Chapter 1

Illumi soared through the cool night air, teleporting from one building to the next with ease. The European cityscape stretched out beneath him, bathed in the soft glow of streetlights and the occasional neon sign. He had finally decided to leave his home in America, seeking adventure and the answers to the mysteries that plagued his mind. Each leap tested the limits of his teleportation magic, a skill he had honed from a young age.

As he moved, his thoughts wandered. This world, so similar to the Earth he had once known, was now his reality. The only noticeable difference was the magic he wielded and his new, younger body. He had searched tirelessly for others like him, hoping to find someone who could explain why he had been reborn. Yet, his efforts had been in vain, leading only to disappointment.

His rebirth had been a mystery. No gods, no systems, no grand explanations had greeted him. One moment he was dying, and the next, he was a newborn in an orphanage. The existential questions that had once consumed him faded as he discovered his magical abilities. He recalled the first time he used magic, stopping a falling tree in its tracks with a mere gesture. That moment had changed everything.

As he continued teleporting, a sudden sensation interrupted his thoughts. Something in the atmosphere felt different, almost as if an invisible force was pushing against his magic. Intrigued, he decided to investigate further. His eyes scanned the area, noting the religious architecture that stood out against the modern skyline. He focused on a building that resembled an old hotel, feeling the resistance intensify as he tried to teleport inside.

With a determined effort, Illumi brute-forced his way through the barrier, only to find himself tumbling into a bathroom. The sudden shift in location left him disoriented, and he landed unceremoniously in a bathtub. His eyes widened in shock as he realized he wasn't alone. A girl with modest features and a surprised expression stared up at him.

"Ah!" she squeaked, her cheeks flushing as Illumi's face pressed into her chest.

Slowly, Illumi tilted his head up, looking at a pair of bright green eyes and a flushed face staring back at him. "Hi."

Outside the bathroom, Illumi used a small burst of magic to dry his clothes, waiting anxiously for the girl to reappear. When she finally emerged, wrapped in a towel and dripping wet, he felt his face heat up but managed to maintain eye contact.

"I'm so sorry," he blurted out, "I didn't mean to intrude. I was testing something, and I didn't expect this to happen."

The girl, who he learned was named Asia, offered a shy smile. "It's okay. Accidents happen." She blushed deeper, hugging the towel tighter around her body. "But, um, could you maybe turn around while I get dressed?"

Illumi nodded and turned away, hearing the rustling of fabric behind him. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't resist sneaking a peek, noting how beautiful and alluring she looked. The way the droplets of water travelled down her curves, her golden hair glistening in the soft candle light of the room. When her towel slipped, he quickly averted his gaze, his mind recalling the softness of her chest against his face. Perhaps this accident had a silver lining.

As Asia dressed, Illumi broke the silence. "You didn't seem that surprised when I appeared out of nowhere. Have you seen magic before?"

Asia's voice was soft but filled with certainty. "I've never met a magician, but I know they exist because of the Church."

"The Church?" Illumi asked, his curiosity piqued. "Are they aware of other magic users out there?"

"I don't know for sure," she admitted, "but my powers are proof enough that others must exist."

Illumi turned to face her, momentarily forgetting his promise not to look. He admired her as she slipped into her church robes, feeling a mix of awe and embarrassment. "What kind of powers do you have?"

Asia's eyes lit up with a mixture of pride and sadness. "I have special healing powers. I thought they were a gift from God, allowing me to heal anyone from anything. The Church loved me for it, but then... I healed the wrong person."

Illumi sensed her distress and moved to sit on her bed. "What happened?"

She took a deep breath, her gaze distant. "I healed a Devil. After that, everything changed."

"Devils? So they exist? Does that mean Angels do too?" Illumi asked, leaning forward in fascination.

Asia nodded. "Yes, they do."

Sensing an opportunity to lift her spirits and learn more, Illumi smiled. "Could you tell me about the Angels? I don't know much about them."

Her expression brightened, and she moved to sit beside him. As she began to explain everything she knew, Illumi listened intently, feeling a strange sense of comfort in her presence. The night wore on, with Asia's voice weaving a tapestry of celestial beings and holy powers, leaving Illumi with more questions and a newfound determination to uncover the secrets of this world.

Illumi sat on the edge of Asia's bed, watching her sleep peacefully after their long conversation. The room was quiet, and the moonlight filtering through the window cast a soft glow over her features. He had learned so much from her about the Church, Angels, Devils, and the myriad other factions that existed in this world. Yet, the more he learned, the more questions he had.

He couldn't understand why the Church would want to get rid of someone as kind and useful as Asia. Her healing powers were remarkable, and it seemed foolish to discard her simply because she had healed a Devil. Gently, he brushed a hand through her hair, marveling at the innocence and purity she exuded.

Something didn't feel right. Determined to uncover the truth, he stood up and surveyed the room. The barrier he had bypassed to enter her room indicated someone wanted to keep her hidden. Yet, no one had come to check on them, suggesting his presence had gone unnoticed. Utilizing his teleportation magic, he began to search the building for any clues that could explain Asia's situation.

Room after room, corridor after corridor, Illumi found nothing of significance. The building seemed to be an ordinary religious establishment, with nothing to indicate any hidden agendas or sinister plots. Frustrated and tired, he returned to Asia's room, leaning against the wall as he considered his next move.

Looking at Asia, he felt a protective instinct stir within him. She was the first person with powers he had encountered, and now, fully aware of the supernatural dangers that lurked in this world, he knew having her by his side would be invaluable. Her ability to heal was beyond useful, and her beauty was undeniable. His eyes traced the gentle curve of her modest breasts and the graceful line of her hips. He would be lying if he said her appearance wasn't a factor in his decision, but her powers and the companionship she could offer were what truly mattered.

Illumi made up his mind. He couldn't leave her here, vulnerable and alone. She deserved better than the Church's harsh punishment. Moving quietly, he approached her and gently shook her shoulder.

"Asia," he whispered, his voice soft and reassuring.

Her eyes fluttered open, groggy and disoriented. "Illumi? What's going on?"

He gave her a warm smile. "Asia, I have a proposition for you..."

Morning broke with a gentle light spilling into the room, casting a warm glow over the bed where Asia had spent the night. One of her assigned guards, a stern-looking man in a black suit, approached her room for the routine morning check. He knocked lightly, expecting to hear her soft voice responding from within. Instead, there was only silence.

"Asia?" he called out, concern starting to creep into his voice. Receiving no answer, he cautiously opened the door. His eyes widened in shock as he took in the empty bed and the absence of her belongings. Panic gripped him instantly.

"She's gone!" he shouted, turning back towards the hallway. "Asia is missing!"

His voice echoed through the corridors, and soon the building was a hive of frantic activity. Guards and clergy members hurried about, searching every room and corner, their faces etched with worry and confusion. The disappearance of their precious charge was a disaster they had never anticipated.

Elsewhere, far from the panic and chaos, Asia was experiencing a morning unlike any other. She clung tightly to Illumi's back, a delighted smile on her face as they soared through the sky. The cool wind whipped through her hair, and the world below was a blur of colors and shapes. Illumi's teleportation magic allowed them to cover great distances in mere moments, making the experience both exhilarating and surreal.

"Where are we going?" Asia asked, her voice filled with excitement and curiosity.

Illumi turned his head slightly, giving her a reassuring smile. "Wherever we want to go. The world is ours to explore."

Asia's heart swelled with a mixture of happiness and relief. For the first time in a long while, she felt free. Free from the oppressive confines of the Church, free from the fear of punishment, and free to choose her own path. She tightened her grip on Illumi, feeling a profound sense of gratitude towards the boy who had rescued her.

Their journey continued, with Illumi teleporting them from place to place, each stop revealing a new and wondrous sight. They passed over vast forests, sparkling lakes, and bustling cities, each more breathtaking than the last. Asia's laughter rang out in pure joy, a sound that warmed Illumi's heart.

As they paused to rest on a secluded hilltop overlooking a quaint village, Asia slid off Illumi's back, her eyes shining with happiness. She set her bag down and stretched, breathing in the fresh morning air.

"Thank you, Illumi," she said, turning to face him. "I don't know how to repay you for this."

Illumi shrugged, a playful glint in his eye. "You don't need to repay me, Asia. We're in this together now. Besides, your company is more than enough."

She blushed, looking down at her feet. "I've never had a friend like you before. Someone who would do so much for me."

"Well," Illumi said, sitting down on the grass, "I think we both needed a fresh start. And who knows, maybe we'll find some answers along the way."

Asia sat beside him, her expression thoughtful. "Do you really think so? That we'll find out why we're here and what our purpose is?"

"I believe we will," Illumi replied confidently. "This world is full of mysteries, and I have a feeling we're just getting started."

They spent the next few hours exploring the village below, mingling with the locals and sampling various foods from street vendors. Asia marveled at the simple pleasures of life, things she had never experienced while under the Church's strict watch. Illumi watched her with a smile, glad to see her so happy and carefree.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, they found themselves sitting by a serene lake, the water reflecting the beautiful colors of the twilight sky. While they enjoyed the peace, chaos reigned where they care not to return.
