In the bustling headquarters of Rhodes Island, the familiar sound of footsteps echoed through the hallways as Operators moved from one mission to another. Among the many rooms, the Doctor's office stood as a place of strategy, planning, and occasional respite.

Today, however, the office had an unusual atmosphere. The Doctor sat at their desk, surrounded by piles of documents and reports. Lappland, with her characteristic mischievous grin, leaned casually against the desk, her tail swishing back and forth.

"Hey, Doc," Lappland called out, her voice tinged with playful arrogance. "Got a minute?"

The Doctor looked up, offering a welcoming smile. "Of course, Lappland. What's on your mind?"

Lappland's grin widened. "I was just thinking... you and I, we go way back, don't we? How about you show me some appreciation?" She tilted her head, her ears twitching expectantly.

The Doctor chuckled, reaching out to gently pet Lappland's head. Her ears perked up, and her tail began to wag rapidly, clearly enjoying the attention. "You know I appreciate all of my Operators, Lappland."

As the Doctor's hand continued to pet her, Lappland closed her eyes, a contented purr-like sound escaping her lips. "Mmm, that's the stuff. I could get used to this."

Unbeknownst to them, Texas had entered the room, her usually stoic expression turning to one of surprise and slight irritation as she saw Lappland basking in the Doctor's affection.

"What's going on here?" Texas asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

Lappland opened one eye, her grin never faltering. "Oh, hey Texas. Just enjoying some well-deserved attention from the Doc. You jealous?"

Texas's eyes narrowed, and she marched over, tugging on the Doctor's other arm. "Doctor," she said, her voice quieter but firm, "I need some attention too."

The Doctor looked between the two Operators, slightly bewildered but smiling. "Alright, Texas," they said, lifting their other hand to pet her as well. "There's enough attention for both of you."

Texas blushed, her tail swaying slightly as she felt the Doctor's hand on her head. She glanced at Lappland, who was clearly enjoying the moment far too much.

"See, Texas?" Lappland teased. "You just have to ask."

Before Texas could retort, the door to the office swung open, and Amiya walked in, a stack of paperwork in her arms. The sight that greeted her was so unexpected that she dropped the papers, scattering them across the floor.

"Doctor!" Amiya exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise. "What's going on here?"

The Doctor looked up, still petting both Lappland and Texas. "Oh, Amiya. Just giving a little morale boost."

Amiya blinked, then sighed, a small smile tugging at her lips despite her initial shock. "Well, it looks like you're doing a good job. Just don't forget about the reports."

The Doctor nodded, continuing to pet the two Operators who seemed more content than ever. "I won't, Amiya. Thank you."

As Amiya bent down to gather the fallen papers, she couldn't help but chuckle softly at the sight. "Just another day at Rhodes Island," she murmured to herself, shaking her head in amusement.

The next day dawned with the usual flurry of activity at Rhodes Island. Operators were preparing for missions, strategizing in meetings, and attending to their various duties. The Doctor's office, however, seemed to have become an unexpected epicenter of a different kind of activity.

Amiya walked down the hallway towards the Doctor's office, clutching another stack of paperwork that needed their attention. She approached the door, the muffled sounds of conversation and occasional laughter drifting through. Pausing for a moment, she knocked lightly before pushing the door open.

Inside, the scene that greeted her was both familiar and amusing. Once again, the Doctor sat at their desk, petting both Texas and Lappland. Lappland's tail was wagging energetically, her eyes closed in contentment. Texas, on the other hand, was blushing but clearly enjoying the attention as well, her ears twitching slightly with each gentle stroke of the Doctor's hand.

Amiya sighed, a fond but exasperated expression crossing her face. "Doctor, really?"

The Doctor looked up, offering Amiya an apologetic smile. "Good morning, Amiya. Just a little morale boost for our hardworking Operators."

Lappland opened one eye, her grin as mischievous as ever. "Morning, Amiya. You should try this sometime. It's quite relaxing."

Texas shot Lappland a look, but before she could say anything, Amiya shook her head, setting the stack of papers on the Doctor's desk. "I see you're all very...occupied," she said, her tone both amused and resigned.

"Just another day, huh?" Amiya murmured, recalling her similar reaction from the previous day.

Lappland chuckled. "Looks like this might become a regular thing, Amiya. Better get used to it."

Texas, still blushing, nodded slightly. "It's...not so bad."

Amiya couldn't help but smile. Despite the unusual circumstances, it was clear that this simple act was bringing a sense of peace and camaraderie to the Operators. She decided that as long as it didn't interfere with their duties, there was no harm in allowing these moments of affection.

"Well, Doctor," Amiya said, her voice gentle but firm, "just make sure you don't forget about the paperwork. We have a lot to get through today."

The Doctor nodded, their hands still gently petting Lappland and Texas. "I won't, Amiya. Thank you."

As Amiya turned to leave the office, she glanced back one more time, shaking her head with a soft chuckle. "Just another day...again," she muttered to herself.
