[Personality]
Yukari is an enigma to many who have known her, even her late close friends. She is the kind of person that many would warn the common populus to avoid. For those that do know her, she is commonly known as a lazy hermit who has the potential to surpass everything and everyone. For her, dealing with any kind of confrontation directly is a common inconvenience in her life. Although she commonly uses doublespeak in her speech, those who can listen carefully know that she doesn't mean much more than a small incident or two for her entertainment. She can deal with situations by manipulating people unnoticed.
[Outline]
Not much is known about her origins, but she came into existence long ago. To protect many youkai and other supernatural creatures from harm, or for her own convenience, she created the Hakurei Barrier of Gensokyo alongside a few others she once knew. For over a thousand years, she had the duty of monitoring the barrier. When it weakened, she'd order others to strengthen it, or do it herself if she felt like it.
During the 21st century, disaster struck Japan. The same eerie light that obliterated Japan made it past the Hakurei Barrier, leaving no survivors except a weakened Yukari. When she had awoken, Yukari had found that her servants, friends, and everyone that inhabited Gensokyo was killed. Completely devastated by the event, she had gone on a rampage, killing many in her wake. It wasn't until "That Man" made her a deal that she had stopped. In exchange for information on what was Gensokyo, she would be free to roam the Earth unharmed. Although she had been given a weapon, she opted to use it for spare parts to turn her umbrella into what is now Ultimatum. "That Man" had been given faulty information to protect those who could possibly still be alive from harm.
[Ultimatum Mk. XIV]
Yukari's own umbrella, modified with parts from the weapon "That Man" gave her during the 21st century. After the decimation of Japan, it was almost completely ruined. Now, she uses it as both a normal umbrella and a weapon if need be.
The canopy is outfitted with a sturdy material, with Danmaku-etched designs from Yukari herself on its external side.
The canopy's material is easily malleable, allowing it to be bent to the user's own whim. For a normal human, the material cannot be bent without inhuman strength. It can also very easily conduct heat rivaling the hypocenter of a nuclear explosion.
Small curved blades lie hidden between the tips of the umbrella. Each tip would normally have a red string woven between them. When the canopy and ribs go flat, the blades come out, letting the string lie just along the blades themselves.
The ribs of the umbrella are made from a more sturdy material than the canopy. Thanks to it being more sturdy, the umbrella can be perfectly flat without worry of the ribs breaking.
The pole is made of an unknown material similar to wood, bamboo, and fibreglass. It allows the user to grip it, worry-free of any concerns such as corrosion. It has certain "grip spots" for the user to put their grip on, if two hands are needed.
Hidden in the top of the pole is a bisento blade. The blade itself is slightly magnetic, allowing the canopy to stick to the pole.
The top part of the blade is hidden in the end tip of the canopy. The tip itself has a hole to discharge smoke from any potential controlled explosions from the external canopy.
On the bottom of the handle, there is a carved spike, distinctly from what would be a bisento.
The handle sports a hidden button that makes the runner go even further up the rod, allowing the canopy and ribs to go flat. If pressed a second time, the blade hidden in the pole comes out fully, loosening the canopy from the runner's magnetic pull. What's left is a bisento, a weapon used in the times of Feudal Japan.
Pressing the button a third time will retract the bisento blade back into the pole. When the canopy is re-attatched, the top part of the blade slides into the tip. If the canopy was thrown, the following things will happen once it lands back on the rod:
1.) The canopy and ribs will go back to their original shape before they were thrown, allowing for a smooth transition back to a regular umbrella.
2.) the ribs will automatically re-attatch to the runner of the rod, allowing it to maintain the umbrella's shape.
