The next day...
The sun was rising, and the sunlight streamed into the gym early in the morning. Uraraka felt herself start to wake up and noticed that she was all cuddled up with Midoriya. As she rubbed her eyes, she smiled and gave Midoriya a kiss on the cheek. Uraraka watched him smile the moment she kissed him. She couldn't help but laugh quietly.
As she got up from her sleeping bag, she noticed everyone was in the gym. Except Bakugo.
The moment she straightened up, she noticed that she might've felt a little wobbly. Fortunately she didn't feel nauseous this time around.
She looked around and couldn't find him anywhere. Uraraka remembered seeing him with Kirishima, Ashido and surprisingly Chloe. She walked quietly around the gym, but couldn't find him. She even looked in the locker room, but he wasn't there. As she headed over to the front door, she thought she heard someone trying to stay quiet.
Uraraka made her way alongside the walls of the school and could hear Bakugo trying not to yell out loud. She didn't understand what he was doing exactly, but thought maybe he was practicing with his Miraculous. As she made her way closer to him, she hid behind the corner once she saw him.
She saw him sweating quite a bit, but without his hero costume. He looked like he was done practicing with his Miraculous based on his heavy breathing.
"Katsuki, maybe we should stop for now. You're going to hurt yourself if you keep pushing like this," Sparkky said to him.
"I thought you wanted to practice so we can get Uraraka's Miraculous back," Bakugo said to him as he wiped sweat off of his forehead.
"Well, yes. But you look like you need a break," Sparkky said, "Maybe you can get me a jalapeño--"
"Come on, Sparkky. I need to do this. I can't let this happen to Uraraka, too," Bakugo said to his Kwami, "You saw what Chrysalis was doing to her. If she can do all of that with just a tiny of her quirk, then there's no way we can defeat her if she gets her hands on Uraraka again. And Deku... Don't even get me started on him."
Bakugo leaned onto the wall and slowly slid down to the ground. Sparkky tried to get his attention, but he wasn't having it as he drank from his water bottle.
"Katsuki, maybe you should talk to them. Didn't you say that they are your friends?" Sparkky asked him.
"Sure. But I can't talk about this, especially right now," Bakugo said back, "You know why. It's part of my plan to get Uraraka's Miraculous back."
Uraraka felt something come over her, and she almost stumbled a little. She smiled and realized that he was practicing really hard for her. It almost moved her to tears since he had never really done that kind of thing before for her. She really started to notice recently that Bakugo and her really are good friends now.
She stepped up and walked over to him. The moment she stepped up to him, he looked shocked to see her standing there.
"Ur-Uraraka? What the hell are you doing here?" Bakugo asked her.
"Ooh, busted," Sparkky commented.
"Shut it, Sparkky," Bakugo growled out quietly.
"May I sit?" Uraraka asked him.
Bakugo shrugged and pulled his Kwami out of the way.
Uraraka smiled and sat next to him. Bakugo didn't even look at her as he played with his Miraculous. She noticed that he was turning a little red from embarrassment or maybe it was from exercising.
For a while, Uraraka just sat there looking up at the clear blue sky. It was going to be another gorgeous day today for them, especially for hero training. She took deep breath in and out of the fresh air outside. For a moment, she saw Bakugo look at her with a side glance.
"Did you see anything?" Bakugo asked her.
"Not much. Just that you are doing all of this training for me apparently," Uraraka said with a smile.
More silence between them as Bakugo let out an annoyed sigh. He kept quiet and spotted her watching him play with his Miraculous. She caught a glimpse of his arms and noticed how much he was sweating. As she looked at him taking a break, she noticed lately how much he's been sweating. She was worried that maybe Ladybug didn't heal him properly.
"Are you feeling okay, Bakugo?" Uraraka asked him.
"Sure. I'm fine. Why?" Bakugo said a little too direct.
"Well, I've just noticed that you've been sweating quite a lot again. I was just worried that Ladybug didn't heal you properly is all," Uraraka explained to him.
"Yeah well, I'm fine. At least, when it comes to that. Just trying to train in peace and quiet since it's kind of loud and crowded in the gym now," Bakugo said to her as he sat up straight.
"I can understand that. It is a bit crowded now," Uraraka said to him, "I can see why you want to train out here in the open. Just don't scare away any civilians, okay?"
Uraraka could hear him let out a chuckle, and she couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah, sure," Bakugo said back.
"You know, you don't have to do all of this for me. I can handle myself out there," Uraraka said to him.
"Not doing just for you. I want to back get at Caterpillar and Butterfly Bastard for taking your Miraculous," Bakugo said to her.
"That's still doing it for me," Uraraka teased him.
Bakugo pushed her gently in a teasing manner, but she actually felt little light headed from that initial push. He noticed and helped her sit up.
"You okay?" Bakugo asked her.
"Ye-Yeah. Just... my quirk is really messed up right now," Uraraka said to him, "I'm just glad that I don't feel nauseous."
Uraraka noticed that he actually looked concerned for her. It actually made her feel a lot better just seeing him want to help out.
"Maybe I should help you inside," Bakugo said to her, "I'm done training for now."
Bakugo reached out for her once he stood up, and she accepted his help up. Once she stood up though, something didn't feel quite right. She felt so dizzy that she felt herself falling into Bakugo's arms.
"Uraraka, what's wrong-- Wha?! Uraraka, get up! W-We're fucking floating!"
Uraraka opened her eyes and suddenly found herself floating in Bakugo's arms, and so was he.
They were both floating together.
"What the hell is going on?!" Bakugo cried out.
Suddenly, Uraraka felt him floating away from her. She quickly grabbed his wrist, trying to stop him from getting away from her.
"Bakugo, hold on!" Uraraka cried back.
"Of course! Deactivate your quirk!"
Uraraka tried to, but she had to let go of him. She really didn't want to do that, but she had no choice. Bakugo understood, and she very carefully let go so she didn't accidentally push him further away. Once she touched her fingertips together however, nothing happened.
Her eyes widened in horror as they kept floating.
"What?!" Uraraka cried out, "How?!"
She tried again and nothing happened again.
Then she noticed that Bakugo was starting to drift away from her. She swung her arms out to grab him and fortunately gripped onto his wrist.
"What the hell is wrong now?" Bakugo asked her.
"My quirk, it's not working!" Uraraka cried out, "Something's wrong!"
Bakugo looked speechless as they both floated in the air together.
"Wha-What?! What do you mean that your quirk is not working?! We're floating in the damn air!" Bakugo cried out.
Uraraka looked around for a moment and spotted the wall beside them. They were almost above the school, so she quickly tried to wave her away closer to it. Even if she was still holding onto Bakugo, she had to grab onto it somehow. She was almost there, when she suddenly felt really light headed. She felt her vision start to get blurry. Uraraka could swear she saw a spark of some sort push her and Bakugo closer to the school.
Then Bakugo quickly shook her awake.
"Uraraka, you've gotta stay awake. We're still floating," Bakugo said to her, "I got us to the school."
She opened her eyes and noticed that Bakugo was holding onto the school up above. He even held her wrist so she wouldn't float away. Then Bakugo brought her closer to the school so that she could hold on.
"Th-Thank you, Bakugo," Uraraka said to him, "I owe you one."
"Don't worry about it. Just try your quirk again, that's how you'll owe me," Bakugo said back.
Uraraka tried to deactivate her quirk, and something suddenly felt really heavy. She suddenly felt like she was going to fall off of the roof. But then she noticed Bakugo slipping out of her grip as he suddenly got way heavier. He held onto the rooftop with his other hand as tight as he could.
"Wh-What the hell just happened...?" Bakugo asked her, "I-I ca-can't move..."
"I-It's gotta be... my quirk... hold on, Bakugo... I'll try to deactivate it again..." Uraraka said to him.
She tried to move her arms, but they could barely move. They were so heavy. She pushed as hard as she could, but just barely made it to her fingertips. The moment she touched them, she found herself suddenly floating again. Even Bakugo was floating.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Bakugo cried out.
"Something's clearly wrong with my quirk, Bakugo. We need to get some help," Uraraka said as she quickly grabbed his wrist.
Once they were back on the school, Uraraka noticed that some of the others down there were starting to wake up. Even Midoriya.
"Come on, we've gotta get closer," Uraraka said to him, "Just don't let go."
"Don't worry. I won't," Bakugo said to her.
Uraraka felt her legs dangling in the air, but she held onto the building. She let go of Bakugo's wrist and let him follow her. She walked her arms along the side of the building and got closer to the gym. Bakugo was doing good at following her without needing her help. Once they found themselves close enough, Uraraka got everyone's attention.
"Izuku, someone, I need help!" Uraraka cried out.
Midoriya instantly heard her voice, but was confused as to where she was. Even some others heard her, but didn't see her anywhere.
"Ochaco, where are you?" Midoriya asked her.
"She's up here, you idiot," Bakugo said back.
Then Midoriya and a few others looked up instantly. They saw Uraraka and Bakugo floating on top of the school together.
"Kacchan?! Ochaco?!" Midoriya cried out.
"What happened here?" Alya asked.
"Well, my quirk kind of accidentally..."
"Her quirk made us float away from the school," Bakugo interrupted, "And then made us heavy, and then made us float again."
Everyone was basically up at this point, including Ladybug and Cat Noir.
"Hold on, Ochaco and Katsuki! I'll get you down!" Ladybug cried out.
She quickly grabbed her yo-yo and swung it around like a lasso. Then she launched it and wrapped it around Uraraka. She carefully pulled her closer to the ground as Bakugo held onto the school building. The whole school was on edge as Ladybug pulled her down to the gym. A couple of them even helped pull on the string.
"Easy..." Ladybug said to herself.
Before she could get to the ground, Bakugo found himself slipping away. Uraraka's eyes widened in shock and frantically looked around for someone to help him.
"Someone help Bakugo!" Uraraka cried out, "I can't activate my quirk!"
Cat Noir suddenly launched himself so high that he landed on top of the rooftop. He ran along the roof like a cat and quickly took out his baton. Just before Bakugo was out of reach, Cat Noir used his baton to help extend him and grabbed his wrist.
"Don't ever speak about this," Bakugo growled at him.
"You know I can't keep promises," Cat Noir said back.
He pulled him closer to the school and used the baton to swing themselves down to the ground.
Uraraka let out a long sigh and was finally on the ground. Midoriya held her close with her feet dangling upwards. Even Bakugo had to be held, and Queen Bee ran right for it to help out.
"Don't worry, Katsuki," Queen Bee said as Cat Noir moved out of the way, "I'll help you out."
Queen Bee held onto Bakugo's hands and pulled him closer to her. He felt really awkward to be this close with her, especially in front of everyone.
"Ochaco, are you okay? I can't believe that you were floating like that! Did you say that you can't deactivate your quirk?" Midoriya asked her.
"No. Something's wrong with my quirk," Uraraka said to him and to the Parisian heroes, "I was talking to Bakugo this morning. When I went to get up, I got dizzy and fell onto him. The next thing I know, we're floating in the air."
"Can you try it now?" Alya asked her.
"Maybe... I just..." Uraraka trailed off.
"Ochaco...?" Midoriya said.
"It's just that I tried to use it, but it made us... really heavy..." Uraraka said to them, "I could barely move."
Everyone was shocked to hear this, even Ladybug didn't know what to make of this. Then she realized Chrysalis tampering with it must've made it evolve or just damaged it.
"Well, that's a new one," Cat Noir commented.
"Just try it," Ladybug said, "We'll all right here in case you need us."
They all looked at Uraraka as she concentrated on what she was doing. She closed her eyes and focused on her what she wanted her quirk to do.
Turn off.
Uraraka touched her fingertips together and suddenly found herself back on the ground. But this time, she was able to move. She felt like she was back to normal. Her eyes flew open and spotted Bakugo finally on the ground. Queen Bee hugged him as he finally felt so relieved to be back to normal.
"I did it..." Uraraka said as she let herself relax.
Sweat beaded down her forehead as she suddenly felt really nauseous. Her dizziness kicked in and she felt like she was about to collapse. Midoriya quickly noticed it and grabbed her before she could.
"Ochaco!" Ladybug cried out.
"I-I'm okay... Just... a little dizzy," Uraraka said to them.
"What's going on with her quirk? It wasn't doing this before, at least not like this?" Nino asked them.
"Well, her quirk has been tampered with by Chrysalis. She has a bit of her quirk, so she's somehow able to connect to it," Ladybug tried to explain to her teammates.
"Like an akuma?!" Pigella cried out.
Eveyone got in a stance, ready to go after Uraraka. Even Felix transformed into Argos, which only got Ladybug more defensive. Midoriya kept her close and away from him. Ladybug's teammates were all ganging up on Uraraka, and Ladybug could tell that this is exactly what Chrysalis wanted.
"No. You're not going anywhere near her," Ladybug demanded, "Don't you see? This is what she wants. Chrysalis is trying to separate us. We need to stick together if we want to defeat her. If anything, we need to keep Izuku and Ochaco closer in order to stop them."
"How do you know that Uraraka isn't akumatized? Chrysalis could've akumatized her when we weren't looking," Caprikid cried out as he readied his paint brush.
"For all we know, she could be sabotaging our plans right now," Rooster Bold said to him, siding with his friend.
Ladybug looked at all of her teammates and then turned to look at Uraraka and Midoriya. Midoriya was trying to keep Uraraka away from them and shield her from them getting to her. He really didn't want to transform because he knew that wouldn't help anything.
"Come on, everyone. You know me and Cat Noir would never let this happen," Ladybug tried to explain to them.
Argos looked about ready to pull out a feather and use it to his advantage. Ladybug threw her yo-yo at Argos, and it wrapped around his arm. She tightened it, and he gave her a piercing glare.
"Argos. Don't even think about it," Ladybug growled at him, "You're the one that told Izuku about the lair. You and I both know that nothing has happened between Ochaco and Chyrsalis."
Argos let go of his fan and let Ladybug take care of this. Ladybug noticed that her teammates still didn't believe her.
"I believe in her," Viperion said to them as he stepped up to face them, "Ladybug's never let us down. Why would she, even now when Class 1-A are relying on her to get them home?"
Ladybug's teammates all looked like they were starting to agree with Viperion. Ladybug gave Viperion a smile, and he too gave her a smile. They all were lowering their colorful weapons, ready to side with Ladybug finally.
Then Ladybug spotted something coming straight at Uraraka and Midoriya. It looked like an arrow that glowed. It happened all fast that Ladybug didn't have time to grab it and stop it. Midoriya was about to get hit by it, but Bakugo transformed and the magical arrow hit his gauntlet.
"Kacchan!' Midoriya cried out, "What're you doing?"
"Saving you the trouble. It's looks like Uraraka's quirk is a lot worse than we thought," Bakugo said to him, and then turned to Ladybug's teammates, "If anyone wants to go after Uraraka, you have to go through me."
"Bakugo?" Uraraka said.
"None of you were there when she used her quirk. She got light headed and fell, so I helped her out. The next thing I know, I was floating in the air," Bakugo explained to the others, "There were no akumas. Nothing like that. If you don't believe me, I dare you to fight me right here and now!"
No one said a word as everyone backed off, especially Caprikid. Bakugo spotted him and glared daggers at him.
"Go on, I dare you to shoot another arrow at her," Bakugo growled out.
Caprikid wanted nothing to do with him, so he dropped the crossbow and it vanished. Bakugo stood his ground until everyone decided to back off. Ladybug's team began to leave them alone while Ladybug and Cat Noir made sure Uraraka was okay.
"Ochaco, are you feeling okay?" Ladybug asked her, "I'm sorry for what happened. I didn't think my teammates would behave like that. I'm going to have to talk to Caprikid after this."
"It's okay, Ladybug," Uraraka said back as she felt herself wobble a little, "I just need to know what's going on with my quirk."
"Please don't tell me this is going to be another one of those healing sessions," Cat Noir groaned.
Ladybug looked at Uraraka, and she didn't necessarily look like she needed healing. She looked like she needed some rest. Then she thought about her quirk, and it apparently evolving. She thought maybe if she checked on it that Uraraka might understand what's going on.
"Do you want to me check on it for you?" Ladybug asked her.
Uraraka's eyes widened in shock and so did Midoriya and Bakugo. Rena Rouge and Queen Bee stayed with them while the others helped out with some hero training again.
"You can do that?" Uraraka asked back.
"Sure. I can at least give you a light healing session instead of a full on one," Ladybug said to her, "I don't think you really need one. Just some rest afterwards."
Uraraka looked at Midoriya, and he held her hand for support. Bakugo stood there looking about ready to go do some hero training, but he stuck by her side anyway. Uraraka took a deep breath in and out and looked at Ladybug.
"Okay. I'm ready, Ladybug."
Another amazing chapter!
This was actually really fun to write! I liked the idea of Uraraka accidentally floating around with Bakugo! I don't know why, I just find it funny!! I just love Bakugo having trouble swimming through the air, trying to get down!! LOL! Also, Uraraka's quirk evolving I'm not sure if I want it to be like in the manga yet or not. It might be similar to it, but not sure yet. Right now, it's kind of similar to how she got akumatized. How she could make everything around her either float or heavy.
It looks like Ladybug is going to somewhat heal her!
One day until they go home to Japan!
What's going to happen next??
More to come soon!
