Obviously, Himiko in this is very different to her representation in DON'T TURN AROUND. I still hope you like it.

The storm parted. The lone jetcopter, carrying only a pilot, and Lara, flew through the night to the big island of Honolulu. All the way the skies were perpetualy cloud covered, lightening dancing throughout... cover.

The phone conversation had lasted less than five minutes. Forty-eight hours, Lara, alone, with the note he sent... or SHE would let Trinity know fear - to the sound of shreiking millions... all on Sam's head.

There was no time to debate, no time to plan, just act.

Lara had sat stone-like all the way, the box the Ripper delivered to her home in her trembling hands, one clenching a single-shot Derenger... in case it was too late.

The copter came to a landing in the expansive back-yard of the Nishimora compound. Sam's mother , her beautiful face red with tears came up to Lara, her eyes pleading as she stared at the box, "Please Lara," she gasped out, failing to hold back her tears, "Give 'it' whatever it wants. Just PLEASE... save my baby."

Lara nodded, then walked to the twin glass doors of Sam's bedroom that faced the sea.

They swung open, on their own, as she approached.

Sam sat on the silk sheets of her king-sized bed, in the lotus position, eyes rolled in the back of her head... grinning. "So... I won't have her?" she hissed.

Lara unceremoniously dropped the box on the bed, then tossed the Derenger down as well. Before Sam could respond, she brought her face inches from Sam's astonished face, "Fuck... you." she hissed back, "Anything happens to me, or anyone else... and friends of mine will take a diamond cutter to that ruby, setting that 'thing' attached to it, and Hoshi's soul, free : leaving you without a tether to this world sans Sam. I came hear to keep Sam's conscience clear; to be told who the fuck I'm dealing with; and to let you know - if you hurt her - if one drop of her blood is spilled, or any innocent blood is spilled by you while in her... I am the last face you see before you get pulled to Hell."

"WE won't go alone, "Sam sighed.

Lara looked away.

Sam grinned, "Good. I would not have bothered with this meeting if you were anyone less than who you are."

Lara back away from the bed, yet kept her eyes locked on Sam.

"They called him," Sam began, her voice cracking with emotion, "'HIS Knight Of The Long Knives. He created the giant Oni. That is the only word for that abomination. He had power. He was a mist... fast as thought... a madman." She opened the box and pulled out the note, then placed her hands over it. "He will drag fear from you... it will heal him, give him power over time." She shook her head. "Y0U would need to pull fear from him to take that power from him. Make him feel terror. Impossible. He WILL kill you. Ask your blind man about that. Too bad. I will have to do it MY way. Unless you wish to kill her now." Her hand suddenly snapped back from the page as if burned.

Lara drew closer.

Sam began to tremble uncontrolably. Her eyes wide in terror. She crushed the note."A powerful anger... filling a soul... coming through.

Lara stepped closer.

Sam looked to her friend, eyes tearing.

What could scare Himiko this much?

"SHE is... clawing... from the space between... I... have never felt such... rage."

The balmy night air suddenly plummeted in temerature by fifty degrees... only in the space before Sam

Sam screamed as if shot.

"She is... ripping into... ME!" Sam shreiked as she was suddenly thrust backward against the headboard of the bed hard enough to crack the wall mirror, "WHAT!?" Her mouth was silenced by a sudden blow to her jaw by an unseen hand, rocking her head back. "WHY!?"

Sam's head was held in place, as if by a fierce grip under her chin, her eyes, still white, strained as if listening.

"Please stop it," Lara pleaded, "She's my friend."

A very clear, Irish accented young woman's voice was heard from the space before Sam, "This bitch deserves it! She could have killed him before he killed... AHHH!"

Sam was thrown from the bed.

"LET THE GIRL GO!" the voice threatened, "STOP HIDING IN THIS PAWN YOU CUNT!"

Lara scrambled to hold Sam, to no avail.

Sam was lifted into the air as if a ragdoll in a whirlwind, slammed against the glass walls.

"The spirit is VERY powerful," the seer whispered to Lara through an earpiece, "Her grief and rage are being fed by the electricity... She's using the house to feed off the island's power stations. She can keep this up all night... SHE is your answer. Sam doesn't have that long. Call her by her name, and she will calm down. Offer her vengeance, and she will come... her name is Mary Kelly."

"Mary Kelly? You mean he's... Oh my. I'd be honored." She turned to Sam, "MARY!," Lara screamed, "Let her live and I'll kill him! I swear it! I'll even let you help!"

"Help?" the voice asked softly.

"Wouldn't dream of doing it without you," Lara said with a smile, as she looked at Sam, panicked, being held by the throat - six feet off the ground.

Sam choked slightly.

"WELL!?" the voice screamed.

Finaly Sam screamed, pleading, "PLEASE! NO MORE! I WILL I SWEAR IT! I WILL LET HER GO! I SWEAR IT! PLEASE STOP! PLEASE... PLEASE! PLEASE STOP! PLEASE... STOP!"

Sam's body dropped to the bed. She exhailed forcibly, then, whimpering, looked at Lara, her eyes rolling forward,"Sweety, I think I've had enough adventure for a lifetime." Sam sighed as she took back control of her body.
