Chapter 6
Here we go, and this will show just how powerful Issei's Pokémon really is since he is looking forward to this gym battle.
Saffron City Gym.
Issei smiled as she entered the gym's front door, and Kora followed him in amazement. She checked out the area around her, seeing a bunch of humans glaring at spoons as if they were trying to destroy them.
"What exactly is the purpose of this activity?" Kora asked confusedly, not knowing how or why humans were doing this activity until Issei replied to her question.
"These people are those with psychic powers, but compared to Sabrina, the original Gym Leader of Saffron City, her powers are far superior to those of the rookies who are trying to bend a spoon or use it to channel their powers," Issei explained, which confused Kora before Issei stopped her from asking another question.
"Don't question it since you'll just get a headache from it. We should move along to the gym leader," Issei said, walking toward the front desk. He then pulled out his badge case and displayed the badges within the case.
"I'd like to challenge the Saffron City Gym," Issei said, making the clerk look up and gasp at the face since the clerk knew very well who Issei was before nodding his way.
"Of course. You're actually the only person who's here today, so I'm sure you'll be able to battle his team of four Pokémon."
"Four? Last I recall, it was only three. And what do you mean by his team? Isn't Sabrina in for the gym battle?" Issei asked, a bit confused, before the clerk shook his head.
"Oh no. I'm afraid there was a slight misunderstanding. Sabrina is out for a training journey in Hoenn. Her father, Lucas, is taking over the gym. Is that a problem, sir?" The clerk asked before seeing Issei's grin appear on his face.
"Well then, that'll be fun. I accept this change." Issei said as he touched the six Pokeballs on his belt, shaking in excitement at this change.
The reason Issei wasn't mad at this change was that Issei thought that Sabrina was still at the gym in Saffron City. Still, Sabrina's father was legendary in the city as the old gym leader who was not to be underestimated with his Ultimate Shield Technique since Sabrina's father utilized Light Screen, Barrier, and Safeguard to protect his psychic team but with his team more than prepared for such plan, this would make it more fun.
Kora saw this smile and was even more intrigued by Issei because it sounded similar to how a predator would look forward to the challenge.
'He continues to interest me more and more. I can become stronger while under his teachings, especially since his power is much greater than even my own. If he's a God among humans, then perhaps he's even stronger or equal to Lady Arceus?' Kora thought while following Issei into the gym, where the duo looked to see the new gym leader.
Lucas appeared to be a man of commanding presence, standing just over six feet tall with a lean, athletic build. His salt-and-pepper hair was meticulously groomed, and his piercing blue eyes held a depth of wisdom and experience.
His strong jawline and high cheekbones were softened by a neatly trimmed beard, which gave him a distinguished, scholarly appearance. He often wore a crisp, navy-blue suit that accentuated his broad shoulders, with a matching tie that added a touch of understated elegance.
Lucas's demeanor was one of calm authority, and his movements were precise and deliberate, reflecting years of discipline and study in the psychic arts. His presence was both reassuring and formidable, a man who commanded respect through both his knowledge and his unwavering confidence.
"Interesting. It's an honor to meet you, sir Lucas. I've heard you're taking over for your daughter Sabrina, yes? Very noble of you." Issei said before Lucas narrowed his eyes at Issei before recognizing him from the gym leaders who had described the man who destroyed their teams.
'It's just like they described him. A young man who has the aura of a dragon and Champion that is superior to even Lance.' Lucas said in his mind, excited but nervous, that he had looked up Issei's past victories and knew this battle would not be an easy one given Issei's track record.
"Thank you. I'm honored that the Champion Destroyer has graced Kanto with his presence, but know I won't be easy to defeat." Lucas said, hoping to scare Issei a bit. All it did was make Issei chuckle a bit before he looked up, and his eyes then shined with glee.
"That just makes it more fun," Issei said with joy, which made Lucas shake a bit from fear until he steeled himself, his psychic powers calming him down.
"Okay, then, this battle shall be a four-on-four battle. There is no time limit. The challenger is the only one allowed to make substitutions, except for the gym leader. Do you accept the terms?" Lucas asked until Issei replied to him while Kora went to stand on the sidelines.
The referee joined Kora before beginning the first battle.
"The battle between the Saffron City Gym and Issei Hyoudou of Pallet Town will now begin. Please call out your first Pokémon!" The referee shouted before both trainers pulled out their first Pokémon.
"Mr. Mime! Get ready!" Lucas shouted as Mr. Mime appeared while Issei called his own.
"Champeon. Prepare yourself." Issei said, with Champeon appearing, and this surprised Lucas since he only knew of the Eveelutions that were Flareon, Jolteon, and Vamporeon, as well as the others he knew in the other regions such as Espeon, Sylveon, and Umbreon. Still, he's never seen a fighting-type Evolution.
Issei could tell Lucas was surprised before giving him some info. "This is Champeon, the Strong Pokémon. It uses the unique strands growing from its tail to wrap and reinforce its powerful limbs, enhancing its physical prowess. Champeon exhibits unparalleled strength and agility, making it a formidable opponent in battle."
Lucas then looked at Champeon and saw that it was definitely suitable for the fighting type since it appeared in a four-legged stance. It is primarily grey with orange highlights on its ears, paws, and along its back. Its paws are wrapped in bandages made from the unique strands growing from its tail, which resemble two lines of bandaging extending from the base of its previously bushy tail.
"It doesn't matter if you have a new Pokémon or not. We won't lose." Lucas said but was concerned about what the Pokémon's abilities were until the referee began the match-up.
"Let the battle begin!" The referee's voice rang out, signaling the start of the intense showdown between Issei and Lucas.
Mr. Mime immediately got into a defensive stance, its eyes glinting with determination. Lucas wasted no time in calling out the first move. "Mr. Mime, use Reflect!"
A shimmering barrier formed around Mr. Mime, designed to halve the physical damage it would receive. Lucas knew the importance of staying on the defensive against an opponent like Issei.
Issei, however, was undeterred. "Champeon, start with Tail Reinforce!"
Tail Reinforce: Champion uses its tail strands to boost its Attack and Defense stats temporarily. This move also allows Champion to shrug off status conditions like paralysis and burn for three turns.
Champeon's tail strands wrapped tightly around its limbs, enhancing its physical strength and defense. This unique move made Champeon even more formidable, nullifying Reflect's initial advantage.
Lucas's eyes narrowed. "Interesting... Mr. Mime, follow up with Light Screen and then Barrier!"
A second and third barrier appeared, one aimed at reducing special attack damage and the other for increasing defense. Lucas was setting up a formidable defense, but Issei was already planning his next move.
"Champeon, use Bandage Bash!" Issei commanded.
Bandage Bash: Champion uses its bandage-like tail strands to deliver a flurry of strikes, hitting 2-5 times in succession.
Champion darted forward with incredible speed, its bandaged paws glowing as it launched a flurry of powerful strikes. The multi-hit move broke through Mr. Mime's defensive stance, landing blow after blow. Even with Reflect in place, Mr. Mime was visibly shaken by the onslaught.
Lucas clenched his fist. "Mr. Mime, counter with Psychic!"
Mr. Mime's eyes glowed with a brilliant blue light as it unleashed a powerful wave of psychic energy. The force of the attack hit Champeon head-on, but thanks to its heightened defense and the Tail Reinforce move, Champeon stood firm, barely flinching.
"Champion, show them your true strength! Use Aerial Counter!" Issei called out, his voice brimming with confidence.
Aerial Counter: Champion leaps into the air and delivers a powerful counterattack to Flying or Psychic-type Pokémon. This move always goes last but deals double damage if a Flying or Psychic-type hits Champeon move during the turn.
Champeon leaped into the air, waiting for the right moment. Mr. Mime, sensing an opportunity, launched another Psychic attack. But this was exactly what Issei had anticipated.
"Now!" Issei shouted.
Champeon descended with lightning speed, using the momentum to deliver a devastating counterattack. Mr. Mime's previous attack amplified the power of the move, and the force of Champions strike sent Mr. Mime sprawling across the battlefield, unable to continue.
"Mr. Mime is unable to battle! Champeon wins the round!" the referee announced.
Lucas recalled his Mr. Mime, a look of determination crossing his face. "Impressive... but let's see how you handle this. Kadabra, it's your turn!"
Kadabra appeared on the field, its spoon at the ready, eyes gleaming with intelligence and power.
Issei smiled. "Perfect. Champion, ready for another round?"
Champion nodded, its muscles rippling with anticipation.
"Kadabra, use Calm Mind!" Lucas commanded.
Kadabra closed its eyes, its body radiating a calm aura as its special attack and special defense stats increased. Lucas was clearly preparing for a longer, strategic battle.
"Champion, let's disrupt their plans! Use Psychic Break!" Issei called out.
Psychic Break: Champeon focuses its energy on breaking through psychic-type barriers, dealing damage, and lowering the target's Special Defense.
Champeon focused its energy and launched a dark energy beam toward Kadabra. The move dealt significant damage and lowered Kadabra's special defense, countering the effects of Calm Mind.
Lucas gritted his teeth. "Kadabra, retaliate with Psyshock!"
Kadabra's eyes glowed as it launched a powerful Psyshock at Champeon. The move struck hard, but Champion, with its reinforced defenses, managed to endure it.
Issei saw his opening. "Champion, finish it with another Bandage Bash!"
Champion charged forward once more, delivering a series of rapid, powerful strikes with its bandaged paws. Kadabra, caught off guard by the relentless assault, could not withstand the barrage and fell to the ground.
"Kadabra is unable to battle! Champion wins again!" the referee declared.
Lucas recalled Kadabra, his expression a mix of respect and determination. "You're as strong as they say, Issei. But I still have a few tricks up my sleeve."
Issei's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Bring it on, Lucas. Champion and I are just getting started."
"Well, then. In that case, I think it's time to bring out my ace Pokémon. Venomoth, I choose you!" Lucas called out, releasing a Venomoth that fluttered gracefully onto the battlefield.
Issei eyed the new opponent with interest since it wasn't uncommon for Gym Leaders to have Pokémon that weren't their gym type, but only if they had the gym's signature move, which was Psychic in this gym's case.
Venomoth, with its mix of Bug and Poison types, was an interesting choice to counter Champeon's Fighting type. But Issei's confidence in Champion remained unshaken. "Champeon, let's keep up the pressure! Use Bandage Bash!"
Champion charged at Venomoth, its bandaged paws glowing as it prepared to strike. Venomoth, however, was quick and agile, easily dodging the initial blows.
"Venomoth, use Sleep Powder!" Lucas commanded.
Venomoth flapped its wings, releasing a cloud of shimmering powder that enveloped Champion. Despite Champeon's attempts to shake it off, the powder took effect, and Champeon's movements grew sluggish before it finally collapsed into a deep sleep.
Issei frowned at this before shouting at Champion. "Champion, wake up!"
But Champion remained asleep, vulnerable to Venomoth's next move.
"Venomoth, use Psychic!" Lucas ordered.
Venomoth's eyes glowed with a bright light as it unleashed a powerful Psychic attack. The energy wave struck Champion directly, causing it to twitch in its sleep but remain down.
Issei clenched his fist. "Champion, you have to wake up!"
Lucas seized the opportunity to press his advantage. "Venomoth, follow up with Bug Buzz!"
Venomoth's wings vibrated rapidly, creating an intense, high-pitched sound wave that rippled through the arena. The Bug Buzz hit Champion hard, and the combined damage from Psychic and Bug Buzz was too much.
Champion finally stirred, but it was too late. Its strength was depleted, and with a final, valiant effort to stand, it collapsed.
"Champion is unable to battle! Venomoth wins this round!" the referee declared.
Issei recalled Champion, a thoughtful expression on his face. "You did great, Champeon. Rest well." Issei then turned his attention back to Lucas, a fierce determination in his eyes. "That was impressive, Lucas. But this battle isn't over yet."
Lucas nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Indeed, Issei. You've proven to be a formidable opponent, but let's see how you handle the rest of my team."
Kora was impressed since she could tell that Issei really cared for Champeon and knew she had given it her all.
'He really does care for his team, but still, this Lucas doesn't seem to be that strong since Champeon was able to defeat the clown and that inferior sorcerer. The defensive wall is a good strategy, but still, with the gym leader only having two Pokémon left out of four and Issei still having three, things will get worse, and I can tell Issei's got a plan to deal with the bug.' Kora said in her mind while taking notes on the strategy before Issei pulled out his second Pokémon.
"Let's go, Reaper!" Issei shouted while his Liepard appeared on his two feet. Lucas was surprised by this feline since he had only ever seen Meowth but never a Liepard, but he wouldn't give up.
The referee saw they were ready as he began the battle, which was just what Issei wanted.
"First Slash," Issei muttered under his breath, making Liepard smirk at the moth before vanishing. This shocked the gym leader and moth before Liepard appeared above Venomoth and sent a left hook with a sinister black aura around the law into Venomoth, sending it down into the ground and causing Venomoth to cry in pain.
First Slash: Combination of Night Slash and First Impression.
"Venomoth!"
"Now Furious Shadows," Issei said before Liepard summoned a pair of Shadow Claws and went to work on slicing and dicing Venomoth, causing critical damage to the moth until Issei snapped his fingers.
Furious Shadows: Combination of Fury Swipes and Shadow Claw.
"Finish the moth off with Nightly Shadows."
Liepard smiled as her Shadow Claws became larger and sharper before she vanished into a streak of dark energy. She reappeared behind Venomoth with a smirk, snapping her left claw, which resulted in Venomoth falling in defeat.
Nightly Shadows: Combination of Night Slash and Shadow Claw.
"Venomoth is unable to battle. Liepard is the winner!" The referee said, which made Issei smile while Lucas recalled Venomoth.
"Thank you, my friend. Rest up." Lucas said before pulling out his last Pokémon.
"Let's go, Alakazam!" Lucas said as Issei noticed that Alakazam had an interesting item on its body—a Mega Stone.
Issei's eyes gleamed with interest as he observed the Mega Stone. "A Mega Evolution, huh? This battle will be interesting. Ready, Reaper?"
Liepard nodded, her eyes narrowing as she prepared for the next challenge.
Lucas took a deep breath and held up his Key Stone, the pendant around his neck beginning to glow. "Alakazam, let's show them our true power! Mega Evolve!"
In a flash of brilliant light, Alakazam transformed, its mustache growing longer and more ornate, and additional spoons appearing in its hands. The newly Mega Evolved Alakazam floated slightly above the ground, radiating an immense psychic power.
Kora was amazed by this since she could tell that the Mega Evolution made Alakazam a much stronger sorcerer than its pre-evolution.
Issei's eyes gleamed with interest as he observed the Mega Stone. "A Mega Evolution, huh? Well, then, Reaper, let's not be outdone! Mega Evolve!"
Issei activated his Key Stone, and Liepard began to glow. Reaper's form shifted and grew, becoming more streamlined and powerful. Its tail and claws became sharper and deadlier while its fur became a darker color. The newly Mega Evolved Liepard stood tall, exuding a dark, formidable aura.
The referee and Kora, who were watching the battle, gasped in amazement at the simultaneous Mega Evolutions. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the two trainers prepared for the ultimate showdown.
Lucas wasted no time setting up his move. "Alakazam, use Calm Mind!"
Mega Alakazam closed its eyes, the spoons floating around it as its special attack and special defense rose significantly.
Issei knew he had to act fast. "Reaper, use Dark Pulse!"
Mega Liepard's eyes glowed with dark energy as it unleashed a powerful wave of dark energy at Mega Alakazam. The attack struck hard, but Mega Alakazam's boosted defenses absorbed much of the damage.
"Alakazam, use Focus Blast!" Lucas countered.
Mega Alakazam's eyes snapped open, and it unleashed a powerful ball of concentrated energy. Reaper tried to dodge, but the attack was too fast and struck Mega Liepard head-on, sending it skidding back.
Issei grimaced. "Reaper, get up! We can't let them gain any more ground!"
Mega Liepard struggled to its feet, determination burning in its eyes. Issei knew he had to take a risk.
"Reaper, use Shadow Claw!"
Mega Liepard's claws elongated and glowed with dark energy once more as it lunged at Mega Alakazam. The powerful attack struck true, hitting Mega Alakazam hard.
Lucas frowned, realizing the danger of going offensive. "Alakazam, use Recover!"
Mega Alakazam began to glow, its wounds healing rapidly. Issei saw his opening.
"Reaper, now! Use Night Slash!"
Mega Liepard dashed forward with incredible speed, its claws glowing with dark energy as it slashed at Mega Alakazam. The attack landed, but Alakazam's boosted defenses absorbed much of the damage.
Lucas was unfazed by this, so he went next. "Alakazam, use Psychic!"
Mega Alakazam's eyes glowed intensely as it unleashed a massive wave of psychic energy. The attack was powerful, and Reaper was pushed back. It struggled to maintain its footing due to its Dark Typing preventing it from taking any damage, but the force was still pushing her back.
Issei clenched his fists as he then used Reaper's new move. "Reaper, we can't give up now! Use Sucker Punch!"
Mega Liepard anticipated Alakazam's next move, lunging forward with blinding speed and delivering a powerful punch infused with dark energy. The unexpected strike caught Mega Alakazam off guard, dealing significant damage.
Lucas gritted his teeth. "Alakazam, use Focus Blast again!"
Mega Alakazam gathered its energy and launched another powerful Focus Blast. Reaper, already weakened, couldn't dodge in time and was hit hard by the attack, skidding back but still standing, albeit barely.
Issei knew this was it and that he had to finish off Mega Alakazam as soon as possible. "Reaper, finish it with Shadow Pulse!"
With a final burst of energy, Mega Liepard unleashed a powerful wave of dark energy. The attack struck Mega Alakazam directly, and with a final cry, Alakazam fell to the ground, unable to continue.
Shadow Pulse: A combination of Dark Pulse and Shadow Claw.
"Alakazam is unable to battle! Liepard is the winner!" the referee declared.
Lucas recalled Mega Alakazam with a look of respect. "That was an incredible battle, Issei. Your skills and your bond with your Pokémon are truly remarkable."
Issei smiled, recalling Mega Liepard. "Thank you, Lucas. You were a formidable opponent. This battle was one to remember."
Kora watched from the sidelines, her admiration for Issei growing. 'He really is something special. Maybe I can learn from him and become stronger.'
With the battle concluded, Issei received the Saffron City Gym Badge, marking another victory on his journey.
Issei thanked Lucas for a good battle and wished his daughter luck on her training journey before he left with Kora before Issei's Pokephone began to ring.
"Hm?" Issei pulled out his phone and looked at the unknown number, which confused him before Issei answered the call.
"Who's this?"
[Someone interested in giving you an opportunity to become Champion faster.] Lance said, shocking Issei as he heard the name before Issei and Kora sat in the Pokémon Center while Issei continued chatting with Lance.
"And what do you mean by that?"
[I've taken a look at your track record, and granted, you almost defeated all of the Champions, but you still need to defeat Steven and me. However, after looking over your track record, I can tell you certainly have the skills to be a Champion of a region, but I can also tell you have some good business skills. This call is why I wish to give you a chance to not only become Champion faster but also to tell your Pokémon are much stronger than you let on. Like your Liepard and Charizard.]
"...What is your proposal?" Issei asked, unsure what the Champion of Kanto and Johto wanted before Lance continued.
[Simple. Continue to conquer a special Pokemon League that's just for you to battle my Elite Four and myself. After you defeat me, you can also battle the Elite Four of Stevens region and then Steven himself. And should you defeat Steven, then you'll have our stamps of approval to grant you the opportunity to become Champion of your region. What do you think?]
Lance was asking while looking out into the sea and saw the Champion Council League behind him, a place for the Champions to train or test other potential Champions of either their region or a new one that they can create.
The last new Champion was Iris, who defeated Alder and proved herself to the other champions. This made Lance think that Issei was the next Champion in the making, but he wanted to test him.
"But I still have to defeat your Gym Leaders, yes?"
[You could, or you can accept the invitation and take on both myself and Steven's Elite Four. Which would you prefer?] Lance asked, with Issei pondering the choices before seeing Kora be so excited at the opportunity and the possibility of asking for some assistance with the Paradox Pokemon.
"I'm in. Name the time and place." Issei said as his dragon side was excited, as was his Pokémon, to face the Champions since this is what they trained for their whole journey.
[I look forward to seeing you, Issei Hyoudou. Oh, and don't worry about Kora. She'll be able to come along as well since you want to ask about the Paradox Pokémon as well.
"Wait, you know about that? How?"
[I'll explain after you and your friend come here tomorrow. I'll send you the location so you can fly or teleport here. I know you are much stronger than you let on, Ddraig Y Goch. The other champions you defeated are thankful for your services in their regions.] Lance said, much to Issei's surprise, before keeping his question to himself since he had suspicions about who had told Lance about his secret identity.
"Very well, thank you for the opportunity, Lance."
[Likewise, since I've always wanted to meet the Red Dragon Emperor face to face.]
"See you tomorrow," Issei said before ending the call and then looking at Kora, who seemed excited for a reason until Issei put two and two together.
"You excited for tomorrow, huh?"
"Uh-huh."
Issei smiled and patted her head, making Kora purr a bit before Issei chuckled at her because Kora's purr sounded more like an engine starting up.
After the heat rubbed, Issei was able to regain his Pokémon, who had healed up before Issei smiled at Kora and asked,
"Say, Kora, since we're heading to the League tomorrow, do you want to join me in a fun activity?"
"Oh? What's that?"
"Let's see how long it takes us to defeat not just the remaining Kanto Gym Leaders but also the ones in Johto and Hoenn while avoiding my little brother and his friends?" Issei asked before whispering into Kora's ears, making a grin appear on her face as she was getting her engine revved up about speed-running gym leaders.
"When do we start?"
"Why not now?"
Issei asked before he snapped his fingers and teleported both of them to the next town and gym.
In under one hour, Kanto and Johto were defeated by a teleporting duo that challenged the Gym Leaders and defeated them with just one Pokémon.
Hoenn was even shorter. It took the duo forty-five minutes to defeat each of the Hoenn Gym Leaders, and Kora enjoyed the battling moments because they allowed her to use some of Issei's strategies to dominate her enemies and regain some of her powers.
While also enjoying the sights and cuisine of the places that interested them.
However, they made sure to avoid Ash, who was still traveling to his second gym battle, which made Issei feel proud of his little brother for defeating the gym leader Norman, who's normally the fifth trainer's battle after gaining the first four.
Issei and Kora noticed how little time had passed before they decided to pass the time by training together. Issei wanted to give his Pokémon a break before the Champion League.
"Until one submits?"
"Oh, you are on."
Kora said as she then ran at Issei and tried to use a Power-Up Punch on Issei, but the dragon was able to see it coming and countered it with his version of training he had from Kalos, thanks to Urshifu and his Sensei, Mustard.
Kora was excited by this before unleashing a Fire Blast at Issei, who barreled right through the flames. This made Kora seem more excited as she then unleashed her Close Combat, which made Issei counter with his own Close Combat. The force behind them blew back the trees around them, and Issei's current team was amazed by how their master was able to contend with a Mythical Pokémon.
"I'm not done yet!" Kora yelled as she backed away from Issei. She turned into a ball of fire and headed right towards Issei.
"Collision Course!" Kora yelled while spinning towards him, which made Issei smile. He took a deep breath and then branched himself into the ground, closing his eyes and picturing the lesson that his Sensei had taught him.
"Inner Peace will allow you to unlock even greater power that can defend not just oneself but also your loved ones. Picture yourself as a tree and brace for the impact." Mustard said while Issei was sparring with the two Urshifu's.
Issei pictured a raindrop falling towards a small flower before the raindrop landed on the leaf, causing Issei to block the attack, shocking Kora while seeing Issei's eyes open.
"After you braced for impact and the attack lands, absorb and channel the power of the attack through your arm to your other arm."
Issei concentrated as he absorbed the power behind the Collision Course. He sent the power from his left arm into his right arm, causing it to explode with power. Issei then sent the right hook into Kora, shocking her. She felt like her own Collision Course hit her, but its power was doubled.
Kora then flew into the forest of the destroyed trees until Issei took a deep breath and calmed himself before rushing over to see Kora's condition. Still, the dragon Pokémon came out of the trees with a broken left arm, blood coming down her right side, and her body was covered in bruises. Still, the one thing that stood out was Kora's smile as she enjoyed the battle before falling into Issei's arms, who caught her with gentleness until Kora looked at Issei with the same smile before speaking.
"My mate. Now and forever," Kora said before kissing Issei's lips, shocking the dragon until Kora let him go and fell asleep in his arms. This made Ryuga chuckle at its master before Issei glared at his Charizard.
"Don't even say it."
Ryuga nodded before whispering to his teammates, making the others laugh until Issei punched his Charizard, who was still laughing at his master's new mate until Issei began to tend to her injuries thanks to the lessons he learned from the healers of Past Sinnoh and Alola.
After their battle and Kora was patched up, Kora's respect for Issei grew even further. She marveled at his seamless coordination with his Pokémon, the unspoken understanding and trust that powered every move.
As well as how well he can throw a punch.
"That was exhilarating!" Kora exclaimed while not caring about her injuries, which were still healing. "You really do have a special bond with your Pokémon. And I can't believe how strong you are."
Issei grinned, his eyes sparkling with the thrill of their rapid victories as well as facing his new mate after informing his first mate/the alpha of the females in the harem, who were okay with it since she saw Kora as a strong woman that she'd love to dominate in the sheets.
"It's all about trust and understanding each other. But you did great, too, Kora. Your adaptability and instincts are incredible, too, as well as your skills in battle. You truly deserve the title of the Winged Queen."
Kora blushed slightly at the praise, her admiration for Issei evident. "Thank you. I still have a lot to learn, though. And I'm eager to see what challenges the Champion Council League will bring."
Issei nodded, his expression becoming serious. "Yes, facing Lance and Steven will be our toughest challenge yet. But I have faith in my team and in you, Kora."
The duo then relaxed with the Pokémon in the middle of the destroyed forest while enjoying their evening together.
The next day, Issei and Kora found themselves at the appointed location for the Champion Council League. The place was awe-inspiring, a grand arena surrounded by vast landscapes, a testament to the legendary battles that had taken place there.
Lance greeted them with a nod, his presence commanding and formidable. "Welcome, Issei. Kora. I trust your journey here was swift."
Issei smirked. "We made good time. Thanks for the opportunity, Lance."
Lance smiled, though his eyes remained serious. "You've proven yourself in battles, but this league will test your limits. Are you ready to face my Elite Four as well as Stevens before us?"
Issei's gaze was steely, his determination unwavering. "More than ever."
Kora stood by his side, her resolve solidified. "We're ready."
The duo said before Lance welcomed them to the arena, where the eight Elite Four members and Steven were ready. Before Lance joined them, the other Champions, Elite Four, and Gym Leaders cheered for both sides since this battle would be legendary.
Scene!
Some were interested in people seeing Giovanni versus Issei. Still, it would be a nice change to see Issei and Kora pull a speed run and prepare for the opportunity not only to battle the last three regions but also to battle the last three since I know Lance is the Champion of both Kanto and Johto. At the same time, Ash will be able to continue his Hoenn journey and will be training hard to face his brother one day in battle.
Issei's Pokémon, like the new Evolution, was an idea given to me by a friend of mine, Dnmonne. Check out his stories since they're really amazing.
Anyway, stay tuned for The Champion League Arc and Ash's second Gym battle against the Rock Type teacher and her pupil, May?!
Ta-Ta for now!
