Chapter One

*The idea I had for this story was before the Ross and Andy scene spoiler AND episode so imma use what was said there (in the Ross/Andy scene) but anything else is likely my own thoughts.

Andy and her team were making the trip to help out with the wildfire not too far away from Seattle. It was getting close to the city, and they were trying to stop it.

Ross had given Andy a group of probies fresh from the academy to order around. Andy was hesitant at first and didn't know how to feel about it. She already had 19 and that private company that Theo and Kate were in.

It was day two of fighting the fire when everything went from bad to worse. A couple of probies had been injured around where Robert was so Andy, Maya and Vic worked on getting the probies away from the fire and Maya and Vic brought them to the tent while Andy helped Robert get out of the fire that was quickly closing in on them while she picked up the gear that she dropped but by the time she did and looked back up, she was surrounded by the flames.

Andy tried to look through the flames and saw Robert standing up, limping and she could see his lips moving and assumed he was calling for help. Andy looked around, coughing, seeing if there was anything she could do but quickly gave up hope. She didn't have a fire blanket and she knew that if they tried to put out the flames around her, she would burn up and die but right now it was looking like she was going to die anyway. She coughed and could feel the smoke burning her lungs. She let the tears form. This was not how she wanted to go. She just made captain. She was just getting her life back together. She was good with her mother, she was great with her Tia and Tio and her relationship with her sister-cousin was as good as it ever was.

Andy looked up again, feeling the fire start to burn her skin. She watched as Vic and Maya came running, stopping when they got to where Sullivan was. Andy was getting weaker. She could feel her lungs beginning to close and fell down onto a knee.

While Andy was trapped in the fire Maya and Vic radioed for Chief Ross to come and soon Ben, Theo, and the rest of 19 had come and seen what was going on.

"Chief, will we be able to back a truck up and go over the flames? We did a similar thing with a blue fire years back and it worked." Vic asked, panic growing as she saw Andy fall over. Ross was silent for a moment before nodding.

"We need to try. We need to try to get her and trying to put out the fire will only make the flames spread and burn her more than she probably already is." Ross said.

"We know!" Maya exclaimed. "Sorry. Sorry. I'll get the truck and bring it over. Vic and Ben, grab a backboard and an oxygen mask and come with me. We need to work fast." Maya said, already running off.

Ross and Sullivan turned back to the flames and when they couldn't see Andy anymore, they looked at each other.

We may be too late. Both of them thought. Sullivan heard a honk come from the truck and he and Ross moved back, letting Maya back up with Vic and Warren standing on the back, ready to get Andy up and out of the flames.

Ben and Vic moved quickly. They saw burns on Andy's neck and one of her hands and lifted her onto a backboard, they put a fire blanket over her and the two of them, with help from Ross and Maya, loaded her onto the truck and then covered her mouth and nose with an oxygen mask as Sullivan drove the truck away from the fire, his leg injury having not been too serious.

"Get us to the closest hospital, Sully," Ross asked of her fiancé, getting in the passenger seat while Ben joined them in the back while Maya and Vic stayed with Andy on the top. They both knew it wasn't safe, but they had to move quickly, and it would take too long for all of them to load up in the truck.

When they got to the hospital, it was one they had never heard of which made them worried. Ben immediately made a call to Miranda, asking her to come with Meredith, if possible, because he wasn't sure if the doctors there could be trusted.

When they got to the hospital, they were forced to go into the waiting room and they all collapsed into chairs, exhausted.

"She's going to be okay, right?" Vic asked. "She has to be o-kay." Vic's voice cracked.

I don't know how realistic driving over the fire with the truck is, but I mean they did it in season one with a blue, gas fire so…
