Author's Note: Welcome to part 1 of my story. I hope you enjoy. Giyushino shippers, let's just pretend that this is how it goes.
Giyuu Tomioka was a solemn man with a straight face that was always so difficult to read. He liked to keep to himself and was sure good at hiding his inner emotions with his ever so stoic expressions and everyone despised him for it.
For many years he had served as a demon slayer and during those years he had watched so many accomplices die that it was beginning to unfortunately become a regular event. He had sympathies for those who had passed before him… but he didn't know how best to express it. In his heart he felt a lot of pain and a lot of guilt. He had a bad habit of sometimes blaming himself for the death of many comrades who had been murdered by demons. Perhaps if he had been stronger, faster, wiser… then maybe there would've been a chance for them…
Giyuu was already a very strong and extremely capable pillar. He was a valued Hashira and member of the demon slayer corps but he had low self esteem and was always so hard on himself when he felt that there was always more that he could do to become more useful such as more training, go on more missions without breaks in between, find and slaughter more horrible demons that tormented this world. He had a hard time allowing himself to sleep when he knew that somewhere out there, a demon was on the prowl.
Giyuu sat kneeling on the floor of his practically empty and very bland house. It was very isolated from the other pillar estates which he actually was grateful for. He liked the quiet and he liked being alone. He sat in silence as he listened to the peaceful sounds of the birds and wind. He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing. He was at peace… focusing on how he could improve his breathing technique to hone it to its full potential.
*knock knock knock
Giyuu heard the knocking at his door but he refused to acknowledge it. He was busy right now and had not been expecting guests so whoever was at his door could return later.
"Giyuu-san!" He heard Tanjirou call out from the gate.
'Tanjirou? What could he be wanting?' Giyuu wondered.
"Giyuu-san! Are you home!?"
'No. Go away.'
"Giyuu-sannnnnnn!"
Giyuu felt a vein in his forehead begin to pop much like Kochou's. Tanjirou was such a persistent kid but he would leave soon if he continued to ignore him. Giyuu kept quiet, his eyes closed and returned to focus on his breathing… A couple minutes later he heard the light brush of the door sliding open and Giyuu opened one eye slightly to see Tanjirou peeking through the doorway with a wide smile on his face. Giyuu looked at him awkwardly as Tanjirou saw him and welcomed himself inside to greet him.
"Good morning Giyuu-san! Could you hear me before? I was calling out your name for a while."
Giyuu stayed quiet as Tanjirou took that as a no and sat himself down in front of Giyuu to join him. Though only slightly annoyed at Tanjirou's intrusion, he wasn't about to be rude and kick the kid out so he listened to what Tanjirou had to say and by the end of it, he realized that Tanjirou wasn't going to quit at trying to persuade him to join in on the Hashira training.
For the next few days Tanjirou visited him at his estate with words of offers and persuasion and Giyuu seriously questioned why he was doing this? Giyuu had refused every time he had asked but the kid just kept coming back using "dropping off food" as an excuse. Eventually, after about a week of Tanjirou welcoming himself unannounced at weird hours, Giyuu just locked the doors to give him a hint but even then! He would find Tanjirou talking to him from outside of the window or staying on his porch until Giyuu was forced to come out…
This was getting very annoying and even though Giyuu stated clearly that he would not be joining in the Hashira training… Tanjirou liked to play the long game and he knew he wouldn't give up until he had convinced him to join.
It was at night time when Giyuu was doing his usual… sitting on his mat and again, focusing on his breathing technique through peaceful meditation when he heard a couple of loud knocks rapping against the door.
'Tanjirou…' he internally groaned.
Giyuu ignored the knocking. If Tanjirou wanted to stay outside his porch all night, so be it. He would not give in. The knocking continued for a little while before finally, he had given up and the peaceful silence filled the air again.
"That's why no one likes you Tomioka-san. Pure rudeness!" A voice that was definitely not Tanjirou's called out…
Giyuu immediately brought his breathing to a halt and got to his feet to answer the door. When he opened it he, to his surprise, saw the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kochou kneeling down next to Tanjirou who was laying down on the porch and had looked like he had just been woken up. Kochou had brought a blanket with her and had wrapped it around Tanjirou who was shivering against the cold.
"You slept out here?" Giyuu asked, genuinely concerned for his mentality as it was freezing.
"Yes. It was the only way I would be able to catch you Giyuu-san." Tanjirou said happy to see him.
Shinobu shot Giyuu a look that showed annoyance through her forced smile.
"I didn't know he was sleeping outside…" Giyuu said to her in his monotone voice.
Shinobu ignored him and helped Tanjirou to stand up. Giyuu immediately felt guilty as the kid looked freezing and disheveled. He was also recovering from his injuries and still required crutches for support.
"Please return to the butterfly mansion and have Aoi check you over Tanjirou-kun." Kochou ordered.
"It's alright Shinobu-sama. I'm fine! I must continue trying to convince Giyuu-san to join us in the Hashira training!"
Shinobu gave him a warm smile that made him blush slightly.
"Don't you worry about that. I've actually come here to do just that as well, how about we take turns? You shouldn't be pushing yourself so hard right now… especially whilst recovering from your injuries."
Tanjirou gave Shinobu a beaming smile, seeming to love the idea of taking turns. Though always having a positive attitude he was beginning to feel a bit irritated by Giyuu's stubbornness. He was getting nowhere so perhaps an equal like Shinobu would be the best person to talk him into joining in.
"Yes Shinobu-sama! Great idea! I'm counting on you!"
Shinobu nodded as Tanjirou waved goodbye to the two Hashira and began making his way back to the butterfly mansion.
Once Tanjirou was out of sight, Shinobu turned around to face the water Hashira who had just made an injured kid whom she actually adored sleep outside in the cold on his hard porch. Giyuu gave her his usual stoic look but with Shinobu… he felt it was a bit easier to let loose a little. He frowned at her.
"Why are you giving me that look? I already told you I didn't know he had been sleeping out here…" Giyuu said to her. "There's no point in you trying to convince me to join in too… I've made up my mind. I'm not joini-"
"Shut up. It's cold out here. Let's go inside." Shinobu interrupted as she pushed past his large frame and entered his house without being invited in…
This was the first time another Hashira had actually been to his house… Giyuu followed her and closed the door behind him. He kept his eyes on her as she quietly walked around observing the emptiness of it all. There was little to no decoration and everything was very bland… much to the suit of Tomioka Giyuu who never really had any particular likes or interests anyway.
"It's just as I expected. Cold and neutral just like you." Shinobu said teasingly.
Giyuu was used to her teasing comments. He knew that every time she provoked him like that she was just looking to get a reaction out of him so it brought him much joy in dissatisfying her by not reacting at all and staying silent with the same expression.
He went back to kneeling on the floor, closing his eyes and focusing on his breathing again, completely ignoring Kochou's presence. He was going to act like she was not there at all for if there was anyone more annoying to him than Tanjirou… it was definitely going to be Kochou.
In a split second just as he had closed his eyes, he felt her presence right by his side. Her face was inches from his and she reached out her hand to poke his shoulder repeatedly.
"Oh I'm sorry… am I disrupting you?" She asked.
Giyuu kept his eyes closed and refused to show any reaction as she continued to jab her finger into his shoulder.
"Not at all." He slipped out.
Shinobu smirked and let out a little giggle that he felt brush up against his ear. He couldn't help but feel his blood and temper run a little hotter as he knew that this was only a tiny display of how annoying she could be and something about her tone told him that she was just getting started with him. She reminded him of not a peaceful butterfly but a buzzing blowfly hovering around him.
Giyuu was silent, putting all his attention on his breathing technique. He steadied his heart and emptied his mind as he slowly inhaled and exhaled.
"What are you trying to do?" Shinobu asked him. She had stopped poking him now.
Had she already given up her attempts at annoying him into joining the Hashira training? Or was this a part of another one of her annoying schemes? He decided to continue ignoring her and went along with his own training.
"You're gonna act like I'm not here?" Shinobu asked him after a while of silence.
Giyuu felt internal pleasure at hearing her sigh and sensing her slight annoyance at him for ignoring her and practically pretending that she was invisible. That's what she deserved! A taste of her own medicine. Giyuu's sly smirk faded as he suddenly felt her hands gently pressing against his back as she began massaging his shoulders. His eyes snapped open and his head quickly whipped around to look at her.
She was now kneeling behind him with her hands gently massaging him.
"Now I've got your attention haven't I?" Shinobu said, smirking at him. It was her turn to take satisfaction in seeing her able to break his composure.
"Kochou… What are you doing?" Giyuu asked her, having completely forgotten about his intent to ignore her as soon as he felt her hands on him.
"Helping you. You have a lot of tension right here." Shinobu said tracing her finger along a particularly tensed spot in his shoulder blades and back. "The tension and the knots is what is stopping you from being able to breathe more clearly."
Giyuu felt taken aback… for once she was actually genuinely helping him and not doing something to annoy or tease him… he continued looking at her face and that was when Shinobu looked up from genuinely focusing on the tension of his back to he who was almost gazing at her and they locked eyes. Giyuu suddenly felt a rush of butterflies charge through his stomach as he realized just how beautiful Kochou was… he had always known she was a sight to look at but… he never really felt attraction towards her until now… or perhaps he had always felt attracted to her but was only now just properly realizing it…
Their gaze was starting to get rather long and Shinobu pressed her fingers gently to his cheek to turn his face forward.
"Don't strain your neck like that… keep breathing and feel the difference as I massage your shoulders. Trust me, you'll immediately notice the improvement."
Giyuu, though feeling his heart rapidly increasing pace, did as she bid and went back to focusing on his breathing and just as she had said… his airways were much clearer and it was easier to relax and focus.
"See… Do you feel that? Your lungs are able to expand better without much tension blocking them."
Giyuu let out a relaxed sigh and immediately felt relief. Never had he thought that Kochou would help him out in such an intimate way. Her hands on his back were perfect and he found himself suddenly craving more of her touch. Without thinking, he pressed his back further against her so that he could feel more of her. Shinobu, at first a little surprised but then welcoming to him, began massaging his arms by caressing her small hands against them. Giyuu loved the feeling. Her hands were so gentle and warm.
They sat like that for a while as both of them felt a slurry of feelings swimming in their stomachs however their minds were numb without thought and their bodies were moving purely on instinct.
Shinobu suddenly slipped her arms under Giyuu's so she could wrap them around his waist and pull his back against her chest as she rested her chin on his shoulder.
Giyuu froze and his cheeks turned red… Shinobu was… hugging him from behind and resting her chin on his shoulder… like… like what lovers do…
"Is that better?" Shinobu whispered in his ear.
Giyuu felt his skin go hot at the feel of her warm breath brushing against his ear and her arms connecting around his waist. He breathed a shaky breath and that pretty much answered Shinobu's question.
"I'm glad I could help you." She said in a sweet tone.
Giyuu felt her lips lightly graze against the side of his cheek before she gave him exactly three soft pecks. Her gentle lips pressing against his hot cheek made a fire ignite within him. He wasn't familiar with this feeling… he wanted to all of a sudden take back any way he had ever treated Kochou that ever made her feel disrespected. In all those times they had been together for a joint mission… all those risky moments that they had been separated to battle demons he suddenly wished to take back as her life was all too precious to be put on the line. He wanted to protect her. To make sure she lived a full and happy life no matter what. Her life was more important than his and he would do anything to make sure she lived.
"I didn't actually come here tonight to persuade you to join in the Hashira training… that is your choice. I was just… worried about you being alone." Shinobu spoke barely louder than a whisper.
Giyuu sat still and stiff. His mind had never been more clear. His heart opened to the butterfly woman and he immediately for the first time knew what being in love felt like. In an instant this new feeling and possessiveness of her came over him. He wanted to show it to her just as she had shown her affections to him.
Giyuu grasped hold of her hands that connected around his waist and brought them up to his lips. He pressed multiple kisses to them whilst holding them tightly and caressing his thumb against them. There were no words that were exchanged and eventually, Kochou slipped her hands away from his grasp and in an instant, she was gone and he felt somewhat changed. Whatever she wanted was his main priority now and if that meant he would have to join in the Hashira training, then he would do it.
The following day at the Hashira meeting that happened before every training session daily, all the Hashira were extremely surprised when the great and stoic Tomioka Giyuu appeared before them intending to join them. He didn't say anything.
Sanemi and Obanai gave him a scowling look while the others looked rather pleased to see Tomioka had finally decided to join them after all this time of brooding and protest.
Giyuu sat himself in line with the others before their master, Ubuyashiki who sensed his presence.
"Tomioka. It brings me much joy to hear that you are joining us today. Does this mean you are officially taking part in the Hashira training?" Ubuyashiki asked.
"Yes master." Giyuu confirmed.
Giyuu scanned his eyes around the room subtly noting that Shinobu whom he had expected to see wasn't present.
"Where is Kochou?" Giyuu asked.
"Kochou won't be participating in the Hashira training." Ubuyashiki stated.
Giyuu's face immediately dropped which every Hashira noticed and became suspicious of. It was as if everything stopped including time itself and everyone could sense the sudden tension and change of attitude that came off the water Hashira. The mood became unpleasant. .
WHAT!?
Giyuu suddenly felt extremely confused and a blast of overwhelming emotions exploded inside of him. His heart ached and his stomach dropped. Was last night all an act? Another one of her ploys to get him to agree to join the Hashira training even when she herself was being a hypocrite by not participating!?
Giyuu felt his gut clench with hurt and regret. What she said last night… what she did… it was all a part of her plan to get him to join the Hashira training… that was all it took to make him give in so easily. He felt like a fool for trusting her. He was usually so intuitive and knew when a person was lying… Shinobu had got the best of him. He balled his fists and clenched his teeth. He overheard a few of the Hashira whispering to each other about his reaction but he didn't care at all. Shinobu had tricked him and he was furious. He let that woman see a different side of him that he had never revealed to anyone and she had done him dirty.
After the meeting, Giyuu had never felt more enraged. Shinobu… she had practically deceived him and had taken advantage of his more vulnerable and sensitive side. How could she do something so wicked? Did she despise him that much? It was humiliating and incredibly hurtful.
A week had gone by since Giyuu had last seen Kochou. He hadn't attempted to visit and he was more angry that neither did she. It made him pissed that she wouldn't even come around to explain herself or at least tease him and rub in her victory of how she had managed to make him agree after all.
During that week he had begun participating in the Hashira training and he had taken his anger out on the demon slayers. The Water Hashira's training was now the most feared and dreaded by all, even more so than Sanemi's! Giyuu's training was practically torture and near impossible to pass. Even Tanjirou, who had been so excited to take part, was dreading every moment of it.
It seemed that no one knew why Giyuu, who was usually so neutral, had turned into a hot headed and overall angry person. Even Sanemi and Obanai treaded lightly around him though they actually in secret preferred this version of Tomioka.
Two weeks had gone by now and who knew that the water Hashira could hold such a grudge? Several of his disciples had endured such hazardous training sessions to such dangerous extents under him that they had ended up on the verge of literal death and had been sent to the butterfly mansion for immediate emergency care. Because of this, the numbers were gradually dropping… no one tried talking to Giyuu as he was too at odds to approach… no one knew what to expect if they tried… so they just let him be hoping that Ubuyashiki could get to the bottom of things although he was frail and bedridden most of the time.
If any of the Hashira were going to talk to Giyuu it would be Shinobu who would be the best option… but no one had seen her in weeks either. They had sent Mitsuri to go and talk to her and explain what was happening with Giyuu and Shinobu acted on it by sending Aoi to speak with Giyuu on her behalf.
After a training session, Giyuu who had on his now considered regular angry face as of late and he who wore no Haori or upper garments, just pants and shoes, was approached by one of Kochou's girls… the one with the pigtails.
"What do you want?" Giyuu asked her in a rude tone as she came within a few feet of him.
Aoi, a little taken aback by his upfront hostile attitude, narrowed her eyes to match his anger and put her hands on her hips.
"What do you think you are doing!? You keep putting the demon slayers who are training under you in life threatening situations! The hospital is already full and Shinobu-sama is working endlessly trying to save their lives! What are you playing at Tomioka-san!?" Aoi said, raising her voice.
At the mention of Shinobu's name, Giyuu only got more mad.
"It's my method of training the weak bunch! If they wanna stand a chance against the demons then they need to be able to handle it! And so what if Kochou is working tirelessly! It's not like she's busy doing anything else!" Giyuu retorted back.
"Shinobu-sama is very busy preparing for the battle! And I will remind you to check your tone when speaking about her." Aoi stated in a defensive tone.
"If Kochou has something to say then get her to come and say it to my face and not send one of her little minions in her place."
Aoi screwed up her face, clearly offended by that last bit.
"I'm not her minion and I'm worried about her! She's not well and you're making it a hundred times harder for everyone!"
Giyuu could care less at what this child had to say. It was as if her words were going in one ear and out the other. He scowled and turned his back on her.
"Like I said, if she has something to say. Get her to say it to my face."
Aoi gave Giyuu an angry glare before deciding that this argument wasn't worth her time and she stomped off back to the butterfly mansion. She would be sure to tell her master all about how rude Tomioka was to her.
It was later in the evening and Giyuu had just finished running a hot bath, getting ready to bathe after a long and hard training day. He sat on the edge of the tub ignoring his aching muscles and throbbing bruises. He glared into thin air with a lot on his mind. Lately he hadn't been feeling like his usual self. He was angry about everything and he found this wasn't a small thing that he could just get over.
A quiet knock came at his door and he was pissed at someone for interrupting him. He groaned, marching over to the door. He yanked it open to see Kochou standing before him. Her typical smile was gone, her skin was very pale and her eyes were dark with circles. She looked exhausted and sickly… Giyuu immediately froze at the sight of her having not expected to see her in such a different state than last time… there was a moment's silence as they both just looked at one another with different signs of remorse… Shinobu quickly averted her eyes to look at the ground as she noticed Giyuu was shirtless.
"Aoi… she told me what you said… I'm so sorry I haven't come to see you in weeks… I've been… well… I haven't been well and… a lot of demon slayers get injured from your training sessions and I've been working around the clock to make sure that they're cared for… and…" Shinobu started to cry… tears spilled from her eyes as Giyuu still stood frozen, a little taken aback to see her cry all of a sudden… he had never seen her cry before…
"-and I haven't slept in days… I'm sorry… I don't know why you hate me all of a sudden… if you're mad at me then we can discuss it right now but please… don't take out your anger on the demon slayers and especially not on one of my girls." She finished in a soft and brokenly sweet tone.
Giyuu all of a sudden felt a huge rush of guilt run through his bones. She had become sickly because of him… because he had been making things harder for her… it was his fault she was in such a state… Giyuu's face sank with a sudden sadness as his heart ached.
"Because… because… you tricked me that night… you only did those things to make me agree to take part in the Hashira training…" Giyuu quietly explained in a stern yet vulnerable tone.
Shinobu's jaw dropped slightly at his words as a look of confusion overtook her face.
"Are you serious? That's the reason why you have been sending your disciples to the hospital? That's the reason for your anger?"
Giyuu stayed silent and averted eye contact with her as she sighed. Was he wrong though? That's how it seemed to him… Shinobu immediately reached out to hold his hand in a reassuring way. She brought it to her chest and clutched it in both of her palms causing him to look back up at her as she looked deeply into his eyes.
"Tomioka-san… I would never deceive you like that. Sure I like to tease you but I am not so evil as to ever do such a despicable act. I told you that I only came to your house that night because I worry for you when you are alone… I just care about you a lot and… please don't think that I would ever do that to you…" Shinobu spoke through sobs as she now felt incredibly hurt that he would think her so low as to play with his oh so sensitive heart.
Giyuu instinctively couldn't help but grab her in his arms and hugged her small frame tightly to him. Shinobu wrapped her arms around him, hugging him back and quietly cried into his chest. Giyuu kissed the top of her head over and over.
"I'm so sorry… I thought you had played me on to get me to take part in the Hashira training…" He gently spoke. "That thought really destroyed me even though now I realize how stupid I was to think that… I was just really hurt… I'm so sorry… are you okay baby? You look exhausted… let me help you like you did for me last time."
Giyuu brought her inside of his house and first made her a hot meal to eat. Just from that moment of clearing everything up all his anger was now replaced with only devotion and care for her. He made what he was best at, salmon daikon which was seared to perfection. He was a very good cook and Shinobu was pleasantly surprised when he presented her with a plate full of food that looked amazing. She ate everything on her and thanked him for cooking for her. She had lost a little bit of weight and had told him that she didn't have much time to eat… he promised he would bring her meals directly to her if that was the case. He hated hearing that she was almost constantly starving and neglecting her needs in order to take care of others. She was so generous and kind in that retrospect.
Giyuu then helped her to take a bath. He gave her a couple of fresh warm towels that he had heated by the fire and then gave her one of his spear nightshirts for her to change into afterwards. It was now night time and he refused to let her walk home. He didn't want her to go home as her home was also the hospital where he knew she would have to work endlessly through the night again which he just couldn't accept. He was gonna make sure she slept tonight.
Giyuu bathed himself after her and when he walked out freshly bathed and dressed in one of his plain navy night shirts and grey pajama pants, he saw that she had already set up the futon and was sitting up comfortably staring at him with her usual smile now. Already she looked so much better and more refreshed than before.
"Are you feeling better?" Giyuu asked her.
"Much, thank you. Come." Shinobu said sweetly as she reached her hand out towards him.
It turned him on to see her wearing one of his nightshirts that was too big for her while she waited for him to join her in bed. He cautiously made his way towards her and climbed in to lay by her side. Shinobu snuggled up to him and he pulled the covers up over them both. It felt natural, as if they had been doing this for a long time. Giyuu pulled her in tightly as she wrapped her arms around him and laid against his chest. He combed his fingers through her hair, tucking loose strands behind her ear and she fell asleep almost immediately. He kissed her head and whispered apologies to her for thinking such horrible things about her. He watched over her as she slept. Holding her and being careful to not let the blanket slip from her shoulders. He massaged her back and arms while she slept. He wanted to soothe her aching body as much as possible.
The next morning Shinobu woke up feeling better rested than ever. Giyuu had been caressing her arm and smiled at her and kissed her nose as a good morning when he noticed that she was now awake.
"Thank you…" she whispered to him.
"No need to thank me." Giyuu said in a loving tone.
He continued to press kisses against her face while hugging her. He kissed her cheeks, her forehead, her nose… then she suddenly captured his lips with hers as he was about to kiss her cheek again. They both closed their eyes as for the first time they were able to feel just how good it felt feeling the touch of each other's lips on their own. Their lips moulded together perfectly.
When the kiss broke, Giyuu brought his palm up to caress her cheek and Shinobu leaned into it. Their gaze said it all, they were so in love with one another. Giyuu moved closer to her to kiss her again and she replied lovingly following his lead.
The kiss grew deeper as Giyuu held her face and pressed it deeper into his. This moment meant everything. They both wanted to show each other just how they felt for one another. She felt his tongue entangled with hers and he felt himself getting aroused the more that they kissed. It had been years since he had last had a sexual encounter and he had never done it with someone that he had true feelings for so the adrenaline and the blood pumping through him felt a lot more intense.
Giyuu gently pushed her against the futon so that he was now hovering over her and he pressed kisses down her jawline until he reached her neck where he began suckling and kissing at it. Shinobu breathed heavily and quietly moaned as he sucked and nipped until he left a bruise. A mark that signified that she was his.
Giyuu made his way back to her lips and Shinobu wrapped her arms around his neck to draw him in closer. She wrapped her legs around his waist to guide him between her thighs and Giyuu groaned at the feel of his rock hard erection rubbing against her heat. She began rocking her hips and Giyuu groaned with pleasure. It felt too good and they hadn't even removed their clothes! He matched her rhythm and they both were drawing each other in wanting more.
Shinobu grabbed Giyuu's hand while their mouths were all over each other and placed it on her breast. Annoyed with the fabric being in the way he slid his hand underneath her shirt so as to feel her mounds entirely. Shinobu moaned as Giyuu caressed the soft flesh and pinched her nipple while grinding hard against her. He lowered his face to kiss her breasts through the fabric and Shinobu moaned, loving the feel of his face pressed against her chest.
She reached down between them and cupped his hard cock in her hand and began stroking it through his pants. Giyuu groaned, coming to a halt at the feel of her bare hand stroking his wanting arousal. He lavished at her lips, giving her a rough and sloppy kiss like it was his first but she loved the feel of his mouth and tongue all over hers. She reached inside of his pants and pulled him out causing Giyuu to groan against her lips. He was dripping with pre cum and his cock was hot and in need of release.
Shinobu opened her legs and drew him in closer again so that he was aligned with her dripping entrance.
"Wait… baby… wait…" Giyuu said, brushing his palm against her cheek and looking into her eyes lustfully yet entirely serious. "Are you sure?"
Shinobu nodded and wrapped her legs around his waist once more so that the tip of his cock poked at her entrance. Giyuu had to grit his teeth to not let out a loud moan. The feel of his dick against her wet core made him shudder with desire. She brought his face to hers so that she could kiss him softly.
"I want you baby…" Shinobu said to him through their kiss and that was enough to almost take him to the edge.
He reached down, never breaking the kiss and keeping his lips pressed to hers as he aligned himself to her soaking entrance. The feel of just the tip of his penis brushing against her was delicious. He rubbed himself against her clit to stimulate her further and she moaned against his mouth. With a final reassuring look, Giyuu held her hand and pushed inside of her, careful to go slow as he was rather large compared to her.
Shinobu broke their kiss to lean her head back and silently moan. Inch by inch pleasure mixed with just a small amount of pain shot through her and she clutched onto Giyuu's hand tighter. Their bodies finally became connected entirely and it was the most perfect moment. Shinobu buried her head into his neck and whimpered. He was now fully sheathed inside of her and it took everything in him to not just ram himself to completion. Her pleasure was more important than his.
After a little while when he knew she was more comfortable with him inside her, Giyuu slowly rocked his hips and they both moaned at the feeling. He turned his head slightly to kiss her ear.
"Can I go faster?" He asked her, bringing his lips close to her ear.
Shinobu nodded and encouraged him by wrapping her arms and legs tightly around him. She pulled at his hair as he picked up the pace and thrusted deeper and harder into her. For a moment he forgot where he was and became very rough with her as each thrust shot pleasure through them both. He gripped her hips tightly and slammed himself hard and fast into her focusing on helping them both to reach their climax.
Shinobu cried out in pleasure as he reached her sweet spot.
"Right there baby?" Giyuu whispered in such a dark and seductive voice that it made shivers run through Shinobu's spine. Who knew he could be so suave.
He made sure to hit that same spot over and over until he felt her walls clench around him and she came on a silent moan. At the feel of her orgasm, a couple more thrusts and Giyuu came inside of her, his cock shooting jets of creamy white cum deep into her womb.
He collapsed on top of her, he hadn't ever cum so hard in his life. This was the most pleasure they had both felt in all their years they had been alive. Shinobu wrapped her arms around him and brushed her fingers through his hair as he laid against her chest.
"Thank you baby." Giyuu said, leaning his forehead against hers and then pressing a kiss to her lips. "I love you." He said, meaning it with all his heart.
Shinobu smiled at him. "I love you too." And she meant it just as much as he did. Giyuu crushed his lips to hers and they just kissed for a while, demonstrating each other's devotion to one another.
Giyuu leaned back and pulled his cock out of her and a flood of his cum mixed with her juices followed, dripping down her thighs.
"I'm sorry… I didn't ask if it was okay to cum inside of you…" Giyuu said, laying down next to her and pulling her into his chest.
"It's okay… I shouldn't be able to get pregnant with the current medicine I'm taking anyway."
Pregnant. Oh how wonderful it would be to have a child with the woman that he loved. He envisioned a pregnant Shinobu with a full round belly… it brought a smile to his face. However… Now was not the time to be thinking about that. One day he would get her pregnant and together they would have a family. He imagined them having the most perfect life with the most beautiful babies. A most perfect dream. They both fell asleep with the same thought in mind.
A few hours later, Shinobu woke up again and she was still laying against her lover's chest wrapped in his warm embrace. The sun was high and it was now what looked like to be late noon! Giyuu was still quietly sleeping. They had both fallen asleep again and neglected to get up for their duties…
Shit. Everyone at the butterfly mansion would be looking for her. She was late and even Lady Tamayo was probably waiting for her to start with their project…
Shinobu glanced up at Giyuu's innocent sleeping face which she found adorable. He looked so peaceful when he slept. Shinobu leaned her head up to give him a soft peck against his cheek as she carefully moved to slip out of his arms without disturbing his slumber.
She walked toward the wash room and hurried to clean herself up a bit before changing back into her regular corps uniform. After washing up and doing her hair, she walked back out to Giyuu's room to see that he was still fast asleep. He must be exhausted. In truth, the two of them could probably sleep until the next morning if only they could.
Shinobu smirked and walked over to the futon. She knelt down next to him and gently nudged his shoulder. Giyuu quietly woke up and he sat up now realizing that she was fully clothed and prepared for work… much to his disappointment…
"Are you leaving?" Giyuu asked her sadly. "You should've woken me up when you woke up, I would've helped you to get ready."
Shinobu smirked and raised a brow. "Had I done that I'm certain it would've taken much longer than the time it took me to get dressed by myself." She said with a quiet chuckle. "I have to get back to the butterfly mansion."
"Ok baby, would you like me to bring you anything you might need or want? I can come by." Giyuu asked.
Shinobu smiled at him and pressed her forehead to his and kissed his lips. Giyuu placed his palm against her cheek lovingly and caressed it with his thumb. It worried him that she was returning to the butterfly mansion where she would have to work endlessly.
"No thank you. I should be fine. But thank you for last night. This is the best I have felt in years…" Shinobu truly spoke.
"I'm glad. I could say the same… Shinobu, come back tonight. It worries me that you don't find sleep and barely eat at the butterfly mansion."
Shinobu gave Giyuu a sweet smile and placed her hand on top of his. He was so caring for her.
"I'll come back if I can." She replied but something in her tone suggested that it was unlikely.
Giyuu nodded and they shared a final kiss goodbye. Shinobu stood up and grabbed her haori as she left Giyuu's house and started towards the butterfly mansion. Giyuu soon followed and dressed himself to get ready for another day of Hashira Training.
A few days had gone by and Giyuu hadn't heard a word from Shinobu. He was really worried for her and after the love that they had shared… he had expected to see her more. On the plus side, his Hashira training was now highly favored by all the demon slayers as they found it to be where they could improve best. Giyuu was now being more of a teacher and he was much more patient and understanding of his disciples. Everyone had wondered what had changed but they didn't care to ask, they were just glad that they weren't being sent to the hospital anymore.
After almost two weeks coming without hearing anything from his love along with missing her and being worried for her deeply, one day, his patience could only hold out for so long and he purposely held back after a Hashira meeting to speak privately with Mitsuri. Obanai, who everyone knew had a crush on the love Hashira except for the love Hashira herself, was livid seeing him hang back to speak with Mitsuri while everyone else left.
"Kanroji-san…" Giyuu spoke.
Mitsuri could hardly believe it! Giyuu Tomioka was actually addressing her!? How could this be possible!?
"Who? Me?" Mitsuri asked, pointing at herself and looking around to see if maybe he had said the wrong name or something.
"Yes… I was hoping to ask you something…"
Mitsuri looked around, noticing that they were alone. She could hardly believe her ears. What could the water Hashira want?
"Sure Tomioka-san… what was it you were wanting to ask?"
Giyuu held his tongue and hesitated for a short moment. He and Shinobu hadn't really made things official yet and everything between them was still kept private, just between them. He wondered if it would be okay to ask Mitsuri about her? Would he come across as obvious?
"Is this about Shinobu-sama?" Mitsuri asked interrupting his thoughts.
Giyuu groaned in shock. How did she know!? Mitsuri laughed at his shocked expression.
"Tomioka-san, I am the love Hashira. I can always sense when two people are in love."
Giyuu sighed in defeat as although Mitsuri was indeed, the love Hashira, she wasn't exactly the brightest when it came to recognising when someone was head over heels for herself.
"Yes. It is. I'm worried about her. How come she doesn't join in the Hashira meetings? Why does she never leave the butterfly mansion as of late?"
It was as if a cat had caught her tongue as Mitsuri suddenly turned pink and looked as though she was keeping a big secret from him. Giyuu raised a brow to her in question.
"How should I know? She's your girlfriend! You should know!" Mitsuri blurted out in a high pitched voice all of a sudden.
"Well… I don't know… I haven't seen her in days and haven't really gotten the opportunity to ask her. I was hoping you could tell me since you two are best friends…"
Mitsuri gritted her teeth as if she was fighting against telling the truth. This only made Giyuu more suspicious.
"Sorry Tomioka-san… I have no idea why Shinobu-sama isn't taking part in the Hashira training… Now sorry to be abrupt but you must excuse me. It's about time for lunch and I am starving. Nice talking with you." Mitsuri spoke rather quickly and ran away as if it were her only chance to escape.
Giyuu was left more confused than ever. What was Shinobu keeping from him? Why had Mitsuri acted that way? He had always found her to be quite odd but not in a secretive type of way. All the other Hashira were gone… there was no one to really ask now. He would have to go to the Butterfly mansion himself. He had avoided visiting her privately at her home as to not provoke any attention towards them and to respect her space unless called upon but now… he just had to see her.
Later in the evening, Giyuu decided that he would go to the butterfly mansion tonight to visit Shinobu and ask her himself. He prepared a bento for her filled with rice and meat with plenty of vegetables to look like an excuse for him visiting at night if her girls were to question him.
Giyuu walked in the moonlight to the butterfly mansion and saw that the lights were dimly lit and the house itself didn't seem to be too active. He knocked at the front door and soon he was confronted by Aoi…
"State your business water Hashira." Aoi said in a cold tone.
Giyuu could tell that she still was upset with him for the way he had spoken to her that day a few weeks ago. Giyuu bowed to her, keeping his head low.
"I'm very sorry for the way I spoke to you that day. It was wrong of me. There's no excuse for my actions. I'm truly sorry for it." Giyuu apologized.
Aoi crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes though her demeanor eased up a little.
"Ok. What do you want?" She asked him. "I'm assuming you didn't come all this way just to apologize."
Giyuu stood back up straighter and lifted the bento in his hands.
"For Kochou… Is she here?"
Aoi eyed the bento in his hands.
"I can give it to her."
"I'd like to give it to her myself if that is alright." Giyuu replied.
Aoi suddenly displayed a concerned expression as she looked back behind her into the hallway as if to check that they were alone.
"Really, it's no issue. I can give it to her… Shinobu-sama… she's in bed… I'll see to it that she receives your kind gesture…" Aoi said, seeming to not allow him to pass through the front door.
"Oh… ok… I would appreciate that, thank you." Giyuu said as he gave the bento to the girl without protest.
"Good night… Tomioka-san…" Aoi said to him before hastily closing the door.
Now Giyuu definitely knew that something was up. It was like everyone knew something about his love that he didn't. His mind was racing with all different sorts of concerned thoughts for her and he wasn't going to leave without speaking to her and finding out the truth from her himself.
Giyuu leaped up to the roof of the butterfly mansion and crept through one of the open windows. Inside it was dark and empty. Where was Shinobu's room? He used his senses to try to navigate his way around. He had been to the infirmary and that was pretty much it. The butterfly mansion was a huge estate and a lot of people resided here. However… It was really quiet and there seemed to be hardly anyone around which was good for what he was doing right now but also unusual.
Giyuu walked quietly down the hallway and checked many empty rooms, unable to find her. He had to go downstairs. He made his way down without any trouble and he checked the hospital wing where he saw Tanjirou along with a few other demon slayers fast asleep in the rows of beds. Still no Shinobu.
After being unable to find her in the infirmary, he made his way further downstairs to the basement without making a sound or being spotted. He could now hear faint voices… there were two… a man and a woman's voice he couldn't recognise and then he heard Shinobu's voice. They were speaking quietly…
He made his way towards the door and gently opened it to peek through… his face went white with shock and horror at what was revealed.
How could he not sense them!? Demons! Two of them! They looked like humans but they weren't! Only a Hashira would be able to tell. His hand immediately gripped his sword until he saw Shinobu… She was seated at a table looking through a microscope as she conversed with the female demon about what she was analyzing.
Giyuu watched as the female demon lifted a small vial with a gloved hand. It contained a very dark black liquid with a tint of purple to it…
"You really ought not to drink anymore Shinobu-sama… it's what is causing you to be so ill… the pain caused you to pass out last time and I had to inject you with a very strong antidote to prevent you from slipping into a coma…" the female demon spoke.
Shinobu took the vial from her and Giyuu now finally saw her face… she was even more pale and sickly looking… his jaw dropped and his brows narrowed while his heart began to speed up. She didn't look okay at all.
"I know… but I must endure it… it is the only way…" Shinobu said quietly as she unscrewed the vial.
The female demon looked at Shinobu sadly and nodded understandingly. As Shinobu was about to drink the liquid, before the vial could even touch her lips, in a split second Giyuu rushed in, grabbed it from her hands and smashed it against the wall so that it shattered into pieces.
"GIYUU!?" Shinobu shouted standing up from her chair.
Giyuu retracted his sword to face the two demons who stood back from him. The female demon looked at the water Hashira in shock and fear as the male demon stepped in front of her and glared at Giyuu as if to protect her.
"No stop!" Shinobu shouted grabbing Giyuu's arm. "They're here by the request of Oyakata-sama!"
Giyuu glanced Shinobu out of the corner of his eye as he gradually lowered his arm. He knew that Shinobu wouldn't lie about something like that and he knew that in some cases… demons could be trusted. Giyuu sheathed his sword and turned to look at Shinobu, entirely forgetting about the two demons in an instant.
"What was in that vial?" He asked her in such a deep and expressionless tone that he actually scared her a little. He towered over her in a confronting manner.
Shinobu was silent as her chin quivered. She looked at him in shock, she had never expected him to find her here let alone catch her in her secret act she had been doing for over a year now.
Annoyed with Shinobu's silence, Giyuu marched over to the smashed vial where the liquid had splattered and dragged his finger along the small puddle. He put his finger to his lips and immediately felt a burning sensation… Just a tiny drop caused him an immense amount of pain. Giyuu stood back up and slowly turned to Shinobu, rubbing the liquid between his fingers.
"Poison…" he said. "You've been consuming wisteria poison…"
Shinobu remained quiet as she avoided eye contact with her lover and balled her hands into fists.
"Why would you drink this? You said you were taking medicine, not poison!"
"Giyuu, I will explain everything but could you first please calm down and lower your voice?" Shinobu quietly replied.
"Calm down!? Lower my voice!? What is there to explain!? You're trying to kill yourself! And for what!? Why would you do this!?" Giyuu angrily shouted, walking up to her and placing his hands on her cheeks to make her look at him.
Shinobu looked at him in terror and she felt tears form in her eyes. She had never seen him in such a scary state before. His eyes were wide with worry and concern.
"Is it for revenge? I know just what you're thinking baby and please don't do it! You owe it to your sister to live for her not to die! Especially not in a way that you would sacrifice your body to poison upper moon two! If it's revenge you want I'll kill that fucking demon myself!" Instinctively, Giyuu grabbed Shinobu and pulled her body against his so that he could wrap her in his tight and protective embrace.
"I don't want you to kill him! I want to kill him! It has to be me!" Shinobu shouted right back attempting to pull away from Giyuu but found herself locked in his arms.
"You don't have to drink that anymore. I promise you that I'll kill the upper moon two for you. I'll kill him. I promise baby. Stop drinking that poison and get healthy again."
This only made Shinobu furious with a heated rage and she punched her small fist to his sides trying to get him to release her but he responded by kissing her head and holding her tighter.
"Fuck off Giyuu! I'm going to be the one who kills him! I don't care if I die! I'm going to kill him if it's the last thing that I do! Stop interfering! This has been my goal for the last four years!"
"No. I won't let you! I won't stand by and let that demon eat you!" Giyuu stated as he held her to him as if she was going to run away and go after upper moon two as soon as he let go. "I love you. I love you too much to let this happen! I refuse to let it happen!"
"This is exactly why I didn't want to tell you! I knew you wouldn't understand! I knew you would try to stop me!" Shinobu shouted, her voice a wreck as tears flowed endlessly from her eyes.
At that moment everything now made sense. All the other Hashira must've known for a while now. This was the big secret. This was the reason why she was absent and not taking part in Hashira Training.
"I understand why you want to do it. I lost my sister too. I know exactly the hatred and rage that you feel. I just don't care! I will not let it happen!"
Giyuu felt tears form in his own eyes as he felt his heart breaking at just the thought of losing her.
"I won't lose you. I will die before I would ever let that happen."
Shinobu was quiet as she just stood still in his embrace, whimpering and crying into his chest. She realized that Giyuu really did love her. Their relationship was very new to them both yet Giyuu was already so loyal and protective. She slowly raised her arms to gently wrap around his waist.
"I'm sorry…" Shinobu uttered. "This is my fault… I shouldn't have come to you that night…"
"No baby. You've brought the best out in me. You've made me feel love again and I thank you for that. I believe I have always loved you… I'm sorry it took a while for me to realize…"
Shinobu quietly sobbed at his words. Now she didn't know what to do. She loved her sister… She also loved Giyuu. One future led to avenging Kanae and dying happily knowing that Douma would die in wuthering agony paying for murdering her sister all the while the other path led to a full and happy life with her lover… Giyuu.
Shinobu suddenly realized that all of this had happened right in front of Tamayo and Yushiro… she glanced over at them to see that Tamayo was looking down at the ground sadly as if she understood where the both of them were coming from. Had she been in a similar situation before? Yushiro still stood guard in front of Tamayo, eyeing them with disgust.
"Sorry…" Shinobu quietly said as she released Giyuu and placed her hands on his to gently tug them apart so as to set her free from his embrace.
Giyuu let go of her but immediately reached for her hand to hold in his. He was extra clingy now.
"Giyuu, come with me upstairs so that we may talk in a place that is more private. I'm so sorry you had to see this Tamayo-san… Yushiro-san…" Shinobu bowed her apologies however Giyuu didn't. He now resented anyone who knew she was taking the poison and didn't try hard enough to stop her or persuade her not to.
Before Yushiro could open his mouth and start rambling on about how rude, inappropriate and problematic they were, Tamayo made sure to speak first.
"That's quite alright Shinobu-sama. We are in your home after all. I completely understand the way you both must be feeling and I hope you come to a settlement." Tamayo spoke.
Yushiro thought that she was being too easy on them but nonetheless, he held his tongue and spoke his mind through a hard glare towards the pair.
Shinobu led Giyuu upstairs. It was quiet and dark as everyone had gone to bed. They walked hand in hand uncaring if anyone were to see them. Shinobu led him to the kitchen where Aoi was finishing off the last of the dishes. She turned around and was shocked to see the distressed state of her master who had puffy red eyes from crying and her cheeks were wet with tears. She looked at Tomioka, surprised to see him inside and then noticed that they were holding hands.
"Sumimasen!" Aoi immediately said, bowing before the pair.
"Don't be sorry Aoi… we're just getting a hot drink. Please… if you don't mind… could you please run me a bath dear?" Shinobu asked her sweetly yet her voice whimpered a bit as she was still rather upset.
Seeing her master cry, Aoi made to walk forward to comfort her and ask what was wrong but stopped herself… she would have to ask later.
"Yes of course Shinobu-sama. I'll prepare it for you right away." Aoi said and then made her way to leave in order to do just that.
Shinobu walked with Giyuu over to the counter and poured some already made hot tea into two cups. Giyuu moved behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I'm sorry baby." He whispered and pressed a kiss to the back of her head.
She didn't say anything but turned around while still being in his embrace to hold up a cup of tea for him. He took it with one hand keeping the other around her waist and they both drank in silence.
After a while, Aoi returned. Her cheeks turned red as she saw her master and the water Hashira drinking tea together but in a close proximity and Tomioka had one arm holding her master's waist as with the other he drank his tea.
Aoi cleared her throat and the two looked towards her. She gulped at seeing them not bother to break apart or not even attempt to hide anything. Since when have the two been so comfortable with each other? Aoi would've never guessed! She couldn't wait to tell Kanao and the others.
"Shinobu-sama, your bath is ready." Aoi announced.
"Thank you Aoi." Shinobu placed her cup down as did Giyuu.
Shinobu walked up to Aoi and placed a kiss against her forehead.
"You have a good night my sweet." She said as she exited the kitchen with Giyuu following behind her.
Aoi just pretended that she didn't see them walking to the baths together and went on with the rest of her night.
They made their way to the bathing quarters of the butterfly mansion. The tubs weren't like normal bathtubs, they were built in the ground and were large with accessibility for injured or disabled demon slayers. The bath Aoi had prepared for Shinobu was filled with a lavender aroma and held a lot of healing ointments and soothing properties to it. The steam coming from the tub immediately caused their bodies to relax.
Shinobu began to undress herself in front of Giyuu, removing her haori first.
"Would you like me to leave?" Giyuu politely asked her.
Shinobu didn't say a word but gave him a look that said otherwise. She placed her soft hands atop his shoulders and removed his haori too. Giyuu felt his stomach tighten as she began undoing his buttons one by one. He suddenly lurched with desire for her.
Giyuu did the same, they both undid each other's buttons and removed their upper garments for one another. The rest they did themselves and soon they were both naked before each other's gaze. There was no point in trying to hide it but Giyuu was already aroused for her as his eyes glazed over her perfect petite frame. She was absolutely stunning and he wanted her badly. Even when looking sick she put other ladies' beauty to shame from her toned yet small build and beautiful features.
Shinobu grabbed his hand and led Giyuu into the bath and they both slowly stepped into the water. Giyuu sat down and pulled Shinobu towards him. She sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck running her fingers through his hair. Her core sat against his erection, the feel of her wet petals against his cock along with the relaxation ointments mixed in with the water was all too much for them and their eyes drooped with lust. Shinobu closed the space between them and pressed her lips to Giyuu's. Giyuu placed his hand to the back of her head pulling her in for more. Their tongues entangled with each other as the kiss deepened with love and lust and wanting more of each other.
Shinobu rocked her hips and Giyuu felt his dick suddenly slip inside of her without warning. He groaned as she grinded against him, raising her hips up and down. Giyuu matched her rhythm and thrusted up into her rough and hard startling her with a pleasurable moan. He wrapped his arms around her back and held her tightly to him, feeling her breasts press up against his chest making his arousal all the more high.
Shinobu licked his ear and nipped at it as she released a soft and breathy moan against it. Her moans were driving him to the edge as he thrusted inside of her. He gritted his teeth focusing on penetrating her as deep as he could. They were both getting closer to reaching their climax.
Shinobu kissed his neck and then whispered in his ear, "I love you." And that's what drove him to the edge… he felt her walls tighten against his cock as she orgasmed and soon after his dick flinched and he filled her with his warm seed.
They both breathed heavily as Shinobu buried her head into the crook of his neck, hugging him tightly. Giyuu grazed his hands against her back and they stayed like that for a while. Cuddling each other.
"I'm sorry I swore at you…" Shinobu whispered into his neck.
"That's okay baby. I'm sorry I yelled at you." He replied lovingly and kissed her shoulder.
"I was so mean to you…" she said in a shy tone, still burying her face into his neck as if to hide away in shame.
"No you weren't. You were just being honest and I love you for it."
Shinobu leaned her head back to look deeply into his eyes Giyuu gazed at her, she looked beautiful and had an aftersex glow to her.
"You're so beautiful." He stated as he reached up to tuck a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. His eyes fell to her breasts with an almost hungry gaze and before she knew it, his tongue and lips were all over her chest. Shinobu shot her head back with a quiet moan as he lavished at her breasts as sparks of pleasure shot through her system.
Shinobu placed her hand under his chin and leaned her forehead against his and pressed her lips softly to his, giving him a sweet and short peck. She soon stood up off of Giyuu and felt his dick slide out of her. He gritted his teeth at the feeling and he hooked his arm around her waist so that she now sat on top of his lap with her back toward him. She wrapped her arms around the back of his shoulders and gave him a small smile much like her usual one she normally displayed.
He reached for some vanilla scented body wash and squirted it against a washcloth. He began rubbing it against her entire body. When he caressed the cloth against her inner thigh, she placed her hand on his and guided him to her core. He smirked and began washing her there. He heard her quietly moan as he rubbed the cloth against her which entirely aroused him more. He let go of the cloth and used his fingers to massage her clit. When he saw how turned on she still was and how much she was enjoying his fingers, he entered his middle finger inside of her and began creating a whole new orgasm for her. She held onto his neck as he fingered her feeling just where her g spot was and he made sure to focus on that area whilst entering a second finger in as his thumb stimulated her clit. Giyuu licked and bit her neck as she came against his fingers this time and he had left a second mark on her neck that was a stinging red.
Shinobu turned and kissed him sloppily, letting her tongue devour every inch of his mouth as he responded just as highly aroused back. She reached down between them and Giyuu was now hard again. Shinobu jerked him off in her palm and then ordered him to stand up.
He stood up and his erection sprung to life out of the water. Shinobu kneeled down and stroked him, causing him to groan. He looked down at her and caught her lustful gaze as she licked her lips then soon took him in her mouth. Giyuu struggled to hold back a loud moan as she sucked his dick. She took him all the way in till he reached the back of her throat as she moved between sucking him off and stroking him in her hand. Giyuu closed his eyes and grasped her hair as he couldn't help but rock his hips forward into her wet mouth. She fondled his balls and he groaned as he came. She swallowed all of his cum and then released him from her mouth.
Giyuu picked her up off of the ground and lifted her with ease as she wrapped her arms and legs around him. Their lips collided and they kissed, both fighting for dominance.
After their lustful activities, Giyuu and Shinobu both washed each other properly and soon after got changed into fresh dressing robes.
It was much later in the evening and they were lying in Shinobu's bed in her master bedroom. Their legs were entangled with each other as Shinobu laid her head on top of Giyuu's chest as she breathed quietly still awake, she felt his hand tracing circles on her back. They were both so tired and just so comfortable that it was easy to fall asleep laying in each other's embrace and they woke up the next morning feeling better rested than ever however there was a bit of tension.
They were both quiet in the morning. They both knew that they were awake yet none of them spoke. It was because they hadn't actually talked about what had happened last night. It was proper for them to have this conversation after sleeping on it. Shinobu sat up and leaned against the headboard. Giyuu did the same. It felt odd to not be holding her while they were in bed together; however, this was an indication of just how serious Shinobu was wanting to be when discussing anything to do with her revenge for her sister's death. Makeup sex wasn't going to magically fix everything.
"Giyuu…" Shinobu started. "You know how much I want to avenge my sister's death. You know my hatred for upper moon two… I want to kill him. I want to see the life leave his eyes. I want to see him suffer and to be sure that he dies a most painful death. It can't be quick and easy like beheading… it has to be done through my most lethal poison."
Giyuu stayed quiet as he listened to her words.
"I'm sorry… I just can't stand by as you sacrifice your body for the sake of revenge. I won't let him eat you."
"I know. Which is why for you, I have decided that I will no longer drink the poison."
Giyuu turned to look at her and saw that she was being sincere with her words. She leaned closer to him with still a very serious look on her face.
"What I want is for you to train with me. I want to be at my strongest when the time comes for me to confront Douma. If I am to stand a proper chance against him, I will need to increase my strength and allow the poison to leave my body completely so that it won't slow me down."
Giyuu immediately placed a palm on her cheek and leaned in to kiss her. Shinobu placed her hand against his palm as she responded lovingly back.
"I'm not going to let you fight him alone. I'll be by your side. We will kill him together. I will happily help you to train, baby. He won't stand a chance against the two of us. Thank you for agreeing to stop taking the poison. I love you so much."
"Thank you baby, I love you too." Shinobu replied and they shared more morning kisses and cuddles.
For the next couple of weeks, Shinobu and Giyuu trained together every day. At first, Giyuu was purposely going easy on her and Shinobu was livid about it!
"Do you want me to die!?" She shouted at him. "Because if you don't give it your all against me, I'm not going to get better and when the time comes to face upper moon two I won't be ready and I'll be killed!"
After hearing her harsh words, Giyuu went a little harder on her though she found that he was still holding back with his strikes and it really pissed her off. Giyuu just didn't want to hurt her and it frustrated her because she had faced regular demons who would hit her harder than he did so imagine how it would feel when the time came to face Douma! An upper moon! Number two at that!
"I have an idea! Since you refuse to give it your all against me, I think it would be better if I asked Shinazugawa to train with me because I know he wouldn't hold back."
Since she even dared to suggest that, Giyuu now really did give it his all. He yelled at her! He struck her hard! He was relentless and Shinobu ate her words… by the end of their sessions she was sore and covered with sweat and bruises and her muscles ached and every time later that night, Giyuu would give her massages and sincerely apologize over and over for what he had done. Shinobu would always tell him not to be sorry for doing just as she wanted and has asked for. It was vital to her training.
One session while Giyuu and Shinobu were training, the sun was going down and they both wore no Haori as it was quite hot and they both were sweating, Giyuu was striking his wooden sword hard against her thin one and she recoiled to the ground. They had a safe word if she wanted him to stop otherwise he was ordered to keep at it.
He kept striking her and she gasped as his strikes caused her hands to shake and be in pain. She was on the ground using her legs to push herself backwards as he kept coming for her, one hard blow after another as she barely managed to block them. She now cried, breathing heavily and gave him a look of worry and fear but he still hadn't heard that safe word yet so he kept coming for her.
He crashed his wooden sword so hard against hers that her one snapped in half and still, she refused to say the safe word so he raised his sword and was about to ring it down on her body hard until, all of a sudden Iguro was in front of her as fast as a bullet to use his real sword to block his blow and Giyuu's wooden sword broke in half against his steel.
"OBANAI! What do you think you are doing!?" Giyuu shouted at him, throwing his now broken wooden sword to the ground.
"TEME! ARE YOU STUPID!? Can you not see that she is winded and unable to speak!?" Iguro shouted back.
Giyuu looked over his shoulder to see that Shinobu was now throwing up to the side and gasping for air while Mitsuri was now kneeling down next to her, rubbing her back and comforting her.
Shit.
Giyuu rushed over and knelt down next to them. He was so fixated on their harsh training and abiding by his promise to not go easy on her that he hadn't realized that she was winded and unable to call out the safe word.
"You bastard! Why are you attacking Shinobu-san!? What kind of man bullies their partner like that to begin with!?" Mitsuri shouted at Giyuu.
Giyuu felt his heart racing as he felt the guilt rush throughout his body. He felt indeed stupid and a bastard for not realizing.
"It's okay Mitsuri-san… it's my fault… I asked him to… I ordered him to keep at it no matter what unless he hears our safe word…" Shinobu spoke through sobs and deep panting as she slowly caught her breath.
Hearing her talking in such a state caused Giyuu to curse himself. He felt so fucking bad.
"Yes but even someone as dumb as him should be able to realize when their partner is incapable of being able to speak!" Iguro spoke, glaring at Giyuu. "You're lucky Kanroji and I were close by."
Shinobu threw up again and Giyuu placed his hand on her back to comfort her.
"I'm so so sorry baby! Obanai and Kanroji are right! I should've realized!" Giyuu said to her and went to grab her hand.
"No… somethings wrong with me… it wasn't training and it wasn't you… can you help me walk to the infirmary…"
"Of course." Giyuu replied, helping her to stand.
The two of them walked together back to the butterfly mansion but before they left, Giyuu thanked Iguro and Mitsuri for stopping him before he could've seriously hurt her. Iguro just huffed while Mitsuri looked at Shinobu, genuinely concerned for her best friend.
When they got back to the butterfly mansion, Giyuu remained outside of the infirmary while Aoi and Shinobu went through some medical procedures. It was horrible being left outside in the quiet to ponder on his thoughts. He felt terrible for what he had done to her.
Aoi exited the room and Giyuu stood up waiting to hear what was going on… however, Aoi was silent, she bowed in front of Giyuu before leaving without saying a word. Giyuu knew… the poison… it had taken a toll on her.
He entered the room to see Shinobu sitting on the side of the bed with her back to him. She was crying. Her whimpers filled the quiet air as she turned to see him entering then sighed and avoided his gaze as if disappointed to see him.
"Is everything alright?" Giyuu asked her as he sat by her side.
There was a moment of silence before she spoke. All that could be heard was her soft whimpering and Giyuu became more concerned for her. Was she mad at him? He wouldn't blame her a bit if she was.
"No…" she whispered. "I've ruined everything…"
"What do you mean?" Giyuu asked her as he leaned in closer, grabbed her hand and kissed it while caressing his thumb against the back of her palm.
"Giyuu…" she said quietly as she turned to look at him with tears flowing from her eyes. "I'm pregnant."
Giyuu's entire demeanor dropped as he questioned whether he had understood her correctly… she was… pregnant… with his child… they were going to have a baby…
"I'm so sorry… I really thought that with the wisteria poison I had been taking there was only the very slightest of chances that I would ever be able to conceive as it has left lifelong damage on my organs however… The results were all positive… I'm so sorry Giyuu…" Shinobu said through tears.
After taking a moment to comprehend, Giyuu suddenly jolted back into reality. He gently placed his arms around Shinobu and pulled her body to his and kissed her wet cheeks. He hugged her and gritted his teeth, cursing at himself.
"Shinobu, I have been training with you without restraint this entire time and all the while you have been carrying our child. This is unforgivable of me to go at you like that with full force in one on one combat while all along you were pregnant. I am the one who should be sorry and I am. I can never forgive myself for this… I am so sorry." Giyuu said to her, his voice breaking a little.
Shinobu was entirely shocked to see that he was not even mad at her. In fact, he was blaming himself for something that she requested he do. She brought her arms up to wrap around his shoulders and sob into his chest.
"Had I known about my condition I of course wouldn't have permitted myself to participate. If anyone is to blame for that it is my own fault so please don't be sorry and don't blame yourself… if it is me or… our baby that you are worried about we are both fine…" Shinobu spoke with a gentle tone.
Giyuu leaned back a small yet sorrowful smile. He was genuinely smiling with tears in his own eyes. Hearing her address the fetus in her uterus as "our baby" made him extremely happy. He would've been so excited if it weren't for the demons that still prowled in this world… This changes everything for both of them. Shinobu held both of his hands as she spoke.
"Giyuu… you are this child's father so I will of course consider your thoughts about this sensitive matter… I have until the end of the week to make a choice… of… whether or not to terminate the pregnancy… there is a special tea that I can drink… Do you even want to be a father? Do you want to have that type of responsibility?" Shinobu asked in a very quiet and sincere tone. Her voice was shaky and she was shivering and he could tell she was nervous and afraid.
Giyuu grasped her hand tightly and gave her a soft smile and placed his palm to her cheek, caressing it lovingly.
"Whatever you want, I will fully support. I understand that you want to be in this final war and kill upper moon two… if it means more to you than having a child I will say nothing against it. I won't lie to you though, I do want a child with you… nothing would make me more happy… but I know you have worked so hard for this moment… whatever you want, baby, I'll support." Giyuu said to her.
Shinobu pouted at his sweet words as she brought her hand up to his palm that laid against her cheek and kissed his knuckles. She took a moment to think about all that he had said. He really wanted a child with her and this was their one in a million chance. She just knew that after this… she wouldn't be able to get pregnant again… now was their only chance and she did want to be a mother one day though she previously thought that day would never come… yet here they were.
"Let's have a baby then…" Shinobu said sweetly to him.
"Are you sure?" Giyuu asked her, completely surprised that she had made up her mind so quickly. "We don't have to decide today. You can think about it if you want."
Shinobu gave him a soft smile.
"No… I'm sure. I don't think I could end something as precious as our baby. I just know that he or she can't wait to meet their father."
Hearing her say that brought about the excitement that Giyuu had previously been holding in and he couldn't help but lean in and crush his lips to hers as he expressed how much he loved the mother of his child. He placed a gentle hand against her stomach that actually, even though she was just a few weeks along, demonstrated the slightest bump.
"I love our child so much already." Giyuu said.
Shinobu placed her hand on top of his. "Me too. I'm sure our child loves you already too, Giyuu."
Giyuu smiled and brought his hands up to cup her face as he gave her sweet butterfly kisses all over.
"I promise that I won't let anything bad happen to either of you. You both mean the world to me." Giyuu stated.
"I know baby, you are our world too. We both love you so much."
Giyuu's heart was fluttering with joy and he leaned down to kiss Shinobu's belly.
