Chapter 17: To Realize Want and Need

~We did it before. ~

Ami was not sure if Raku could hear her, or even if he'd gotten away from the huge blob of sadness in her sister's life. It must have come from another world, possessing anything that thought hope was dead since the last fight had scared a ton of people. And the fight before that…she was done being a wallflower. Ami was a fighter, but this wasn't a battle. No, it felt more as if Ava needed to be cared about. She'd gone off and left everything she loved behind…they had, except Anna and Aiden. They just lived.

Ami was a special source of magic for the world and she'd promised she could save her family too. Ava….wanted to stop growing up and recall what she had missed about being human. Anna was still facing her own trust issues, and Aiden was not a fan of magical prophecies. She'd seen how Raku was trying more than all of them to prevent himself from going to pieces in the same way as her sister.

~ You're not alone…. Raku! Raku! I'm here! Don't hurt my family! ~

~ He doesn't have the right to attack the sun. ~

The slithering beast morphed into Amelia, Ami's dopple and dark side. She looked older ow, not as small and weak as the time she'd taken over to attack Aiden (These new years part two.)

~ What are you going to do to us? Why my sister?? She's not going to listen. You don't know…. what we want. You don't even remember that I sealed my dark side! ~ Ami started to chant as the light around her body of the sun, grew to push the false face of her darkness, away. So it seems. the sun is bright, yet in the country of Ava's wants. Of her true heart, ice and frost block its brilliance. You cannot compare to the moon, for it is glorious. You? Are inflated, cocky and –

The double in Ami's voice insulted on and to no end. ~ You use others like toys you would break. Those foxes want out, did they tell you yet? If they haven't I can alwa –

~ Don't you hurt my nee – chans! ~ Ami shouted. ~ They aren't done growing, and neither am I –

The blob morphed again, this time with Anya's body and face. Ami was twisted up as ice prickled her ears and sharp shards threatened to kill her. But, did not. That….wasn't Ava…

~ You're…not her. I forgive her! I know she's hurting! ~

~ She envies YOU, idiot! ~ Anya yelled up at the other's face. ~ The sun has promise; you promised the goddess of morning to do as she did. To become her….one day, you won't remember your humanity. ~ Anya cackled. ~ Just like me, like my other Ava. She and I are the same. Born to change and claim our rites that something ELSE imprinted upon our hearts…even before we were born. ~

~I did that for me, Amaterasu came to me, and I was little. I trusted her. You, also. ~ Ami coughed, the ice eating her breadth as it seemed to feed off of her guilt. ~ Ava, is family…not a friend from the future. She's my big sister, and we are not far away. I'm right here… ~

The eyes of the goddess were sleeping again as Anya raised the wall of ice to show Raku, his hands bleeding a black and red aura. ~ You've finally seen the light as well. Congratulations -

The daemon in Raku was not as Ami recalled, yet he called out the same even in an age she recognized more to Roku than to her little jinni brother.

~You took away what was most sacred, and now…unless you leave this plane with nothing…I will be forced upon by the gods to name your execution. ~

~N- no…. ~ Ami shook her head. ~It's not her…don't attack! ~

Ro – Raku pulled away and, in a snap, the bonds of ice shattered. She had never seen him so serious. Too much, that her heart had to worry if he had really turned back the clock. Unleashed something, dark at heart…

~ That is not your sibling, it never was. Ava is in a shallow place that this entity controls. The only way to break her free is to have this creature's "illusion" to suffer –

~WAIT! ~

Raku did not. She watched on the sidelines as the jinni's precision was no longer filled by a mystic craft, but bloodshed she'd only witnessed of demons to be capable of.

~Give them back! What did you do to my family!? ~ Ami screamed and cried out, Raku not hearing as the two, Anya and he were painted black and red while she dangled out of their way. ~RAKU!! STOP!!! Aiden can't save you if you kill anyone again! I'm begging you…. stop it!!~ The man inside of this creature she'd come to see as her sibling forced his dark arts to stab the Anya copy's arm into the wall of ice behind her. She howled and black blood spurted out. ~CREATURE!!! You are just going to burn for what you cannot stop!! This was always you, my child –

But, Raku did. ~ I'm not here to kill you. Your sentence won't be my doing. ~ He smiled back at Ami as his body changed to that of his shorter seventeen year old aspect. ~ I'm sorry. She's not the reason I came back. ~ The book of Manifesto burst forth as Raku began to spell danger for his enemies. ~ I'll bring them back…and I will show you how much I've truly grown as an Infinite being by rite!! ~

In the dark, a light broke through as Haku never stopped trying to see the light. He went to his keep, his doorway and saw a being there with a staff of a single serpent. A white one as it was handed to the incarnate of a lost god. ~Go back, and be well to change, my lordship. ~

Hakuro blinked and made certain when he heard it. He let his light of the inner chamber take hold. For his was a key to the afterlife, and his partner had made the call to have him join in battle.

Raku smiled as the face of an illusion of his making merged, and together…

Aiden and the others found a door and didn't stop. Starfire and her team were back on earth, pushing back the hungry entity and the ice as it started to bleed black all around them. "What is happening this time??" She looked up and saw Raku, she saw him merged with Ami in his arms as Jackie cried out while firing a few lasers at the miasma blobs blocking her way. "We're gonna save you two, hang on –

"Stop!" Slade warned as Dick and the merc both had the dogs to help in surrounding Anya, who changed yet again to have no real form. "Where is she???" Aiden shouted, hoping it wasn't too late. Anna gasped and looked at Slade, who was not batting an eye. She had the power to stop this. "Ami….Ami, I know how to change what's going on –

That got Slade's attention as he forbade it. Her father was thinking the very same. "Anna. You aren't equipped to fight this creature. Let the others –

"NO." Anna looked to Aiden and Ami was smiling back. Raku, he didn't want to say that because in his merged form, he did not speak in a voice they knew. Yet, he was only mind – spoken through an ancient song. A voice of a true god on his tongue. ~ Shall we. Is it time? ~ the being asked, Anna nodding while Aiden looked at the others and was terribly confused. Slade however, was not. "If you do this, it could kill all of you. We don't –

"Don't' what?" Jackie bit her lip and looked at Ami, the others facing the entity that was currently wiping out their worlds in one swallow at a time. "Ami! You're gonna do something crazy, aren't you…. think about everyone else! You can –

Hakuro's eyes bled forth as the miko state of Ami became golden. Aiden's armor started to glow as Anna's armor and outfit took to the air with her fire at its peak. Slade looked, devastated to lose a child he'd almost considered far too close, but Dick was not ok. He was never…

~ They will be here. I will not allow anything to be lost. Please. Trust in our power. ~

Raku looked to the others and as the fighting Anya started to shrink back by the light of the sun, Ava cried out and screamed to be let free from the mass of miasma that had taken her.

~Ami!! Do it~!!! Do it!! ~

"Do what??" Damian growled at the infamous Nightwing and his new friend. "What are they going to do??"

"Restart, this time. And make it so that nothing ever occurred…" Slade choked on the words as Kori was living in her worse reality. "You cannot!! That is….is not possible!"

"For the chosen, it is. They are protectors until new blood tells us otherwise." Verra sniffed and the rest looked at him. "You knew….you and, and Slade? That if Anna can –

"She's a fire bird of rebirth. Ami is birth. The afterlife and in between of times living is Raku. Ava is death and ending . While Aiden…"

"Is living, in the present day." Dick swallowed. "Is this the only way that….there must be….my kids are going to be erased –

"We'll see."

"We'll SEE??" Damian yelled at Slade as the light overhead kept glowing brighter. "Anna can do it, she just has to focus on what her mind wants, what she wants to survive. She can't do it all alone. They are time's children. They. Are right now, the only way to save anyone still breathing."

The light was so strong, as Ava saw the creature pull away. It showed a past she barely knew. A present with everyone fighting. Then she….met an old crone under those lights.

~Lady…..You are not weak. You are strong, and neither should thou believe thine shortcomings to be of another's doubts. ~ The goddess of the Germanic Underworld took a hand to the pale fae's face. ~ Reia knew it, that hope would continue to thrive in small numbers if only it could be kept alive. You, are a solidified peace. As ice below in the cold, all things thrive and wait to bloom. It only takes the sun, to allow the seasons and time, to move in accordance with all things sacred. My child. You must not despair. ~

As a kindly grandmother she had never seen, Ava cried into the old woman's arms. ~ I don't want to lose who I still know I can be... why can't I still see them? ~

~ You can. When you are strong to follow and others may allow it. The future is not all written. You, must allow the breach time to heal, yet never shut it completely. Or else, imagination and our memory, our names shall then only be forgotten. ~

~ They were wrong, I can warn them not to close the door to the spirit world then…thank you, Lady Queen Hel! ~

~I am, but a child myself. ~ Smiled the goddess as her form changed. Ava opened her eyes to gasp up.

~Reia…. mother? You are…. ~

Reia is Hel before she was left to the past. Now, the new Hel is actually a vision. They never were left alone and Hel, was always meant to be Reia. Cool, right? Goddess of the RAVEN winged? The crossroads of the ones who had died??? She's a reaper and a goddess, so Ava is afraid to die as a result and she is also the keeper of the far north that is all that Reia left of her clan. (She is a vassal of the underworld! Cool!)
