Chapter 6

Luffy had dozed off, still laying on top of him. Law felt the even breathing and heard soft, gentle snoring. He stroked Luffy's lower back as he continued to watch the rain patter on the window. Luffy had to be exhausted from their mating and from being in heat. It was surreal to think that he actually had an omega when he said he never wanted one. The whole fated mates things appeared to be true after all.

But now, he had a dilemma. Luffy has offered to help him win back his pack, but he doesn't want Luffy anywhere near Doflamingo. And now, he has a weakness, and that weakness was Luffy. He knew the omegas in his pack were suffering at Doflamingo's hands, and he didn't want that for Luffy. But he needs all the help he can get. His alpha urge to protect his mate started to stir, and Law let out a little groan. Yes, he had a weakness now.

However, Luffy was not a meek or weak omega. Law has seen him fight, and the omega seemed to enjoy fighting. He might not have to worry that much over Luffy during the fight. If they teamed up, they should be able to take down Doflamingo. But Doflamingo was an Alpha Prime, the same as him. The bastard won't go down easy. It might take all of Luffy's pack to win.

That brought up another dilemma. Law wants his pack back, but he also has Luffy, who is leader of his own pack. Luffy's friends would never let him go, and he didn't want to take Luffy away to live with him. For them to be together, their packs would have to join. But what if Luffy's pack didn't want to combine? He can just hear Zoro now, voicing that he wouldn't listen to anyone other than Luffy. The green-haired alpha would be a problem.

Luffy started to stir on top of him. His mate rested his chin on his chest and slowly opened his eyes, giving a bright little smile.

"I fell asleep," Luffy said.

"You can go back to sleep if you want," Law offered.

"I like laying on top of you," Luffy said. "You're better than the bed!"

Law smirked and said, "I'll take that as a compliment."

"I'm not hurting your wounds, right?"

"No, I'm fine." Law said. "In fact, I'm feeling much better. A few more days and I'll be ready to fight again,"

Luffy grinned and said. "Yeah! Then we'll go after Doflamingo and win your pack back!"

Law couldn't help admitting how cute Luffy was and he brought his hand up to tussle the dark hair. "I'm grateful for your help,"

"No problem! I'm going to be the Supreme, after all!"

If Luffy does become the Supreme, then that would make him a powerful alpha since he's Luffy's mate. He wanted to help Luffy achieve his dream of being the Supreme, but to gain such a title takes a long time, and there's many fights and battles he'll have to endure. But if anyone can do it, Luffy can.

"Hey, it stopped raining," Luffy said.

"But I want to stay in bed a little longer," Law said, wrapping his arms around Luffy to hold him in place.

Luffy laughed and said, "I want to stay like this too!" He placed his cheek on Law's bandaged chest. He could feel the alpha's heartbeat. Luffy nuzzled his cheek against the heartbeat. He could feel their connection in the bonding mark on his neck and he loved it, just like he loved Traffy.

"You like to cuddle," Law pointed out.

"I didn't know I did until now," Luffy replied, and he chose to roll off of Law and onto the bed. "I'm glad we're mates now," he said. "And when we get your pack back, they can join us! We'll be the best Alpha and Omega Prime!"

'Join packs…' Law thought for a moment. He wasn't sure how many of his pack still lived. There had been so many dead bodies that day that he couldn't count. It's locked in his memories, though. The relaxed and contented feeling he had was suddenly gone and replaced by the dark images of that fateful day.

"Traffy? What's wrong?" Luffy asked, leaning on his elbows to look down at Law.

"What makes you think something's wrong?"

"I can feel it, here," he pointed to the bonding mark. "You can tell me what's wrong,"

Law sat up then, running a hand through his messy hair. Luffy sat up with him. "I'm thinking about the day my pack was attacked," he started. "He took the lives of many of my pack members…I fear there won't be any left to join,"

Luffy took his hand. "Don't worry, everything will be fine. I'll take care of that Doflamingo guy and I'm sure a lot of your pack is still there."

Law sighed heavily. "I'm not so sure."

Luffy didn't know what he could do to make Traffy feel better. He knew his mate was suffering and wanted to help. They had just had a wonderful time, and now Traffy looked so lost. Luffy wrapped his arms around Traffy's neck and held him. He felt the other's arms slide around his waist.

"I'm sorry you're feeling bad," Luffy said. "Don't worry, I won't show that guy any mercy for making my Traffy feel sad!"

Law smiled at that because he knew Luffy was right. Having his mate calm him like this was a great feeling. He didn't feel so alone anymore. This must be what it means to have a mate. With Luffy's words, he instantly felt better.

"I guess we should get up," Law said. "Your pack will start to wonder where you are,"

"Yeah, okay," Luffy said and then gave Law a serious look. "You don't have to go through this alone. Do you promise to talk to me if you feel bad?"

"I'm not that much of a talkative guy when it comes to this stuff…but yeah, I promise." he kissed Luffy's nose and the omega blushed.

When they emerged from Luffy's cabin, the gray sky was just clearing up. It continued to drizzle slightly, and the pair walked hand in hand to the cherry orchard. Luffy was already plucking cherries from the trees while complaining he was hungry. Law took a cherry for himself, then held one out to Luffy. Luffy took it, but he bit down too hard and he ended up biting Law's fingers. Luffy quickly apologized with one cheek full of cherries. Law realized that maybe it's best not to get near Luffy's mouth when he's eating. Law shook his hand in response to the pain.

They heard someone walking behind them and they turned to see that it was Chopper.

"There you are!" Chopper said to Law. "I was looking for you. It's time to change your bandages."

"I think I'm well enough to not wear them," Law said. "I want them to stay off,"

Chopper frowned a little. "Hm. I'll be the judge of that. I'm your doctor, after all. You need my clearance,"

Law gave in and left with Chopper and Luffy following behind them. They went to Chopper's medical cabin and Law let the doctor, and Luffy, remove his bandages. There were still some stitches that needed to be covered, but the rest of Law's body was almost fully healed. Instead of bandages, Chopper used gauze and some tape to cover the stitched wounds. The bruising on Law's body had begun to fade, going from dark purple to a yellowish-green.

Luffy couldn't help but stare at his mate's body, noting all the tattoos the alpha had. They made him look badass, and Luffy wondered if he should get one too. He should get one or two to match with Traffy!

"You still need to take it easy," Chopper told Law when he was finished.

"When am I able to fight?" Law asked Chopper, already knowing the answer. "The longer I wait, the longer my pack suffers,"

Chopper's mouth was a thin line, then he said, "You would open up all your wounds if you move around too much. You're not ready to fight yet. I know it's hard, but think about it this way; you can't help your pack if you're wounded. Concentrate on resting and getting better, so you can fight head-on and with full force and win."

Law nodded. "Yeah, you're right," he sighed.

"Hey, let's go find Sanji and get something to eat, I'm starving!" Luffy said.

"Oh, Luffy, are you okay now? I know you were in heat," Chopper asked.

"Yup! I'm fine," Luffy grinned brightly. "Never better, actually!"

"I am a little hungry," Law said. He thanked Chopper for his help and left with Luffy to go to Sanji's cabin.

When they got there, they noticed no one answered the door when they knocked. Luffy looked through the window and saw that Sanji wasn't there. They went to the kitchen cabin and Sanji wasn't there either. There was some bread left on the table and Luffy grabbed it, biting a huge crescent shape into it. Law took the bread away and lightly scolded Luffy who managed to pout with a mouth full of bread. But where was Sanji? They saw Usopp and Robin walking nearby and Luffy asked if they had seen Sanji.

"I saw him with Zoro not too long ago," Usopp said.

"They were going into Zoro's cabin," Robin added. "It's best if you leave them alone for a bit longer,"

Law understood what she meant, but Luffy didn't. Luffy turned in the direction of Zoro's cabin only to be stopped when Law grabbed the back of his shirt. Luffy would burst right in without knocking. Luffy turned to Law, looking mildly confused.

"If an alpha and an omega go into a cabin together, what do you think they're doing?" Law asked Luffy.

Luffy just blinked a few times.

Law raised a brow and said, "They want to be…alone."

"Alone? But, I'm hungry,"

"You're just going to have to wait," Law said. "Or go eat some cherries and tangerines to tie you over."

Luffy suddenly realized what Law was talking about with Zoro and Sanji. He snapped his fingers and said, "I bet they're mating!"

Law rolled his eyes but he had a small smile on his lips. Luffy wasn't the swiftest guy around. Usopp looked embarrassed by Luffy's outburst and Robin just politely chuckled behind her hand.

"I guess my stomach can wait," Luffy said. "Come on, Traffy! Let's go fishing while we wait!"

They got two fishing rods and went to the stream. Luffy sat down on the bank and handed Law his own fishing rod. Law hadn't fished in a while and he used to like it. He found it relaxing. They both cast their lines and waited, both silent, until Luffy spoke first.

"Are you going to start sleeping in my cabin now?" He asked.

"If you want me to," Law replied.

"I do!"

"Shh, don't be too loud. You'll scare away the fish."

"Oh! Right!" Luffy whispered the last word and went back to fishing.

Law took a moment to admire his mate while Luffy wasn't looking. Luffy wasn't an overly handsome male. He was simple in looks, but it was his personality that really made him a keeper. Luffy has the ability to inspire people, and he's friendly and kind to those who deserve it. Law knew he was a little older than Luffy, but that didn't bother him. Luffy certainly didn't seem to care. And when, and if, their packs join, Law's pack would all love Luffy. They can rule as a mated pair. Then, something snagged on his line and it broke him from his thoughts.

"You got a bite, Traffy!"

Law tugged and pulled at the pole, fighting with the fish until it gave up and leaped out of the water. It was a decently-sized fish. It flipped and flopped on the hook as Law held it up.

"Nice catch!" Luffy said. "We'll take it back to Sanji and make him cook it!"

"It's been a while since I went fishing," Law said, removing the fish from the hook. "Looks like you got one too,"

"Oh yeah!" Luffy grinned and yanked at the pole, pulling up a much smaller fish. "Oh, it's a little guy!" He held it up with a frown. "We can't make anything out of you," Luffy said to the fish with a pout and tossed it back into the stream.

"You can have my fish," Law said, noting Luffy's adorable little pout.

"No, that's okay! I'll catch another one, and it will be bigger!"

Luffy hummed to himself as he cast the line back into the water. It was near Traffy's line, but not close enough that they would tangle. He couldn't believe he actually had an alpha mate. All this time, he never really paid any attention to being a mated omega and always assumed it would be Zoro. But now he has a real mate, and they have a mating bond. Luffy already knew that he loved Traffy, and considered himself a lucky omega to have such a handsome alpha. Traffy was a little quieter and more serious than him, but he didn't care. He liked those qualities in Traffy. Luffy then leaned over and planted a kiss on the alpha's cheek.

"What was that for?" Law asked.

"Because I wanted to," Luffy grinned.

That wasn't enough for Law and he leaned over to press their lips together. Luffy was still a little naive when it came to kissing, but he was making progress. Law pulled away and admired the pretty blush that was on Luffy's cheeks.

"Can I have another?" Luffy asked. "I like kissing you,"

"You don't have to ask," Law said and brought their lips into another kiss.

It was chaste at first but then became more intense. Law felt himself starting to grow hard and he broke the kiss. Luffy was likely too sore from earlier to go a third round so soon. Besides, they were out in the open where they could be seen. He didn't want anyone to see Luffy in an intimate way. He was starting to feel his alpha instincts to be possessive and protective of his omega mate. He knew Luffy didn't need protection, but the instinct was present.

Luffy wanted to be closer to Traffy, so he climbed into the alpha's lap. But when he sat, he felt something poking him. He knew right away what it was and looked over his shoulder at the other.

Law was a little taken aback by Luffy's sudden plopping in his lap and he knew Luffy could feel his semi-hard erection. Now that Luffy's ass was directly on it, he got even harder.

"You're hard again," Luffy said innocently.

Law, slightly embarrassed regardless of what they did earlier, flushed and cleared his throat. "Well, sometimes a rut…lasts a little longer than a heat cycle."

"Oh." Luffy shifted a bit in his lap. "Do you want to mate again?"

"Maybe not so soon," Law found it a little humorous that Luffy could come right out and say that bluntly. "It was your first time," his erection wasn't going to go away anytime soon. He felt dirty thinking of telling Luffy to use his mouth or his hand because he was so naive.

"I'm only a little sore," Luffy said.

"It will go away on its own."

"No, it doesn't go away. It happens to me too." He slipped out of his lap and turned to face Traffy. "I can just use my hand,"

Again, Luffy was so blunt it was almost funny. "Well, I'm not going to stop you,"

Luffy pulled the waistband of Traffy's pants down to free the alpha's erection. He licked his palm a few times and then wrapped it around Traffy's cock. The alpha let out a soft moan and he started gently stroking it, slow at first, then speeding up. He thought about what he did to make himself feel good, and he would do that for Traffy. He paused a few times to rub the slit with his thumb and slide his finger underneath the mushroom-shaped head. Traffy liked what he was doing because the alpha started panting. Luffy kept up the same speed until the other came in his hand. He brought his hand up to his mouth and licked some of the sticky white cum from his fingers.

"You taste good," Luffy said with a little flush.

"You didn't have to do that," Law said.

"But I wanted to," Luffy leaned forward and planted a kiss on his alpha's lips. Then, he rinsed his hand off in the water and picked up both discarded fishing rods. He handed one to Traffy, then settled between the alpha's legs again, his back resting against his chest. Luffy cast the line into the water.

Law did the same, feeling oddly relaxed and calm. They were sharing the quiet atmosphere of fishing. Law buried his nose into Luffy's dark hair, nuzzling it and taking in the sweet scent. This scent belonged to him, as Luffy was his mate. He noticed the scent more now that they were a mated pair. It was that scent mixed with Luffy's arousal when he was in heat that made it special. Luffy's arousal was only for him, and his scent was for Luffy only. The thought of another alpha trying to get to Luffy made his inner wolf growl. Someone like Doflamingo would snatch Luffy away for his own just to torment him. Maybe he shouldn't let Luffy fight with him after all. He couldn't risk losing Luffy to Doflamingo.

"What's wrong, Traffy?"

"Hm? Huh?" Law had been lost in his thoughts. Luffy glanced over his shoulder at him.

"I can feel your emotions. You're angry about something."

Law sighed. He'd best tell Luffy what is on his mind. "I don't think I want you fighting with me to take down Doflamingo. I want you to leave him to me," Luffy spun around to face him.

"But why not? You've seen me fight! I'm a strong fighter!"

"You are, but…" he glanced away, trying to find the right words. "But Doflamingo isn't just any Alpha Prime. He took down my whole pack, me included. He might…go for you outright if he knows you're my mate. He might purposefully hurt you or force mount you just to get to me,"

"Oooh, I see," Luffy thought for a moment, tapping his chin. "Well, he doesn't have to know we're a mated pair, right? There's no way he can know,"

"But you're an omega fighting him,"

"So? I'm not the only omega in my pack. We're all fighters, and we're going to win," Luffy said with confidence. "I'm not worried at all!"

Law loved how confident Luffy was, and he wished that he could have that same type of confidence. However, Luffy doesn't know Doflamingo like he does. He would have to fight while protecting Luffy and save his pack.

"Stop worrying so much," Luffy said. "I'm not worried, and you shouldn't be either. Okay?"

Law smiled softly. "Yeah, I guess you're right. It's just…I was so useless during that fight. If I weren't sick, I could have beaten him."

"You can beat him this time," Luffy said, taking Traffy's face in his hands and squishing the alpha's face. "And we will beat him!" He gave his alpha another kiss. "Okay?"

Law let out a little laugh and said, "Okay, okay! I trust you!"

They went back to fishing for most of the day until Luffy's stomach couldn't handle being hungry any longer. Hopefully, Sanji would be making dinner by the time they got back. Luffy took Law's hand in his as they walked back to the village. They were in luck as Luffy's nose picked up the scent of roasting meat. Luffy left Law's side to run to the outdoor table where the rest of his pack sat. Law joined them, taking the seat next to Luffy.

There was bread and fresh vegetables on the table but Luffy wanted to eat the meat. Sanji was almost done cooking the main dish. Luffy helped himself to a roll, munching down on it loudly and happily.

"Since we're all here, we should talk about the upcoming fight," Said Nami, looking over at Law. "You look like you're mostly healed,"

"I am. A few more days, I think," Law replied. "That's what Chopper said, anyway,"

"He does need a little more rest," Chopper chimed in.

"Maybe someone should stay behind and protect the village," Usopp said, smiling nervously. "I volunteer!"

"Just how big is this guy's pack?" Zoro asked, his arms crossed on the table.

"With the nine of us, we should just be enough," Law looked over at Chopper and said, "Do you feel comfortable coming to the fight? You're a deer, after all."

Chopper, like Usopp, smiled nervously. "I can hold my own with my antlers and hooves, but maybe I should stay behind with Usopp and help him!"

"Anyone else want to stay behind?" Law asked, but no one answered. He nodded. "That leaves seven of us,"

"All we have to do is take down the Alpha Prime," Said Franky. "If we all gang up, it shouldn't be too hard."

"That will make the rest of the pack surrender," added Brook.

"We need to get past lead wolves first," Said Law. "He has a high number of pack members, but that doesn't mean they are strong or good fighters. It's going to take everything we have to take down Doflamingo."

"We don't actually need to help you," Zoro said to Law. "You know that, right?"

Law nodded. "Yeah, I know…but-"

"If we take him down now," Started Robin "We won't have to worry about him trying to do the same with our pack."

"Once my pack sees me, they will stand and fight," Law added. "Robin is right. Doflamingo will keep taking over packs and he's likely aiming for the title of Supreme." Law looked at Luffy who swallowed a large mouthful of bread.

"I'm going to take him down!" Luffy said seriously. "I'm going to be the Supreme, not him!"

The discussion stopped when Sanji came out with a steaming plate of meat and roasted vegetables for Chopper. Luffy dived in first, taking the biggest piece of meat and ignoring Nami who was loudly scolding him. Law waited for everyone else to take some meat before he took a slice for himself.

After dinner, it was already getting dark out and Luffy wanted to take a walk with Law. Luffy took the alpha's hand and they made their way through the orchards and to the pond. When they came out into the clearing, Law could see dozens of tiny little floating gold lights. They were fireflies.

"I wanted to show you how pretty the pond can be with the fireflies," Luffy told him.

"It's funny, I don't get many fireflies in my home," Law said.

"I like to catch them! Catch them with me!"

Law declined, taking a seat on a rock and telling Luffy to go have fun. Luffy pouted, but then he raced off to chase the fireflies. He changed into his wolf form to catch the floating balls of light. Law's wolf was growing a little anxious and wanted to be freed after seeing Luffy's form. Law transformed and sat on the ground, still watching Luffy. When Luffy saw Law was also in wolf form, he abandoned the fireflies to rush happily towards his mate. Law just remained seated as Luffy nuzzled and licked his face.

"I'll race you around the pond," Luffy challenged, jumping and wagging his tail.

Law could go for a good run, but he doubted he could beat Luffy in a race. If the omega's energy level is like this, then he must be swift on his feet. But Law accepted the challenge, and the two began their race. Just as Law thought, Luffy was ahead of him, but not by much. They raced around the pond three times before stopping at the dock with Luffy as the winner. Law was panting a little, but Luffy appeared to still have energy. Law took a seat on the dock and Luffy joined him. The omega kept nuzzling his neck and cheek, but he didn't mind. Law could feel how happy Luffy's wolf was in their bond. It made him happy, too.

"It's a nice night, huh?" Luffy said, looking up at the moon. He stood up and gave a howl. Law couldn't help but howl as well, though he made his shorter than Luffy's.

"You have a nice howl," Law told him.

"You too!" Luffy then transformed back and wrapped his arms around Traffy's neck. He nuzzled his nose into the dark fur, smelling the fine scent of the forest. Then, Traffy changed back, and Luffy flopped himself in the alpha's lap again. "We should go back soon. I'm actually getting a little sleepy,"

"You always have so much energy," Law said with a smile. "I didn't think you ever slept." He teased.

Luffy laughed at that. "I can sleep for a long time if I want!"

They sat in silence for a few moments, watching the moon reflect on the water and the fireflies bouncing around. Law wrapped his arms around Luffy's waist to hold the omega closer against him. He didn't want Luffy fighting, but there was nothing he could do to stop it. He can only hope that they can tag-team Doflamingo and get him to surrender. Law wanted to avoid killing if possible, but they might just have to do that to keep Doflamingo from coming back stronger. He wondered if Luffy had ever killed anybody. He doubted it. That wasn't in Luffy's nature. But should it come to that, Law promised himself that he would carry that burden and not Luffy.

The omega fell asleep in his arms, snoring softly. Law smiled and carefully got up, taking Luffy with him. He held Luffy like a small child and Luffy murmured a bit and wrapped his arms around Law's neck. Luffy was heavier than he looked, but he was being so cute that Law couldn't bear to wake him up. He carried Luffy all the way back to the village and to Luffy's cabin.

Law laid Luffy on the bed first, then crawled in beside him. He went to throw an arm over his mate, but Luffy flopped in his sleep, slamming his forearm into Law's face. Law moved Luffy's arm away only to have the omega roll over and take most of the blanket. Law sighed and pulled the blanket to cover him, but Luffy stole it again. There was one way he could stop this from happening. He rolled over to spoon Luffy against him, allowing for the blanket to cover them both. Luffy must have sensed and felt him because Law heard him say his name.

"-ve. Traffy…"

He wasn't sure what the first word before his name was, but he didn't focus on it. He liked having Luffy against him like this. Law closed his eyes and soon he was fast asleep.

Two days have passed, and Chopper gave the okay for Law to fight, so long as he spent most of it in wolf form. And today was the day. Today they will take down Doflamingo. Law paused with his hand on the door knob of the cabin, thinking about the upcoming fight. He was getting anxious and eager for the fight. He would win his pack back, and get rid of Doflamingo for good.

He opened the door and stepped out, finding the rest of Luffy's pack were in wolf form and waiting for him. Law transformed as well and trotted over to greet them. He noticed that Chopper and Usopp were with them. He had never seen Chopper's stag form before, and the antlers were large.

"I thought you two were going to stay here?" Law asked them.

"We were bullied into coming!" Usopp said with a long whine.

"I'm not a wolf like all of you, but I'm going to do my very best!" Said Chopper.

Law nodded at them and looked around at the others. Everyone was ready, including his mate. Luffy's tail was wagging like it was on fire. His mate was ready.

"Alright. Follow me!"
