Raven used her powers to hurl the other sorceress into the far wall. "I don't appreciate your attempt at possessing me," Raven growled, her rage growing. She glanced at Red Robin, who was pounding on a keyboard. He seemed fine, so she turned her attention back to the sorceress, whose face was now bloodied. The sorceress reached a hand to her face and gently drew it away. Raven saw terror appear on the sorceress' face. "Screw this," the sorceress muttered before teleporting away.
Raven reached out with her powers. "She's on the other side of the building," she said.
"I know," Red Robin replied. "I found her; she's not alone." He stepped aside so Raven could see the computer screen. Raven gasped when she saw who the witch was talking to. On this Earth, he looked the same, just younger.
"Deathstroke," Red Robin growled. "Great."
Anita was in shock. Who is that girl? How powerful is she? How did she injure me? That shouldn't be possible. Limping and holding a dislocated shoulder, she sighed in relief when she came across Deathstroke, who had been sent to check the hostages, and several guards.
"Deathstroke!" Anita barked.
"Enchantress?" Deathstroke looked her up and down. "What happened?" He didn't know that Enchantress could get hurt.
"That girl," Anita groaned. "She's different. I couldn't…" Her voice trailed off.
"Couldn't what?"
"Never mind," Anita said. "Let's find your daughter. We're going to blow this facility."
"What about the test subjects?"
"The fire won't be able to reach them. We can come back for them later. Let's go."
"Damn," Red Robin swore, angrily hitting the keys.
"What?" Raven asked.
"Beast Boy and Miss Martian—I can't find them." Red Robin angrily clicked past screens. One moment, a small female - obviously Rose - was dragging the two heroes behind her. The next second, they disappeared in green smoke. "Come on; we'll follow their trackers."
Raven and Red Robin ran down corridor after corridor, pummeling every foe in their way. As they turned a corner, multiple explosions filled the air, and the building's foundation shook.
"Woah!" Raven braced herself against the wall.
"Look out!" She heard Red Robin scream. An incredible force knocked her onto her back. Opening her eyes, she saw Red Robin's face inches from her own as he lay on top of her.
"You okay?" he asked, rolling off her.
Surprise washed over Raven; he seemed genuinely concerned. Her shock only increased when he held out a hand to help her up. "Um…yeah. I'm fine," Raven said, taking his hand. She turned to where she had been standing moments ago. A large portion of the ceiling had fallen there. "Thank you," she said.
Red Robin didn't reply. He placed a hand to his ear and spoke, "Kid Flash! Superboy! Can you hear me?" Silence. "KF! Superboy! Come in!"
"Dude," Raven sighed in relief when she heard Kid Flash's voice in her ear. "What was that?"
"Are you guys okay?" Red Robin asked.
"We're fine," Superboy said. "Kid Flash and I got separated in the explosion. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw Deathstroke and Rose."
"Yeah, he's here. So is Enchantress."
"Enchantress!"
"I'll fill you in later. You and Kid Flash—find a way out of the building."
"What about Miss Martian and Beast Boy?" Kid Flash asked.
"Leave it to me and Raven. Red Robin out." He then activated the hologram on his gauntlet. "Good, their trackers are still intact. Over here." Navigating the debris and bodies with the help of Raven's powers, they reached their destination in less than ten minutes just as another series of explosions erupted. "This…this is wrong," Red Robin said as he and Raven reached a dead end. He quickly began knocking on the wall. He then did a quick scan. "There's nothing here. This is just a wall. I don't understand. Their trackers place them here."
Raven reached out with her powers and felt a strange, almost imperceptible buzz. "They're here. It's a hidden portal leading to a pocket dimension."
"Come again?"
"A hidden—I'll explain later. Wait here."
Red Robin watched as Raven disappeared into the wall. "O-kay," he muttered, "I really need to brush up on my magic." Raven reappeared with a stunned look on her face and two unconscious teammates by her side. "Woah!" Red Robin said, taking Miss Martian into his arms. "Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Yeah…it's…I'm..." The building shuddered violently.
"We need to get out of here," Red Robin said. "Can you teleport?"
"Yeah," Raven held out her free hand. "Hold on to me." Red Robin did so. Once again, his stomach churned, and he fought the urge to vomit. "You okay?" Raven asked him.
"I need a second," Red Robin said, taking a moment to reorient himself. "Okay," he said. Speaking into his earpiece again, he said, "KF, Superboy, Raven and I are outside. Where are you?"
"Found you!" A breeze blew past them. Kid Flash stood in front of them. "Superboy is bringing the bioship," Kid Flash said, helping Raven support Beast Boy's weight. He let out a whistle. "Looks like we got outta there just in time," he said, looking back at the burning building.
"Yeah," Red Robin agreed as the bioship appeared overhead. "KF, there are a bunch of unconscious guards in that building."
"Say no more. I've got this." Raven watched as Kid Flash ran around the building, creating a pocket tornado. In less than a minute, he had extinguished the flames. Wow, Raven thought. He's way faster than Wally ever was. A pang shot through her chest as she thought of him. Not now. She shook her head. She was on a mission. Now was not the time to think about her woes.
"Good job," Red Robin said as the bioship appeared, "let's go."
Superboy jumped to the ground and took Miss Martian from Red Robin's arms.
Raven took a step towards the ship before falling to her knees. "Ow!" she gripped her head as pain shot through her skull. "Help us!" "Someone help me!" "I want to go home!" "It's so hot!" "Ahhhh!" The voices flooded her head.
"Raven, what's wrong?" Red Robin asked.
Raven's eyes flew open. There are more people somewhere on this island. She scanned her surroundings anxiously. Where are they? "There's…someone else here. Captives."
"Superboy," Red Robin turned to the clone.
Superboy closed his eyes and concentrated. "I don't hear anyone," Superboy frowned.
"Kid Flash," Red Robin turned to the speedster.
"On it," Kid Flash said before running away. Red Robin activated the holo-computer on his wrist and hacked Bruce's satellite. He then did a quick scan of the island as Kid Flash returned. "Iranthroughtheentireislandandsearchedallthecaves, dens, 'snooneelsehere," Kid Flash said.
"KF," Red Robin frowned. "Speed talk."
"Sorry, still coming down from the speed high. I searched every corner of this island. There's no one here."
Red Robin looked at his holo-screen. "Besides us and the guards in that building, no one is here, Raven."
Raven's powers rushed to the surface as she felt a spike of fear emanating from somewhere. "You're mistaken," she said. "There are prisoners here."
"Raven," Red Robin spoke sincerely, "you helped a lot on this mission. We relied heavily on your powers. Maybe you're just exhausted."
"I know I am," Kid Flash said, grabbing Beast Boy and running into the ship.
"You did well," Superboy added. "You just need to rest."
"No," Raven took a step back.
"Raven," Red Robin said warningly. Raven muttered a quick spell before disappearing into thin air. "Great," Red Robin frowned.
"I guess we just wait for her to return," Superboy shrugged.
"I'm beginning to understand Batman's aversion to magic—what the fuck!" he exclaimed as Raven landed on the ground unconscious, along with five other unconscious teens.
"What's going on?" Kid Flash appeared in front of his teammates. "Wait…is that Zachary Zatara?" he pointed to an unconscious male. "Where'd he come from? What in the world is going on?"
"I…do…not know," Red Robin admitted, looking at the six unconscious bodies. What was going on indeed?
