Chapter 18: Hero part 01.
Academy island, over the last year alone it has been home to several incidents all involving a certain Slifer slacker, a one Jaden Yuki. A fact that hasn't escaped one Dr. Crowler, head of the boys Obelisk blue dorms. As the good doctor made his way to a certain location very few people knew about he tried his best to avoid dueling if and all possible since it was at the moment crawling with weirdos, oh the irony, lead by none other than Atticus Rhodes. Noticing that the weirdos came from the very shadows themselves Crowler hasn't allowed himself a moment's rest as he pushed forward until he had no choice but to stop since it was the middle of summer with him wearing heavy make up as usual even KISS would comment at it as too much.
"…. Jaden….. if I ever come out of this alive….. you'll be thrown into detention for the rest of your natural life…"
At this precise moment Crowler looked up to notice a flying green man of all things soaring in place over his head while he checked his pulse.
"…. well old boy you've finally went delirious….."
That flying man however was none other the Elemental Hero Avion as he eventually came flying next to Jaden Yuki.
" acquired our target Jaden."
Jaden in turn asked the following.
" and how's the good doc? Healthy?"
Avion replied with.
" honestly that's debatable, physically however, he is unharmed."
Jaden at that ended the conversation by saying.
" good, now lead me to him."
With that Avion did just that as a few minutes later Jaden met with DR. Crowler face to face.
" you….!"
Unbothered Jaden continued the conversation as follows.
" listen I'd love to trade jokes and insults with you but we need to come up with a plan to protect the keys."
At this Dr. Crowler was livid and fuming, though to be fair it didn't take much to get him there especially with certain people.
" like I need you to tell me that!….. and for the record I have a plan in mind already…."
Curious Jaden asked.
"oh really, what is it?"
Crowler said at that proudly.
" remember little Belowsky?, I was going to see him."
Jaden nodded as he pointed out.
" he might not agree to help us you know, he's not much of a soldier or a fighter."
Having calm down a bit Crowler countered with.
" as sad as it is academy island is the only home he has so I am certain that he'd at least want to help."
As he said that a group of "agents" Shadows surrounded the two with Jaden not losing his cool.
" Doc Crowler?, how about we show them what we covered in class this year?"
As Jaden's duel disc came to life so did Crowler's duel vest as he admitted reluctantly.
" we will not only cover what we learned but I'll teach you something new as well!"
With that the battle started as Crowler soon realized that he couldn't let his duels with the weirdos drag out as those creatures kept respawning.
Meanwhile back with Alexis and the group at the " prison" complex.
As Alexis kept " Lana" at bay Syrus and Chazz managed to free all of the people enslaved by Nightshroud as they refocused their efforts to help the duo against their opponent.
" thanks guys but we've got this right Axel?"
Axel at that only nodded in response as he concentrated on the duel in front of him since he had but a mere 1000 life points left while Alexis fared no much better with 1500 while their opponent had exactly 2000 as her current score. As the duel dragged on with Yubel, after taking care of the older man Shepard returned on her own discretion to keep a watch over the duel and the lives of Jaden's friends eventually a few "agents" Shadows emerged to give Chazz and Syrus an hard time while Nightshroud secretly returned to his base to " feed" only to find this surprise waiting for him as he watched "Lana" duel noticing she wasn't comitting to their cause, in truth he needed strong souls to replenish his strength in preparations for Jaden's eventual arrival and the current souls who haven't escaped will have to do. Noticing Nightshroud Yubel swooped in to defend Jaden's friends however he wasn't directly aiming at them but the ceiling causing the structure to collapse all around them with everyone stopping their fights to save their lives.
" Yubel, get cousin Lana out of here, I'll evacuate the others."
With that said and done Yubel followed Axel's instruction as he shot debris with his custom duel disc as everyone hurried outside while "Lana" stood back.
' don't worry about me, you are not my target, Nightshroud however is.'
Before Yubel could get a word edgewise "Lana" disappeared with said protector knowing where she was headed. As Axel rescued the group from the certain death trap he asked Yubel.
" she went to academy island didn't she?"
Yubel simply nodded as Axel kept asking.
" think you could transport us there?"
Yubel replied as follows.
" it's energy consuming, for now I can send only one so think carefully."
by the time Yubel finished her reply the group was already voting while Axel spoke up.
" send Alexis Rhodes first."
Yubel asked skeptically.
" are you certain of your choice?"
Alexis answered truthfully.
" even if I'm indeed not I have to get closure with this whole abandoned dorms, Nightshroud and my brother."
Making a strong impression on Yubel, said guardian teleported the young lady and herself towards the island as Alexis observed her as she stated.
" you know something don't you?"
Yubel sighed.
" Your brother sacrificed his soul in order to save your headmaster from defeat at the hands on Nightshroud."
Alexis returned the gesture.
" thank you for telling me."
Yubel a bit suspicious at the girl's response asked.
" do you not wish to inflict harm on Nightshroud or to avenge your sibling?"
Alexis gave a reply that was straight to the point.
" even if I truly wanted to hurt or destroy Nightshroud that won't do me any good if he's the only one who can bring back Atti."
Convinced of her worth Yubel teleported Alexis around where Jaden was as him and Dr. Crowler were at the moment surrounded by "agents" Shadows. Seeing that Alexis didn't hesitate to summon her ace monster as she cleared the rest of the enemies away as Dr. Crowler straightened himself out.
" a fine example of your skills and status as Obelisk Blue Ms. Rhodes…"
Alexis stopped the pontificating right there saying.
" I appreciate the compliment but I have to find cousin Lana and Nightshroud."
Jaden asked with a little trepidation in his voice.
" what happened to our friends?"
Alexis bluntly said.
" Nightshroud tried to burry everyone present alive, everyone escaped safely though thanks to Axel and Yubel."
Relieved Jaden replied with.
" good work but it's not over yet, Yubel go back for the others and make sure they're safe and Crowler?"
At that Crowler wanted to chastise the Slifer slacker for not remembering to address him as Dr. but he refrained as Jaden said.
" you better give the rest of the keys to me and Alexis, I want you to find Shepard and guard the rest of the school, Nightshroud isn't beneath attacking the innocent."
Yubel didn't wait to be asked as she informed Crowler that Shepard headed towards the island's infirmary after she kept his injuries to a minimum. Before anyone could go their separate ways a sudden frightening realization hit Crowler like a ton of bricks.
" supposing this Nightshroud fellow targets the infirmary to draw you out?!, what then?, you'd be playing into his hand."
Utilizing quick thinking Alexis posed the following plan.
" I'll go with Crowler as his line of defense while Jaden will lure Nightshroud away from the infirmary."
With that Jaden agreed.
" and I think I just know how."
Listening , Jaden instructed Crowler to give up the keys he was carrying as he instructed Alexis to hide them as best she could to give Nightshroud the impression that the hero duelist carried the items he searched on his person,and with that they were off towards their destinations. In the meantime a weakened Nightshroud made his way towards the infirmary as he ran into his old friend "Lana".
' and here I thought I managed to be rid of your incompetence.'
Uncaring on the outside "Lana" simply replied while activating her custom duel disc.
' than allow me to return the favor.'
Unimpressed Nightshroud produced a custom duel disc of his own replying.
' let's make this quick I've got places to be.'
Just as the duel was about to start a fire blast crossed both Nightshroud's and "Lana's" head as they heard an all to familiar voice saying.
" why don't you pick on someone your own size?"
Nightsroud's only reply to Jaden was.
' wait your turn, you're someone special that I need to prepare for.'
jaden countered as follows.
" even if I hold the keys to make your plan a success!?"
With that Nightshroud smirked as he was about to retort before he was blasted by a sudden gust of wind was aimed directly at him with "Lana" declaring.
' you talk when you should be concentrating on fighting.'
Jaden at that quickly ordered for his ace monster Flame Wingman to repel said attack stating.
" I get why you'd want to kick his butt but I'll need him in one piece until Atticus is returned to his family and friends."
Nightshroud gave a knowing smirk as he stated.
' it seems I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.'
As those two were keeping Nightshroud at bay for the moment Alexis Rhodes and Dr. Crowler made it to the infirmary in record time as the latter asked the former.
" I haven't had the chance to ask before but how in the blazes we ended up in yet another classic ploy to take over the world and why on earth that slacker commands authority with such ease?"
Alexis replied as follows.
" you'd better make yourself comfortable because it's a long story."
Recapping everything to her teacher Dr. Crowler was flabbergasted about one detail in particular that almost made him scream in disbelief.
" how on earth it turned out that the slacker of all people is a reincarnated prince from a different dimension of all things?!"
Alexis sighed at that remark.
" I'm glad that was your take away from this entire story…."
With this said and done Alexis wasted no time as she glanced over at the infirmary before asking the head nurse and head mistress of the Obelisk girls dorm.
" how are we doing honestly Ms. Fontaine?"
Ms. Fontaine replied bluntly.
" some need medical supplies and some need immediate medical attention."
Alexis nodded saying.
" I can help with some of that, anything else?"
Fontaine concluded the conversation as follows.
" a few extra beds aren't out of the question."
Alexis sprang into action asking Dr. Crowler for permission to bring spare beds from the Obelisk's dorm to which he replied with.
" excellent idea, as a matter of fact let me handle this one personally."
Alexis asked with a bit of skepticism.
" are you sure you can handle it?"
To that Crowler responded in an unusual cheery tone.
" I'm quite certain, besides I have no shame in admitting that fighting is the privilege for the young while I'm much too old to count."
Knowing what he was getting at Fontaine couldn't help but ask with a chastising tone.
" then how about helping me with the sick and injured Doctor?!"
With that Crowler tried to weasel out as he headed towards the exit in a hurry.
" you do realize that I'm not that kind of doctor right?, in fact it's more like a doctorate really….."
As Crowler got farther away from the ladies in question both of them sighed as Fontaine remarked.
" at least he won't be around to foul up …."
Alexis couldn't help but think that Ms. Fontaine gave the understatement of the year before stating the following.
" Ms. Fontaine, I would need to use your phone if you don't mind."
Ms. Fontaine simply replied.
" by all means."
Speaking of means Yubel used whatever means she could to make sure that Jaden's friends were brought out of harms way without her having to sacrifice her own life force just in case the hero duelist needed her help with Syrus and Zane Truesdale being the first she brought as they were left a few yards away from the Obelisk Blue dorms.
" think you're up for a walk big bro?"
Zane answered with greeted teeth.
" I'll manage… but in the meantime… you should go on without me…"
Syrus tried to protest to which Zane eventually managed to soften his features as he explained the following.
" there's no one more prouder in you than me right now…. But…. knowing Jaden, he somehow already managed to get himself into a world of trouble….. and….. he'll definitely need you…."
Convinced Syrus was about to take off after Jaden but at that precise moment they came across Crowler lugging around mattresses from the dorm as the young Truesdale commented.
" what are you doing?, clearly you're not doing a yard sale."
Crowler at that was about to reprimend the young Truesdale for his poor attempt at humor in a clear crisis situation until he noticed Zane so instead he caught them up to speed as the older Truesdale stated.
" let me help you there professor, Sy get to Jaden now…"
Reluctantly Syrus nodded and acknowledged as he took off while Zane attempted to lend a helping hand as Crowler spoke.
" easy dear boy, we're losing people left and right already…"
Zane steadied himself as both headed back towards the infirmary. Not sure where he was heading, Syrus listened intently to his surrounding with his duel disc at the stand by as he tried to detect explosions near by and luckily enough a duel was happening, or rather multiple ones all at once as Jaden and " Lana" were currently surrounded by " agents" since Nightshroud has gotten a bit weaker since his " prison" was broken into and empty.
" too lazy to fight your own battles Nightshroud?, or just too fat?!…"
At that precise moment a whole bunch of " agents" rose from the ground as they tried to corner Jaden, trying to make him weak and exhausted for Nightshroud to take down easily.
' well thanks to those pests you call friends I'm being forced to improvise the next few steps of my grand plan.'
Just as he said that Syrus charged in as he summoned the ace monster of his deck.
" well don't look now but I'll be messing with it again…"
With that said ace monster, a combination of different vehicle monsters forming a colosus of epic porportions launched a direct assault on the "agents" reducing their numbers just enough for Jaden and Lana to get through only to realize that he vanished in the commotion. With the trio fighting off the rest of said "agents" Syrus eventually asked.
" so what now?"
Jaden was about to ask what did he mean as "Lana" answered for them.
'he's wondering if we're all friends now since we have a common enemy'
Jaden at that asked the following question.
" well are we?!"
"Lana" only gave the following reply.
' no. I'll stop the creep myself.'
At that Jaden ventured to finish for her.
" and the next time we'll meet you'll make us regret we were even born?"
"Lana" only gave a nod in affirmation before she disappeared into the shadows as well as Syrus asked the only logical question.
" so what now?"
Jaden replied as followed.
" now we make sure that our friends and the ones we care about are all in one piece."
With that said and done the duo headed to the infirmary as Yubel materialized next to them.
" good news?"
Yubel answered as follows.
" your friends are safe and are waiting for you in the small hospital."
Making their way to said "Small hospital" the trio ran into Chazz pacing outside the infirmary like a guard.
" slackers get patched up because we're patrolling the island every three hours on the dot got it?"
Jaden at that nodded.
" sure thing pal."
At that Chazz just grumbled something inaudible as Yubel stayed outside as the two Slifers got inside. As soon as Jaden saw the number of both beds and patients in the room he quickly asked Alexis.
" that bad huh?!"
Alexis reassured him by saying.
" well we've got a silver lining, Adrian is arranging for a group of doctors on the payroll of the Gecko group to provide medical assistance."
Jaden sighed saying.
" that's a relief."
With that Alexis smiled as she began taking a closer look at Jaden as he asked in return.
" is there something on my face or what?"
Alexis replied while clearing her throat.
" just making sure you didn't injure yourself out there."
Touched by her concern Jaden couldn't help but smile at Alexis's thoughtfulness but before anything could develop further the hero duelist got yanked by the collar of his jacket by Chazz Princeton.
" whoa….. where's the fire buddy?!"
Chazz answered in a manner of fact tone.
" just saving you from doing something stupid."
Jaden at that simply replied.
" since when do I do that?"
Chazz, ticked at the direction this conversation was heading simply said.
" I'm going to pretend like you didn't just say that."
Patrolling the area like they said they would Jaden and Chazz found no traces of either the shadow " agents", Nightshroud's goons or Nightshroud himself for that matter which didn't sit well with the latter as the former pointed out.
" you're going to lose your hair worrying like you do."
Chazz said defiantly and defensively.
" I can rock any look I choose besides….."
With that Jaden urged Chazz to continue.
" Nightshroud wouldn't have invaded the island, trying to get the sacred beasts cards only to then run with his tail behind his legs… no, he's up to something."
Jaden at that admitted.
" couldn't help but wonder the same…"
At this point Chazz was the one urging Jaden to continue.
" but for right now we need to make sure our friends are safe, healthy and can patch themselves up before the final showdown."
With that said and done the duo kept patrolling the grounds until they got an update from Adrian that he was about to touch down with the cavalry on his tail. As the duo were heading back towards the infirmary Chazz asked Jaden point blank.
" you think he'll fall for your little trap?"
Jaden replied as follows.
" here's to hoping…."
Chazz nodded as he stated coolly.
" if you need help let me know and I'll push the punk into the trap myself if need be."
Jaden riffed on the gesture saying.
" that's a deal."
As the duo returned to the infirmary they were greeted by Adrian Gecko and the Rhodes family as they were caught up on what exactly happened, Jaden at that noticed that the older teen looked a bit distracted as he decided to ask.
" is something wrong buddy?"
Adrian replied as follows.
" the fact that you haven't crossed paths with Echo worries me a little."
Jaden gave him an easy going smile.
" well up until now we haven't had a guy like Jim helping us with Patrolling the grounds, so what do you say?"
Jim responded with confidence.
" finding people is child's play for me and Shirley."
Adrian breathed a sigh of relief.
" both of you thanks."
With that Jaden didn't waste a second as he already ran outside with Jim and Shirley on his trail as Adrian stated.
" what a spirited bunch."
Adrian at this point and time did all that he could do at the moment for Ms. Fontaine's patients before he ultimately went after Jaden and Jim, just in case if they needed some backup and with Echo's training that if was a guarantee. As Jaden and Jim patrolled the island the former began sprinting towards a particular destination as the latter commented.
" mate not to state the too obvious but the point of a search party is to keep your eyes peeled."
Jaden chuckled sheepishly saying.
" look, Echo is a smart girl right?, if she's working for Nightshroud then there's a safe bet that she'll go after what he's going for right?"
Jim nodded.
" true, but we don't know if she has a few mates with her."
Jaden asked in return.
" okay, since you're an expert, how should we go about it?"
Jim at this point released Shirley from his back as he let her loose on the ground explaining a few interesting facts about animals and many interests and hobbies as a shadowy figure tracked their every movement slowly and worst of all patiently, still after about half an hour Shirley alerted Jim that they were not alone.
" show yourself
With that a group of " agents" appeared before the duo as Jaden commented.
" hey guys, do you mind?…. One at a time huh?"
at that their opponents said nothing as a series of intense duels have begun with neither of them taking the lead with the duo in question getting really the others to advance the shadows began over whelming the heroes with sheer numbers. Eventually a classmate as made his move. Attacking within the clones the teenaged boy stated.
" Jaden… Jim…. save your strength…"
With that Jaden and Jim took the advice while Echo away from their notice kept a close watch on the proceedings with the next wave of "agents" on stand by.
' drain them of their energy but do not kill them.'
Just as the assailants and Echo were about to strike Adrian revealed himself to the group.
" sorry to have used you like that guys but I had to be sure before what's happening could get too serious and dire."
Jaden and Jim nodded with the former stating.
" we'll leave her to you then, come on Jim…"
As the duo soldiered on they eventually reached the chambers where the sacred beasts where kept as the place for the most part seemed deserted and untouched prompting Jaden to ask.
" does this feels like a trap to you?"
Jim just pointed out with the help of Shirley.
" those are traps all right, called Short Circuit planted all around us."
After getting a better idea about the trap Jaden eventually asked.
" so how do we get closer without setting them off?"
The duo at this point began thinking for a few moments before having an idea, sending a duel spirit to check the status of the sacred beasts, in this case Sparkman volunteered stating.
' I'll handle the traps, just make sure those monsters don't see the light of day.'
Short circuiting the traps Sparkman gave the okay to get closer as Jaden and Jim did reading themselves for another wave of duels as " agents" swarmed them from every directions.
" you remember the strategy right?"
Jim confirmed.
" one turn wins."
At that the " agents" spoke in unison.
' you don't actually think you'll win do you?'
Jaden smirked.
" we don't think, we know….."
with this the duels broke out all over again. As Jaden and Jim were being kept busy "Echo" made herself noticed just enough for the hero duelist to take notice as she tried to plant new Short Circuit cards and explode those however Nightshroud of all people stopped her.
' I appreciate the fact that you know what you're doing but if I'm not at my best when the beasts wake up all of our plans will go to hell.'
"Echo" nodded as she asked.
' what do you have in mind for me then?'
Nightshroud smirked.
' hold those heroes at bay while I feed.'
With that Nightshroud disappeared into the shadows as " Echo" kept watch on the would be heroes until she noticed Adrian rushing by the duo covered in a few noticeable cuts and bruises.
" you've got my attention, what do you want?"
The female figure in question replied with.
' for you to take your rightful place.'
Adrian sighed as he thought to himself.
' not that old song and dance…'
Before he could act " Echo" sent out a few more " agents" to keep him, Jaden and Jim busy, however Adrian was having none of that.
" Jaden… I'm counting on you to keep everyone safe…."
Before Jaden could ask what's it all about Adrian rushed "Echo" as she disappeared into the shadows effectively taking him with her as she left with the " agents" to let the duo to lick their "wounds".
" Jaden….."
Jaden stopped Jim right there and then.
" thanks pal but I don't need cheering up at the moment."
Jim acknowledged as he asked just in case.
" are you absolutely sure?"
Jaden answered honestly.
" I don't agree with what he did but if that gives us just a little bit of time against Nightshroud then we'll need to take advantage of that."
In the hideout of Nightshroud.
As the villain in question returned to his domain he noticed his associate has picked up a straggler along the way as he chuckled.
' what a lovely souvenir you picked my dear, though I don't sense much darkness within this one.'
Nonchalant Adrian replied with.
" I dealt with it a while ago."
Intrigued Nightshroud entertained the older teen.
' why have you come?'
Confident Adrian replied with.
" I think you already know."
Nightshroud responded as follows.
' humor me.'
Adrian activated his duel disc as he inserted his deck responding with.
" if you say so."
Nightshroud in return surprised him by " letting" the only useful pawn he had left to duel for him to which "Echo" accepted.
' have fun you two.'
Nightshroud at that disappeared completely into the shadows leaving the two to fight it out among themselves. In the meantime as Jaden and Jim returned to the infirmary the former threw himself into training and practicing with his deck all throughout the day and well into the night and when he finally thought he could get a bit of rest the hero duelist couldn't get to sleep. Restless he went for a long walk across the school building where he found Chazz patrolling.
" get yourself back to bed!"
Jaden gave a smirk and a weak laugh saying.
" it seems I can't."
Chazz continued the conversation bluntly.
" I've got an old fashioned fix for the problem and it will only leave a bump on your head."
At that Jaden sweat dropped a bit while replying.
" thanks but for some reason I really don't want it…"
Chazz at this point confronted him directly.
" then stop whinning like a little baby."
Jaden was about to protest after hearing said remark however Chazz opted to silently toss him a spare flashlight saying.
" might as well be useful for a change."
Giving a devilish smirk jaden said the following, knowing what's about to come next.
" well gee Chazz….. you sure know how to compliment people…."
With that the three Ojama brothers manifested in spirit form as they began showering Chazz with attention and affection or in short pestering him.
" I'm going to get back at you for this….!"
Jaden said innocently.
" I have no idea what you mean."
Chazz at that raised his voice.
" don't you think playing it dumb will keep working for you!"
Jaden's response this time was priceless, well depends on who you're asking.
" Chazz….. will you keep it down?, I'm sure that someone and somewhere around here is trying to sleep…."
Chazz didn't fall for this routine as he instead lead Jaden along the patrol route as the two headed on occasionally roasting each other as eventually they began going through the forest as well as Jaden sensed something.
" get ready….. we're not alone….."
chazz rolled his eyes saying.
" gee can you be even more cryptic?"
before this conversation could continue developing further a familiar figure approached them, the one calling herself " Lana" as the two deployed their duel discs at the ready as they asked in unison.
" what do you want?!"
" Lana" replied in kind."
' revenge against Nightshroud…. I'll make sure he'll pay for what he did to me.'
Sensing where it's going the duo quickly stood in her way not relenting for a moment as " Lana" said.
' I consider myself an even tempered gal….. it would be a pleasure tearing you apart.'
Chazz butted in saying.
" promises promises….. let's fight already…"
With that said and done back in the infirmary Alexis suddenly woke up with a strange feeling descended upon her, in turn she decided that a short walk would do her some good. About half way through her walk she heard the resident loud mouth Chazz as someone was trying to start a duel so she ran towards the sounds with a sinking feeling in her stomach.
' hold on guys, the cavalry is on its way…'
That feeling turned to be an accurate prediction as she saw " Lana" manifest a duel disc while Jaden and Chazz were slotting their decks into theirs while the former saw Alexis.
" oh hey there what brings you to these parts of the woods?"
Having little patients Chazz blurted.
" who cares!?, just concentrate on the fight you slacker, or do you actually want to lose your life?!"
Jaden ignored that little rant as he asked.
" anything we should know before the duel starts?"
Alexis replied as follows.
" don't let her drag this duel out no matter what."
Jaden at that nodded in acknowledgement as Chazz asked the following.
" any other useful advice?"
Having no patience for his attitude Alexis blurted out.
" you seriously need a girlfriend."
Caught by surprise Chazz tried to get the conversation back on track as Jaden stifled a laugh, trying not to crack up as the former noticed.
" anything you want to add?!"
Jaden just smirked saying.
" it's true."
Chazz having no luck trying and get this duel going sighed in frustration as he saw that even "Lana" had a smirk on her face, a sadistic one if he had to guess, as he asked.
" mind if I knock some sense into this joker before we start our little three way fight?"
" Lana" simply responded with.
' normally I would've attacked you while you weren't looking but I have to admit I do find you three at least amusing.'
To that Chazz simply replied with.
" why thank you…"
"Lana" not appreciating the sarcasm simply stated.
' mind your tone.'
Jaden, still in a bit of a funny mood chimed in.
" yeah Chazz….. watch it."
Chazz could only facepalm as he thought to himself.
' what did I ever do to deserve this….'
With the fun and games mood dying down a bit " Lana" asked the following.
' having allowing you this moment of levity, are you prepared to face me in a duel?'
Jaden, having calmed down a bit from the comedy routine, gave a confident smile as he sincerely replied.

Intrigued " Lana" allowed him to ask the question.
" are you sure you're the bad guy?"
Chazz almost face faulted as he asked bluntly.
" if she stands against us then of course she is so why ask this question now of all places?"
Jaden answered honestly.
" I doubt Nightshroud asked her nicely to join his little circle of friends but no matter… we'll find all the answers we'll need in this duel."
With that said and done Chazz couldn't help but agree with this statement though he wouldn't admit that out loud.
