Link does a brief stop in Tarrey Town, is petty, goes to see Prince Sidon, and has a chat in the aftermath of a fight.

Link handed the list to President Hudson. "This should be a good plan for making a new crane. I hated it at first, but Zonai tech is sooo much more user friendly than the Sheikah tech."

Hudson nodded. "I was sad to see the crane dissolved by gloom, but hey. It does mean we don't have a crane trying to murder us. Your plan to set machines to dissolve instead of be used against us was a good one."

Link said, "Well, not really planned it as such... It was only supposed to shut down and collapse so it could be reassembled after purifying it..."

"Oh." Said Hudson. "Anyways I am glad to hear the sand shroud is gone. It takes a real weight off my mind, knowing it will be safer for my little girl. You say Chief Riju took that Queen Gibdo out that fast?"

"Man, she was scary. She just moved her swords like this, then boom! No more Gibdos!"

Hudson said, "So looking at this list of parts, we can supply these things, but not that. I'll get you what I can, and I'll give you a discount for your help here. Take care out there. Hope you find Zelda soon."

Link decided to be boring and took the public car up. The slow ride was perfect for checking his map and supply lists. Stepping off, there was Hagie.

Link normally would ignore the living daylights out of Hagie. He was still rather irritated by the scam artist and Zelda had said no to murder. This ignoring plan would not get him that shrine crystal though so Link mustered all his patience.

Link walked over and said a pleasant "Morning!"

Penn looked around Tarrey warily. No horses were to be seen. Penn relaxed. He figured today would be a good day to do a story about something nice, quiet, and not involving crazy horses.

Heck maybe people had rumors about Link. Penn had been asking about Zelda sightings, but what about Link sightings? Penn figured he could check around.

Penn stopped a man with shaggy blond hair. "Hey there! If you have a minute, I was wondering if you have heard any interesting news lately. Especially about the missing knight, Link. You know him?"

The short blond stared at Penn for a solid ten seconds. He finally said, "Yeah."

"Have there been any sightings of him around here? See I work for the Lucky Clover Gazette. It is weird but I think I met his horse!"

"You met Epona?"

"Do you know other horses that set monsters on fire and chuck people into wells?"

The blond man grinned. "Huh. You a friend of hers?"

"I thought I was until she threw me down a well. I'm getting off topic. So what about Link? Anyone seen him lately?"

"See that guy over there? His name is Hagie. I hear he sold a rock to Link that he took from the Hudson Construction dig."

Penn thanked the blond man and went to talk to Hagie.

Penn soon regretted talking to Hagie.

(Unbeknownst to the reporter and Hagie, Link had been in the middle of his own investigation.)

Penn made a break for it when he saw an opportunity to leave talking to Hagie. Penn spread his wings, then saw a crowd consisting of what had to be half the population of Tarrey Town. Penn pulled out a notebook because this screamed of a scoop. Near the back, the blond man had a carefully neutral expression written on his face.

"Hey, Hagie. What is this I hear about the railcar having always been free to the public?" Asked one Hylian woman. She looked about ready to kill with that broom she held.

Penn whispered to an elderly lady, "Who is that?"

"His wife." Whispered back Monari. "Oh and Rhondson is coming here. She heard Hagie tried to scam her daughter..."

It was not often Penn got to watch a man face consequences in such a dramatic fashion. He scribbled away notes for a great article on fraud in Hyrule. Every now and then, the blond man he'd got the Link sighting lead from would lean over the notepad and whisper fun historical facts about Tarrey Town's people.

Sidon and Link sat on the Water Temple steps. Sidon's mastery of water was, as it turned out, quite handy for cleaning sludge off a spear. Link set up a picnic lunch between them before talking. "Well, normally I would say that was overkill but the evil pest was asking for it. So, you and Yona, huh? She is pretty great. I bet her and Zelda are going to be instant friends."

"I can't wait to see them meet once you bring Zelda back. Yona chose a rotten time to come to Hyrule, but having her help keep the Domain water supply clean has been a huge blessing. She is the best." Link muttered something about Zelda being the best. Sidon looked up at the temple. He brushed off a bit of ash from his arm. "I wonder what everyone thinks of the, um, view?"

Link looked at the very much on fire Water Temple. "Do you want to use the Purah Pad to warp down and reassure them things are under control?"

"Yes please. It would be better than you pushing me over the side."

"That was one time, Sidon, and it was your sister's idea."

"Mmm hmm. Sure. Hey, is that the Light Dragon over there?"

Link sprang to his feet, lunch forgotten. "Yes! Go tell everyone things are all right now, I got what I need to reach her with Tulin's help. See you after the fire is out!"

Link pulled some rockets out, fused them to things, then handed off the Purah Pad to Prince Sidon. They both returned when the Water Temple cooled off to retrieve the Secret Stone. Link felt better after chatting with the dragon, even if she wasn't listening. Plus, he'd obtained more samples for Zelda to study from her dragon form. He added a new note to the observations for Zelda. Turns out, these dragons didn't have saliva he could harvest. Link wasn't sure how relevant that would be, but Zelda might find it fascinating.

Notes: Yona and Sidon make a cute couple. All hail the royal supportive zoras!

How often is Link the one with the less violent plan than Epona? It can't be a frequent thing. And I can think of at least one way to torch the Water Temple but you guys probably have better ideas. I haven't tested setting the boss on fire. Maybe I should go to the depths and do that. Probably should have finished this a while ago, but I had another idea I had to stop and write a fic for.
