"Your move, Ladybug," Adrien told Ladybug as they sat on bean bags in his room, playing a mean game of chess. At least, Adrien was. How was he so good at this game?!
Ladybug narrowed her eyes in concentration, and Adrien couldn't help but think how cute she was when she made faces. She picked up a piece, then dropped it, clutching at her stomach.
"You okay?" Adrien asked in concern. Ladybug gave a weak grin. "Oh, I'm fine. I was just so excited to see this morning, I came straight from Starbucks."
"So, where does that rank me? Number Two in your heart?" he joked. Ladybug scrunched up her face. "You and Kitty are tied, so…." "What happens if I dress up as a cup of coffee, do the rankings change?" "Oh, Adrien!" they laughed together and it felt good.
Adrien pulled out his phone. "Come on, let's order lunch, my treat. What are your favorite pizza toppings?" "I was thinking of Paninis, actually." "From Tom and Sabine's?" Adrien's mouth watered. "Oh, wait," Ladybug mused aloud and Adrien looked up from his phone. "What?" "What if there's akuma attack and the food goes cold?"
"Hmm? I make a great bowl of mac and cheese." "Okay, let's give it…." Ladybug sighed as a flash caught her eye up on one of the rooftops. "I spoke to soon. Look."
Adrien inwardly groaned as a akuma victim flapped his arms on the rooftop. At least it wasn't Pigeon Man, but there were still feathers. Sigh.
"I gotta call Cat," Ladybug sighed, heading to the window, "but I'll be back as soon as the fight's over," she said.
Adrien watched her go. "I'll be right behind you," he whispered. But first, he needed a clothespin to keep out the sneezes!
