Yugi Deck Exhibit: Day…
Kai walked on into the exhibit with Jasmine and noted how despite the events of yesterday, the place wasn't that packed. There were still plenty of students here to see the deck, but Kai had expected the room to be full after all the duels that took place.
The room itself was rather grandiose. Great banners of Yugi Muto hung from the walls, each showcasing him in various dueling positions. The room was organized with the displays in a circle, with each display showcasing a different deck.
Some of the displays were more high-tech than others, with holograms being used to show the cards that either couldn't be replicated or Industrial Illusions refused to supply. That would essentially be the Egyptian Gods and pieces of Exodia.
"Despite seeing the guy yesterday, this is still dueling history." Kai remarked, amazed.
"I didn't really take you for the expressive type of fan." Jasmine giggled. "It's a cute side to him."
"Despite what one may assume by how I've presented myself; I have immense respect for all those who paved the way." Kai responded.
Almost immediately after saying that, something caught his gaze. It was a display in what would be the middle of the circle. What made it stand out from the others was that it was double the size. Enraptured, Kai made my way over.
Inside the case were two decks. If one put them together, as well as update the cards within, they'd pretty much have an approximation of the cards the King of Games uses today. The deck on the left had dark magician & his old support, the face knights, magnet warriors, and so on.
The deck on the right had gadgets, Silent Swordsman & Magician, and the infamous Gandora, Dragon of Destruction. This seemed to be the display of decks Sheppard had mentioned. There was an inscription that went with it.
"I hope the inclusion of these cards will serve as a reminder that there will be times in our lives when we may lose those closest to us; however, they are not forgotten. The lessons, memories, and joy they brought us live on in our hearts and allow us to move forward.
-Yugi Muto"
Jasmine could have said something about Kai suddenly leaving her at the entrance like that; however, anything she could have said was silenced the moment she spotted tears running down his eyes. It's not like she couldn't see how this message would impact the guy.
There were a lot of things the female Obelisk could say, but rather than interrupt, she decided to grasp his hand in support. Kai didn't look at her, yet he grasped her hand in return with a gentle squeeze. They stayed like that for a good minute until Kai took a deep breath.
Jasmine took this as her opportunity to speak. "Hey, you alright?"
"I'll be fine." Kai wiped his eyes with his sleeve. "I just…I guess I've been obsessive over a lot of things in my life for nearly two years now. I was obsessed with not letting you guys in, I was obsessed with gaining skill rapidly, and I was obsessed on who my brother was.
No matter the truth, Varris hid a lot, and if I ever find out what exactly it was, I don't know how I'll react. What I do know is I can't forget all he did for me, what he meant to me. I can't recall how my parents died or even remember what they looked like.
Despite lacking them, it never felt like I lacked a parent growing up. Varris was always there, and when I try to think of my parents, his face is the one I see. For the longest time, it seemed like it was he and I against the world. Now, he's just not here anymore."
"Even though he's gone, you're not alone." Jasmine hugged his side. "I'm here now, and I'm sure everyone else in our group would say much the same."
"Yeah, in their own unique ways they'd likely say the same." Kai wrapped an arm around the Amazoness user. "Thanks, Jasmine."
Jasmine soon had then break apart and grabbed Kai's hand before leading him to the exit. "Come on, you need a treat. We'll come back later."
Kai managed a genuine smiled as he let Jasmine lead him out of the exhibit. Despite an emotional reaction, he was still determined to see the whole exhibit, but a treat sounded good right about now. A treat with this girl only sounded better.
Slifer Dorm: Days Later, Evening…
"If I could have everyone's attention, eyes forward students." The Slifers had been chowing down when Banner walked in and spoke up. "I would like you all to help me in welcoming some new transfer students, Blair Flannigan and Raynos Baron."
Blair seemed to be a small, effeminate boy wearing a large cap and had hazel eyes. Raynos was a taller guy with a bit of muscle, short jet-black hair, and royal blue eyes. Both were wearing Slifer uniforms.
"Usually, we get transfer students closer to the beginning of the year." Chumley noted.
"So, this is a stranger occurrence?" Greg questioned.
"Ah, who cares how strange it is." Syrus voiced. "That shorter Slifer is smaller than me and dresses goofier to boot. Being beaten out in those areas, what's left for me?"
"Don't you always go around saying you got the looks in your family?" Dimitri questioned.
"Regardless of that, you should be nice Sy." Jaden stood. "Blair and Raynos, welcome to S-l-i-f…something…Slifer!"
Raynos just gave a small smile while Blair seemed a bit put off.
Greg sighed. "If you can't even spell Slifer, I'm forcing you into lessons with Bastion."
Jaden decided to ignore that, not that it would prevent Greg from making good on what he said, as he rushed up to the new students. "Anyways, we're the best dorm of campus."
He threw a friendly arm around Raynos and patted Blair's back; however, the latter seemed uncomfortable.
"Can't say I expected quite the warm welcome." Raynos remarked.
Blair merely retreated behind Banner.
"I'd be cautious with how attached you grow to these two." Banner remarked. "Both scored well on the written and duel portions of the exam. They'd certainly be in Ra now if not for the fact all transfer students must start in Slifer. I imagine we won't be holding onto them long."
"They're that good, huh?" Jaden smiled. "Sweet, sounds like the island's got some new competition around."
"That said, your exuberance at meeting our new transfer students means you can house Blair here." Banner declared, drawing shocked looks from Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley. "Raynos is considered the first transfer student, so he gets the spare bed with Greg and Dimitri."
Said roommates looked at one another before shrugging in acceptance. Even if the pair were against a third roommate, it's not like it was their choice. Truth be told, they wouldn't have minded having both in their room, but Banner had already decided by the looks of it.
"As Raynos does end up filling out the last room we currently have available, Blair needs somewhere to be for the time being." Banner gently pushed the new student out. "Go on, say hello to your roommates."
Blair nodded. "Hello."
Academy: Next Day…
"You look as though you've got a peep in your step." Bastion noted as he sat beside Kai.
"Yeah, I've been feeling pretty good lately." Kai returned.
Despite the emotional roller coaster he'd been on, Kai would say it was worth it. He had been able to do a great deal of self-reflection that saw him be content with what life was now. That's not to say he wasn't going to duel Bastion and keep to his rematch with Zane should he win.
Kai already put in all this work, so he wasn't about to let it go to waste. Once everything wrapped up, he wouldn't have a new goal to strive for beyond the general improvement that came with time, but that was something almost everyone experienced.
The Obelisk and Ra transitioned into more commonplace topics until their Slifer friends entered the class, along with two new Slifers. As they walked the new guys to their usual seats, Kai stared at Raynos with a look of confusion.
"That guy looks familiar." Thing is, no memories were coming to mind like they typically should when you've seen someone before. "Now that I think about it, this isn't the first time…"
Kai's thought process suddenly stopped as his head began to hurt. "Er!"
"Kai?" Bastion asked, concerned. "Are you alright?"
The war challenger user grunted as whatever he'd been thinking vanished from his mind. It was to the point he wouldn't even be able to recall attempting to remember anything to begin with.
"My head just started hurting, it's a sharp pain." Kai grunted, holding his head.
"Oh dear, we should get you to Nurse Fontaine." Bastion stated, luckily Banner was just entering the room. "Professor Banner." He caught the man's attention, drawing him to them. "Can I take Kai to the nurse's office? His head suddenly started hurting."
Kai wasn't typically the type to fake something, and he seemed to be in genuine pain.
Banner nodded. "You may, Mr. Misawa."
Kai nodded in thanks to the professor as he followed the Ra out of the room, their friends shooting varying degrees of worried looks after the war challenger user. Jasmine prepared to take notes for the two of them.
While they left, Banner swiftly went over to talk with the new Slifers. After exchanging some words, the professor led the new pair to a door at the side of the teacher's desk. Said professor then took his usual place to address the class.
"Good morning, everyone." Banner greeted. "I trust the rest of you are well. Before we proceed, I have a couple of introductions to make." Smiling, he gestured towards the door to his right. "You can come in now."
The two Slifers entered with Blair keeping his head low while Raynos strolled in.
"Class, this is Blair Flannigan and Raynos Baron." Banner introduced. "Please, treat them kindly." He looked to the new students. "Would you two like to introduce yourselves?"
"H-Hello, I'm Blair…" Blair managed.
"Hey everybody, name's Raynos Baron." Raynos smiled. "I look forward to learning with you."
Having finished introductions, the two newcomers were told to take their seats. The pair rejoined the Slifers. Aside from the lack of Kai and Bastion, class proceeded as normal. Eventually, the bell rang; however, Banner declared there'd be an announcement from the chancellor.
"Settle down students. Attention please." Almost the entire student body, years 1-3, lined up by dorm in the main hall before Chancellor Sheppard appeared on a giant monitor. "Now, the big matchup with our rival school, North Academy, is coming up.
Last year, our solo and tag team reps whopped them good, and I want to see that repeated with whoever is chosen to represent us this time." Blair stared at Zane and blushed. "Now, we haven't decided this year's reps, so if you keep working hard, you may be the one who gets the honor."
As the Chancellor finished his speech, the screen went black, and the students were dismissed. The group of now seven Slifers made their way out of the building together.
"Oh man, I am pumped!" Jaden cheered, grinning from ear to ear. "I can't wait to see how students from North Academy duel! Hey, do you think it could be me representing the school?"
"I don't think so, Jaden." Syrus stated. "Zane has represented the school as the solo rep the last two years while I hear the tag team rep was Atticus. Given he's not here, I expect one of his partners will likely take up that mantle and pick whoever they're comfortable dueling with."
"What makes you so sure Zane's in?" Jaden asked.
"Because he's amazing…" Before Syrus could reply, Blair had interrupted.
Her eyes were distant and cheeks a little rosy.
Jaden's brow furrowed. "Uh…yeah…I guess."
"Anyways, Dimitri and I are going to help Raynos settle into our room properly." Greg stated.
"Yeah, see you guys around." Dimitri added.
"It was cool hanging with you guys." Raynos added, as the three Slifers took off.
"Guess it's just the…" Jaden looked around and noted someone was missing. "Huh, where'd Blair go?"
Syrus and Chumley looked around, equally confused. In the few seconds they had taken their eyes off the guy, Blair had disappeared.
Nurse's Office
Kai had taken some headache medicine and laid down with a washcloth over his head. This was the state Bastion returned to, though it was later than the Obelisk expected. The Ra filled him in on why that was, and while the the school duel sounded cool, Kai was glad his head felt better.
"So, you really are feeling better?" Bastion asked.
"Yeah, thanks for bringing me here." Kai stated.
"No problem, though you aren't really the one to get headaches like this." Bastion voiced. "Has this happened before, yet you haven't filled us in?"
"Not to my knowledge or memory." Kai stated, any memory of it having happened before stricken from his mind.
"Then, it is rather peculiar." Bastion noted. "Anyways, you should rest up a bit longer here. Jasmine should be arriving shortly with a soda from one of the vending machines, as in some cases a jolt of caffeine could help in this regard."
Not even a second after saying that, Jasmine entered with said soda in hand. "I'm here." She opened the can and brought it to Kai, who sat up. "Drink this."
Kai smiled gratefully. "Thanks."
Sheppard's Office
"Zane, are you sure about this?" Sheppard asked, his expression grave.
"I am." The Kaiser replied. "If North Academy is using a freshmen representative, it would not be fair for me to participate."
After the assembly, Zane had gone to the Chancellor's office to discuss the upcoming duel. What Sheppard had to say surprised him. North Academy had announced their representative for this year would be a freshman. Zane had expected them to continue with their 'Czar', Yuri.
Sheppard rested his head upon his hands, a thoughtful look on his face. "There is a lot at stake with this duel. The Academy's credibility, reputation, and of course…the grand prize."
Zane resisted the urge to roll his eyes considering just what that prize was. "We have plenty of excellent freshmen this year, Chancellor."
"Oh, you have any recommendations?" Sheppard asked.
"I have two in mind, no doubt duelists their respective head of dorms would wholeheartedly back." Zane responded. "Both are capable duelists who could lead the academy to victory."
"The matter will have to be brought to the other teachers." The chancellor nodded thoughtfully. Together, we can come to a decision. I trust you will be willing to attend?"
It wasn't really a question. Even as a student, Zane received far more sway at the academy than any of his peers.
"Will that be all, Chancellor?" Zane asked.
"Yes, Thank you for your time." Sheppard nodded. "With the loss of many Obelisks through that Duel Giant escapade, we're planning a promotion exam soon. The day after it takes place, I'll convene all the teachers."
"Understood." Zane stated before taking his leave.
Obelisk Male Dorm
Topher was returning to the dorm when he spotted Blair walking along a tree branch near Zane Truesdale's window. "That's not good." He watched as the guy lept into the room. "Jaden and the others could catch flak for this."
The dragon user could ignore this, pretend he never saw it, but he wasn't like 95% of Obelisk anymore. Topher climbed the tree and lept onto the balcony.
Zane's Room
Upon entering the room, he was greeted by the sight of Blair lovingly holding the Kaiser's deck box. "That's strange." Yopher backed out for a moment, only to see Zane returning with three other third year Obelisks. "Zane…"
He ran into the room. "Okay, I don't know what you're up to." Blair was startled but Topher didn't have time for this. "We got to get you out of here; otherwise, you'll be booted from Duel Academy for trespassing."
"Where did you come from?" Blair asked. "Who even are you?"
"Topher Toroma, friend of Jaden's." The dragon user explained quickly, only to hear the four third years making there way here. "We got to get out of here!"
He grabbed the guy's arm and pulled him towards the balcony. This caused the hat to come off, Zane's cards to be scattered, and a hair clip came undone to reveal Blair had long hair. While it wasn't concrete, Topher knew guys with long hair, there was only one real reason to hide it.
"What!?" Topher exclaimed.
Blair grabbed her hat and put it on before booking it to the balcony. The dragon user could only turn, in the moment, and stare after her as she escaped via the tree.
"Hey you!"
Topher was snapped out of his confusion and turned to see those three third years had entered the room. This was not good at all as while Topher was an Obelisk himself, you couldn't just go around entering other people's rooms, especially not the Kaiser's.
"Looks like someone took a wrong turn."
"Hey Zane, look who we caught hanging out in your room."
They all noticed Zane's deck scattered about, which only made things look worse for the dragon user.
"Heh, not just hanging around. He was digging around in your deck."
"You got some nerve, freshman."
Topher sighed, not really seeing a way out of this, as the three third years advanced on him.
Zane spotted the hair clip. "Let him go."
That confused all four Obelisk, but the dragon user wasn't about to speak up. He got out of there before Zane could change his mind. As he left the room, the Kaiser picked up the hair clip. Upon deciding to leave the dorm for a few hours, Blair popped up from a bush to watch him critically.
Slifer Dorm: Below the Cliff, Night…
"Come to below the cliff, near the Slifer Dorm."
Where Jaden has had quite a few duels now, Topher met Blair just as her message requested.
"Listen Topher, the fact I'm a girl must stay secret." Blair stated. "That's why I'll duel you. If I win, you won't tell another soul I'm a girl!"
"I'm going to stop you right there." Topher dismissed. "We are not dueling over that."
"You have your duel disk with you." Blair pointed out. "Besides, the academy's rules say all issues between students should be solved by dueling."
"Maybe I'll be willing to agree if we start from the beginning." Topher voiced. "What exactly is going on?"
"The beginning." Blair nodded in acceptance. "My name is Blair Flannigan, and I'm twelve, nearly three quarters to thirteen. I came here to meet my soul mate again, Zane."
"How did that come about?" Topher asked.
"I met him at a tournament last year." Blair informed. "We each won our divisions, so we got to talk briefly. He was so cool."
"Why fake your gender as male?" Topher asked.
"I wanted it to be like one of those fairy tales." Blair stated. "We'd meet and become friends before I reveal I'm a girl from his past. Classic romance."
"What about your parents?" Topher asked. "They must be worried sick."
"They think I'm at some small tournament." Blair retorted. "I was going to ring them every night to let them know I was okay. It should be fine since love is a powerful force."
"Just how long was this plan of yours supposed to take?" Topher asked.
"It should only take a week." Blair stated.
"Feelings aren't something you can expect to happen." Topher voiced. "They come suddenly and randomly. Sometimes you have to fight for them, but if you end up pushing too hard, it ends badly."
He spoke from experience as a red head ran through his mind. Perhaps he could trace back his willingness to follow Chazz to just how badly he'd been rejected. When your heart hurt like that, you'd be willing to do something that stupid.
"If you're willing to fight, it should be worth it." Blair stated hopefully.
"Maybe." Topher voiced. "Truth is, love can be a wonderful thing; however, it can boarder on obsession. That's not so nice. It can consume everything around you until there's nothing left. So, are your feelings for Zane love or obsession?"
"I…I don't know." Blair admitted. "I never saw things going badly. My dad would always tell me, 'Love conquers all'."
"Ridiculous." Topher retorted. "To achieve your dreams, you need to be willing to fight. It's conviction. That is what makes the difference. Without it, you will never succeed, and that's why you need to go home."
"No!" Blair cried while rounding on him with fury. "I'm not done yet!"
"Yes, you are." Topher returned. "Someone like Zane won't just fall in love quickly. Your parents will work out something's wrong. Besides, do you really think you'll be able to keep up with your studies? We're three grades above you."
"I'm a tournament winner, so I'm way ahead of you guys." Immediately, an idea popped into her head. "I'll prove it through a duel. If you win, I'll go home. If I win, we go on like this never happened."
"I'll admit, that sounds a little better of a reason to duel than what you were proposing before." Topher nodded. "Alright, I'll agree to your terms."
Blair smiled, feeling she had already won, as she ran to get the proper distance between them. "You better not go back on your word when I win."
"I could say the same to you." Topher returned.
"Let's Duel!"
(Topher 4000/Blair 4000 & Deck 60 cards)
"I should really check this area out beyond the times I come here to duel." Jaden stated, looking down the cliff with a smile. "I had no idea others used it."
"Could be a great way to catch some duels." Dimitri agreed.
The pair ended up invertedly hearing distant voices as they stepped out of the showers and came to check it out just in time to hear them commence the duel.
"Though, why exactly is Topher dueling Blair?" Jaden wondered. "He doesn't strike me as the type to easily form guy friendships like that."
"That's not it, Jaden." Zane's voice had the Slifer pair turning to see said third year with Kai. "Blair's not a guy, she's really a girl. Obelisk security cams showed her in our dorm."
"What they didn't show is why she decided to go through all this trouble." Kai added.
Blair drew her starting hand (Deck 55) "I'm taking the first move!" She drew (Deck 54) "I'll summon Ehren, Lightsworn Monk(LV 4/1600/1000)." A female warrior in gold and white armor appeared. "Then, I'll set one card and bring it to the End Phase.
Before you make your move, one of Ehren's effects now forces me to mill the top 3 cards of my deck." (Deck 51). "One of those three was my Lightsworn Sabre which when sent from my deck to the grave allows me to equip it to a Lightsworn I control, and they gain 700 ATK."
Ehren, Lightsworn Monk(LV 4/2300/1000 effect)
"Whoa, her deck has her mill cards with the potential for some of them to kick off because of that." Dimitri stated. "Can't say I've seen a strategy like that."
"Luckily, the second mill turned out to be my Wulf, Lightsworn Beast(LV 4/2100/300) who can only be special summoned by a card effect and can happen to special summon itself upon being sent from the deck to the grave." A bipedal, white beast appeared. "Now, it's really your turn."
"My move." Topher declared. "As you control at minimum 2 monsters, I'm permitted to special summon Burning Dragon(LV 8/2500/2100)." A molten red dragon rose up. "Regardless of how this dragon is summoned, I can send any 1 spell from my hand." He ended up sending Return of the Dragon Lords. "Now, you lose all spell/trap cards you control."
"All of them!?" Blair exclaimed.
Not even a moment later, Burning Dragon breathed fire on Lightsworn Sabre and the face down Lightsworn Barrier, destroying them both.
Ehren, Lightsworn Monk(LV 4/1600/1000)
"As I said, you lose all of them." Topher returned. "With your Ehren more manageable now, I'll normal summon Armed Dragon, the Armored Dragon(LV 4/1900/1400)." A bipedal, brown dragon with red armor on appeared.
Armored Dragon will now destroy Ehren." The dragon rushed forward and slashed through Ehren (Topher 4000/Blair 3700). Whenever Armored Dragon destroys a monster, I'm allowed to special summon a level 5 or lower Wind attributed dragon from my hand or deck.
"I'll call on Knight Armed Dragon(LV 3/1400/1900) from the deck." A lanky dragon with red armor and a blade appeared. "Now, I'll have Burning Dragon destroy Wulf." Burning Dragon breathed fire on the beast (Topher 4000/Blair 3300). "Knight Armed Dragon, attack directly."
"Not so fast." Blair countered. "That last card I got to mill from Ehren was my Necro Gardna, and by banishing this monster from my grave, your attack is negated."
Knight Armed Dragon had prepared to strike, only to return to his neutral stance.
"Very well, I'll end my turn." Topher stated.
"Topher managed to counter two of her lucky mills, yet the last of those three is what got him." Jaden voiced.
"Still, Topher's got a good field." Dimitri noted.
"I wouldn't be too sure." Zane alluded.
"My draw!" Blair looked at what she got and smiled upon seeing it (Deck 50). "Sorry to say, I'm about to show you exactly why I belong here."
"Give me your worst, Blair." Topher returned.
"My worst, huh?' Blair smirked. "How about this? I'll start by activating the spell, Solar Recharge. Now, I discard 1 Lightsworn monster from my hand to draw two cards." She drew. "Then, I get to mill the next two cards from the top of my deck (Deck 46).
Alright, I can now follow it up with March of the Light Brigade. By milling the next three cards from the top of my deck, I can add any Level 4 or lower Lightsworn I wish from the grave to my hand."
(Deck 43)
"You did a lot of milling." Topher noted. "Did you get anything that can be used like Sabre, Wulf, or Necro Gardna?" Topher asked.
"Nah, sometimes with a deck like this you end up using a good chunk of your luck on one good mill; however, that doesn't mean there isn't purpose to it. Due to all that milling, I've assembled 4 Lightsworns with different names in my grave.
Through that, I can call upon a dragon who will cast judgement on my opponent. Special summon Judgement Dragon(LV 8/3000/2600)." A white, majestic dragon, bathed in light, appeared with a roar which demanded respect.
"As someone who uses dragons, that's an impressive one." Topher noted.
"Just wait for his effect." Blair voiced. "By paying 1000 life points, I can destroy all over cards on the field. Go, Divine Judgement!"
(Topher 4000/Blair 2300) A divine light rained down in beams, devastating Topher's three dragons and leaving him defenseless.
"That's not good." Jaden stated. "Unless Topher's packing something in his hand, he's about to take a lot of damage."
"Taking that damage is his aim." Kai drew the Slifer's attention. "Topher discarded Return of the Dragon Lords to activate Burning Dragon. With that spell card, he could have spared one of his dragons from destruction if that was his arm."
"Now, Judgement Dragon will level a direct attack your way with Divine Rending!" On Blair's orders, Judgement Dragon lunged forward and slashed through Topher with claws imbued with a holy light (Topher 1000/Blair 2300). "Sorry Topher." She removed her hat and the bandana she now used instead of her clip to let the hair flow free. "You just can't beat me."
"I wouldn't be so sure." Topher smiled. "I activate the effect of Mahaama the Fairy Dragon(LV 5/0/2500). If either of us takes battle damage during your turn, I'm permitted to special summon this monster from my hand, and I do as such in defense position."
A long, white and gold dragon appeared. Though just getting out on the field isn't all this monster does. She now either restores my life points by what I just lost or doles out the same damage to you. Given one solution wins me the duel, it should be obvious what I pick."
Mahaama the Fairy Dragon glowed brilliantly.
Blair looked on in awe, her eyes almost shining. "It's beautiful…"
Then, the light washed over her (Topher 1000/Blair 0). As the holograms faded, Blair sank to her knees, her long hair hiding her features, but from the slight movement of her head, Topher could tell she was beginning to cry. Slowly, he walked over to the girl.
"So, that's it?" Blair's voice was shaky. "After everything, it's over?"
"Yeah." Topher replied softly. "You need to go home."
Blair stayed silent for a moment before her head shot up to look at the dragon user with firm eyes. "There's still time! I can find Zane and tell him how I feel!"
Topher looked past her a bit surprised before smiling. "Well, you can do that if you want due to the guy being right there."
Blair turned to see Zane, who was with Kai, Jaden, and Dimitri.
"Zane, you're here." Her cheeks became rosy. "I guess by you being here, you know I was the one who snuck into your dorm room. The truth is, I've been in love with you ever since our duel at nationals. After that loss, I made a pledge to do anything I could to be with you."
"As flattered as I am by your affections, right now I'm only in love with one thing." Zane stated. "That's dueling."
"Dueling?" Blair questioned.
Zane returned her hair clip. "I'm sorry but it's time you return home."
Blair teared up. "I came all this way…"
"You did." Topher spoke up.
"I worked so hard…"
"You did."
"What does this mean for me?" Blair looked to Topher. "What should I do now?"
"Blair, you've got your whole life ahead of you." Topher shook his head, as this was as much a reminder for himself as it was Blair. "You had your first crush, but there will be others." He nodded. "Now, come on. Let's get to work on sending you home."
Harbor: Day…
Jaden, Dimitri, Topher. Kai, and Zane turned up to see Blair off, the girl now on a ship and reunited with her parents.
"This is goodbye for now, but I'll be back the right way, someday!" Blair called out, waving to the gathered students.
"Hear that, Zane?" Jaden asked.
"Please, I'll be long gone by the time she gets here." Zane retorted.
"Sounds to me like Blair's crush ends here then." Dimitri noted.
"I wouldn't be certain of that Dimitri." Kai smiled knowingly.
"I'll be back for you Topher, my sweet prince!" Blair called out, dismaying the dragon user. "I love you!"
"What?" Topher asked.
"Didn't know until now our stray dragon could sweep a lady off her feet." Kai noted, amused.
"Good luck." Zane stated before taking off.
First and foremost, with this chapter's conclusion, the next chapter will not be moving immediately into the duel to determined Central Acadmy's representatives. In fact, I might have two more chapters lined up before getting to that. Now, as much as I love the dub of Yugioh Gx, did they really have to make Blair 8 and 1/2? Why couldn't they have just stuck with the sub's age of 12?
Note: Raynos Baron is the oc of MerlockVonBaron. I think for season 1 content he's the last oc I'm letting in.
GxLoverff: Not sure what you mean by that.
Threebranch: Yeah, I hear you on that work thing.
3bodyjaa: Thank you.
Vital Info: I fixed it. When it came to this duel, it was meant to kind of emulate the first duel as there we didn't really get Seto's inner monologues. There were some, but it was few and far between for him. Essentially, it was a stylistic choice. Simping over Dark Magician Girl is just something that does happen. While I know I can change that...we are talking about a bunch of hormonal teenage boys here. That said, such things don't befit Zane, Jaden & Dimitri would be clueless to varying extremes, and Kai & Bastion kind of already have ladies.
