Symbiote Clash
After swinging desperately through the streets, both to reach Venom and save Jessica but also to get away from the rest of the Avengers who were trying to get in his way, Spider-Boy landed on the ground, looking up at the old Emily May Foundation building with a glare.
'This used to be a good place, a place to try and change the world, save the environment and find ways to clean the air people breatheā¦' He reflected. 'Now it's being used as a den for that monster, well he's about to be flushed out.'
With that he straightened up and made his way to the doors before opening them and stepping in, there was no surprise in him at the doors being open. Venom had been expecting him after all. Entering the darkened building he looked around.
"VENOM!"
He heard the dark chuckle but couldn't figure out exactly where it came from.
"Took you long enough, Spider." Venom growled. "We almost thought we'd have to start the fun without you."
"Enough of this!" Spider-Boy shot back. "You will let her go, right now and fight me straight up, you coward!"
Venom laughed again. "Oh, poor choice of words, Spider."
With that Spider-Boy had to briefly cover his eyes, groaning, as the lights suddenly switched on.
Straightening up Spider-Boy froze, eyes widening in horror as he saw Jess.
"Help, oh my g-JAKE, HELP!" She screamed.
She struggled without much success, tightly bound and looking at him desperately as she swung back and forth due to her struggles, hanging upside down by a rope secured to her bound ankles
"You, what's your game!" He screamed up at Venom.
The black Symbiote stood on the balcony above the pond that was found in the centre of the room. Above which Jess was secured and attached to some sort of machine on the balcony, next to Venom by her ropes.
"We would think that obvious, little spider." Venom drawled. "You got your challenge, come and face us, save the girl-"
"Which you lied about, you lured me to somewhere completely difference and forced me to fight your psycho pet, Carnage!" Spider-Boy snapped.
Venom just laughed. "Wrong, when we sent you that message, we were there. Then we came here for this special treat. Let's see what you can do with your new power, little Spider."
"Oh I can do plenty." Spider-Boy said darkly. "I'll tear you apart."
"Well, we'll see...see if you can do it quick enough." Venom drawled. "Quick enough to save the girl."
With that he hit a button on the control panel next to him and Jess screamed, for she was starting to be lowered down, towards the pond. Bound as she was, hanging upside down, her head would be submerged first, with the intent being obvious, to drown her.
She immediately freaked out, fearing for her life.
"NO, HELP, HELP!" She cried out.
Spider-Boy snarled and launched two web lines, one aimed at Venom which missed as he dodged, the other hit the railing he had been standing on and he used it to pull himself rapidly up to reach the control panel. Before he could hit the switch that would stop Jessica from being lowered towards the water, he saw Venom launching himself towards him.
"Shit." He got out.
Then Venom tackled him away from the control panel, through the glass divider behind them into the next room. Spider-Boy struggled desperately, but Venom had a tight grip on him and was even using his tentacles to increase his grip.
"Awww, what a shame, your girlfriend is going to die, Spider." Venom mocked.
Spider-Boy snarled. "You will not win, you...WILL...DIE!"
Venom laughed but quickly changed to a gasp as Spider-Boy suddenly broke free, unleashing his own tentacles suddenly, revealing the certainty that Spider-Boy had been wondering in the back of his mind. His new suit was in fact part of Venom, a variant of a Symbiote. But right now, he didn't care, he needed the power, it was the only way to stop Venom. With a feral growl he launched his attack, forcing Venom back and immediately began to fight back, launching brutal blows that turned the fight into a very brutal and harsh battle, all while Jessica was slowly and inexorably lowered to what would be her death.
Caught up in her dangerous situation, still struggling, Jessica felt embarrassed, she couldn't believe that she had been caught up like this, caught and helpless like some damsel in distress, it was a blow to her confidence.
'But I...I, I don't see any way out of this by myself.' She thought in dismay.
She could hear the crashing and banging and further sounds of battle up above and she could only pray that Jake, Spider-Boy, was winning.
'Urgh, but...what, no!' She thought, suddenly panicking.
After all, she had just felt her hair getting wet, she was much closer to the water, it wouldn't be much longer now, probably not even minutes, before her head was under the water and she'd be drowning. Sure enough she realized it was about to happen and, doing the only thing she could, she tried to move her head into a position that would allow her to buy some time, even though it ended with her hair in her face. But still she did her best to hold her breath just as she ended up with her head submerged. She felt herself almost at her limit, her chest burning as she was close to being unable to hold her breath any longer, when suddenly she was pulled out of the water and she immediately began coughing and gasping while looking around, seeing Venom leaving with a laugh as Jake got her free from the ropes.
"Jake, I-" She coughed out.
That was when she noticed the other Avengers, who seemed angry, with Blue Beetle revealing why.
"You almost left her!"
"Well I didn't, and now Venom has got away, so excuse me while I do what clearly only I can do right." Jake snapped.
With that he suddenly left, while Jessica watched in shock and horror at Jake's suddenly shift in personality, before she looked over at the other, worried looking, Avengers.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
