Now onto the story.

Desperation
Still in shock at the actions and words that had come from Jake, seeing the way he had been acting right before her, and that strange new suit he was wearing, it left Jessica on edge. She turned to the other Avengers who were present.
She narrowed her eyes. "What is going on, what's happened to Jake, he was never like this and...you all know him...are you...Have I met you all as well?"
"Yes, you have." Black Panther replied sadly. "We, we'll tell you the whole truth, but we must keep things quiet, you're being trusted with a big secret."
"Well…" Jessica began. "Okay, but, what about Jake, that's more important right now, surely?"
Iron-Girl nodded. "True, we have some...ideas about what's going on and we're going to try and fix things, but you're right. This isn't like Jake at all and we-"
"Hello there lovelies!" A voice cut in.
They all looked around wildly and, Jess noticed, moved to formed a protective ring around her, but she was the one to spot the source of the voice.
"Up there, another one!?" She cried.
They all looked up and alternately froze or glowered, for standing there was the female Symbiote they'd seen before, Scream.
Scream had a malevolent look of glee which instantly had them all on edge.
"What do you...what do you want?!" White Tiger demanded.
Scream laughed. "I want to give you a chance to make this fair...secrets are bad you know."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Wasp snapped.
"It means why only tell this girl the truth...why not tell your other loved ones, your families...you'll need to to save their lives." Scream revealed before breaking into a demented cackle. "Oh and, this one too, I reckon."
She then shocked them by revealed she had Speed Demon, currently tied up and struggling before being thrown down, luckily caught by Iron-Man, while the others all registered what she had said.
"Wait, what do you mean...our families...loved ones?" Wasp asked, suddenly worried.
Scream laughed some more. "Come to the Coney Amusement Park, and be prepared to reveal your true identities...if you want your little boyfriends and girlfriends and parents to live that is."
With that she laughed as they all froze in horror, even as Blue Bullet had just finished freeing Speed Demon.
"You-!"
But Scream already left, still cackling, meanwhile the Avengers had to take this in.
"This is...he's got our families and, and our…" Black Panther gasped in horror.
Batgirl grimaced. "Not good at all, we have to go there, but-"
They looked over at Jess. She admitted to herself she was scared, but she stiffened her resolve.
"I'm coming, I need to know all about this, but…"
"You won't be in the way." He said firmly. "C'mon, we're all going."
They nodded and, with Iron-Man helping Jess, they began hurrying to the amusement park.

Arriving they noticed that despite the park being shut and empty, the lights were all on, or rather, specific lights were all. Following them they all stopped and froze in horror. For there, at the end of the trail was the roller coaster, and there, strapped into cars at various loops, upside down, tied and gagged, were their various parents, along with Jakes, meanwhile, over on the big wheel, at the very top box, which was clearly compromised and could fall, they saw them. Also tied and gagged, Tanya, Michelle, Nathan, Jeff, Olivia.
"Shit...not good." Batgirl grimaced.
"We've got to save them." Speed Demon cried out.
Then Scream's voice was heard again. "Ah, but which ones first?"
They looked around and finally saw her, standing on a large post between both rides.
"What's that supposed to mean!?" Jess cried.
That caught Scream's attention. "Awww, you brought the normal girl, how precious...sure you want her to see so much death. No matter what happens here, someone will die."
"What?!" They all cried.
"That is...unless you all unmask." Scream said with a dark smirk. "Fail to do so and I'll give you a choice...rescue your parents, but watch as your little lovers all drop to their deaths. Or save them and I'll do the same to your parents. Try to do both and I drop both, so...what will it be?"
The Avengers all froze, realizing they were caught, worse, all eyes, including the shocked and worried captives gazes, were all on them, while Jess was worriedly watching them too, they were caught, backed into a corner.
"What are you-?" Jess began before gasping.
There were muffled sounds of shock from the captives too, as the Avengers unmasked and revealed their true identities.
The sight of their children, or the case of those trapped on the Big Wheel, their beloveds, being revealed as the Avengers, the heroes who had saved so many lives and put themselves at risk so many times was almost too much. None of them could even form a coherent thought they were all so shocked, none more so that Holly to see her daughter, so young, yet standing with the others. Mike and Will were horrified too, but that left them wondering, where was Jake, was he involved. They soon got their answer, for while Scream laughed in triumph at this, suddenly she was tackled and soon found herself being pummelled by the Symbiote infected Spider-Boy.
"Quickly, now's our chance!" Eddie cried.
With that they quickly sprung into action as Jessica watched in shock and horror as Spider-Boy attacked Scream, only to get struck and also get injured, just enough that the suit peeled away from his head, revealing his identity as Jake to his parents who had just been rescued.
"What, no…" Mike gasped.
Will groaned. "I...I was right, but what...what is all this?"
Jess sighed. "I don't know...But they promised to tell me."
"I think we all need to be told." Tanya agreed as Eddie set her down.
By this point all the hostages had been safe and were gathered together but then they saw that, despite his injury, Jake was already leaving, practically chasing after the fleeing Scream.
"JAKE!" His parents both shouted.
Eddie sighed. "We're not gonna be able to do anything, not right now. But um...we clearly need to talk."
It was clear they were all scared, but the Avengers knew what was going on and were therefore somewhat more composed. But now it was time to fulfil their promise as they turned to the others, who were all staring at them in amazement and shock, it was time for the truth.
