Authors Notes - Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new chapter. In this chapter, we will take a quick break from the slayer and the father but don't worry. In the next chapter, we will be able to join them once more.
Chapter 4 - The Green Wanderer
Level 1 - MEG base alpha
Field Researcher Heather May's day was going as it always was. The lack of proper sunlight caused her caramel skin to go slightly pale. Her usually long wavy brown, her ruffled in a big mess. The bags under her blue eyes drooped, indicating a lack of sleep.
One of her jobs for the MEG was to research any entity, level, or phenomenon that her fellow members found interesting.
Unfortunately, it was no easy task. In these endless halls, it seemed much so that very few things made sense.
Just when she and her fellow researchers thought they unraveled the mysterious secret of the backrooms, the carpet was yet again dragged out from under them, and this new info that they came upon was no different.
Two MEG soldiers who had been sent to rescue them were unsuccessful in bringing them back alive as they fell victim to a skin stealer. However, upon discovering the unfortunate victim, they also came across something...or someone who if added to their ranks, could pave the way to making the backrooms just a bit safer for those who wandered the endless halls.
Just a few hours ago she had been at the scene of a gruesome sight. The limbs and innards of various entities painted the floor and walls of the parking lot like a twisted canvas.
The two operatives who stumbled upon the 'Doom Slayer' reported that he very much literally ripped and tore the entities apart. Something that no normal human was capable of doing. It was thought at first that this 'Doom Slayer' was just another entity in the backrooms, despite the reported, robotic voice informing the agents of the latter.
This was disproven quickly, as something at the scene was found that rarely if ever occurs in the backrooms, gunpowder.
Most firearms in the backrooms used a substance called fire salt, an orange-crystalline substance that explodes when thrown.
While most wanderers were able to use the small crystals to defend themselves, bigger organizations were able to melt them into larger ingots and also use them in various weapons and applications. Needless to say, fire-salt was the backroom's replacement for gunpowder, as gunpowder was something that was never found in any of the backroom levels at all.
Yet the spent cartridges on the ground held various traces of gunpowder, something that was plentiful in the front rooms, but almost unheard of being present in the backrooms.
Even firearms, found in levels and on entities used firesalt bullets.
However, this enigmatic wanderer held it in a bountiful quantity.
As she studied the scene more, Mays began to ponder. If they were able to ally themselves with this figure. Then maybe they provide a safe future for the sake of the MEG and wanderers everywhere.
Authors Notes - Okay well. That was a short chapter. In the next one the doomslayer and the father will continue on their quest
