A couple things before the chapter update. My family dealt with a situation similar to the one with Mercedes. My twins were forced to deal with a Sage, and my younger twin was in the hospital for two days before coming home. My husband made an impact statement similar to the one in the story, and because I teach at the school, my girls were forced to hear almost everything from the other kids regarding what happened. On another note, as a mother of girls, I don't have it in me to write about a teen pregnancy. I can see having a baby and having tweens/teens; when I was pregnant with my fourth, we let our twins name their baby sister (3-year-old, my husband and I decided on our 5-year-olds name. Twins: Blakeley and Everleigh, then my husband and I had Brynley and Kennedy)

The next few months flew by and were going seemingly better than the first half of the school year. The girls had a few hiccups along the way like any teenagers did, Shelby and Will couldn't complain though. The girls had dealt well with the drama caused surrounding the court proceedings, understanding why Mercedes was heading to Jane Adams juvenile center where she will be kept until graduating the program which includes three therapy sessions a week and full school days, then would be transferring to another school; the Jones' family was also responsible for making restitution before Mercedes was eligible to transfer out of the program.

The girls were grounded for a week after the parents found out they had been involved in throwing slushies, something Santana tried to weasel out of because she did it for her sister and Rachel tried to weasel out of because she didn't throw any of them. It was a pointless argument though because it was a form of violence, something neither condones even if just a witness. With all the constant worrying and fear regarding Rachel's injury, they somehow missed Santana's form of keeping the 'idiots from talking'—Will and Shelby weren't really sure how all of it got by them, but they were sure a slushy hasn't been thrown since. The twins also continued getting good grades, hadn't missed anymore school, and Rachel had not shown any more signs of lingering effects since being in the hospital.

Today was a Saturday that surprisingly, the girls had free which meant only one thing: a sleepover. "Mom, dad, can you guys come upstairs please?"

Quinn, Brittany and Puck were over, and they had been on the third floor in the music room for hours doing gosh knows what. The parents loved it though because music and cheer kept them out of most of the trouble they could get into at their age. Will and Shelby made their way upstairs and took a seat on the couch as instructed, settling in for one of the 'shows' the girls and Puck put on for them. This happened more so when they were little, nowadays they would show the parents songs they picked for glee.

"I know you guys haven't decided on a name for our little sister yet and ultimately it's up to you instead of us…which is so lame by the way…but we hope you'll consider this name in the running," Santana said, now at the piano both girls could play, Puck holding one of the guitars.

Beth, I hear you callin' but I can't come home right now

Me and the boys are playin', and we just can't find the sound

Rachel started first, the other four joining for the next part as Will and Shelby moved closer together on the couch.

Just a few more hours and I'll be right home to you

I think I hear them callin', oh Beth what can I do? Beth, what can I do?

Santana continued, you say you feel so empty, that our house just ain't a home

and I'm always somewhere else, and you're always there alone.

They harmonized on the chorus again, their voices sounding incredible together. Shelby was already crying, 'baby hormones' to blame even though she knew that wasn't the case.

Just a few more hours and I'll be right home to you, I think I hear them callin'

Oh Beth, what can I do? Beth, what can I do?

Beth, I know you're lonely, and I hope you'll be alright

'Cause me and the boys will be playin' all night…all night.

Rachel nudged her sister who spoke up after they ended the song. "I know it's not exact, but if you guys do go with the name Beth, this song would be like, perfect for us to sing to her because we're not always going to be here."

Rachel continued where her sister left off, "We have school, all our friends, activities, and will be off in college as she gets older but will always be a phone call away so we can sing to her and be there for whatever she needs."

"Yeah, what they said," Brittany agreed causing Quinn to face palm herself seeing as it wasn't about any of them, just the twins and their parents. It did cause Will and Shelby to laugh though.

Shelby got up to hug them, whispering in the twins' ears how much she loved it. Then the five of them stayed up in the music room as the parents went back downstairs, truly considering the name Beth on their running list. It suddenly dawned on Shelby the twins played herself and Will because it was one thing to go back and forth calling out different names all the time, and another to sing about a name. Damn, they're good.

Nationals was now a weekend away. Not only for glee, but for cheer as well meaning it was another jam-packed weekend. They were hosting an early party at their house for the glee club, inviting some of their adult friends as well to help distract them from the fact there were 26 children by the pool and backyard, along with in and out of the pool house.

"I still can't believe you invited all these children," Emma said, eyes wide thinking about all the germs on the platters and bowls full of finger food.

"It's just a bigger version of our annual pool opening party," Will responded with a shrug.

"Much bigger," Shelby added. It's true, every year when they opened their pool they had a party, not with so many people though, especially not this many children.

"This is an impressive home, William," Sue said, admittedly impressed although, she'd never tell that to Will the one person she loved giving shit to. "I can assume you didn't decorate it, who made it look this good?"

"I did, Sue." Shelby wasn't thrilled the cheer coach was there, she had a hard time not inviting her when she asked Emma and Shannon to come with Sue in the faculty room too.

Santana and Quinn came bounding up the patio steps as inside the house was off limits to all, besides the ten who came over all the time and the two that lived there, completely out of breath between the running they did across the lawn and up the stairs. "Mom, mom, mom!"

"Santana, what do you say, babe?"

"Excuse me, mom?" Santana wasted no time continuing before Shelby could say anything in return causing Emma and Shannon to hide their laughter. "Where did you put all the popsicles? We can't find them like, anywhere in the pool house."

"Did you check the cooler chest?" Shelby asked, bringing up, in her mind, the obvious option.

"I told you we should check in there," Quinn said, whacking Santana lightly.

Santana faced her friend and rolled her eyes, "She never puts them in chest. How was I supposed to know?"

"I don't know, because it's an oversized freezer?"

The adults were watching them go back and forth, Shelby putting an end to the little squabble before the tiny brunette made her presence known too. She could see Rachel eyeing her sister, waiting expectantly for an answer.

"Hey babe, why don't you listen to Quinn instead of arguing with her. She's right, there was no way daddy could fit eight packs of ice pops in the refrigerator freezer."

"Come on Quinn, let's go. Rach, look in the chest!" Santana said, taking the blondes hand to run down the stairs as she screamed to her sister.

"You're welcome!"

"Thanks, mom!" Santana yelled, not looking back.

The parents turned back to face their friends and saw them all making a different face. Emma clearly thought it was cute how the twins seemed to tag team most everything they did, Shannon was trying not to laugh because the way teens acted sometimes is just too funny, and Sue was still so shocked Will was a father even though he has been for about twelve years and Shelby was pregnant again.

"Dad, can you set up the volleyball net in the pool please?" Rachel asked him once the sun went down a bit.

There was still a group of kids there, some playing cornhole on the grass, a few on the swing set the parents were happy they kept now that they have another baby on the way, some of the boys were still using the water guns to spray each other and the girls, hearing them shriek—there were some who had changed back into their clothes and were enjoying some pizza near the electric fire pit and the rest were in the heated pool or hot tub.

"Sure honey, but you aren't even in your bathing suit anymore."

"I know, I'm not asking for me," she said, 'duh' tone evident in her voice. "Some of the guys want to play but Tana and I don't want to get wet again and we can't figure out how to explain how to set it up. Please, dad."

"I'll be right down," he answered, receiving a kiss on the cheek from Rachel before she ran back down to be with her friends.

Judy, Susan, Pierce, Carol and Burt were now relaxing on the patio with Will, Shelby and Shannon enjoying a glass of wine and some beer, Sue and Emma had gone home for the night. Shannon didn't have a ton of friends and felt really lucky to be included when she started at the school two years ago.

"This backyard is no joke," Burt commented. "I feel like every time I'm here you two have something new for the kids to enjoy."

"We try," Shelby commented.

It's fair to say she tends to go a bit overboard with everything involving her girls, she enjoys it though. You only get one childhood before spending your life as an adult and the more positive memories and experiences you have, the more likely you are to make good choices going forward because you won't have an awful childhood to blame things on. Also, if you have an incredible childhood, you most likely have incredible parents, family, and adults who will do everything in their power to keep you on the right track and support you through your mistakes.

"Do you need some help, Will?" he asked.

Will considered the offer and accepted to make sure the kids wouldn't break the brand-new volleyball net. The last one they had snapped after an overly aggressive attempt at snapping it into place and this new one wasn't cheap—it not only played music, but it also lit up as well so the kids could play at night.

"Do you want to be on our team, dad?" Finn asked while the men were down there.

Burt and Carol had gotten married when she became pregnant with Finn, and a year later they welcomed Kurt. When he announced he was gay earlier this year, Burt took a bit longer to accept it, thankful for Will and Shelby who helped the boy prepare a song for his parents to help Burt realize how many people his little boy would always have in his corner through it all.

"Only if you can convince Mr. Shue and Mr. Pierce to join us too, buddy," he smiled.

The boys in the pool chanted their teacher and friends' dads' names over and over until they agreed, Will running into the house to change into his bathing suit. Finn, Puck, Blaine, Kurt and Burt against Sam, Rory, Mike, Mr. Schu and Mr. Pierce, two teams that had their own strengths and deficits, causing the girls to lay out some blankets to watch the game.

"Is this the cheering section?" Will asked after he came back down in his bathing suit.

"We wanna watch you lose, dad," the twins said in unison, their friends on Will's team giving them a hard time.

"We're rooting for you guys," Sugar said, Tina nodding along.

"Oh would you look at that, my daughter is rooting for the other team," Pierce said with a smile, heads turning to look at him with puzzled faces. They let it slide knowing Brittany's parents were a little off and Santana called start once everyone was set.

"I'm excited to see what you have planned for Nationals, Shelby," Judy said, taking another sip of her wine. "It must be something special because Quinny has come home from practice and crashed after dinner every night for the last two weeks."

"Finn and Kurt, too," Carol agreed.

"They've been working really hard," Shelby smiled.

"I don't know how I'm going to get my kids asleep so early this summer," Carol added. "The last time they were asleep by 8pm was when they were little boys."

"Quinn fell asleep at 7:15pm the other night and slept until her alarm went off the next morning, you have a gift," Judy said, looking at Shelby.

She laughed, happy to be of help, however, it wasn't ever her intention. Her girls had been asleep earlier than usual as well, not that early though because they were used to going all day long unlike Kurt and Finn—Quinn was used to spending hours at cheer and hours at glee, she knew the girl didn't go home and keep running around like her girls did whether spending time in the dance/cheer room or running up to the third floor to sing more.

Their conversation was interrupted by the sudden cheering coming from down by the pool, and it was clear by the twin's voices Will's team lost. "We told you, dad!"

"Best 2 out of 3," Will said, looking at the other team.

"You're on Schuester!" Burt challenged him, the boys agreeing and telling Mr. Shue he was going down again.

Shelby was glad her girls had so many guy friends growing up; she knew how much Will loved being a girl dad, it was honestly the best thing in the world to him, he also had a lot of fun playing with their guy friends too. The night they found out the baby was another girl, Shelby asked if he was upset it wasn't a boy and Will immediately said no, telling his wife he didn't care what they were having, he just wanted the baby to be healthy. She asked him again about a month later and Will said the same thing, adding all the reasons he loved being a girl dad. She knew it was beyond true, she also knew he enjoyed spending time with the boys he was playing in the pool with too.

A bit later the mothers asked for the third time if Shelby and Will were sure they didn't mind all ten kids sleeping over. Her answer hadn't changed, and Shelby once again answered, "We are excited they're all staying here tonight. We have three air mattresses set up in the pool house and the movie room couch pulls out."

The pool house wasn't just a half bath with storage, it contained a kitchenette, half bathroom, a guestroom and large living room area. The kids were still too young in the parents' minds for co-ed sleeping arrangement and they asked all the boy's mothers if they felt comfortable with them out there even though it's not connected to the house, something they agreed with; between the guestroom, a twin and two queens air matresses, Puck, Finn, Rory, Sam and Blaine would be fine to spread out. Technically Kurt and Blaine were allowed to sleep in the house with the girls because they were openly gay, but Will and Shelby wanted to make sure their mothers felt respected meaning they'd have to be separated too. Sugar and Tina would be in the guestroom, Kurt in the movie room, Quinn and Brittany in with the twins as usual.

Carol and Pam, Blaine's mother, appreciated how Shelby always took the boys into consideration when they've stayed over in the past. Typically, one would stay in the guestroom upstairs, the other in the movie room but that wasn't possible tonight. None of the parents envied Will and Shelby, most not having room for all the kids, others not wanting to host them all. They assumed it was because their teachers, however, knew if they were teachers the last thing they'd want to do was host kids all the time.

Will and Shelby did though. Judy and Susan felt like they were constantly picking their girls up from the Corcoran home, the other parents heading over there quite often to get their kids and for dinner parties too. Shelby loved that her girls had so many friends because it was only one more thing making their childhood so special. And she was right, one day when Santana and Rachel looked back, it would most likely be with their friends still in their lives and only happy memories.

Today was the National competition for the cheerios and the family was all there to support their granddaughters and nieces. April and Madison had flown in with Carlos and Maria, and Judy, Susan and Grace (Sugar's mom) were sitting with the large group of Shelby and Will's family. Shelby was feeling incredibly anxious, the same way she's felt each competition since Rachel was hospitalized. The pediatrician felt very confident it was a one-time trauma, but Shelby couldn't stop envisioning her baby lying unconscious in the hospital as the doctor called out test after test that he wanted to run.

"Hey, you okay?" Will asked his wife, seeing her lost in thought.

"Fine, I'm fine."

"She's going to be okay like every other time they've done the trick, honey."

She just smiled, not trusting herself to respond.

Shelby could breathe again after the initial toss where Rachel flew the same distance she did at the first two competitions. "Never gets easier to watch."

When the girls were holding up the first-place trophy, April looked at her best friend and said, "I'm sure that's easy to watch though, Shell."

"One title down, one to go."

The next day started out similarly to the one the day before; this time, the entire first and second middle row of the theater were filled with the people who mattered most in the kids' lives. Vocal Adrenaline was the last team to perform, and the family members were all on the edge of their seats waiting to see the routine Shelby put together that had their children in bed so early every night for the last three weeks.

As the stage lit up, Rachel and Santana were in the center looking down with fourteen of the other members split into four groups on the far ends of the them. The music started playing and the first set of four on the top of the set of steps sang the first line then turned around as the first group of three turned to face the audience singing the next line.

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy

Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality

Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see

This continued for the first six lines of the song then the twins started singing as the rest of the members walked out onto the stage, the twins making their way over to the grand piano on the stage where they played together.

Mama, just killed a man. Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead

Mama, life had just begun but now I've gone and throw it all away.

Mama, oo-oooh, didn't mean to make you cry

If I'm not back again this time tomorrow, carry on, carry on

As if nothing really matters…

The twins were now moving up and down the steps around all their friends who were tossing the girls in the club one by one, and the parents realized why their children were so exhausted, Shelby was having them toss, lift, spin, and jump over each other the entire routine.

I see a little silhouette of a man

Scaramouche, scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?

Thunderbolt of lightening, very, very fright'ning me

Galileo, Galileo

Shelby has always had a wall of sound representing the glee club at Carmel High, this year she had two more girls than guys which only meant one thing, she needed to find a way to pull attention away from the odd number of children with an over-the-top dance routine. The twins have sung this song starting at an age much younger than they really should have been and when they were singing it one day before Shelby called them for dinner, the idea formed.

She knew the competition at Nationals was going to be tough to beat even with her children performing and knew if the twins pirouetted around the stage as everyone else harmonized while doing elaborate stunts, the just might be able to pull off another win. Thank gosh I started them in dance at the age of two Shelby thought to herself as her girls got to the last few lines of the song.

Nothing really matters, anyone can see

Nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me

Before the twins sang the last line of the song, the stage cleared completely.

Any way the wind blow…

The audience erupted as Santana and Rachel walked off the stage and into their parents' loving arms, Will and Shelby opening them right before their girls exited the stage as the rest of the kids did a silent victory dance. This was their best performance to date, essentially dropping the mic in front of the judges, letting them know they were much better than the other teams in the competition.

"That team should really be in a league of its own," Shawn stated, the family members agreeing immediately.

"I'm not convinced a singer and dancer can really make it," Mr. Chang voiced, him and his wife sitting in the second row behind the uncle.

"Oh sugar, it's a real profession. Trust me," April chimed in.

"And you would know this how?" he questioned.

"Weren't you on Broadway with Shelby?" Pam asked, leaning forward from the second row to get closer to the blonde.

"Yeah and if I can do it, anyone can. I'm a loudmouth, four-foot ten squeaker," April responded with a giggle.

Mrs. Chang whacked her husband letting him know how disappointed she was in him. She had supported her son's dream of becoming a dancer and knew his voice would only help Mike, her husband didn't see it that way yet though. Hearing from another person who had 'made it in the biz' gave him something to think about, however, he wasn't sold on it.

The judges walking on the stage put an end to their discussion and a brief speech was made before the champions were announced.

"…and the winner is: Vocal Adrenaline!"

The crowd went nuts the second they heard the word vocal, the twins jumping into their fathers' arms leaving the football guys to catch him before they all went down, and Shelby accepted the trophy on the team's behalf.

Once almost everyone on the team made their way into the lobby to meet their family, Puck and Brittany came bounding towards the Corcoran bunch screaming, but not in excitement.

"Come quickly, Mrs. C…"

Brittany cut Puck off and said, "Mama C is gonna explode!"

They all looked back at Puck, and he explained what the quirky blonde was trying to say, "The baby's coming."

"She peed all over the dressing room!"

"You thought that was…?" Puck couldn't even finish the question. He knew he wasn't the brightest bulb, but Brittany was something else.

"Bring us to her, Noah?" Katherine told the boy as Rose took the time to try and explain to Brittany what was happening to her friends' mother.

"Holy shit I forgot how much this part hurt," Shelby screamed, squeezing Will's hand as the twins and Quinn tried to figure out what to do until another adult got there to help them because the only thing Shelby asked for was her mother. Katherine had been in the birthing suite when the twins were born with Juan and that was the plan as well this time with Will.

"What the hell are we supposed to do?" Santana asked her sister even though Rachel had no idea what they were doing either.

"How am I supposed to know? ... We need nana."

"Quinn, go find nana and tell her to GET A MOVE ON IT!" the twins screamed.
