The blaring sound of the alarms was starting to grate on his nerves, it was definitely not helping his exhaustion. Paul would've been more annoyed if he wasn't so focused on running away from the hordes of entities behind him. At least he won't ever have to get sent to this dangerous ass level ever again. The teen moved his body to the left of the hallway to avoid a stray hospital bed in the middle of it. Some entities weren't smart enough to follow suit.

'Almost…there!' Paul grit his teeth as he pushed his ever so aching body to run to the wooden door that wasn't so far. He could feel himself slowing down, but he had to grit his teeth and bare it. His lungs and legs were on fire, screaming at him in protest of being pushed past their limit. Paul could clearly see it now. A wooden door, only being illuminated by slow flashing red lights. He assumed he was only twenty feet away from it.

He was beaming with some happiness, but he didn't celebrate too soon as he felt a swipe at his hoodie and ripping part of it. The tired boy gave one final push as he shoulder checked the door and quickly closed it behind him.

A few seconds after that, he collapsed to the ground, breathing heavy, and tears welling up in his eyes. His body groaned in relief for finally having a way to rest after being pushed for six miles straight. Paul pulled himself up against a wall, the door next to him.

He steadied his breathing a bit, and looked up to examine what level he was possibly in now. He didn't think that level "Run for your life!" had any exit levels listed on the M.E.G. database. Just a door at the end, and a few doors in the hallways that only one person escaped through. So he had to see what level he was in and try to escape.

As soon as he processed his surroundings, he could only say one thing.

"Are you kidding me?"

Closing Author's Notes:

I've decided to write a Backrooms fanfic. I don't really see much of them on the internet, so I decided, "Why not write my own?" I'm not experienced with writing so I really do hope that I get lots of criticism and ways on how to improve my writing. And for those of you who know me for my SCP Fanfic, SCP: TRANSPORTED, updates are coming really soon. But for now, since the Backrooms fandom has a much more organized and refined cannon than the SCP fandom, I'll probably update this a bit more frequently than I do the SCP fic. And this might be a bit of a joke fanfic with some serious elements sprinkled in since the Backrooms is a horror genre. And I'll be using the wiki and fandom cannons or versions of the Backroos for this story, I'm not just gonna revolve the whole Backrooms around level 0. And a bit of a spoiler, this prologue isn't the start of the story, chapter one will be, the prologue is just my little introduction to my story, and it takes place on Level "!" or level "Run for your Life!" But I hope you all enjoyed this Prologue, please tell me what I need to improve on. Have a great rest of your day!
