How is everyone doing on this fine day??? Cause I'm really sleep-deprived.
AND I LITERALLY ALMOST DIED WHEN I FOUND A CRICKET IN MY SHOE THIS MORNING. AND I KNOW THIS IS SHORT FREAKING CHAPTER BUT LIKE STILL AND LIKE EARLY MORNING UPDATE IS SO FUN!
Jenna breathed in deeply and breathed out softly. She was in the middle of the traveling group, beside Raelynn. Who had the smallest collection of wildflowers in her hand, having seen them and taken them out of the ground. Jenna hiked up her backpack, her usual green and pink, and looked around, off put by the silence around them.
Finally, they stopped, and stood in a line, looking around, "Well, guys, this is the spot. Zordon calculated this longitude and latitude as the beginning for your quests." Billy explained.
"Talk about traveling on a budget," Aisha looked surprised.
"But how do we know where to look for our Zeo Crystals?" Tommy asked and Jenna looked curious as well.
"And since Zordon put the crystals through a time hole, we don't know what year we're being sent too," Adam added.
"Look for a connection to your heritage," Delphine guided. "The spirits of your ancestors will show you the way."
Jenna bit the inside of her cheek, "Well, yay. It'll be so fun. I definitely know exactly what to look for." Jenna mumbled dryly.
"Our heritage?" Rocky questioned, confused. "I don't understand."
"All things are revealed in proper time," Aurico assured.
"Time is the one thing we don't have," Tommy sighed, before he could speak again Jenna spoke up.
"-Actually, we also don't have our powers, the strength you guys acquired when you were older or any moderate idea of how we're going to get the crystals," She added, earning impatient looks. "What?"
"We better get going," Tommy sighed, looking determined.
Billy nodded, holding the communicator up to his mouth. "Zordon, they're ready."
"Rangers, you will need all your resourcefulness and strength for your journeys," Zordon explained. "From this point, each of you will be propelled toward a different destiny and will be entirely on your own. Embrace your inner strength and your sense of what is right, and you shall succeed."
Suddenly the ground in front of them turned into a dark blue, ominous cloud.
Jenna's eyes widened, looking panicked, turning to the others who looked equally nervous and surprised.
"Good luck, and may the power protect you," Zordon told them.
"I actually think I might just wait for a cab," Jenna muttered, but didn't look like she was going to back out.
"Act wisely, Rocky," Cestro advised, Rocky then jumped into the cloud, disappearing.
"Your strength lies within, Katherine," Aurico reminded her, as Katherine jumped in next, and then disappeared as well.
"May the power protect you, Tommy," Delphine assured him, as he jumped into the cloud, and then disappeared.
"Don't forget what makes a hero, Jenna," Cestro turned to her, and she let out a shaky breath, running forward and jumping into the black cloud, before disappearing.
"Look to your heritage, Aisha," Tideus guided.
"Here goes," Aisha muttered, and then she jumped into the cloud, and then disappeared.
"Let your spirit guide you, Adam," Corcus advised, as Adam jumped into the cloud, and then disappeared.
Raelynn watched as Billy then crouched down. "Good luck, guys." He said, hopefully.
"I'm sure they'll succeed," Raelynn said, optimistically.
Suddenly, Cestro fell to his knees, groaning in pain. The Aquitian Rangers, Billy and Raelynn all rushed to him.
"Cestro!" Billy cried, worriedly.
"I'm alright," Cestro replied, his voice weak.
"His hydration levels' dangerously low," Delphine discerned. "We must find a pure source of water for him soon."
Later, Billy, Raelynn and the Aquitians returned to the Command Center, while Cestro continued to get weaker from dehydration.
"Hey, try not to worry, Cestro," Billy tried to reassure him. "Zordon, we need to find a pure water source for Cestro."
"Due to the Earth's time reversal, our databanks cannot access that information," Zordon explained grimly.
"Oh, in this time period, who would know where to find a pure water source?" Alpha questioned, worried.
"Wait a minute," Billy said, as he began thinking. "Maybe it's not who, but what."
"What do you mean, Billy?" Alpha asked, puzzled.
"The Angel Grove Aquarium," Billy said, walking over to Cestro, and the other Aquitians gathered around him. "There's many species or marine life there."
Raelynn looked a little confused, not knowing what an aquarium is.
"Delphine, you think you can communicate with them?" Billy asked, hopefully.
"It is very likely," Delphine assured. "We are fluent in most aquatic languages."
"Come on. I'll take you there," Billy told them.
"Ooh, can I go too!" Raelynn asked, raising her hand. Billy smiled at her, kindly.
"Of course, but we should hurry," Billy said, and Raelynn clapped her hands together, excitedly.
Raelynn walked alongside the Aquitians, keeping an eye out if any more of them were going to collapse, as Billy led them towards the entrance of a white building.
"We're almost there, Cestro," Billy guaranteed, as they kept walking.
"Hey Billy?" Raelynn spoke up, her voice light, and he glanced towards her for a second before turning back again, showing he had heard her. "What's an aquarium anyway?"
"An aquarium is used to reference a glass aquatic terrarium. As well as a large building with many aquariums and aquatic animal exhibits," Billy explained.
They and the Aquitians then walked into a room filled with fish tanks.
"Fascinating," Delphine observed. "The diversity of marine life on your planet is very interesting."
Raekynn was looking around in childish awe, watching the fish with curiosity and interest.
"Cestro, see if you can communicate with them?" Billy recommended.
"Extraordinary intelligent creatures," Cestro complimented, once he stopped telepathically communicating.
"Were they able to tell you anything about a water source?" Raelynn asked, curiously.
"They tell me there is an extremely pure source of water that runs through the forest outside Angel Grove." Cestro explained.
"A stream," Corcus thought.
"Well the forest is on the outskirts of town by the quarry," Billy revealed.
"Excellent," Delphine said. "I suggest you go there at once and rehydrate, Cestro."
Cestro nodded in agreement.
"I can't believe this," Raelynn looked up as Bulk and Skull approached the Alien Rangers. "We're your biggest fans."
"Yeah, we almost got expelled because of you guys," Skull added.
"We are glad to help… strange child," Tideus said, blankly.
"Did you guys ever meet Captain Kirk?" Skull asked.
"What a stupid question." Bulk scoffed. "Hey, can we ever ride in your UFO?"
"Uh, guys, the aliens are a little busy right now," Billy tried to stop them.
"It's the old guy from the waterpark," Bulk told Skull. "And the little girl." Bulk added, pointing to Raelynn, who ignored them.
"Why should we listen to you, mister?" Skull asked.
"I must go," Cestro announced. "I shall return once I have rehydrated. It's morphin time!"
"Blue Aquitar Ranger power!"
He then disappeared, teleporting away.
Raelynn had wandered off slightly, looking at more fish and animals in excited curiosity.
She couldn't help the sparkle in her eyes as she watched them innocently.
"Raelynn!" She turned when she saw Billy looking relieved. "Why'd you wander off? Come on, Cestro was attacked, we have to get back to the Command Center."
"Ok," Raelynn nodded, a little sad as she followed him to a secluded area to teleport away.
Luckily, Cestro had returned unharmed and now fully rehydrated. Raelynn smiled as he patted her on the head.
"Alpha has de-energized the shield which was blocking your Battle Borgs," Zordon explained. "You will now be able to summon them the next time they are needed."
"Thank you, Zordon," Delphine said gratefully, as the other Aquitians bowed. "These foes have proven to be quite formidable."
Raelynn moved back in shock, as a blue cloud appeared above them. Rocky then fell through it, landing in front of them.
"Welcome home," Delphine greeted.
"Good job," Raelynn grinned, when she saw the crystal in his hands.
"Rocky, you're back!" Alpha said happily.
"Hey, everyone, I did it," Rocky said. "I got my Zeo Crystal."
"Congratulations, Rocky," Zordon said. "The first odyssey for the Zeo Crystals has been completed."
Rocky looked confused for a second, before he realized no one else was back.
"Good job, man," Billy congratulated him, touching his shoulder.
Rocky turned to Delphine then, "Delphine, now I know what you were talking about."
"A journey into your heritage will always bring a rich reward," Delphine nodded.
Rocky smiled, it faltered slightly as he looked up to Zordon. "I just hope the others are doing okay."
A/N:
Short chapter, really Raelynn centered, Ik. But good, she deserves more spotlight.
(I say that as the person who literally chooses how much she shows up in the story :l)
Jenna won't find her Zeo crystal yet, only because I didn't want to make her the first, but she definitely won't be near the last person to find it, not when she and Raelynn are gonna have a fun little subplot.
But I can't say too much or else it'll ruin the whole surprise!
Bye! :)
