"Why didn't you keep Haley on tour?" Renee asked Chris as he approached her. "The deal was to keep her on tour and away from Nathan. But now you bring her home, and every time I turn around, there's Haley around Nathan, and I'm getting a little tired of it."

Chris sighed heavily. "She wanted to come home for Jamie and Lydia. What was I supposed to do?"

Renee scoffs as she rolls her eyes and pulls out cash from her purse. She steps closer and places the cash in his shirt pocket. "Keep her away from Nathan. I don't want to have this conversation again." She says as she walks past him.

"They have kids together, keeping her away from Nathan isn't going to be that easy." Chris said as he watched Renee walking away from him.

"Just do it, Keller," Renee said one last time before getting into her car and driving off. Renee wants Haley to stay away from Nathan and stop trying to come between them. If paying Chris to do it is what it takes, then so be it. She refuses to let Haley ruin everything.

Chris snorted a laugh as he shook his head. He then took the cash out of his pocket and quickly counted it. After he counted the money, he placed it back in his pocket. He blew out a breath as he ran his hand down his face. He honestly has no idea how he's gonna keep Haley away from Nathan this time around. But he's gotta think of something quick.

Twenty minutes later, Chris crept back into bed and reached for Haley, pulling her closer as he wrapped his arm around her waist. He held her close, pressing his lips against her neck and inhaling her scent.

"Where did you go?" Haley asked as soon as she felt Chris's arm around her and his hard chest against her back.

"I went for a drive," Chris mumbles against her neck.

"For twenty minutes?" Haley asked in disbelief.

" I had to clear my head. Now go back to sleep." Chris said as he held Haley tighter in his arms, kissing her neck gently before closing his eyes and falling asleep.

Haley sighed deeply as she closed her eyes and tried to go back to sleep. But every time Haley closed her eyes, she kept picturing Nathan and the kiss they shared the last time he was here. No matter what she did to get her mind off the kiss, Haley ended up thinking about it again.

Walking into the cafe the next morning after dropping Jamie and Lydia off at Peyton's so they can hang out with Peyton and Jake's son, Jake Jr., and their daughter, Jenny, Haley noticed Karen standing behind the counter making more fresh coffee for the other patrons.

"Hey, Karen," Haley greeted her as she walked around the counter, grabbed her apron from under the counter, and tied it around her waist before starting her shift.

"Oh hey, Haley. Thank you so much for coming in and helping out. As you can see, we're very busy this morning." Karen said as she looked around her cafe and noticed there were more customers than usual, and it was only the weekend.

Haley looked over as she nodded her head. "Yeah, I sorta noticed the moment I walked in. What's going on? It's never been this busy before." Haley remembered when the cafe would get busy in the afternoon once school was out for the day, and she also remembered when it would be busy during the summer. But it was never this busy in the morning before.

"I am assuming that there's going to be a Raven's game tonight." Karen said as she poured fresh coffee for the patrons who were sitting around the counter.

Haley nodded her head. "That'll explain it." She asked, "Where's Lucas by the way? I thought he would be here to help too." She added as she didn't see Lucas anywhere in the Cafe.

"He was supposed to, but at the last minute he had to go to New York for a meeting with his editor Lindsey." Karen loves that her son is now a novelist. She was hoping he was here to help out. Since it's just her and Haley.

Haley nodded her head. "Gotcha." She said as she then noticed Mouth and Millie walking into the cafe and sitting down at one of the tables. She then walked over to them as she pulled out her pad and pencil to take their order.

"Hey, guys, what would that be?" She asked them as she approached their table.

"Hey, Hales," Mouth greeted her as he then looked over at Millie and then back at Haley. "Just get our usual. We gotta get back to the station soon."

Haley nodded her head as she quickly wrote down their order. "Coming right up, guys," she said as she looked over and noticed Nathan walking into the cafe. "Hey, if you're looking for a table, you might as well get one now while you still can."

"Actually, I was hoping we could talk."

"Now?" Haley asked, raising her eyebrows for a moment.

Nathan nods his head. "Yeah, do you think you can get away for ten minutes?" He said softly. Nathan knows coming to Haley with this is bad timing, but they can't avoid each other forever.

"Nate, as you can see, it's really busy in here. I can't get away, not even for ten minutes."

"Well, what about later?"

Haley exhales softly as she nods her head. "Come back later when I'm on my break."

Nathan grinned as he nodded his head. "I'll be back later then." He said as he looked at Haley for a moment before walking out of the Cafe.

Haley blew out a breath as she watched Nathan walking out of the Cafe. She was kinda hoping to avoid Nathan at all costs and she was hoping to avoid the conversation she knew that he wanted to talk about. But it looked like she was going to have to talk to him about it.
