At the intersection here, two city workers in fluorescent gear are trying to direct traffic away from the stadium as the flow was expected to be strong after the game but it has all finished too early and they had not finished checking the sewer system for any dangers, and two Road Workers are sliding a steel plate over a 6 ft. deep ditch cut in the asphalt.
The Road Workers, hearing the roar of the approaching Humvee, look up and dive away just as the Humvee blasts over the steel plate, dislodging it from its positioning. It teeters on the lip of the ditch.
A UNIT sedan hits the teetering steel plate, which collapses causing the sedan to be swallowed up halfway into the ditch, it's rear end sticking up in the air. Seconds pass, then the second sedan slams into the frontrunning sedan's undercarriage.
Both vehicles are obliterated.
Jack is turned in his seat to watch with wide eyes, laughing as he turns around and says "I would say you and the Doctor share a love of speed."
Ianto did not answer him, just loked at him like he was insane then grinned as he swung his head back to look ahead. Jack could not help it, he looked back.
The armoured vehicle in the most hair-raising slide ever, veers and misses the mangled sedans.
An old woman starts crossing the street. Ianto throws the wheel swerving to avoid her, and the Humvee slides as Jack whoops with glee, his hands firmly on the dashboard for stability as Ianto floors it and turns into the skid like a fucking pro.
Drifting now… like a god.
The Humvee blasts down the hill. The street is thick with vehicular traffic. So, Ianto swerves, leaving the street. onto the sidewalk. Where... SNAP SNAP SNAP it knocks down every parking meter, then the armoured vehicle tries to follow and finds itself lower than the Humvee, the meters catching under the chassis.
Finally… they are free of the tails and moving towards the next car parking garage with a need to dump this beast that sticks out like a cat in a room full of wool balls. Ianto trolls slowly until he sees one he really likes and Ianto groans as he knows Jack will hate it but it is the most common one in the city.
The Soccer Mum style people carrier rolls out into traffic as Jack looks in the glovebox to find it full of candy bars and chewing gum. Yeah… Jack does not mind so much as he settles back to chew on a candy bar.
He doesn't care where they are going now.
He has worked it out.
Ianto knows.

It is late... darkness closing in around them as the tires crunch across the uneven ground. Grass? They are off road?
Jack has fallen asleep and jolts awake to look around "Wilding wood?"
"Where my other Safe House it" Ianto replies "My real one."
"Your real one?"
"Well, I waited for you for quite some time, I did enjoy some aspects of it but still… hang on" Ianto stops talking as his phone goes off and he answers with a polit voice "Lisa?"
"Where are you?" her voice is shrill "I can't find your phone."
"Ah yes. The tracker on my phone. Sorry dear… I disabled it. And the one in my wallet… that one was pretty cool actually. So… nope. Your days of minding me are over. You should be relieved. I know you didn't love me and that this entire babysitting thing was soooo beneath you." Ianto seems amused as she starts screaming. "Lisa… Lisa… Lisa… I told you long ago… I will never lead you to him… never. I kept saying he was right in front of you already… not my fault if you can't play the game."
He simply hangs up the phone… looks at it and then tosses it out the window, the sound of it hitting water in the nearby ditch Jack could not even see in this light making him giggle softly.
Jak is wide awake now, looking at the trees as they come to a halt "Come on. What was I saying? Oh… right. I have waited for you, and I knew you would be around sooner or later. So… come on Captain Sexy Pants… let's get going."
"Going where?" Jack asks.
Ianto swings to face him "Well… where the real running is of course silly."
They walk through the looming guard of trees, the clearing revealing a certain blue box that makes Jack freeze, looking around with confusion.
"Come on" Ianto quips "Don't keep me waiting."
The doors swing open and Ianto pauses in the doorway, turning once more "Jack? Jackity Jacky Jack? Come on. This is the safest house in the known universe."
"And my room is still there?" Jak asks softly "Doctor?"
"Aw, come on now. Call me Ianto. It IS my real name ya know" came laughter as the three piece suit disappears inside and Jack finds himself starting to laugh as well, following the love of his life into the next adventure. "Hurry up, Martha is waiting for a ride!"
What a way to invite him on a trip.
