This was inspired by several Naruto/GX stories in particular Shinobi of Duel Academy by windstorm16.

AN1: Yes I realize its almost been three years but people need to realize I have other stories too. Plus this story is suppose to be really chill and something fun to write not super lore heavy or story deep. I am trying to get something done for my older stories so people don't accuse of my just writing Six Paths Jinchuriki or my Naruto neglect story. I just need to devote time and actually have a plan for what to actually write. I will admit nothing really happens in this chapter I just wanted to release it to show this story isn't dead dead. I am trying to get back to some of my older stories.
OKAY BIG NEWS FOR SIX PATHS JINCHURIKI! After a lot of thinking it over. I decided to end 'part 1' after the next chapter. I will flash forward to the 7 year time skip. The end of the next chapter will have the setup to the end of Tenrou Island and then flash forward 7 years. Part of the reason I am going this path is because I simply cannot write out the drafts for Tenrou Island arc and the story is a stand still. By using the flashback I can move onto the more interesting arcs and then use flashbacks/memories to show what happened in small parts instead of struggling to write everything out.
Chapter 5 Naruto is kinda a Kaiba too
Naruto quickly found life at Duel Academy as more or less routine. Compared to the 'training' in Duel Monsters he had from his 'beloved' Godfather Seto Kaiba, Duel Academy was easy in comparison.
'I still can't believe Seto set up the girl's dorm like this.' Naruto thought in annoyance.
It had turned out Seto had set up the Academy in such a way that ANY girls who had passed the test was automatically sorted into Obelisk Blue girl dorms. Apparently, the system was such a way that there was no Slifer or Ra Girl dorms so all girls were automatically placed into the separate Obelisk Blue Girl dorms. Unlike the male dorms skill was not a factor in placemen.
'Was he being lazy or did he simply think not that many females would even want to come to Duel Academy so to save money he just crams them all in to Obelisk Blue regardless of actual skill?' Naruto mused as an imagine of Seto smirking appeared in his mind.
'Although I guess considering how much a snob some of the Obelisk Blue guys money is certainly a factor and not just skill either.' Naruto thought sourly as Chazz and his cronies had in a way set the bar for what he thought most Obelisk Blue males were like.
Later he discovered much to his annoyance he had gotten two fan girls who happened to be friends with Alexis Rhodes.
"Oh my God! It's the Naruto Muto! My name is Mindy! Can I have an autograph?" Mindy introduced herself with a massive blush as one day Alexis had dragged her two female friends over to meet Naruto and his friends.
Syrus had blushed at the two attractive girls who outright ignored Syrus and Jaden. Jaden to his credit did not seem put off and seemed more focused on his deck rather than the new arrivals anyways. Alexis gave Naruto a look of apology as Naruto had to restrain his annoyance at the fangirl like tendencies of Alexis's friends.
Mindy was rather cute girl who was Alexis's age but not quite as busty or mature looking with the same Obelisk Blue outfit with white shirt and blue mini skirt and knee boots. Mindy had dark hair that was in a sort bob in the front and styled into two spikes in the back on each side. She had bright hazel coloured eyes.
"Hello. It is a pleasure to meet you, Mindy." Naruto said simply with a slight bow making Mindy and her redheaded friend squeal at how polite he was.
Naruto had been more or less forced to have 'lessons in etiquette' by his Godfather Seto who refused to have his Godson become a 'good for nothing monkey like that joke Wheeler'. These lessons allowed Naruto to smile and act polite even towards people he would rather not talk to.
'Although Godfather could use those lessons on Uncle Joey. I swear if it wasn't for Dad, Uncle Joey would have slugged Seto in the face by now. Of course, he would be slugged right back and with Kaiba Corps lawyers Uncle Joey would be in jail for attacking the president to KaibaCorp.' Naruto thought drily.
Naruto would be the first to openly admit his Godfather was rather condescending and rude to people who he didn't respect. The list of people Seto Kaiba did seem to respect would probably be only Mokuba, Yugi, Atem and himself but Seto was at least courteous enough to nod towards Tea briefly. Joey was also an exception as Seto couldn't seem to help but mock him at every corner which was notably different then his calm if not somewhat cold reception, he gave everyone else.
'Probably because she is mom and he wants to have a somewhat working relationship between us.' Naruto as he watched Mindy and her red-haired friend blushing and fanning their faces as Naruto face was deep in focus.
'I swear if Seto could at least give a smile rather than a smirk he could actually do public events rather than let Mokuba handle them all.' Naruto thought with a sigh. Mokuba was rather a more enjoyable person to be around then Seto but being around Seto did get results even if he did in the most blunt if not rude way possible.
"Anyways I am not sure why you want my autograph but here is something for having the courage and manners to ask." Naruto stated as he brought out a rather fancy light blue handkerchief out of his pocket and pulled out a pen out of nowhere.
Naruto quickly scribbled something on the handkerchief and spoke out what he wrote.
"To my new friend Mindy. May your duels and future soar as high as the sky itself. You new pal Naruto Muto." Naruto read out as he placed the handkerchief into the blue haired girl hand softly.
Mindy squealed as she saw a small heart next to his signature, he added to the handkerchief which made it seemed that much personal in her eyes. Mindy swooned and nearly passed out when Naruto placed a small kiss on her left hand as she used her right hand to hold onto her new signature like it her new life line.
Naruto had bent down to a knee and gently held her soft left wrist with his hands before placing a small kiss on her hand like a perfect gentleman.
Naruto turned around as he stood up to see the vast majority of the students there give him looks of shock and envy especially as he saw Mindy fan her hand with the left hand he had kissed.
Naruto could imagine his parents and their friends giving them their two cents so to speak and opinions about his actions.
Yugi would be smiling nervously as he tried to avoid his furious wife glare at them both.
"Naruto! I did not raise you to be a player! How dare you string along that poor girl like that! I raised you better!" Tea would snap.
"Now Tea, Naruto is simply being a gentleman. It is not his fault if people take that kind gesture the wrong way." Yugi would try to explain only to wince when Tea would pull on his ear and get into his face.
"What?! My Dear husband… It is bad enough I still have to hover over you when we go to public events or your fangirls would be trying to flirt with you despite the fact we have been married for years! I will not let that happen to our baby boy! He will stay pure and not have girls drool over him!" Tea shouted in declaration eventually releasing Yugi's ear.
"How exactly is that my fault that our son has fangirls? Its not like I encouraged them or anything." Yugi would whisper low enough so his wife couldn't hear.
Joey and Mai would be beaming with pride and Mai would even be smothering his face into her chest rather lovingly while Joey would be patting Naruto's back even as Naruto struggled to get out of her breasts.
"Atta boy Naruto! I knew you would inherit my charm! You the man! Hear that world! The nephew of Joey Wheeler is a player like his uncle!" Joey declared as he wiped a fake tear of pride out of his eye as he patted him on the shoulder once more.
Mai would give him another minutes in her large and widely desired breasts before she pull her out of her breasts and give his blushing cheeks with a wet kiss. This only caused him to blush even more as his face turned bright red and her red lipstick was stuck on his cheek as a mark.
"My little Naruto. Just remember to use protection, okay? You mother might kill your girlfriend or girlfriends if they get pregnant before she gives her approval for marriage. Also have fun!" Mai would seductively say with her eyes battering and a wink. She would blow a kiss and her hips would sway even as she and Joey walked around away with her leaning into his arm lovingly.
Meanwhile Mokuba would give an uneasy smile and wave.
"Hehe. I guess you are good at more then business practices huh? He has inherited your better traits brother." Mokuba noted as Seto looked annoyed for a brief moment before schooling his expression to be his calm self as if he did it instinctively.
"I will ignore that Mokuba. You didn't say anything." Seto stated coldly but Mokuba didn't seem offended. He even gave a grin behind Seto's back and a wave.
Seto turned back to Naruto as he tapped his foot and crossed his arms impatiently. He looked at Naruto with a hint of pride, impatience, annoyance, exasperation and curiosity. Naruto only could see all these emotions due to knowing Seto so well as most people would only assume Seto was annoyed.
"Naruto! What are you doing playing around? If you are going to use your charm then make sure it sticks. Having lots of people you can use in the future is how you gain connections to succeed. If you are going to be a gentleman you should go for the gold and not just be polite." Seto told him sternly while Mokuba sighed behind him.
Naruto would then give a glare at Seto which was returned as Godfather and Godson had a stare down that would have made any other person run to the hills.
"Godfather! That is not who I am! I would rather gain true friends who will stick by my side rather than control people to make them do what I want! I am not your stepfather who stepped on people and terrioized anyone who spoke out against him!" Naruto snapped as he knew very well the complicated history of Kaiba Corp.
Mokuba took a deep breath in surprise as he looked at Seto who eyes narrowed. Mokuba looked ready to intervene as Seto looked briefly ready to slug Naruto in the face for that comment.
"…. It seems I have taught you too well my Godson. Nobody else besides me heir would speak to me that way and I couldn't be prouder of your spine. It seems you have grown into a man worthy of my attention after all." Seto noted with pride and a smile after a moment that made both Mokuba and Naruto hold their breath.
"Do what you wish. Just know I will always be watching out for you." Seto noted as he Mokuba turned around to walk out.
"I will make you proud!" Naruto declared with a salute as Seto briefly turned back and nodded with a smile.
Naruto blinked away his imaginary dream of what would have happened if his parents and their close friends had seen what he did with Mindy's hand.
"Oh wow! Naruto Muto is so cute! He is such a hunk!" A red head Obelisk Blue girl squealed as she clasped her hands together and jumped up and down a few times.
Despite himself he couldn't help but notice how her arms did an interesting effect to her breasts. They appeared to be rather big despite being squished by her arms and even jiggled abit due to her bouncing. Her short skirt and hips also seemed to bounce but luckily Naruto was capable of schooling his face to not appear to be a pervert in front of the redheaded girl or the school in general.
"Who is your friend Mindy? I like to know the names of pretty girls so I don't have to keep calling them 'beautiful'. Its not very much a gentleman to call that to every beautiful woman." Naruto asked with a charming smile that he seemed to have inherited from his father who despite marrying his mom still considered one of the most handsome men in Japan.
Secretly due to being apprenticed under THE Seto Kaiba as well made his manners rather impeccable as well. It was not like Seto would allow his Godson to disgrace his name by lacking manners.
'Not that Seto has very good manners himself. I guess having all the power money can buy does do that to a guy. He did earn the right to be rather blunt despite making me learn all the manners he doesn't seem to want to use.' Naruto mused thinking of his childhood. Despite this somewhat harsh training he considered Seto one of his important people along with his parents and his parent's tight little group of friends. He also found Mokuba a more light hearted uncle compared to Seto but not quite as jokey or silly as Joey.
"Wow what a smooth talker. My name is Jasmine and you can ask me out whenever you want." Jasmine purred with her eyes fluttering at Naruto. She even leaned forward and bent over allowing Naruto a nice look at her assets before winking at him a cute and seductive look.
Naruto laughed nervously as he could see Syrus crying in the corner while Jaden snickered.
Jasmine was also another pretty girl that was Alexis's age but also not quite as mature or busty as the 'Ice Queen'. Jasmine had dark red hair in a unique spikey hairstyle that jutted downwards and also Hazel coloured eyes. Her eyes were also bright but had a much more interested look when she looked at Naruto while her focus seemed to pass Jaden and Syrus as being insignificant or unimportant.
"That is pretty forward." Naruto remarked as Jasmine whistled as she looked him over.
"Ara Ara. You don't like forward girls? You want me to hide how I feel?" Jasmine cutely making Naruto laugh.
"A pretty girl like you never has to hide anything from someone like me…" Naruto started before he heard a cough from behind Mindy and Jasmine.
"Hmm mmm. I think Naruto has somewhere he needs to go right?" Alexis coughed in annoyance as she crossed her arms and gave her friends the stink eye. Her face was set in a frown despite still looking rather calm.
"Alexis! You can't hog him to yourself!" Mindy cried out as Alexis frowned.
"Yeah Alexis. Every guy here likes you. You can leave the one guy we want and go after the others." Jasmine added with a teasing smile.
Alexis's eye twitched as she resented that she was more well known for her stunning good looks with the vast majority of the males at Duel Academy having a crush on her. She was more interested in becoming a great Duelist rather than having a boyfriend unlike her friends.
Syrus was curled up in depression while Jaden patted him on the shoulder.
"Its not fair that pretty boys like Naruto gets all the girls without trying!" Syrus complained looking at Naruto with envy.
'For some reason I don't think Naruto really likes having all the girl's attention.' Jaden thought as he saw his friend subtly try to inch away from the girls.
'They do realize I can hear them, right? Honestly, I feel bad for Alexis. She has most of the guys here wanting to get into her skirt and bragging they 'got to bang Duel Academy Finest Woman and take her first time'.' Naruto thought resisting rolling his eyes while maintaining a smile.
Chad and his two cronies Taiyou and Raizou were scowling at the scene where Naruto was getting friendly with Jasmine and Mindy.
"Who does that Slifer Slacker think he is? He cares if his dad is Yugi Muto!" Taiyou hissed with notable jealously.
"Yeah! As if he is worthy of Jasmine let alone Alexis affections!" Raizou claimed.
Chazz was brooding when Alexis put a hand on Naruto's shoulder briefly.
"I don't care about any of that." Chazz claimed much to his friend's surprise.
"What annoys me is that he somehow tricked MY Alexis into talking to him! My dear Alexis is taking pity on him because she is too sweet! She is not talking to him because they have anything in common!" Chazz declared in his delusional mind. He did not even seem to understand he was treating Alexis more as a prize then a person who would mutually return his romantic feelings.
"That's right! If there was only some way to get that stupid Muto kid expelled!" Taiyou complained before Chazz hushed him.
"Shut up. You heard Crowler. He is afraid if we intentionally try to get him expelled that Seto Kaiba would stop funding for the school altogether." Chazz whispered as they looked around to see if anyone heard them.
No matter how cocky Chazz was even he recognized that Duel Academy was Seto Kaiba property and only his funding kept it going. That was how powerful Seto Kaiba and Kaiba Corp was to the Academy.
Little did anyone know Crowler was not going to take his own advice.
After Naruto politely but firmly told Jasmine and Mindy he wasn't interested in any sort of dating at the moment the group went together for the required Physical Education class which all First Year Students had to take regardless of Dorm placement.
While some kids like Syrus were panting and looking nearly dead after running laps, Jaden was considerably better shape only mildly out of breath. However, Nobody compared to Naruto Muto who not only lapped the runners but did not even seem out of breath. It seemed more like a brisk jog to him rather than intense running. He even ran backwards for a lap much to the irritation of the males and the joy of the girls.
"Naruto is so cool!" Jasmine squealed as the girls were in the corner of the gym doing their own stretching.
The girls were wearing large white shirts and tiny black shorts with small knee socks and white running shoes. Normally most guys would start drooling at the sight of these pretty girl in rather skimpy clothing but luckily the guys and girls ran laps after each other. So while the girls were doing their stretching all the guys were required to do their laps and thus too busy to look at the girls.
"He sure is fit." Alexis agreed silently looking over his well muscular body even as he outran the entire class.
"I wish he was my boyfriend! He could carry me in his arms or I could try to grind cheese on those abs! He is so hot!" Mindy squealed along with Jasmine.
Alexis silently huffed at her friends' reactions but could not deny that Naruto was extremely good looking and athletic.
Both Mindy and Jasmine looked away shyly when Naruto almost seemed to see them checking him out. They put their hands behind their back and swayed nervously but Naruto seemed to be more amused then anything else as he waved towards Alexis who waved back.
Midori Hibiki looked rather amused as despite being the one of the heads of Slifer Red she was also the Gym teacher for the first-year female students. She wore similar clothing to her female students but her shirt seemed to be smaller due to her taller frame and larger bust. Her white shirt almost started to hike up exposing her stomach but luckily, she was not currently running.
"Come on. You can drool over Mr. Muto after you finish your stretching." Hibiki chastised but with notable amusement and no real heat in her words.
The girls blushed when the teacher even not from own dorm caught them staring and went back to stretching. Although they did still giggle and stare just abit more subtler then before.
"Pant pant pant. What are…. Doing…. To… run… so… fast?!" Syrus complained as Naruto lapped him again with an easy-going grin.
"Oh you know. Vitamins and exercise. Or maybe its my parents' genes?" Naruto joked getting a laugh from Jaden who was ahead of them but Naruto was still ahead of him due to lapping him.
Several more minutes of the 'light jogging' (Naruto), 'fun exercise' (Jaden) or 'pure torture' laps Hibiki finally blew her whistle as the boys stopped to stare at her.
"Ok that is enough for today!" Hibiki yelled as most of the boys sighed in relief with Naruto sighing as he stretched a kink in his shoulders.
'The people in this world really are like civilians back there. Even Genin would be running laps around the most athletic people here. Heck I am trying to hold back as much as possible to avoid getting questioned on my 'super human' abilities'. Kinda a pain to be honest.' Naruto thought to himself with a sweatdrop when he saw Syrus drop to his knees and start to pant like a dog.
"Never again please! I became a Duelist to avoid running!" Syrus whined as Jaden patted on his back in sympathy while Naruto looked on the brink of giving him pity and rolling his eyes.
"Syrus, right?" Alexis asked as she stepped towards the trio in her gym shorts and white t-shirt looking down at Syrus with concern.
Syrus looked up and blushed when he realized who was asking as he instantly got up on his feet and his panting disappeared as he tried to act he wasn't about to die from some normal laps.
"Yes! I mean yes Alexis. I am Syrus. How do you do?" Syrus squeaked before he coughed to his voice to return normal.
"Wow you seemed to gotten better instantly with a little talk with Alexis." Jaden joked as Naruto chuckled while Syrus glared at them both before turning back to Alexis who only raised an eyebrow.
"Why would talking to me make Syrus feel better just like that?" Alexis asked seemingly abit clueless on Syrus and most of the boy's crush on her.
From the bleachers Mindy and Jasmine sighed with Jasmine even smacking her forehead with the palm of her hand. They exchanged exasperated looks as they gestured to the pretty blonde with their arms as if they still couldn't believe how she couldn't see it.
"I love you Alexis but seriously you need to be able to read the room better. I mean you are basically like a model here and you still don't realize when people fall in love with you at first look." Jasmine stated with an annoyed look while Mindy looked sympathetic.
"Maybe that's part of her charm? The whole innocent thing attracts guys even more then your brash and loud mouth?" Mindy suggested while Jasmine eye twitched as she glared at Mindy who just smiled innocently.
"Loud mouth huh? Mark my words! My mouth and every other part of me will get a date from Naruto Muto before you will have chance!" Jasmine declared as Mindy frowned. They glared at each other as sparks seemed to connect their eyes and a new rivalry was formed.
Syrus blushed and waved his hands before looking shyly down.
"You are just really nice and pretty so talking to you is like a good luck charm hehe…" Syrus claimed nervously while Alexis just blinked looking confused at his confession while Syrus seemed to have developed a blush just from talking to her.
"Um thank you? I suppose that's a compliment although its pretty random as we barely know each other and everything." Alexis replied back drily before a small smile appeared on her face.
"If you are sick or need something you can ask me or one of the teachers. We are all in this together after all." Alexis stated kindly and sweetly as several boys grew hearts in their eyes while a nearby Hibiki Midori just chuckled cheerfully at Alexis kind if not somewhat naïve personality.
'I don't think there is anything this girl can do that won't make the boys swoon over her. She could be completely cold to them to them and they would still offer to polish her boots or carry her luggage around. The joys or I suppose the pain of being a pretty girl in a school that has hormonal teens.' Miss Hibiki commented in her head with a smirk.
Naruto then swooped in with Alexis eyes grower brighter showing she was more interested in Naruto then her unofficial fan club. Naruto shared a smile with Alexis showing that were rather at ease with each other despite how little time they knew each other.
"Don't worry Alexis. You don't have to try so hard. We know that not all Obelisk Blue students are like Chazz and his cronies." Naruto stated brightly as Alexis visibly sighed in relief but then frowned when Chazz and a few of his friends crowded them while Jaden looked ready to step in.
'Wow Chazz is really annoying. Why does he think following me around will get me to pay him attention. If anything, he just gets under my skin and his personality gives the impression all of Obelisk Blue are snobs.' Alexis thought sourly as she resisted the urge to glare at Chazz.
Syrus had wisely decided to back away while Bastion was looking at this with interest.
"Alexis! Hi! You are looking stunning as always!" Chazz stated loudly as he waved eagerly at Alexis.
"Hi Chazz… You are looking the same as always. I don't think I have changed that much in the last day or so." Alexis replied flatly with much less enthusiasm than the eager boy.
"Playing hard to get huh? You will one day accept how great the Chazz and learn how great we will be at being the ultimate couple!" Chazz exclaimed while Alexis barely paid in attention.
"If you have time to make corny lines like that then you have time to improve you deck and keep your grades up." Alexis reminded flatly as she also rather dismissively waved him off and looked at Naruto instead with a warmer expression.
Chazz seemed to not hang the beautiful young woman as he turned around with a look of annoyance at Naruto and his friends.
"Are you bothering Alexis? She has better things to do then hang around with you losers." Chazz stated with a scowl only to miss Alexis giving him a scowl behind his back.
"If Alexis has a problem with us then she can speak for herself. She is a person not an object Chazz. You might want to remember what the difference is. She isn't some prize to be won or to lord over. She is her own person." Naruto reminded him calmly but with an edge.
He did not like that his mother or his Aunty Mai were constantly being looked at and drooled over like a piece of meat despite them being happily married with their spouses. He did notice that Alexis looking down with the slightest amount of blush on her cheeks as she shifted slightly on her feet as if embarrassed and pleased with his comment.
Chazz growled as he gritted his teeth looking rather angry and even looked ready to slug Naruto in the face but seemed to realize Alexis was still there and they were in pubic. So instead he got his superior smirk and pointed to himself as if he was THE man of the school.
"Hey Slifer Slacker. I don't care how your dad is or who your Godparent is got it? To me you are a has been who deserves to get the first boot out of here!" Chazz declared as his friends laughed.
"That's telling him Chazz! Who cares if he is the son of Yugi Muto?" One of his friends stated loudly.
Alexis eyes narrowed in disappointment while Naruto only smirked.
"Aw. You still bitter that this 'Slifer Slacker' beat you in an official duel Chazz?" Naruto mocked as Chazz growled when Jaden and even Alexis chuckled at his humiliation.
"Shut up! That duel was rigged! I wasn't getting any of my good cards! Our Duel Disks must malfunctioned and set it so you got perfect cards while my good cards were on the bottom!" Chazz claimed as his cronies nodded while most of the other students looked at Chazz's delusion with confusion.
Bastion walked up to Jaden with a flat expression.
"How illogical. From what we saw of the Duel Chazz had new perfect hands while Naruto at least required some luck on his side. These Duel Disks are set with the most advanced security measures by Kaiba Corp and Naruto is using a standard one. It does not look like despite being the Godson of Seto Kaiba and son of Yugi Muto he has a different Duel Disk then the ones given to us." Bastion whispered as Jaden sent an uneasy grin with closed eyes as he rubbed his head.
"Seems like Chazz is just salty and cannot handle a loss ever. I bet he is the kind of card to blame the Duel Disk if he forgot to activate a trap effect after the timing is missed. Like forgetting to activate Mirror Force when his life points were about to be wiped out." Jaden joked as Bastion scoffed but with an amused smirk.
Naruto nodded as if distracted before he pulled out his cell phone to the surprise of everyone there.
"Okay hold that pose right there." Naruto stated as he pointed his camera to an irate Chazz.
"What are you doing Slacker?!" Chazz demanded as he crossed his arms.
"You have a complaint about the Duel Disks so I am forwarding the video to Godfather. I am sure he would love to hear how his Standard Issue Duel Disk that has built in securities that makes the most advanced computer systems look like Gameboy Colour systems has been hacked and cheats. He is always happy to listen to customer complaints in person especially when I forward the messages to his private cell phone as customer service has always been Kaiba Corp number one goal!" Naruto replied cheerfully as he quickly typed something on his phone.
Chazz sputtered along with his goons as his jaw dropped while everyone looked at Naruto with wide eyes.
"He can't do that right? I mean it is THE Seto Kaiba after all and doesn't he have like a dozen people hired for Customer Service calls so we would he even take the call in the first place?" Syrus asked in astonishment.
Alexis crossed her arms as she looked contemplative as she seemingly ignored the boys watching her slight movements with joy only to back off when her friends Jasmine and Mindy glared at them.
"For his Godson and possible heir, I think he could make the time to take the call. I mean its not everyday one of the richest men in the world choses someone to raise and give him considerable power in his company." Alexis mused with a giggle and impressed look. AN2:
Syrus looked ready to pass out from her response while unseen to him Zane walked past him and joined Alexis.
"You got to stop talking to Syrus or he will never get over this crush over you. Although I suppose if girls ignore him completely then he will never get over his shyness either. What an annoying little brother." Zane scolded Syrus who didn't appear to hear him due to still reeling from Alexis even replying to his question.
Alexis waved him off with a smile as she playfully punched him on the shoulder getting a small smile from the Elder Truesdale.
"Oh, come on Zane. You need to loosen up towards your brother. He is kind if nothing else. He will get confidence at his own pace and you being this strict older brother will not help him out." Alexis remarked as Zane scoffed crossing his arms.
"I am sure if you were more nurturing then I feel Syrus would gain confidence in his own skills more effectively than this tough guy persona." Alexis suggested as Zane raised an eyebrow.
Zane looked down at Syrus who waved at him nervously as he pushed up his glasses which seemed to keep falling down his nose.
"Hey Zane! How's it going?" Syrus asked nervously as he could barely look at his cooler older brother in the eyes.
"Syrus…. I hope you have been keeping up with your studies. You better advance past Slifer Red before your graduate. It should only be your starting goal not your end goal." Zane told him sternly as Syrus jumped up and saluted.
"Yes brother! I mean I will try…" Syrus assured him half heartedly before he seemed to hear something only, he could hear.
"What's that Jaden? You wanted something? Sorry brother maybe next time!" Syrus claimed as he ran quickly to Jaden and Bastion with the former grinning at him and the latter giving him a look of acknowledgement.
Zane sighed at how fearful Syrus was of him as he put a hand over his face and looked exhausted.
"That kid…" Zane noted with both sadness and hint of pride in his voice as Alexis looked at Zane with concern.
"See? If you treated him more kindly, he wouldn't be so afraid of you." Alexis pointed put as Zane frowned turning to her.
"Like your brother?" Zane snapped but he winced when he saw Alexis look down sadly.
"That was uncalled for. I am sorry. We will find him one day." Zane apologized as Alexis looked up and nodded.
"We will. He is missing not gone." Alexis stated with determination.
Alexis then smiled when she looked down at Naruto who had called Seto Kaiba and put him on speaker.
'Maybe he can help me out? He would have the connections to possibly go to the abandoned Dorm.' Alexis thought as she continued to stare down at Naruto.
Zane seemed to notice Alexis intense stare as he smirked slightly.
'I guess Duel Academy Number 1 most beautiful Girl has finally found someone she is interested in.' Zane noted. Zane was well aware of Alexis's reputation in Duel Academy and despite knowing that it was a justified title had no interest in a romantic interest with his best friend.
"What are you doing Slacker?!" Chazz yelled as he attempted to grab Naruto phone but with a surprisingly level of dexterity Naruto leapt over Chazz and flipped in the air and landed on his feet.
While Chazz tripped on his feet from the missed swipe and landed on his face causing Jaden and Syrus to laugh openly at the Obelisk Blue. Bastion had a small smile of amusement, Alexis giggled into her hand and even Zane scoffed at Chazz. Meanwhile Mindy and Jasmine were star eyed at Naruto's coolness finding him even higher on their 'Number one boyfriend' list.
"Hello? Naruto is there something the manner?" Seto's voice could be heard from Naruto's cellphone on speaking voice.
"Is that really Seto Kaiba?"
"Idiot! He is one of the most famous Duelist alive! People could not hope to imitate his voice!"
"His Voice is so calm and sexy!"
Various voices were heard with Naruto focusing the last comment was from Mindy and Jasmine much to his amusement.
'They really are fangirls in heart and soul. Although they are not the only ones. Despite how rude and blunt he is in person. Seto is still one of the top Bachelors in the world and his good looks didn't seem to be diminished with age if anything he seemed to stay his prime forever.
'I remember when Uncle Joey called Seto a statue that never changes, Seto glared at him and told him that 'monkeys shouldn't speak to their superiors.' And afterwards he managed to somehow trip him and throw him to the ground.' Naruto thought with amusement.
Despite it seemed Seto's voice was in his normal uncaring way, Naruto alone could hear the slight tones of concern bleeding through for his Godson making Naruto smile abit wider.
"Godfather. There is nothing the matter with me. Is it a bad time for you?" Naruto asked when he heard several voices in the background.
There was a moment of chatter before complete silence which Naruto assumed was Seto raising his hand to show he wanted the room quiet and to show his dominance in the room.
"No there is nothing that needs to be discussed right now. If anything, I can simply reschedule for tomorrow." Seto stated flatly as Naruto smirked as he could almost see some of the board members grumbling underneath their breath.
'Not that any of them have the courage to speak out against THE president of Kaiba Corp. No matter how important they think they are they are simply ants compared to how important Seto is to the company and world' Naruto thought smugly.
"Anyways Godfather. Chazz Princeton has a complaint about the Duel Academy Duel Disk security system or rather the operating system." Naruto commented rather matter of factly as he turned to Chazz whose confidence seemed to leave his body almost like steam rising out of his head.
"Oh? Chazz Princeton… That names sounds familiar… Give me a minute." Seto voice commanded sternly as he had a hint of impatience and curiosity in his tone.
Chazz dashed forward so he was right next to a calm and amused Naruto who raised an eyebrow.
"Hang up the phone slacker. Stop taking things I said out of context." Chazz whispered in a furious whisper making sure to be quiet enough his words were not picked up by Seto on the other side of Naruto's phone.
Naruto just pretended to not here him as he looked up and put a hand over his ear as if saying 'Sorry can you speak up?' much to Jaden and most of the student's amusement.
Matter of fact besides Chazz own cronies nobody seemed in any mood to interrupt or defend Chazz in any way. Even Chazz Obelisk Blue cronies seemed to scared of Seto Kaiba to outright speak up in Chazz defence while Kaiba was on the phone.
Miss Midori Hibiki even outright giggled into her hand while in the corner Lyman Banner was smirking despite his attempts to look neutral.
'Serves that Obelisk Elite right. I know I am supposed to be neutral if not nurturing to every student at Duel Academy but privately there are snobs here who need to be taken down a few notches. Good job Naruto-kun.' Midori and Banner thought unknown to each other at the same time.
It seemed both heads of Slifer Red were tired at how little respect their dormitory students received compared to Obelisk Blue students. They both secretly were incredibly pleased that someone like Naruto Muto whose skill alone should have been made Ya Yellow if not Obelisk Blue dormitories still chose Slifer Red to earn his future promotions.
About 30 seconds left Seto voice resumed talking through speaker phone.
"Ah Chazz Princeton. The youngest son of the Princeton Family. Earned his spot in Obelisk Blue and is currently a First Year Student like Naruto." Seto stated with not a hint of being impressed and sounding like he was reading boring summary notes.
"That is the student who has made claims about MY Duel Academy Duel Disks? I would love to hear what he has to say about the state of art and highest quality Duel Disks in the entire world." Seto stated coldly but everyone could hear how furious he sounded.
Naruto could hear Seto gritting his teeth on the other side of the phone and clenching his fist while the Board Members were trying to avoid any sort of stare from Seto in one of his 'bad moods'.
'Say what you want about his personality. His pride in his company is second to none. If there one thing he loves besides Uncle Mokuba its his company and the imagine of what his company does for the world.' Naruto mused showing his considered Mokuba essentially another uncle.
Naruto kept an innocent smile as he looked at the white-faced Chazz who looked ready to beg.
"Oh, he seemed think that my Duel Disk in particular was 'cheating' in some matter as we recently had a duel and he seemed to believe that my draws were too lucky. He also seemed to think that his Duel Disk was malfunctioning in some way and giving him 'bad draws'." Naruto stated putting great emphasis on cheating and bad draws as if he was using air quotes over the phone.
Very odd statements especially as my Duel Disk is standard Duel Academy Disk despite what people think. I do not have some special designed one or anything so by stating I was getting lucky draws it also insinuates that the Duel Disks somehow can be hacked or modified to benefit some people and inhibit others." Naruto added cheerfully as Chazz fell on his butt with his mouth wide.
"Oh is that so? That is quite the claim." Seto remarked coldly with everyone besides Naruto shuddering at his tone.
'Okay so its just his voice and he isn't even on the island but I feel like bowing my head regardless!' Sryus thought with fear.
Syrus looked besides him only to see Jaden grinning from ear to ear much to his exasperation.
"Seto Kaiba is so cool isn't he Syrus? I mean he can just command people from an entire different place!" Jaden whispered excitedly as Syrus eyes grew wide.
"Why are you so excited? He sounds annoyed!" Syrus whispered back frantically looking around to make sure nobody was listening.
"Isn't that awesome though? People say he is the second greatest Duelist in the world besides Mr. Yugi himself! I wonder how I would fare in a duel with him?" Jaden whispered with his eyes seemingly shining like stars.
Jaden then looked at the amused Naruto and rubbed his head.
"I guess I can ask Naruto later. Mr. Kaiba is his Godfather and his dad is Yugi although it might be weird for him to talk about that way. He probably sees them as family and not some legends like we do." Jaden admitted bashfully seemingly realizing it would be an awkward conversation.
Syrus just sighed in relief with his head dropping down.
Alexis was only focused on Naruto while Zane looked down with a serious but impressed smile.
"So that is Seto Kaiba. I can see how he maintains Kaiba Corp as its president. Colour me impressed. He is someone to look up to." Zane noted as Alexis nodded but she wasn't paying much attention.
"Uh huh but he doesn't seem very friendly. I wonder how Naruto could stand living with him." Alexis thought out loud as she couldn't keep her worry out of her voice getting a smirk from Zane.
"You sound rather concerned Alexis. You might want to watch that or rumours" of you being interested in the Muto and Kaiba heir might spread. I am sure you realize how rumours can start with all them about you after all." Zane warned her but with a teasing tone as Alexis eye twitched.
"Maybe you should get a girlfriend yourself and that way you wouldn't have to fight off fangirls? Plus those rumours about us can stop. Sigh. They are so unfounded. We are friends but for some reason people like to assume we are a couple." Alexis retorted as both Alexis and Zane gave a collective shudder.
"Mr. Princeton. Is there something you would like to discuss with me? Please be honest. I usually do not bother with addressing rumours about my company technology or reputation in person but this seems to be a special case. If my Godson himself feels this is worth bringing it to my attention then you will have full attention." Seto voice rang out in a cold tone but with so much force everyone around started to sweat before Naruto who just kept the phone in his hand with a smile.
Naruto mouthed out 'That is your cue to talk Chazz. Believe me it will be worst if you don't say anything. I would know after all.' To Chazz who was wide eyed before he closed his jaw.
"Mr. Kaiba sir… It's an honour to speak to you even if through a phone… My parents and brothers tell me such great story of the Kaiba Corp president." Chazz sputtered trying to get into Seto's good graces by flattery.
Naruto resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he could imagine Seto on the other side of the line eye twitching as he rested his chin on his hands which were clasped together and resting his elbows on the Board meeting table.
'Yeah, if there is one person in the world that flattery will not work on is Godfather. He had to earn everything he has now and turn a weapon company into a gaming company from the ground up. He does not care what people say about him but rather how the world sees his accomplishments.' Naruto mused as he was told about his Godfather rather modest childhood and how he earned everything he and Mokuba had now.
"Let me put this bluntly. I do not have the time nor the patience for small talk like flattery. If you only have sweet words that do not mean anything I have nothing to say to someone like that.' Seto explained calmly before a hint of impatience bleed through his tone.
"Now let's cut to the chase shall we Mr. Princeton?" Seto asked but his tone was anything but asking.
Chazz nodded before he realized Seto seemingly would not see his nod.
"Yes sir! Thank you sir!" Chazz stammered showing like thousands if not millions of other people they would not say anything against Seto Kaiba himself.
"Excellent. Now is there any truth to what my Godson is saying about you making accusations that MY Duel Disk technology has a flaw? Something along the lines of your Duel Disk having unfair draws and Naruto having draws favoured to you? That is quite the claim as it would indicate that the software and hardware I personally vetted can be modified in some way to give unfair odds to certain people at will." Seto asked with a hint of sarcasm in the beginning but it grew colder and colder as her spoke showing how furious he was.
"Uh well… I mean.. I…." Chazz stammered as he was seemingly at the loss of words as he looked desperately at everyone in the room who seemed to be avoiding his eyes despite his pleas and wide eyes.
"Well? Mr. Princeton. Speak up! Like I said I am not one to beat around the bush. Is there any truth to what my Godson was saying?" Seto asked again with growing impatience clear in his voice.
Chazz seemed to be like a mouse unable to unwilling to continue talking to Seto even through Speaker phone.
All the sudden one of Chazz cronies decided to speak up as Chazz seemed to regain his confidence now that someone else was talking but his face fell when he heard what he had to say.
"Mr. Kaiba sir! I was here! Chazz did make accusations about how in a duel he and Naruto had recently he was getting subpar draws and mysteriously Naruto seemed to draw the perfect cards to beat him!" His lacky stated confidently as he smirked ignoring the glare that promised death from Chazz.
'I will kill him! How dare he make a fool out of me in front of THE Seto Kaiba!' Chazz thought furiously.
"Yeah, I can confirm! I was here too sir! Chazz made those claims in front of everyone here!" Chazz other Obelisk Blue crony added smugly as he seemed to a lot less afraid and submissive to Chazz now that he could embarrass Chazz in front of one of the most powerful men in Japan.
'Okay those two are going down! They are now ahead of the Slifer Slackers I will get rid of during my time in this school!' Chazz declared mentally as he imagined them getting crushed under his feet in revenge later on.
"I see…. Roland! Come here now!" Seto shouted seemingly on the other side to get his loyal aide to his side.
"Yes sir! What can I do for you?" Roland calm voice asked showing both respect and reverence to Seto Kaiba.
'Ah Roland. Nice guy. I know if he only asked Seto would set him up for life on a private island if he wanted for all his long years of service.' Naruto thought cheerfully and fondness as he had met the man many times during his training/grooming for Naruto possible chance of being heir to Kaiba Corp. AN3:
'Ironically the loyalty that Roland has for Seto is so absolute he would have to be forced to take a vacation let along retired before he would take any time off. This is not going to go well is it.' Naruto mused.
"Prepare to activate Protocol 66. I will give you the signal when to activate it. Make all the preparations now!" Seto commanded as Naruto eyes widened and his jaw dropped.
'Is he for real? That protocol is something extreme even for him of all people!' Naruto thought in worry.
"Sir are you sure? Mr. Muto will also be…." Roland asked quietly with a hint of concern which was still picked up by the phone.
"…. Make the preparation… Even if he doesn't like it, he will get over it eventually." Seto decided after a moment of hesitation.
"Yes Sir. Preparing Protocol 66 now!" Roland stated as he could be heard walking away.
"Dammit! This was not supposed to happen!" Naruto shouted in frustration much to everyone confusion.
"Bro? What's wrong? What is Protocol 66?" Jaden asked when he saw how worried his friend was.
"…. Deactivation of all Duel Academy Duel Disks and shutting down Duel Academy till further notice." Naruto replied in a defeated robotic tone.
"Eh?" Everyone else in the room had the same expression of shock.
"How can he do that?"
"This is a joke right?"
"I already made my plans to graduate here!"
"I assure you young students. This is no joke. I will not let the reputation of my company be tarnished due to rumours of tampering with the Duel Disk system. I would rather shut down the entire island down and spend the time making sure my program is truly the best of the best. Rather then allow possibly faulty equipment to be continued to be used." Seto stated matter of factly.
Banner and Miss Hibiki quickly ran up to Naruto and the phone and looked at each other with a nod.
"Mr. Kaiba sir! I am Professor Banner and this is Professor Hibiki. We are teachers here and we have to state our opinion that shutting down the entire Academy is an extreme measure and not warrantied sir." Banner stated in a polite but worried tone.
"Yes sir! I believe our reputation can speak for itself on how the investment you put into the island has been paid back many times over with the results!" Hibiki added hopefully.
"….. Noted although not very relevant. It is my decision on what I consider a good investment or not. Matter of fact I was considering reevaluating the standards for Obelisk Blue anyways. I have heard some less then savory rumours about certain individuals. It just so happens that shutting down the island itself will also factor in how I decide to start the system up again." Seto uncaring tone rang out as he seemed to be calm but firm in his answer.
"Duel Academy is over?"
"Is this really the end?"
Naruto saw the despair on the students and teachers as he bit his lip. He sighed and took a deep breath as he closed his eyes for a moment before a look of resolve appeared.
"Godfather. This is all a misunderstanding. Let me clear things up for you." Naruto stated firmly as he raised a hand to prevent anyone else from talking.
'I am your eyes and ears after. Even if you won't directly tell me that is my role.' Naruto noted silently.
"Roland. Wait. I will listen to what Naruto has to say first before I give my decision." Seto stated as everyone was wide eyed and held their breath as they watched Naruto with hope.
"Sigh… Chazz did make a claim that there were unfair advantages between our Duel Disks. However, that if anything was just him complaining without any proof. He is kinda self-centered and believes the world should bow to him and that luck should favour him and if it doesn't life is against him." Naruto stated as he gave a death glare at Chazz when he looked ready to protest.
It did not help everyone including his 'beloved' Alexis was giving him a similar glare making him keep his mouth shut.
"…. Is that so? So Mr. Princeton was just whining like a brat and not making an accusation directly against my company?" Seto asked seriously.
Naruto looked down as his eyes seem to flicker from emotions to emotions rapidly.
"I swear on the Egyptian Gods themselves and on Pharoh Atem name that this is not something that needs to be researched further. Please Godfather." Naruto swore in a whisper that nobody else could hear.
"….. I know you of all people understand what that oath means." Seto noted as he seemed to take a minute to decide.
"Very well... I will let this comment slide. It must be a joke of some sort. Wheeler must have rubbed off on you despite my efforts. Sigh… We will need to have a talk when the year is over." Seto suggested as everyone looked at Naruto with various levels of pity.
"Roland we will let this incident go. Protocol 66 will not be needed today." Seto declared as the room let off a collective sigh of relief.
However, Naruto could hear the slight mocking tone along with teasing that only he could hear.
'I have a feeling Seto was putting an act up or putting me through a test? Or maybe he just wanted me to bow my head again to show how indebted I am to him. I can never really know with that man.' Naruto thought in depression as he turned off the call and bowed his head with a sigh.
"Just remember next time he will actually shut down this school down. He would rather lose one form on investment then have his reputation smeared. Trust me on this. Keep that in mind next time you complain about your luck." Naruto warned Chazz who gulped and nodded.
Chazz tried to regain his reputation as he flipped Naruto off but this was ruined as he ran off with his lackeys trialing him as if nothing happened.
AN2: Yes I realize Yugioh and Yugioh GX is mostly set in Japan and Duel Academy is somewhere near Japan. But I still consider Kaiba Corp one of the most innovative and rich companies in the world at least in my story. And I said possible heir. He is not explicitly next in line to rule Kaiba Corp after Seto as Mokuba is alive but I said possible heir. It is more he is third in line as Mokuba and Seto do not have children or other selected heirs they have personally chosen to inherit Kaiba Corp. Naruto is Seto current legitimate heir and Godson so it is safe to say people assume he might be next in line if Seto and Mokuba choose to retire.
AN3: Yes I know Roland doesn't appear in GX anime (let alone the manga where Seto doesn't make an appearance) but in my opinion its mostly due to how little Seto himself appears in the show (as its no longer his era and he seemed willing to let the next generation be the stars). I see no reason why in my story GX Kaiba wouldn't have Roland still on payroll and as Naruto indicates behind closed doors Roland would have been compensated greatly for his years of service if he only asked. Seto is more personal when it comes to Naruto instead of Business Mode self he portrays to the world.
