King didn't know what the hell he was thinking when he agreed to let Maroon take Purple to work with him.

He really didn't know, and part of him regretted the decision.

Because Maroon was supposed to be off of work and on his way back to their neighborhood with Purple in tow, and he wasn't.

What the hell was taking him so long?

"Come on, Mar..." He whispered to himself, pacing around the living room. "God forbid I lose you both."

That was his son. And his best friend.

He wasn't losing either of them.

A scream from outside. King ran to the window, trying to pinpoint the location.

It wasn't Mar, or Purple, thank the heavens, but it was one of his neighbors, screaming and running away from God knows what.

Wait...

Was that a UFO?

Purple could very clearly remember what happened last time.

The memories went through his head as he and Maroon ran like hell away from the chaos.

When Purple started walking home it was nearing sunset, not too long after he had left but still a while.

It sky was turning a beautiful scarlet color as the sun dipped behind the mountain horizon, and people were beginning to wind down and head home.

However, as Purple neared the edge of the city, people didn't start calmly walking home.

People start running for their lives.

"What the-" Purple doesn't have the chance to finish his sentence before a fire hydrant explodes beside him, drenching him in water.

"-and that's my cue to get outta here." Without a moments hesitation, he takes off, hoping to beat the mayhem home.

King is only worried when people start running from the direction of the city into his neighborhood.

He hasn't texted Purple, but he probably should.

Actually, screw that. He's gonna go find Purple and make sure he's alright.

Whatever is happening is big and bad, and he's not letting his kid be stuck in danger.

He's not losing another kid. Not today.

Purple sees everything suddenly go up in flames as a black stick figure blast through the city, laser eyes not even being bothered to be covered up.

He continues running for his life, as it all that depends on him is escaping the city.

People push past him, running away from the disaster that is just seemingly after them.

A street light crashes from next to him, and Purple is barely able to react before it crashes directly in front of him.

He sighs. Thank god that didn't crush him.

He grabs his phone, suddenly seeing the collage of texts from King, all asking about where he is.

Purple glances around, seeing nobody in sight but dull sticks running around frantically.

"KING!" He screams. God forbid King loses him too.

He keeps running, rounding a corner and ending up at the park. He leans against the fence , sighing in relief that he's mostly out of the woods.

But King's still missing.

He texts King.

Purp: at the park.

Dad: Oh my god thank goodness your okay! Hang on, stay there and I'll come to you.

Purple doesn't think he's seen King more panicked than now.

He sighs, thankful he escape that natural disaster of an evening.

Someone screams, and the entire area suddenly comes crashing down.

Purple also screams out of fear, and braces for an impact.

Nothing ever comes.

From where he is, all that he gets is a good amount of rubble as the fence stopped most of it.

And in the process was destroyed.

Amen to the fence for saving his life.

Purple lays on the ground, his entire body aching from running.

"Please hurry, King." He says weakly.

"Purple!"

Purple suddenly sits up, glancing around at the sound of his name. A familiar stick figure rounds the corner and towards the park.

"King...King!"

King hops the fence and runs to Purple. "Are you okay?! I saw that building collapse and got so scared that you'd gotten hurt!"

He checks Purple's body for any injuries as Purple reassures him that he's okay.

"I'm okay, King. Don't worry, I'm okay."

King hugs him tightly. "Thank goodness. I've never been so scared for you."

Purple's adrenaline rush dies down as he hugs King back, a feeling of warmth, safety, and comfort blooming around him.

"Your safe now."

Everything had fallen into a blur once Purple was stopped by a fallen street light.

Thank God it didn't crush him. God forbid King lose him too.

He reached the park, stumbling through an earthquake known as buildings beginning to crumble.

The city was falling apart behind him.

Purple sighed, his chest rising and falling at a rapid pace. God God, this was happening.

The city was falling into destruction right in front of him.

He was right in the middle of it.

Fuck.

"Fuck." His voice echoed his thoughts.

Smoke clouded the pinks, purples, and warm colors of the sunset, and Purple felt anxiety and terror creep back into his body as adrenaline faded.

Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

What the hell just happened?

All was well as he had left the graveyard, and half of his walk between the graveyard and King's house, so what had happened?

Better question: Who the hell was the hollowhead they were chasing?

Something about him had seemed slightly familiar: He was almost the splitting image of Second. The same height, the same head shape, but different colors. They were almost like fraternal twins.

Second was a vibrant orange, like the sun shining in the sky. The pursuited stick was a pitch black, like midnight.

He didn't really want to care. He was with King.

And he was safe.

The neighborhood was bustling with nervous energy. Everyone seemed to be buzzing with the energy and adrenaline that seemed to follow Purple for hours, even after getting home with King, thankfully alive and unharmed.

Apparently, people had started running past their house, and King followed the mayhem into the city, reaching the park outskirts before the building that Purple had barely survived being crushed by.

The city was in ruins, and everyone was complaining but either a lack of work(their workplaces had been destroyed), or being homeless(housing units all over town had either been crushed by taller buildings or subjected to collapsing themselves)

Parts of the city had been destroyed, but nothing a few months couldn't fix. Sure, most of the city was covered in laser marks, or collapsed entirely, but most of the city had been unharmed in the unexpected attack.

Injuries were also very plentiful. Purple had been one of the few to escape mostly unscathed, only a couple of scratches from the run between the city and the park.

And very shaken from the entire ordeal. Because holy fuck, that was scary.

It was scary how a seemingly ordinary day can go downhill so fast.

"Hey, Purple?" King's voice was gentle. "You alright?"

Purple blinked. He must have spaced out again. "Yeah...I'm fine." He gave a reassuring smile.

King returned the smile. "Come on. Let's get those scratches patched up."

"What the hell is that?!" Maroon screamed, snapping Purple out of the stupor. "A UFO?!"

Purple knew for a fact that it wasn't a UFO.

It didn't look much like a flying saucer, as someone who had read books on aliens. It really just looked like...maybe it did.

At the moment, he didn't really care if it was a UFO or not. It was chasing him and Mar, and part of them looked like they were part of his family.

Great.

Fucking great.

"What the hell is going on?!" Maroon shouted, being stopped by a falling street pole. "Why does this keep happening?!"

"Your saying you were chased by people in a ripoff of an alien ship?!" Purple snapped, verifying his phone was still in his sweater pocket before jumping over the pole.

"No. Last time this happened, your silly hollowhead friend was being chased by what I think is the damn government and turned my corn dogs into glitchy chaos! And that was before King made me illegally break into a government facility to rescue you!"

"First off, I highly doubt Rocket Corp. is in any way a government facility. Second off, I had the situation under control before my cousin showed up and attempted to commit mass murder!"

"Oh."

"God knows what Victim's organization is, and I don't really care, because those silly alien ripoffs are coming straight for us!"

Maroon dodged a piece of falling debris and grabbed Purple's arm. "I vote we get the hell out of here and meet King at the park!"

"If King can even get out of the neighborhood." Purple muttered, pulling his arm out of Maroon's grasp and running ahead.

King's neighborhood was losing its shit.

And I mean losing its shit.

If he thought Chosen's entrance was bad, whatever the hell was going on when he got to the city was about five times worse.

Then again, Chosen's grand entrance involved fire and lasers and-

Oh shit, Purple!

King catches the smallest glimpse of Mar pushing his kid out of the way of an exploding fire hydrant before the two continue running. At the end of that street, there's the park, and King knows there's a shortcut from where he is to that park.

King runs down the street, reaching the corner and hopping the fence. He's lost sight of the ship that was causing the chaos, so only God knows what was going on.

"Come on, Mar...I know you can keep kids safe, you've done it before."

Taking Maroon with him when they went to go rescue Purple was a smart idea, in his opinion.

He'd been able to keep Second and the others out of trouble long enough for him to rescue Purple.

"Come on, Mar-"

"KING, LOOK OUT!"

Two overlapping voices King recognizes instantly both shout at him as the ship comes back into view.

"Shit-!"

Purple jumps to the rescue, blocking it's ray with a large block of concrete.

Purple to the rescue.

Nice work, kid!

Maroon drags King out of blast range as the ship gets launched backwards from Purple's ray blocker.

"King, you good?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Are you two okay?"

"After almost getting crushed by a street pole?! No! I am not! Jesus Christ, how do the two of you deal with this?!"

"Well, I did almost destroy an entire game, so..."

"No wonder everyone thinks you and Purple are heroes." Maroon grumbled.

"Shut up. Purple, you alright?" King checks the kid over, and sighs in relief. He looks unharmed, but soaking wet.

"Aside from being drenched in water, I'm fine."

"Surprising you kept them at bay for so long." Mar noted.

"Hey, did you not see me just throw the concrete at them?!"

"Fair."

"What are they even after, is my question," King said, looking around to make sure that they had actually left. "It took them quite a bit to give up when Purple attacked them."

"Your probably gonna kill me for this, but...what if they were going after Purple?" Maroon asked.

King instinctively tugged Purple closer. "Why in hell would they be going after my kid?!"

"...Maybe because he took out an entire organization? Because he destroyed fucking Herobrine?! I don't know, King, why would they?"

King glared at him.

"First off, I didn't destroy shit, Mar. And you should know, you were there!" Purple snapped. "I took out one agent, and they proceeded to destroy most of the base before they died."

"Tomayto, tomahto."

The two glared at each other for another moment.

"Guys, quit it. We need to get out of here before someone gets killed."

Both of them looked at him for a moment, before nodding and moving towards the fence.

King and Purple jumped the fence first, and Maroon followed.

"Okay, where's the closest-"

Purple tackled Maroon out of the way a mere second later.

"Purple?! What-!"

A ray came straight for them.

"KING, GET DOWN!" Maroon screamed before the area was engulfed in a blinding light.

"Purple! Where's Purple?!" King shouted, an arm out in front of him, desperately looking for the kid.

"PURPLE!"

Maroon wanted to know what the hell happened.

One minute, he, King, and Purple were busy trying to find the best way to escape, and the next, Maroon and King were being pushed out of the way, and Purple was missing.

What the fuck just happened?

"Gah, fuck...King? King, you good?" He asked, looking at his friend.

"Augh...I think so? But...where's Purple?"

A smoke line traced up to the sky where Purple once stood, but Maroon couldn't tell if he had been teleported or murdered.

"Either these people have teleportation abilities, or they just committed murder."
