Purple already hated this new dimension.
Because everything now looked exactly the same.
And sliced clean in half, so that made it a thousand time harder to figure anything out.
"Maybe Victim has answe-ACK!"
Something-or someone- had jumped from somewhere and attacked him.
"Hey, hey! What the hell, man?! Let-me-!"
The figure on top of him froze for a moment, before getting off and dragging Purple to his feet.
"Okay, what the hell was that fo-Mar?"
It was, in fact, Maroon. Although he looked like he'd just seen the world succumb to an apocalyptic fate.
"...Mar?"
Maroon stared at him, but Purple couldn't pinpoint any emotions.
Now he was pretty freaked out.
"Purple?"
Why in hell was Maroon staring at him like he had just been bitten by the deadliest snake known to mankind?
"...Mar? What's going on...?"
Maroon snapped out of whatever he was thinking about. "Right. You've been dead for months. Of course you don-"
"Stop right there. What the hell do you mean "You've been dead for months?""
Maroon stared at him. "...What?"
"Okay, let me get something straight: I got teleported here...somehow. I don't know if I'm in another dimension or somewhere in the far future, but I'm not dead."
"Ohhhh...so your not...this world's Purple."
"You could say that."
"Either way, we should get out of here. I know you probably set that meat snake on fire back there, but there's monsters that are probably about five times worse."
"You mean the giant oversized worm I just spent about ten minutes of my life trying to murder?"
"...yeah. That. It'd be better if King explained it to you...after your done explaining that your not from here."
"If your gonna make me hurt him again, I'm gonna beat your ass."
"Please don't. I'll be robbing another King of you."
"...Fair."
Apparently, King and Maroon had been staying out by the old Rocket Corp. building with Victim, who had been trying to get answers for the monsters, including the one Purple had been attacked by.
Maroon had given him the basic rundown of what had happened on their walk through the forest.
"So, after Silver trapped all of us in the box, they set off a Fourth of July in the base, and this world's version of me attacked her just before the base exploded?"
"Exactly."
"And then they unleashed a bunch of monsters, like the meat snakes, and things have only spiraled since?"
"Yeah. Victim got most of the city down into a bunker underneath the city, but most of his agents...and other citizens, weren't so lucky. That's why the meat snake was so big."
"So they just...feed on us?"
"Well, they mainly feed on flesh, but yes. I think Silver found them on some weird analog horror video online, and they just replicated them." Maroon explained.
"Well, if we could find the video, maybe we'd be able to find a weakness!"
"Impossible. Silver died alongside your alternate self, meaning they took...at least most of their secrets with them."
"Fuck."
"But, maybe Victim can dig something up. He and King have been trying to figure out where these monsters came from in the first place so they could maybe reverse everything...which I didn't know King could do."
"You do realize King almost destroyed all of Minecraft...right?"
"Oh yeah. Forgot about that."
Rocket Corp...somehow looked better than it did in Purple's dimension.
Aside from most of the headquarters being destroyed, presumably because of Silver's attempted takeover, the place looked like it had been keeping everyone alive ever since the apocalypse started.
"Try and stay low, most of these people...kinda saw you die." Maroon whispered. Purple threw his hood over his head, trying to stay as close to Maroon as possible.
"Come on, where the hell are you, Vic?" Maroon whispered.
Something crashed from in front of them.
"Shit."
"Meat snakes?"
"Nope. Probably worse."
"How can it be worse?!"
"Mimics eat us."
"Oh."
A red, fleshy blur whizzed past them. Maroon threw Purple behind him.
"Vic!"
The grey hollowhead in question ran out of a room, with King.
Purple restrained the urge to run to them.
"The damn Harvesters got out! And a Mimic, I think!"
"Well, get it under control! I found a child that ended up in this dimension!" Maroon shouted.
"You have a what?!" King snapped, dodging one of the Harvesters.
"A child from another dimension?"
"How?!"
"Fight now, talk later! I'll meet you guys at the box! We'll be safe there!" Maroon snapped, grabbing Purple and running.
"What the hell are those?!" Purple snapped as Maroon ran into the main room that Purple could remember.
"Vita carnis. Living meat."
"Ew."
"Yeah. Be glad we haven't encountered The Monoliths."
"The Mono-what?"
"...Be glad you don't know. They're big. Really big."
"Oh-"
A red tendril shot through the doorway, followed by more. Some of them already had grey, impaled agents stained with blood.
"And your telling me this happens often?!"
"Yep."
The Harvester threw one of the bodies at the box, sending blood and guts dripping down the wall. Maroon glared at the monster.
"You vile monster."
King and Victim ran into the room, skidding to the stop at the bodies.
"Ew."
"Jesus. Maroon! Get the kid out of there! I don't think the box can withstand a hit-"
One of the Harvester's tendrils slammed into the box, slicing it in half. Maroon and Purple jumped out of the Box just before the monster was able to demolish the rest of the white cube.
"Mar! What the hell is goi-Purple?!"
"We literally just saw you-"
"I'll explain later."
"We'll get everything straight later," Maroon said. "Right now, it's either detain to kill the shit out of that."
"I say we kill it...if that's possible."
"The only monster I think we can really kill is the meat snakes...mainly since Purple set one on fire and that did the trick." Maroon explained.
"So...can we just set that on fire?" Victim asked.
"Probably not. Nobody's risking their lives to stop that, and we don't have much that can actually engulf it in flames."
"We can blow up this part of the base?" Victim said. "This was mainly to hold Chosen and Second, and most of it's already destroyed."
"Sure. But where are we going to find enough dynamite?"
Purple watched the adults bicker for a moment before getting an idea.
Time stands still once Purple says the figures name.
The Dark Lord is standing in the box, with Purple and Silver, alive and unharmed.
Thinking what everyone else is thinking, Chosen turns on Victim.
"Did you have him here!?"
Victim recoiled, clearly not expecting the question.
"What?! No! I thought Second killed him! And then he came back with him and Purple after The Day Of Surrection!"
Second blinked at the mention of his name. "Wait I did what now?"
"You don't remember?"
"The fuck are we talking about?!"
"Guys! Focus!" Green shouts, getting everyone's attention. "Purple's in a box!"
"Relax," Victim said. "I'll be able to monitor them from out here, but it will take some time to get them out. Because SOMEONE-" He shouted, glaring at Silver, who eagerly returned it. "-Destored the lock and unlock panels while trying to kill me!"
"Oh, shut up! It's just some stupid technology!" Solver said, waving their hand dismissively.
Purple and Dark shared a mutual look of "yeah, stupid technology, my ass."
Silver then turned on Purple.
"Don't fucking try it, whoever you are," Dark snapped. "You got us trapped in here."
"Who said I was gonna turn this whole situation around and blame it on on Purple?!" Silver snarled.
"The fact that you've been doing it for years and have done it at least twice in the entire time I've been stuck here." Purple deadpanned, clearly not enjoying the conversation.
"Oh, shut up. At least I have a family."
"And at least I have a clear future out in front of me, not like someone, who's working for a tyrant whom they almost killed and are now going to have to rely on while we rot in here." Purple shot back with a smirk.
"Well, I wasn't abandoned." Silver said.
"Hey, you were just as abandoned as I, and everyone else in the family, was. I just chose to accept that it happened inst ead of waiting eight goddamn years for so much as seeing him on the streets! I accepted that my father left, and there was nothing I could do about it. Why can't you accept your uncle left?!"
"Because I loved him, unlike you!"
"Really? That's the best excuse you can come up with? I did love my father. But hey, guess who decided to take those familial affections and throw them back in my face like a backstabbing, traitor coward!"
Silver didn't retort.
"I did love you, Silver. You were my older cousin, after all. But then you did exactly what my father did and threw those affections back in my face, and you go and kidnap me when I did nothing to you in the thirteen years I knew you existed, and I was out living my life like a normal person, without any type of problem! You had to go and ruin any sense of normalcy that I had been trying so fucking hard to bring back into my life because all I knew was abandonment!"
"Yet you didn't even try to come to us for help!" Silver finally found a chance to speak.
"Bull. Fucking. Shit. I called everyone for help when Mother fell ill. Nobody wanted to give any kind of advice or comfort to the helpless little kid who was still reeling from losing Father. I tried to call you and Auntie, but guess what? She basically told me to fuck off and everyone went no contact and acted like we were just diseases and parasites being spread across the ocean at such a rapid pace, there was nothing they could do or wanted to think of doing."
"Purple, I promise you, I wanted to help. Mama wouldn't let me because I was young, and she didn't want me mixing in with you because of what they thought!"
"Oh, so it was the whole fucking family who thought I was a whoreson?! Who thought I was born out of wedlock? A result of an affair? And my parents were still allowed to marry?!"
"I swear on my life, everything I said was everyone's own opinion that's stuck with me for the eight years we've been apart."
"Everything you said in that room?"
"Shut up. I'm doing just fine."
"Oh, please, a twelve year old was doing just fine being a servant to some egotistical maniac? I'm surprised you've survived the last three years."
"Of course you are. Nobody in your stupid family came to help, so what was I supposed to do? Move to another city? Kill myself?! What kind of person are you?!"
"Now, now, they're your family too."
"YOUR NOT MY FAMILY!" Purple screamed.
"Why? Because we abandoned you? Because we thought you were weak and worthless?! Because the entire family thought it better for you guys to just die anyway?! God, your dad was doing something rig ht for himself! You and your whore mother were holding Navy back from being something he could be worth living for! And here you are, turning this around on my uncle like he was acting like an asshole?!"
"BECAUSE HE WAS! You weren't there, Silver! You don't know what me and my mother went through! We were abused in more ways than you can think of! I was thrown into a wall so often, every moment felt like my ribs were going to fucking break! He stormed out on us! All of us! Because he thought all of us were weak and undeserving of life! Be grateful that I'm still alive eight years later because I knew that I had a life worth living for! This is you eight years later! Defending an abuser and, if things had gone any more south, a murderer! You're defending your uncle, who walked out on all of us! How long has it been since you heard a word from the asshole?!"
Silver flinched. "Eight years..."
"Exactly! And your defending him when he walks out on you just like he walked out on me! Wow, you really are his sister's child."
Silver snarled. "Your whore mother-"
"Call my mother a whore one more fucking time, I will stab you." Purple snarled.
"You and your mother are just victims of manipulation. You were manipulated." Silver said simply.
It was taking all of Purple's willpower not to go through with his threat.
"The hell are you talking about?" He seethed.
"Your father manipulated you into believing that you were being abused."
Now Purple wanted to fulfill his threat. The hell were they on about?
"No the fuck he was not. You should have seen how we were afterwards. I almost broke numerous bones being thrashed around by that pitiful excuse of a father. My mother suffered the same. We were bruised beyond imaginable belief, and none of you came to help us. I'm surprised mother thought of you guys as family still, even after that. Hell, she expected one of you to take me in after she died."
Silver glared at him. "We tried.."
"Did you?! If you had tried, as you claim you did, would I be here right now, better off than I ever have been, happier than I was before the abuse started, and with friends?! Would I have a guardian who wouldn't hurt me, who swears on his life to protect me, who treats me like I'm a person who deserves to live and be happy?! Or would I be here, working alongside you as a husk for a tyrannical maniac who wants an innocent man?"
"Now, Chosen is not innocent-"
"You sure? Because with how your acting, it seems like your trying to perform your family's trait of guilt tripping. Turning everything around so it's someone else's fault, and not yours." Purple asked, most of his statements laced with as much sarcasm as he had left.
"Now, listen here, you little-"
"Whoreson? Worthless, weak, pathetic brat? Are those the statements about to come out of your mouth?" Purple was already reaching for his knife. He was thankful they hadn't taken his stuff.
Also surprised at how stupid they were for not. He had just threatened to stab Silver five minutes ago, and nobody had the nerves to even comment on it.
Jesus, these guys were stupid. What did they think he had in there?
Silver spluttered. "Now, listen-"
"No, I think I've heard enough. Now, King, my friends, and I are leaving. And you and your stupid little plot are going to leave me and my family alone."
"But-"
"No." The word was bit out. Purple stared at Silver with a hardened glare. "Don't even try it. You and the people you love are nowhere close to family to me. King and the others are my family, not you."
"Yes."
Dark blinked. "We done having family drama?"
Both cousins looked at each other. Purple sensed something from a mile away.
He was expecting a betrayal.
He clutched his bag tighter, his other hand already reaching for his knife.
Silver took something out of their pocket. Purple's heart dropped, and his eyes widened.
I fucking knew it.
"Nope." They threw it full force it Purple.
That's the last Purple remembered before he blacked out.
He did notice King and the others jump in shock and terror, and then the box was cloaked.
He did remember hearing Silver speak into their microphone. "Detain Victim and the others, and pull the lever. We're gonna be celebrating a fourth of July out here tonight."
Purple ran towards the control panel, which he was surprised was still able to work.
"Vic, I'm gonna need you to tie that down as best you can!" Purple snapped, spawning in a lasso and tossing it to Victim.
"What are you-"
"Do you three want to live to see another day or not?"
Victim stared at the boy before twirling the lasso and wrapping it around the Harvester's bulb.
"You two," Purple tossed two more lassos and King and Maroon. "You hold onto the tendrils."
"And you're going to..."
Purple grabbed a match and lighter. "I'm gonna burn that bitch."
King and Maroon ducked into an alley to avoid the monster creeping around.
"What the fuck is that?" Maroon whispered.
"Ssh! Do you want that thing to kill us?!"
"It won't-"
"Do you want Purple to lose more family members."
"King."
"Just be quiet! That thing will kill us! I'm calling it!"
"Fine, fine."
Something whirled behind them.
"Ah, shit. Here we go again."
"Get them."
