King and Maroon ducked into an alley to avoid the monster creeping around.
"What the fuck is that?" Maroon whispered.
"Ssh! Do you want that thing to kill us?!"
"It won't-"
"Do you want Purple to lose more family members."
"King."
"Just be quiet! That thing will kill us! I'm calling it!"
"Fine, fine."
Something whirled behind them.
"Ah, shit. Here we go again."
"Get them."
"King! King! King, wake up!"
Whatever the hell had just happened had given King a migraine.
Which was lovely.
Exactly what he needed when he and Maroon had just been captured, and his kid was missing.
Just.
Fucking.
Wonderful.
"Purple's gotta be having a much better time than we are." Maroon said, staring at the ceiling of the tiny, colorless cell they were locked in.
"You do realize Purple could be anywhere...because he was vaporized by a fucking ray." King snapped.
A voice came from behind the cell door.
"Oh, don't worry! Your kid is fine! Well...as fine as you can be when you're in a monster-infested dimension!"
Maroon felt King freeze up.
"He is where now?!"
"An infested dimension with monsters overruling it! But don't worry, he'll be fine!"
"Ehjebe-HE'LL BE FINE?! YOU BASTARDS THREW HIM INTO AN OVERRUN, INFESTED DIMENSION WITH BLOODTHIRSTY MONSTERS!? HAVE YOU PEOPLE LOST YOUR MINDS?!" Maroon screamed, run-tackling the door and banging his fists on it.
"And you said your little brat of a child was doing better than you were!" The female voice said as it trailed down the hall until it was out of earshot.
Maroon growled. "Inconsiderate bastards. They're the ones putting Purple in this death-trap. Now how are we gonna get out of here?!"
King watched Maroon pace the room for a few moments.
"Or we can just die in here. There's no way we're gonna get out without getting killed anyways, and Purple's probably already dead by now."
"Hey. Did your kid not only rescue us from certain death, but also stopped a fucking Minecraft God all on his own?"
King's neighborhood was losing its shit.
And I mean losing its shit.
If he thought Chosen's entrance was bad, whatever the hell was going on when he got to the city was about five times worse.
Then again, Chosen's grand entrance involved fire and lasers and-
Oh shit, Purple!
King catches the smallest glimpse of Mar pushing his kid out of the way of an exploding fire hydrant before the two continue running. At the end of that street, there's the park, and King knows there's a shortcut from where he is to that park.
King runs down the street, reaching the corner and hopping the fence. He's lost sight of the ship that was causing the chaos, so only God knows what was going on.
"Come on, Mar...I know you can keep kids safe, you've done it before."
Taking Maroon with him when they went to go rescue Purple was a smart idea, in his opinion.
He'd been able to keep Second and the others out of trouble long enough for him to rescue Purple.
"Come on, Mar-"
"KING, LOOK OUT!"
Two overlapping voices King recognizes instantly both shout at him as the ship comes back into view.
"Shit-!"
Purple jumps to the rescue, blocking it's ray with a large block of concrete.
Purple to the rescue.
Nice work, kid!
Maroon drags King out of blast range as the ship gets launched backwards from Purple's ray blocker.
"King, you good?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Are you two okay?"
"After almost getting crushed by a street pole?! No! I am not! Jesus Christ, how do the two of you deal with this?!"
"Well, I did almost destroy an entire game, so..."
"No wonder everyone thinks you and Purple are heroes." Maroon grumbled.
"Shut up. Purple, you alright?" King checks the kid over, and sighs in relief. He looks unharmed, but soaking wet.
"Aside from being drenched in water, I'm fine."
"Surprising you kept them at bay for so long." Mar noted.
"Hey, did you not see me just throw the concrete at them?!"
"Fair."
"What are they even after, is my question," King said, looking around to make sure that they had actually left. "It took them quite a bit to give up when Purple attacked them."
"Your probably gonna kill me for this, but...what if they were going after Purple?" Maroon asked.
King instinctively tugged Purple closer. "Why in hell would they be going after my kid?!"
"...Maybe because he took out an entire organization? Because he destroyed fucking Herobrine?! I don't know, King, why would they?"
King glared at him.
"First off, I didn't destroy shit, Mar. And you should know, you were there!" Purple snapped. "I took out one agent, and they proceeded to destroy most of the base before they died."
"Tomayto, tomahto."
The two glared at each other for another moment.
"Guys, quit it. We need to get out of here before someone gets killed."
Both of them looked at him for a moment, before nodding and moving towards the fence.
King and Purple jumped the fence first, and Maroon followed.
"Okay, where's the closest-"
Purple tackled Maroon out of the way a mere second later.
"Purple?! What-!"
A ray came straight for them.
"KING, GET DOWN!" Maroon screamed before the area was engulfed in a blinding light.
"Purple! Where's Purple?!" King shouted, an arm out in front of him, desperately looking for the kid.
"PURPLE!"
Purple felt his body hit the water, and his mind grew foggy.
Thinking of how they were going to stop Herobrine became priority number two as he tried getting his body to move so he could grab his elytra, the staff, and swim to the surface before he drowned.
It wasn't going well.
Purple began trying to flail his arms or kick his legs, but his entire body felt like a feather as he floated down the the bottom of the lake.
Now he wanted to die more than ever.
He was fighting for his life by this point, and if anything, most of his friends were dead.
Now he knew how Gold must've felt when he died.
Suddenly, he felt a surge of adrenaline run through him, and in an instant, he grabbed the elytra and staff, and began swimming to the surface until he remembered he was holding an elytra.
He quickly put it on and grabbed a firework from his inventory, and flew up to attack, Minecraft staff at the ready.
Herobrine cackled evilly as King frantically searched the waters for Purple.
No no no no no no no no.
This couldn't be happening.
Not another one.
He can't lose another child.
Not again.
"So much for protecting a child when you just failed!" Herobrine laughed.
King glared at him through tears. "You son of a bitch."
He felt his voice break at his tone.
He just lost Purple yet again, and he couldn't do anything about it.
He felt horrible. "I should've protected him..."
Suddenly, a blur splashed out of the water and slammed Herobrine onto the water before crashing onto the ground near King and Chosen.
"Holy shit-Purple!" Chosen exclaimed. King best him in running towards him, since he shot to his feet and ran towards the small stick.
"Purple!" Once Purple had barely gotten to his feet, King tackled him in a tight embrace.
"Oh, Purple...thank Alan your safe..."
Purple weakly returns the hug. "Is everyone okay?"
"For the most part, yes. Herobrine can't really do much right now, seeing as you just curb-stomped him. It'll probably be ten times easier to defeat him now." Chosen explained.
Chosen looked at the sky. It was nearing sunset. "Fuck. You guys are running out of time. If we don't stop him soon."
King hugged Purple tighter. "Don't even say it. It's not happening."
"King, if we don't stop him soon, they will die. And you won't see them for another year."
"NO! I'm not losing Purple again!"
Chosen backed down.
"Please...he's all I have left." King pleaded.
"...We've gotta find a way for kill him then."
"The staff." Purple said. "If we can make a source of power strong enough, we might be able to defeat him."
"But there's only one block."
"We can work around that. King found many ways to improvise failed plans, and I'm sure you guys found ways to work around flaws in your plans."
Chosen sighed. "If you think it'll work, be my guest. But..."
"Please be careful." King finished Chosen's sentence.
Reluctantly, Purple grabbed the staff and flew down to Herobrine, who was quickly regaining his senses.
Purple stopped midway and prepared to attack. "Well, here goes nothing." He fired the staff at Herobrine.
Herobrine didn't see it coming, but quickly began to fight against it.
Purple felt just like King fending off him and the Color Gang back in the Nether.
Herobrine was advancing as he thought, and he increasing the staff's power.
"Come on, Purple. You can do this." He increased the power again.
"Your never gonna get away with this." Herobrine snarled.
Purple returned the smirk Herobrine had used so many times at this point. "Oh, but I already have."
He launched the staff at the deity with full power, and the place was engulfed in a white explosion.
"PURPLE NO!" King screamed in horror.
The white began to die down, and nobody emerged from the ball of energy.
King sank to the floor, tears glistening in his eyes and beginning to fall as he began sobbing.
The sun continued nearing sunset as a stick figures shadow began to be visible.
"...Purple?" Chosen asked.
King shot his head up, and through tears he could clearly see the form of a stick figure flying down from the energy beam.
"Purple! He did it!" Chosen exclaimed, listening to the others happy cheers from around the mountain terrain.
King hugged the kid tightly as soon as he was on the ground.
"You did it, kid. You actually did it..."
Purple hugged him back. "He's dead...?"
"Yeah...you defeated him, Purple. I'm so proud of you."
Purple himself started crying as soon as King had mentioned how proud he was of him.
Herobrine was defeated, after all this time.
"..Yeah?"
"So he can take out a couple of monsters on his own! And hey, if he's lucky, he'll be able to get out of there and come rescue us!"
"...Maybe."
Hours had gone past, and there was no sign of anybody coming to rescue them.
Not even the people who had put them in that situation had come by to gloat.
King had already lost hope, and Maroon was slowly losing it.
"Yep. We're stuck. Nobody's gonna get us out of here."
Something was thrown through the window, causing a small shattering sound.
"What the-"
"Purple?!"
Both King and Maroon jumped up, watching the window intently.
"Wish it was Purple..." The voice said, sliding the window open.
"Victim!"
"Thank God they didn't get you!"
"Well," Victim said, grabbing King's arm and pulling him through the open window. "They almost did. Some alien wannabes busted into the base and started attacking. I was able to escape after leaving Agent in charge after he said he could fend for himself, and then started looking for Purple."
"Purple's in another dimension overrun with monsters, and has most likely become a giant worm's next dinner."
"Purple's a smart kid," Victim snapped at the dark red stick. "I doubt he's become the next meal of some giant worm."
Something smashed from around them, and the city erupted in screams of terror.
The ground shook from underneath them.
"What in hell-"
A giant footstep shook the ground again.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" Maroon screamed.
King and Victim glanced up, almost freezing on the spot.
"Holy shi-"
"Heaven Of The Flesh."
