They all woke up the next morning. Kate and Nate were the first two to wake up. Shortly after, Cooper woke up from hearing them talk. Kate said, "Nate, can you wake your sister up?" He did a little evil smile. "Oh no, what are you gonna do?" He told her, "Lila said no tickle fights because people might be trying to sleep. But she never said anything about the mornings..." He slowly lifted the blanket up and then jabbed his fingers into her ribs. This shot her right up, as everyone else laughed at her. "Haha, you're the sleepyhead of the day!" "Maybe I am, but I can still do THIS!" And she tickled her brother back, causing him to burst into a fit of laughter. Cooper then told them, "We're gonna go eat breakfast, and then hit the beach again!" Lila quickly did 50 sit-ups, and then got changed. She just wore a tank top and shorts, as she knew that it was hot outside, and she'd be wearing her bathing suit underneath. Kate decided to do the same thing. She didn't wanna tell her aunts, but she liked her decorated bikini more than the Black Widow one. They just had breakfast in the downstairs hotel lobby. Most of them had eggs and toast as their breakfast, except Nate, Yelena, and Nat, who all chose cereal instead. When they arrived at the beach, Lila saw that they'd set up a net this time. She was very overjoyed, and she immediately ran to the net to play volleyball with Kate, Cooper, and Clint. Her mom, Natasha, and Yelena stayed back, while Nate started trying to make a sandcastle. It was Clint and Lila vs Cooper and Kate, and as predicted, Lila and Clint mopped the floor with them. They shut them out for two consecutive series, but in the last one, they at least scored two points on them before losing again. Kate said, "The daddy-daughter team is unbeatable." Clint responded, "Damn right." They took out a football, and some college people walked by and said, "Hey y'all, mind if we join?"
"Not at all, go ahead!" There were about 7 of them, guys and girls, and all of the guys were varying sizes. Two girls were taller than Lila but shorter than Kate, while another was as tall as Kate. The guys were all different. One of them was shorter than Kate, while one of them made 6'1 Cooper look small. The other two were similar sizes with each other. They all threw the ball one after another and then decided to make it interesting by involving route running as well as jump catches. The guys would flirt with Kate here and there. One of them tried flirting with Lila, but one death stare from Cooper caused him to back off.
Meanwhile, both Nat and Yelena continued lying on their backs. They unfortunately hadn't noticed how much closer they had gotten to them while playing football. Nat said, "Retirement from superhero work is nice." Yelena responded, "Yeah. It's nice. Even though we're both getting a little fat." One of the women threw to Cooper. He then threw the ball to Clint, who threw it to Kate. Kate then threw to Lila. Then, Lila overthrew the biggest guy in the group, and he leaped backward very high into the air, not paying attention to where he would land. He got very confused and fell off balance due to the unusually soft landing and loud scream that followed. He got up, and he realized that he'd landed, on both feet, right onto Yelena's belly. Extremely concerned, everybody quickly gathered around Yelena, as she was in excruciating pain. She began to cough up blood, and they realized she was in bad condition. He kept repeatedly apologizing, as all of his well over 220 pounds had landed right on top of a woman's belly. Lila called an ambulance, and when they arrived Kate took Yelena's shoulders, and said, "Can someone get her other side?" To which Cooper immediately complied. They carried her onto the stretcher. Little Nate didn't know what was going on, and asked, "Is she gonna be okay?" Kate, concerned, said, "Yeah...but she's very hurt right now..." The guy who injured her said that he'd pay all of her hospital bills. One of the girls asked Natasha if she was the Black Widow, to which she said yes. She told her that normally she'd be freaking out right now, but they currently have something big to worry about. They would all join Yelena in the hospital after getting changed.
That night everyone tried to sleep, but Lila sat crying in her bed. Nate noticed and immediately hugged her. He then climbed a little higher and kissed her on the forehead. He told her, "It's not your fault." She kept sniffling, and then Cooper and Kate joined. Cooper kissed her hair, "Lila, we all know you. You wouldn't truly hurt anyone. Accidents happen." She said, "But now...aunt Yelena is in the hospital...because of me." Cooper told her, "Sis, things like these happen, and they really hurt. But you have to realize, it's not your fault. This was something that could've happened to any of us. One time, I juked a guy out in basketball, and he tore his ACL. Couldn't play again for almost a year." Kate told her, "One time, me and my friend were sparring in a boxing match. I accidentally punched the left side of her stomach, and it badly damaged her liver. She was hospitalized because of it." Lila looked at both of them. "Thanks guys. I really appreciate it." Little Nate was still clinging onto his sister, hugging her tightly. He told his big sister, "We know how sweet you are. You're the best sister in the world. And I think all of your friends would agree that you're the best friend in the world, too. Everyone knows that you would never hurt someone." She was still very sad, but she just nodded and quietly said, "thanks". Cooper told her, "I love you Lila. We all do. We would never hold this against you. You weren't even the one who did it, and honestly, it's not his fault either. It's no one's fault." Kate agreed, "Yeah. Things like these happen. They're terrible, but we can't let our mistakes define us." Nate nodded, "We all make mistakes. Those don't make us bad though." Lila tried to stretch her arms out to hug all three of them. "Thanks...all of you...truly." She was still fighting back sniffles. Kate went back to her bed. They all wanted to get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, that wasn't gonna happen...
