Dark orange clouds rolled over a jagged canyon, blocking out the yellow light of the sun, and ominous thunder rumbled before lightning exploded past the peaks of a mountain. In a baren valley, a pink hedgehog in a red dress and large boots stood upon her feet, and rubbed her head, disoriented and bewildered.
A shapely white bat wearing a heart-piece and a black body suit stood up moments later, rubbing the spot between her large ears. The bat and the hedgehog shared green eyes, and studied their surroundings, confused by what was even happening.
"Whoa!" Amy remarked, "This isn't Central City, that's for sure."
"I don't know where we are, but there aren't any gems around." Rouge quipped.
"Are we on another planet or is this some dark pocket dimension?"
Rouge shrugged as a thought popped into her head. "Maybe we wound up in a bad future."
The pink hedgehog doubted that. If anything, the girls had wound up in a mysterious dimension devoid of life. Something, or someone, had brought them here.
But, why?
Why was this unknown force so interested in them?
Prepared for the first sign of trouble, Amy pulled out her trusty Piko-Piko Hammer, and her fingers tightened around the handle. Rouge flapped her wings, and hovered in the air, her eyes surveying the area as thunder rumbled somewhere far away from the two girls' current position.
Rouge and Amy wandered around the valley, looking for a sign of life or a way out. If this was another dimension, there just had to be a portal that would get the two of them back to their home-world. Just then, a shadow danced over Amy, and she stopped to spot a large jagged rock up ahead.
The duo glanced at one another, then they noticed the outline of a human-like shape that connected with the rock.
For a moment, they believed the shape was part of the rock. Amy and Rouge looked up, spotting a tall, shapely female with brown-hair standing upon the narrow peak, holding a fan in her mouth and wearing a somewhat skimpy kunoichi costume that accentuated her curvaceous figure, which almost made Rouge feel a sense of jealousy.
"She's certainly not from around here or from our home-world." The bat remarked.
"Yeah." Amy nodded, holding her hammer tightly, "But where is she from?"
In a second, the woman took up the fan in her hands, pointed it at the hedgehog and the bat, and leaped from the rock, tucked her body in a somersault, and landed gracefully on her feet before opening the mysterious Asian fan in her hands.
Just then, a black cloud rolled through the landscape, surrounding both Amy and Rouge while passing the kunoichi woman. The cloud dissipated after a short notice, and another shapely woman emerged from below, from within Amy and Rouge's shadows, sporting a sultry black sorceress outfit while holding a staff that had a spiked gem as its core.
"Who even are you?" Amy questioned.
"Don't expect us to go easy on you." The kunoichi suddenly said, pointing her fan at the two humanoid animals.
"Face the power of Cia." Cia the Sorceress chimed in, "My power is beyond all others, and your strength is less than what we possess."
"Mai Shiranui of the Shiranui Clan will send you packing." Mai added.
Several bolts of lightning exploded high above, followed by the rumble of thunder. Amy and Rouge nodded to one another, and the girls prepared for battle with their adversaries, the kunoichi Mai Shiranui, and her partner, the sorceress known as Cia. Tensions grew stronger, and the great balance of peace and chaos teetered closer towards the latter.
In this moment, the balance shifted to the side of war, and the four womanly warriors engaged in combat;
Amy and Mai rushed one another, and the forces of red began exchanging blows. Rouge charged towards Cia, and a light lit up the valley.
Gem thief versus dark sorceress and hammer girl against attractive kunoichi.
The four-way showdown of ages was in motion, just as most battles were.
Mai's right leg streaked upward, her hair flowing in the breeze, and Amy hopped out of the way. The hammer heroine raised her hammer, and slammed it into the barren surface in front of her voluptuous opponent, who gracefully backflipped several feet to dodge the attack. Mai twirled her fan, and a gust of wind blew in Amy's direction.
Acting fast, the pink hedgehog rolled to the side, and rushed Mai. She slammed her hammer down again, and the resulting shockwave made the kunoichi tumble near a rock. Amy lifted her weapon, and stared at the surprised fighter, preparing for what would be her next move.
Rouge flew around Cia, avoiding blasts of magic energy that were generated by the sorceress' staff, and the bat dove in. Cia held her weapon high, but the white bat's flight was quick, and she kicked her in the face.
The shapely agent flew over again, and the curvaceous magic-wielder shook off the shock, and twirled her precious weapon in a 360 arc. Close by, Mai ran towards Amy like a bull, and the pink hedgehog held her hammer defensively, blocking the kunoichi's karate kicks before the attractive Shiranui clicked her fingers.
Blazing fire erupted around the martial artist, and she held her arm outward, sending a wall of flame towards Amy. Amy rolled out of the way in a spin dash, and twirled her mighty hammer. She had a special move of her own, and the pink hedgehog had barely started.
Without wasting a precious second, Amy slapped on her Warrior Feather, held out her hammer, and began spinning like a rapid tornado. She twirled towards Mai, who flipped over the pink hedgehog's head, and the kunoichi made a rush for the spinning Amy before she launched a flying kick with her foot aimed at the hedgehog's face.
CLONK! Mai wound up underestimating Amy, and the spinning hammer hedgehog tornado knocked the kunoichi several feet into a rock near the spot where Rouge and Cia were fighting.
Rouge gasped as a bolt of energy from her foe's staff hit her, briefly immobilizing the shapely bat, and the attractive sorceress made her advance. Cia's eyes twinkled, and the magic-wielder laughed in a half-maniacal manner.
"Is that all the skill you have?" The bat heard the dark witch ask tauntingly.
"Rouge!" Amy called, and she rushed to Rouge's aid.
Cia flicked the tip of her staff, and the pink-colored hedgehog fighter cartwheeled out of the way to evade a blast of magic. Amy spun her hammer again, and engaged in battle with Cia, swinging the great Piko right towards the sorceress' face with the determination to knock her down.
The dark magic that incapacitated Rouge broke, and the bat noticed Mai recovering. The kunoichi fighter rushed into the battle, and the sultry gem thief moved quick to intercept before Mai struck Amy. The two shapely combatants engaged in combat, kicking and punching and twirling in a whirlwind of motion.
Amy yelped as Cia warped behind her, and she threw her arms, and the staff, around the pink hedgehog's neck. The sorceress laughed, but the battle-capable hedgehog was not going to let her take the likes of Amy Rose out of the fight.
With a cry of determination, Amy ducked and threw Cia off, slamming the magic-wielder into the ground hard enough to daze her. The staff fell out of its owner's hand, and crashed into a rock, cracking the crystal that gave it power. Rouge and Mai gripped hands, engaging one another in a grip-lock, before the former butted the kunoichi in the head.
"Unh!" Mai grunted.
Taking advantage of the moment, Rouge leaped up with her wings flapping, and she spun around before kicking the attractive, curvaceous martial artist in the side of the face, knocking Mai Shiranui to the ground.
Amy and Rouge stood back-to-back, gazing down at the stunned Cia and the incapacitated Mai. They'd beaten the girls, now they had to figure out how they were going to get out of here.
"Not bad." Amy told Rouge.
"Same with you." The bat girl nodded.
Mai grunted as she struggled to get up. The kunoichi rose on one knee, and one foot. She wiped her face, then the highly-skilled, highly-beautiful fighter bowed her head to both Rose and Bat.
"You two were strong, and your fighting prowess is exceptional." Mai said respectfully.
"Perhaps we underestimated you all." Cia added as she sat up on her side.
"Do any of you know where we are?" Amy began questioning, "Why were you so willing to attack us, and do you know if there is a way out of here?"
"Honestly. We were told that if we fought you, we would be allowed to go home." Mai explained, "And when I bumped into Cia, we both didn't know what was going on. And when we saw you, we weren't sure if we could trust you and if we could work together to get back to our homes. Oh, and we don't know your names."
"My name is Amy Rose." Amy introduced, "And this is Rouge, Rouge the Bat."
"I'm the world's greatest treasure hunter." Rouge said casually, "One of the world's greatest treasure hunters, next to a red echidna named Knuckles."
"I'm one of Fatal Fury's top fighters, and an occasional competitor in the King of Fighters games." Mai said, "Cia is part of a group of sorceresses who watches over the Triforce and the balance of Hyrule."
"I was the same person as Lana before we split." Cia inferred, "Now we're two sorceresses. And I think we can get ourselves home. My staff can open space-time portals... but it's cracked. However, I think I can open a rift with the right incantation, if you women are kind enough to allow me."
The shapely sorceress rose to her feet while a shadowy magic aura encircled her figure, then she clicked her fingers again, and began chanting in an ancient dialect. Cia twirled her hands, rotated her arm with an outstretched palm, and clicked her fingers again.
"Mu've uni-rev ja-ci, qet ra-ro..." Cia chanted, "Ki-gal tuka je-ry no-milan. Kora-kon!"
A few moments later, a pair of gold ring-shaped portals opened up near the four women's position, and Amy shared a fist-bump with Rouge before shaking Cia's hand along with the sweet Mai Shiranui's hand.
"See you around. If we meet again." Rouge waved to the two human women.
"Hope you take care!" Mai flicked her fan with a smile.
Feeling upbeat, Amy waved to Cia and Mai one last time, then she and Rouge stepped through their portal which led back to their home-world while Mai took her portal and Cia took the other. Within moments, the four women were back where they belonged, leaving the wasteland world devoid of life as it had before.
The End
