Bell managed get through the registration for entering the city, but he did find it exasperating how long the line was and registration process was. As he finally entered the walls of Orario, he was greeted by the sight of the bustling city, incredible buildings, merchants and vendors all around, people of many race walking amongst each other even the elves, and of course, the sight of adventurers.

Bell was in awe at different people that were around, interacting and walking amongst each other towards a single goal, the Dungeon. He looked around and noticed some stares directed at him, not just anyone though. There were from deities from different places, he assumed. It was like they sense new meat was around and wanted have it for themselves, with how they instantly came up to him.

"Hey you! You wanna join my Familia?!"

"No, join mine?!"

"Hey, assholes! I was here first! He's joining me!"

"No! Me!"

"Me-?!"

"Wait?! Where did he go?"

As they heard that, they looked around and noticed Bell gone without a trace and started to

find him like a manhunt was happening. All the while, Bell was on one of the roofs, hiding as he sighed from the sudden predicament he was in.

"There goes silently making my way downtown..." He jumped down to the ground, accidentally scaring another person and making them fall to the ground.

"Ah! My apologies! I didn't mean to scare you." Bell exclaimed holding his hand out before pausing when he noticed who bumped into a girl, a prum girl.

"It's alright... Just look where you're going next time..." The prum girl muttered and trailed off at the end, when she saw the katana at Bell's waist.

'That looks expensive.. but I don't think I will be able to grab it off this guy." The prum thought to herself, noticing that Bell was more than meets the eye from how he carried himself. Bell seemed to relaxed that the girl didn't seemed too mad at him and tried introducing himself.

"My name is Bell. What might yours be young Lady?" He said, while the girl looked weirdly at him for his speech, though she thought he was from somewhere far and that was just how the people spoke where he came from. She was about to answer, but then they heard this and the sound of a horde running towards them.

"There he is! Come here kid and join my Familia!" "No mine!" "No mine?!"

A plethora of deities could be seen running at him, trying to plead him to join one of them. Panicked, Bell ran immediately but before he did, he apologized to the girl again.

"Oro! Looks like I have to go now! Take care now miss!" With that, he ran away as fast as he could from the hoard of deities, leaving the girl flabbergasted and bewildered at what had just happened.

"Now that... was weird."

Meanwhile

Bell managed to get away yet again by hiding in the Guild toilet by accident. By accident, meaning he found where he needed to go while he was getting chased at. He heaved out a sigh as he got out of the toilet and saw that everyone that was chasing was gone.

He figured that since he was here already, he better register himself as an adventurer and also get info on the Familia he can join. He went up to the counter where he saw a female half elf working the counter.

He rang the bell and the woman looked up to him and smiled. He thought to himself she was quite pretty and seemed to be the responsible type.

"Hello there! What can I do for you? My name is Eina." Eina said to Bell, which he said, "My name is Bell Cranel, and I'm new here in Orario. I was wondering if I can get a list of Familias I can join and register myself as adventurer?".

Eina looked surprised for a minute for some reason and asked him, "Aren't you a bit young to be an adventurer?", to which he replied confused, "Oro? Im 17 years old."

Eina looked shocked and apologized, "Oh! I'm sorry, you look younger than I thought. Your height made it even more believable..." she apologized and muttered the last part to herself quietly, but Bell heard her with his level 3 senses. Bell felt a bit irked, though didn't show it outwardly as he knew that he was on the shorter side of the stick, but he thought he wasn't that short to be considered a kid still.

"Hahaha... I know I'm a bit on the short side, but I know I'm not that short." He said to her smiling, while in his head he thought, 'I'm only 165, I'm not that short!". Eina looked embarassed and decided to continue on with the registration process, which didn't take long and gave him a list of Familias that were popular and recommended for him, along with a starter kit for new adventurers, that came with 2 potions, Guild-Issued light armour and a katana, which Bell chosed when asked what he wanted to use.

"Will that be all, Cranel-san?"

"Umm... Can you give me some info about the Dungeon? Like some classes, since I'm not from around here and don't know much.." Bell trailed off, not noticing the gleam in Eina's eyes that the other Guild workers noticed and sweatdropped.

"That kid just signed a trip to the void..."

"I pray for his soul..."

"Eina, go easy on him..."

The words of the others did not reach the half elf, as she dragged Bell by is arm into a nearby classrooms to begin her famous "Hell" classes. The other Guild workers only prayed for the sanity to be intact.

5 Hours later

Bell came out the Guild exhausted and burned out. Apparently, Eina had lessons for her adventurers that were under her care, but they were strict and was very difficult test were given. Luckily, Bell managed to answer the questions just barely and managed to satisfy her with what he had learned. Now, he was looking for a Familia that would fit right with him and take him in.

At first, he thought about the offers of those deities that chased but decided against it, since it felt like they wouldn't be the right fit for him. He decided to try the top first, meaning the Loki and Freya Familia but before he could, his stomach started growling. He placed his hand on his stomach and realised he hasn't eaten since he arrived here. 'I guess food is the first priority, and then we find a new home.' he thought to himself as he finds something to eat.

He walked around the city, looking at the vendors for anything that looked good for his tastebuds until he found a stand that said Jagamarukun and decided to give it a try. He came up to the stand to see a petite, but well-endowed young woman that exuded the aura of divinity, with a smile on her face.

"Hello! What would you like today?" she exclaimed.

"I would like to try one Jagamarukun. It's my first time here, so I'll just take whatever you recommend." Bell said, as she nodded her head and got the Jagamarukun ready for him. She wrapped it and gave it to him.

"Here you go! One fresh Azuki flavoured Jagamarukun! It's our store's best seller!" The goddess exclaimed, as Bell took the treat and looked at it for a second. It looked like nice and he took a bite. Bell gasped at the flavour of the treat and looked at the goddess, who had a smug smile on her face.

"This is delicious, I must say." Bell exclaimed.

"You bet your white hair it is! It's the best in the entire city! Now, that would be 80 valis, please!" The goddess exclaimed proudly, before asking for him to pay, which he gladly did and step out of the line. Before he could get far, the goddess called to him.

"Wait! Are you looking for a Familia?" She asked, somewhat desperately.

"Actually, I am. Why do you ask, Lady..." He trailed off, not knowing the goddess's name.

"Hestia! My name is Hestia, Goddess of Hearth! Would you like to join my Famila?! I promise we have a place to live, I can work time here for any of our expenses, I would even-?!"

"Sure, I would like to join, Lady Hestia." Bell answered nonchalantly and smiling, while eating bite of his Jagamarukun.

"And I could- Wait, really?!" She exclaimed in disbelief, while the onlookers looked in surprise and disbelief that someone finally accepted Hestia's offer.

"Oro, I would love to join. I have nowhere to go here if I'm allowed to be honest, so having a Familia that at least has a roof over my head is greatly appreciated." Bell smiled, confused on why people were looking at him like he was weird, while Hestia looked ready to ball out tears. Suddenly, she jumped from behind the stall and tackled him into a bear hug.

"Yes, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! I promise I will be a good patron deity and not let you down!" Hestia babbled, as she profusely thanked him for joining her Familia. While Bell himself was just confused, and slowly patted her head to calm her down.

"Oro... I'm sure you won't??" He said perplexed.

That evening

Bell and Hestia were walking back to Hestia's home, after she finished her shift at the Jagamarukun vendor. Apparently, Hestia has asked nearly every customer that came there to join her Familia, but no one would join because she was new and poor. So, him joining was a big shock for her, and she was excited to finally have someone under her banner, though since she was new she didn't really have one.

When they arrived at the home, Bell took in the look and could see why most didn't want to join. It was mainly because the home was an abandoned church, that Hestia got from Hephaestus after kicking her out for freeloading off her. Underneath the church, there was a large basement that could fit a few people. It was well-maintained for the most part, possibly from Hestia's own hardwork, but it had a homely feeling that made Bell right at home for some reason.

'I guess being the goddess of Hearth really makes things feel like home..' he thought to himself, as he sat down on one of the chairs while Hestia sat on the coach.

"So... tell me about yourself, Bell. I want to know where you're from and what you did before coming here." she asked him cheerfully, wanting to get to know her new follower, which made him smile but his fingers twitched slightly in response. Luckily, she didn't noticed this and instead focused her attention on seeing his facial reactions.

"Well... my name is Bell Cranel, as you know. I'm 17 years old and was originally from the Far East and-"

"Wait, the Far East? But your name doesn't sound like anything from there." Hestia questioned, as she knew that people of the Far East had very different naming sense than most. Also, Take always took the chance to ramble about the Far East and its culture whenever they went out, especially when he was drunk.

"Well, I wasn't born there, but I moved there when I was a child. Eventually, I joined a Familia there, which specialized in protecting the Far East and its regions." Bell explained himself and continued his introduction, while Hestia noticed that he didn't tell the full truth about him coming to the Far East the way he did, but didn't comment about as maybe it was something too personal as of now.

"Woah! So you were in a Familia already before you came here? What was the name of the patron deity of your Familia?" Hestia asked curiously, as she wanted to know if Take knew who it was and asked him about it. Bell smiled but his hands tensed up when asked, which Hestia noticed and made her question why was he reacting like that.

"... The name of the patron deity I used to follow was Susanoo no Mikoto, which he told us to just call him Susanoo-sama." Bell said with undertone of tenseness that made Hestia worried for what kind of God was Susanoo to make Bell react that way. She, of course has heard of Susanoo, but she herself has never met the man in person. She would have ask Take about him since Bell didn't seem to want to explain more about it.

"I joined him when I was only 7 years old due to unforeseen circumtances, and I left the Familia and the Far East when I was 14. Despite that, he allowed me to keep my status and made it so transference to another Familia was possible if I found another during my travels." Bell further continued his introduction, while trying to avoid from spilling anything about what he does in the Familia and what relationship he had with Susanoo, but what from Hestia is hearing, they were closer than she thought if Susanoo allowed Bell to just leave with his status still branded on him with the possibility of transference. Most gods tend to want their children to themselves, no matter what and would take away their blessings if the child leaves.

"I see... so you're familiar with how a Familia is runned, is that correct?" Hestia asked instead of questioning for more answer about what he actually does for Susanoo, since it was obvious from his sword that he was a fighter and he said they protected the Far East and its regions, but she wanted to know if he was able to help run the Familia since they were still new. Bell hummed to himself for a second before answering.

"Hmm... I guess you can say I have experience in managing some parts like finances and some management aspects, but I mostly was a frontline fighter and didn't have to worry much about it back then." Bell said honestly, as he was used to doing errands, money keeping, quest and managing troops and squads, but he wasn't very versed in running the entire thing.

"If you are worried about that, I don't think you should be since we've just started and we don't have to worry much about finances with just the two of us at the moment, if I might say." Bell spoke out, which made Hestia relax herself a bit. Hestia got up and went up to Bell, holding her hand to him, much to his confusion.

"Well then, I say we've ourselves a Familia now with you as the first member, Bell-kun. Happy to have you on board!" Hestia exclaimed happily, as Bell looked somewhat confused for a minute before finally holding her hand, which allowed Hestia to pull him into a hug startling him before relaxing slightly at the friendly act.

Bell could only smile and said, "Happy to be aboard this Familia... Hestia-sama."

"Wow! Your clothes really hide alot of everything, huh..." Hestia remarked as she got on Bell's back. They were about to do re-blessing of Bell to become truly apart of the Hestia Familia. They were on the only bed in the entire home, with Bell without his Kimono on on his stomach with Hestia on his back, since according to her, 'This was more comfortable.'

Hestia pricked her finger with a needle and then dropped a bit of her blood onto Bell's back, which revealed his status that and the Susanoo Familia emblem, which was large sword in the center with flame-like marking around it. It then changed into the Hestia Familia emblem which was flame on an altar. Bell's status was then showed to Hestia, along with the memories he had during his journey after leaving the Susanoo Familia. She could have a peek at his memories during his time there, but she didn't because she wanted to hear it from his mouth instead peeking through his memories.

It was silent for awhile and then suddenly, Hestia plopped off of his back and sat on the nearby chair. Bell got up and put his Kimono back on, when he noticed Hestia's disbelieving stare as she read his status on the paper.

"Is there something wrong, if I may ask?" Bell asked worriedly, seeing Hestia's reaction at his status. Hestia snapped out of it and put on a smile of disbelief and handed him his status.

"Sorry... It's just that I knew you were stronger and have experience since you were in a Familai before this, but it's just... I didn't expect you were that strong!" Hestia muttered out at first, but then exclaimed in shock at the end. He took the status sheet and looked at it for himself.

Bell looked at his status in surprise, as it had been awhile since he had last looked at his stats. He noticed the obvious increase in all his stats, but took note that it was lower than he thought.

'Though, that might because I wasn't doing much fighting and there was no opponents that were strong enough for me to push my limits at the time.' he thought to himself, believing that was the reason for his growth.

He saw that Hestia was mumbling to herself, and felt worried.

"Hestia-sama, are you okay, if I may ask?" Bell asked in concern, which made Hestia snapped her head towards him. Seeing the concern in his eyes and face made her smile and shake her head.

"Don't worry, Bell-kun. I was just in shock about how strong my first child actually is, but it's fine really." Hestia reassured, which worked as Bell relaxed himself and straighthen himself.

"If you say so, Hestia-sama. If you need or ask me anything, I will be happy to obliged" Bell said, as he went to get his things settled at the home. Hestia followed him with her eyes, seeing ther first child doing his own things until he saw he had two katanas and asked about it.

"Hey, Bell-kun. I have to ask, why do you have two swords? Oh! Do you do some kind of 2 sword style fighting?!" Hestia asked excitedly, while imitating the movements she thought people did with two swords, which made him chuckle.

"No, no... I don't do 2 sword style, but it would be a nice skill to learn. One of the swords is one I got from the Guild as a starting weapon. I'm gonna use this for awhile, as I get money to buy a more stronger katana for the Dungeon." Bell explained, unsheathing the Guild Katana showing its shape edge to Hestia, who looked in amazement at the sight. Sure, it was a normal katana but she wouldn't know the quality of one from the other, since she wasn't a Swordsman and such.

"Then what's the other one for?"

Bell sheathes back the Guild katana and sets ot down, and pulls his actual katana out. He slowly pulls it out of the sheath, making Hestia lean in closer in suspense. Upon unsheathing it fully, Hestia was confused as it looked like a normal katana, until she noticed one key difference: the sharp cutting edge was on the back while the front was the blunt edge instead.

"The sharp is on the back, while the blunt is on the front? But wouldn't that..." Hestia trailed off, as she took note of the fatal flaw of such a blade. She might not be as knowledgeable as Hephaestus or Takemikazuchi in blades, but even she knew this kind of design would be impractical for slaying monsters and cutting through things.

"Yes, it would be hard for me to cut anything with this blade, even with my status, but that's the point." Bell remarked, confusing Hestia with what Bell was saying.

"I'm sorry what? What do you mean that's the point?" Hestia asked genuinely confused on why Bell would want a sword that would be hard to use for cutting anything. After all, that was the purpose if the sword to cut, slash and kill things, despite the latter being something she wasn't very on board with.

"This sword was made by one for the best smiths in my former Familia and the Far East. It's a reverse blade, the opposite of what a normal sword is, but for that reason I'm willing to wield it because I took a vow when I left the East..." Bell explained and revealed at the end his intentions for the sword. Hestia just looked at him intently, wondering what the vow was.

"What vow was it that you took?" She asked and he fell silent for a bit before moving to sheathe back the reverse blade into his scabbard, and he looked straight at her face with a serious expression that scared her slightly and declared,

"... I vowed I would never kill again."

Elsewhere

A mirror could be seen being held by a feminine hand, watching through the mirror as it showed a Bell Cranel just wondering around the city in the early morning. The figure sipped some wine from her glass as she took in Bell's features and saw beyond that. Her eyes gleamed violet and through it shows how she perceived everyone, most importantly how she perceived Bell.

In her eyes, Bell was like a dark and bloody coloured veil that would normally disinterest her, but she looked beyond and saw the transparency below that veil. She saw how it struggled to shine from the dark bloody veil that clash beautifully around it and against it, but it continued to try, never stopping and giving in to the darkness. When he met Hestia and was brought back to her home, she noticed the veil slowly fading, but not completely, allowing the transparent light to glow more beautifully than ever.

She was intrigued, she was fascinated, but more importantly she desired to see more of that transparency and beautiful clash of colours. She wanted this interesting phenomenon for herself. She wanted Bell for herself, but she knew she had to wait her time. She had to wait for him to shine more brighter, to clash his colours together to see which will prevail over his soul.

She took another sip of her wine and placed it on an expensive-looking table, and snapped her fingers.

"Ottar" she called out. From behind, a large boaz man came out of the shadows, and approached the woman, who held an air of beauty, power and divinity that seemed unrivaled. He bowed to her.

"What may my services be of use to you, Freya-sama?" Ottar spoke, his voice deep yet held respect and dedication towards his goddess, who smiled at him beautifully.

"Keep an eye out for this one. He's someone that could be fascinating to watch over for the time being, but for him to shine more, ready some obstacles for him to overcome and get some info on him, as much as you can." Freya said, her words laced in adoration and honey. Ottar raised his head and asked her one question.

"How would I test this boy, Freya-sama?"

"Do whatever you think is best for him. I will allow you to be the judge of his abilities. You can take your time and report anything that may be of interest." Freya got up and walked up to the tall boaz, and caressed his cheek adoringly.

"I know you will not fail me, my dear Ottar. Oh and don't say a thing about this to the other members. You know how they can be." Freya remarked at the end, slightly embarassed for her own children. Ottar nodded and stood up.

"I understand. I will be off then, Freya-sama." He said before leaving the room, as Freya looked out her window to see the view of Orario below her.

"This will be so much fun." she murmured to herself, as she started to giggle melodically, thinking back to Bell. Now if only she can get his name.

Now that's a wrap for this chapter! Hope it was enjoyable and managed to peak your interest. Bell's former familia has been revealed and lies more mystery to what kind of person Bell was back then, and why he is like this now.

So, before anything I should say that the first few chapters are going to be just Bell getting used to Orario, so like 2 to 3 chapters. Maybe I'll dumb it down to one, who knows. So don't expect any big plot stuff in the beginning.

Secondly, yeah Bell is like Himura Kenshin in a way with his vow to not kill and reverse blade, but he will different in the fact he will be more pressured to kill, since the Danmachi world is quite harsh and filled with very twisted individuals that deserve to die [cough Phyrne cough]. And also his personality is not the same as Kenshin in Canon.

Look forward to the next chapter and leave a review. Bye-bye!
