I came up with this idea while showering and thought it was good. Plus, it's good practice for me. I'm going with the pure good ending: a Bioshock 2 crossover with MGE. I don't own either franchise. It's a possible one-shot, but if you want more, this will be a small priority for me. So, expect an update once or twice a month if you want more.
"The bombs, father, we're falling. RUN!" Delta and his adopted daughter made a run for the lifeboat as bombs exploded in the distance. But as they rounded the corner, Delta's eyes widened as there was a pile of ticking bombs in front of him. Trying to stop at the last second, Delta saw his daughter turn and reach out for him. But the bombs went off, and he saw his daughter disappear at the last second. But he didn't mind dying here. His daughter was safe; that's all that matters.
But Delta was unaware of a gray portal that opened behind him, forcibly pulling him in before the bombs could harm him. When he landed on the floor, he was still underwater. But he was exhausted; he stayed there and closed his eyes.
When Delta awoke, light shone through his helmet. Raising his hand to shield his eyes, Delta rose from the seabed... wait? If he was seeing light, then that meant he was close to the surface. Looking up again, Delta confirmed there was light. But it wasn't light from the underwater city, no. It was genuine sunlight. Spotting a path leading upwards to the surface and made his way towards it.
Rising out of the water, Delta saw where he was. His eyes widened at what he saw: a beautiful green forest where birds were chirping, and nature was flourishing. Delta admired the scenery until he remembered something important: Where's Eleanor? In a panic, Delta began looking around the area and calling out to his daughter as best as possible. But with his voice augmentation, Delta could only produce a loud shrieking groans. Then he remembered the tonic his daughter gave him. Pulling out a glowing purple polyp, Delta threw it and waited. But when nothing happened, Delta began to panic. He would've thrown another polyp if it wasn't so expensive on his EVE reserves.
Feeling uncertain about his next move, Delta ventured into the forest, hoping to discover something to aid him. As he walked aimlessly in the woods, Delta began thinking about how he got there. Did Eleanor teleport him here by accident? No, it's impossible; she hasn't seen the surface before. So, how? He continued to walk while pondering this question that would never be answered.
As he walked, Delta heard the screams of a child. Without wasting any time, he began sprinting towards the scream's source. As he closed in, he heard the voices of a few people, one woman and two males.
"The man sired a child with the monster! And they're being protected by a boy." Yelled out a male voice.
"Then kill the child and the beast. It'll show those mamono lovers to mate and protect these creatures." Said the female voice.
As Delta rounded the corner of a tree, he spotted three people surrounding two children—one a little boy and the other a little girl with strange ears, arms, and legs. The trio wore strange armor or, in the woman's case, none. But seeing as they were about to hurt the children, he didn't hesitate to protect them. Equipping his drill (which instantly got covered in ice), he Charged them with his drill. As Delta charged, his scream alerted the trio. But it was too late for one of them to react to his charge.
Delta impaled the man with his drill and lifted him off the ground; he then began spinning his drill. The man let out a blood-curdling scream as the drill shredded his organs. Delta swung him off his drill before looking at the other two adversaries.
"M-monster!" Said the woman holding a wooden staff. But the male beside her snapped out of his shock before shouting at him.
"How dare you kill a hero of the Order beast. I'll put you down myself and make your corpse rot like the rest of the monster filth." He then charged Delta with his sword. Delta swung his drill at him, which they ducked under, and swung their sword at his back. Delta let out a grunt before quickly swinging his drill at him again. It connected and froze the man instantly; Delta quickly swung his drill again, shattering him into frozen chunks of flesh and armor.
As he finished the man, Delta heard the screams of one of the children. Turning to face where the child was screaming, Delta froze before his blood began to boil in anger. The woman was holding the boy and had a knife placed under his throat.
"D-don't move, or I swear I'll cut this brat's neck wide open!" Threaten the woman. Her voice was full of fear, most likely at seeing how easily Delta dispatched her allies. But seeing that the boy was in trouble, Delta took out his Rivet gun and carefully aimed it at the woman's head. "I said don't move! Are you deaf, you dumb piece of shi-" the woman's voice was instantly cut off, and her head snapped back as the rivet hit her square in the forehead.
The boy fell down and scampered away as the woman's body fell down onto the floor, lifeless. The little girl quickly approached the boy to check if he was injured, and Delta slowly approached them. The boy, noticing Delta's approach, stood up and pushed the girl behind him. The girl reacted as well, hiding behind the boy. The boy gave Delta a fierce look but was obviously afraid of him.
So Delta unequipped his drill and knelt down to the boy's height. Slowly, he extended his hand outward and let out a low groan. The boy, unsure, only moved back a bit, still afraid of Delta. But as Delta stayed in the same position, the girl behind the boy approached Delta.
"What are you doing?" The boy instantly grabbed the girl, saying, "We don't know what the thing is. What if it wants to hurt us?"
"But it hasn't yet. What if it was only trying to protect us?" Argued the girl.
"Well, uh, what if it's pretending!?" Said the boy, flushing a bit. But the girl didn't relent as she approached Delta and grasped his hand. Delta then softly closed his hand around hers. Delta then stood up but hunched down a bit to still be able to hold her hand.
"See, they're friendly." Said the girl, smiling at her friend. The boy only grumbled and crossed his arms while pouting.
"But what if they weren't." Was his only response.
"But he was." Said the girl. Having nothing to argue back with, the boy just admitted defeat.
A day had passed since Delta saved those two children, and he was happy to be able to see the night sky again. But one thing that was constantly on his mind was the girl's appearance. She had a tail, furry arms, and legs but paws for hands and feet. Plus, she also had a pair of cat ears, but when Delta tried to pull them to see if they were fake. Well, it didn't end well. But the little girl forgave him as long as he stroked them softly, which he did.
The trio were walking, well mostly Delta, as the two children decided to ride on his back. But he didn't mind.
"Hey, I see some smoke over there! A village must be nearby," the boy exclaimed happily. Looking up, Delta, too, saw the white smoke in the air. Excitedly, the two children hopped off his shoulders and began running forward.
"Race you to the village! The last one is a rotten egg!" Said the cat girl as she began running towards the village on all fours.
"Hey, no fair, Ellie, you're faster than me!" Yelled the boy as he ran after the now-named Ellie. Delta hastened to catch up, not wanting them out of his view. As Delta caught up, he saw both of them at the entrance to the village. The girl smirked as she celebrated her victory while the boy panted heavily. "It ain't fair you're part cat; of course, you're gonna be faster."
"Nya-haha, You just suck, Pete. OW!" Delta, having none of that, decided to bonk her head with his hand. "What was that for?" She said, rubbing her head. Delta only waved his finger in a no motion and then pointed to the now-named Pete. The little cat girl understood what he was trying to say before she grumbly apologized to the boy. "Fiiine, sorry for saying that you sucked... even though you do. OW!"
Pete laughed at her pain before Delta gave him a look, and he quickly shut up. As the trio entered the village, Ellie continued to hold her head in pain. "You didn't have to hit me so hard," complained the girl, giving him a pout. "If you want me to forgive you, you'll have to give me plenty of ear rubs!" She said, pointing at Delta. But Delta only gave her a stern look (Well, as much as someone can in a diving suit), instantly making her falter. "Uh, never mind, sorry."
Delta looked at the villagers and was surprised by what he saw. There were many women, but most had either animal bodies or horns, and one was childlike but had tiny wings. Delta couldn't help but stare at a few of them, and at the same time, many of the villagers couldn't help but stare at Delta as well. However, one thing Delta has to admit is that many of these women were unbelievably attractive. As they continued to walk on, one of the children stopped him.
"Hey, mister drill man." called out Pete.
'Mister drill man?' Thought Delta, looking at the boy to see what he wanted.
"Can we get some food?" Turning to look where Pete was pointing, he saw a sign. The sign had an image of bread and a bowl with steam coming out. Delta nodded, thinking getting some food would be a good idea. They both cheered before entering, and Delta followed suit.
As they entered, the two children instantly chose a place to sit and waited for Delta to join them. Delta took his time admiring the place; it looked nearly similar to the bars Delta had seen in rapture. But rather than decaying floors and leaking seawater. It has clean wooden floors and tables filled with people gossiping or eating. Or, in this case, staring at Delta. Ignoring them, Delta went over to where the children were sitting. But taking a quick look at the wooden chairs, Delta thought it best to stay standing.
Soon, a waiter came up to them to take their order. "Hello there, what would you all like?" She said nervously, mostly due to her fear of Delta, and his high over her wasn't helping. As the kids asked what they had, the woman listed their options. Soon, the two children ordered their food, as did Delta. But after pointing to one of the foods being served to another person-animal-hybrid?
"O-ok th-that'll be 12 silver."
'Hmm, the currency is also different here.' Thought Delta. Thankfully, Delta looted the two corpses and obtained some of their currency. So, paying the waiter, they excused themselves before heading into the back.
As they waited, the children began playing with each other. But Delta surveyed the other occupants and studied their features. There was a lizard woman, a goat woman, a furred woman, and a snake woman in this place. But there were also a few men eating with them. The only normal woman was the waiter, and Delta didn't see any strange features on her.
Did people also begin experimenting on other people on the surface? Why were there so many half-human, half-animal hybrids? Delta didn't have time to ponder this as the waiter returned with their meals.
"Enjoy!" She said hurriedly before scrambling behind the counter. Now that he noticed, Delta also saw a few people peeking from the kitchen. The two children didn't hesitate to dig into their meals, and Delta thought he might as well. Reaching for his helmet, Delta reached for its latches and released it. The helmet made a quick hiss, making the two children stop eating and focus on him, including the other occupants.
As Delta removed his helmet, there were some audible gasps as Delta's face was now in full view. A part of his hair was still left on his head, but there was a visible bullet hole on the side of his head. His face was slightly disfigured and heavily scarred by the voicebox surgery and many others. Overall, Delta looked like a man who's been through hell and made it out alive. If barely.
As Delta was about to pick up his plate, Ellie grabbed his hand. Looking at her, Ellie had a look of her in her eyes before she got up and hugged Delta. The same thing happened with Pete; he hugged Delta.
"Bad people hurt you, didn't they?" Ellie sniffled a bit before looking up to his eyes. Delta only smiled at her before patting her head, but nonetheless, he nodded. They held that hug briefly before Delta pried them off and pointed to their food. Knowing what he meant, they returned to their seats and began eating again. But the mood was now a bit solemn, knowing that the man who saved them had been through hell. And yet still had the heart to be kind to them.
Alright there we go, I was planning on making this 5k words but quickly decied to leave it here for now. But if you want more of this then leave a review and tell me. But like I said at the beginning this will be a small priority so that I don't over work myself with stories.
