This chapter is based off of "Operation: C.A.K.E.D." (just like the other stories in this series being based off the episodes of the same names), the first episode of Codename: Kids Next Door to be produced (but the seventeenth to air; some episodes are aired out of production order, which I'll tell you about when they come up), the first in the C.A.K.E.D. saga, and the debut of the Delightful Children From Down The Lane (or the Delightful Children or the DCFDTL for short). It's kind of the transition from "No P in the Ool" to the main series; retaining a few elements like the yellowish sky, the seven-minute length, Sector V being the only sector, and to some extent the long necks and bumbling antics of Sector V (though Numbuhs 1, 4, and 5 are starting to settle into their more well-known characterizations). Plus, the beeping sound is slightly different from other episodes, and Willie is called "Willow" by the DCFDTL rather than Willamina (although I also use "Willamina" and "Willie" here) just like Wally was called "Wallace" rather than Wallabee. Like I said in the previous story, it's included on an episode of the show with "Diseasy Does It! Or Chimp -n- Pox" and "No P in the Ool" that you can watch on various platforms. I also got the names for the genderbent DCFDTL (except Alexander) from a user nicknamed "Ben" on Amino and the appearances to some degree from a DeviantArt picture by MysteryCorner (see the URLs for that picture and the Amino page with these names at the end of this chapter), and I made up the character Larry Limpin myself. All that being said, let's get it started!

A mansion stood majestically in the middle of a huge estate, reaching five stories (and several spires on the topmost roof) upward to the sky. The building was painted orange, white, and blue with huge streamers all around the first story's roof; and it had eight domes (two pointed ones on the front on the second story's roofs, and four more pointed ones as well as two hemispheric ones on the fourth story's roofs), windows in several shapes and sizes all over, four balconies on the second story (one in the center on each side), pillars holding up the entryway roof and the one for the front balcony, several stone chimnies, and fence-like decorations on the roof. Surrounding it were an expanse of green grass; a forest of trees; a gazebo with a similar color scheme and a conical dome for a roof on the left side; a hedge maze on the right; a lake on the back side, a path leading toward, around, and behind the mansion with a bridge leading over the lake; and a fence surrounding the entire estate. The decorations were very elaborate and eye-catching, but there was something sinister afoot inside.

Inside the dining room, which had gray walls and red curtains on its white-trimmed windows, a big birthday party was happening for not one, not two, not three or four, but five special children-three girls named Blair, Daisy, and Lyla, and two boys named Alexander and Cooper. They were the Delightful Children From Down the Lane, and they all wore school uniforms-the girls wore white short-sleeved dresses with light sky blue stripes across the sleeves and waists, light sky blue scarves around their necks, pink tube socks, and white Mary Janes; while the boys wore blue blazers, white dress shirts, red neckties, blue shorts, blue tube socks, and tan dress shoes-and they all had perfectly brushed and combed hair. Plus, Blair wore her blonde hair in two short pigtails tied with black hair ties, Daisy was the tallest and wore a pink bow in her light brown hair, Alexander had short dirty blond hair, Lyla wore a hat with cat ears that almost completely obscured her face in shade and had braces that looked like they orbited her mouth, and Cooper was the shortest and fattest and had slightly long brown hair slicked back on top of his head.

Surrounding them were dozens of unhappy guests, who wanted to taste the three-layered cake at the DCFDTL's end of the table (which looked appetizing with its white frosting with blue lining and decorations in red, green, and yellow; and the five blazing candles at the top beckoning them to come and lose their minds in an adventure in a world of sweet appetite) but were forbidden from doing so until they finished singing the special birthday song, or so they were told. They sat straight up at the table, their tummies growling and their hearts sinking, as they droned on and on in sad monotone voices:

"Happy birthday,
It's your birthday,
Happy birthday,
Not our birthday,
Happy birthday,
Birthday...hooray..."

"Splendid," said the DCFDTL in unison, opening their eyes, which were really pale sky blue and devoid of pupils. "Now while I eat our cake, you may sing it..." they grinned evilly, "again!"

The guests all groaned miserably, crestfallen at having been deceived. "Happy birthd..." they began again, but they were interrupted. The windows at either side of the grand front door were shattered, and two darts with mustard bottles flew inside the room, one through each window. They landed not far from the table and the blue carpet leading up to it, releasing stuffed skunk tails and a very foul stench that spread across the room, sending the panicked guests fleeing and making the DCFDTL look around at them. In the chaos, Willamina "Willie" Beetles/Numbuh 4 jumped in through another wearing a gas mask made of various household materials including sunglasses, jars, cloth, a strainer, and a bucket handle, revealing herself as the one who had launched these darts. Three of the guests looked at her mask, screaming and running away.

Kenji Sanban/Numbuh 3 (who wore a similar mask) came in through the chimney, doing a combat roll while he threw two more of these dart stink bombs on the floor, releasing some more of that stench, sending these same guests in a different direction, and stopping three more in their tracks. They looked up at an opening in the roof. A dropper pod went through the roof, shattering the window and revealing Alberto Lincoln/Numbuh 5 (also wearing a mask), who made a cool action pose and ran off to help spread the smell; while Hillary Gilligan/Numbuh 2 (who was also wearing a gas mask) tried to swing in by breaking the nearby window (with a Tarzan yell) and slammed against it instead, sliding down the glass. Three more guests ran past that window as another stink bomb bounced off the table and continued spreading the skunk smell.

As soon as all the guests had gotten out, Numbuhs 3-5 jumped toward the front door, facing the DCFDTL from the opposite side of the table. As they stood in their poses, the door opened, revealing Nicole Uno/Numbuh 1, who briskly walked inside with an authoritative air surrounding her. "Status report, Numbuh 5?" she asked as Numbuhs 3-5 removed their masks and Numbuh 3 put on a red party hat.

Numbuh 5 joined her and replied, "As per Operation: C.A.K.E.D., party guests evacuated, cake located, and party clown neutralized," as Numbuh 2, who had also removed her mask, tried to talk to the others through the window.

The party clown was chained to the floor by her neck and her legs. She tipped and touched her hat, which made a honking sound, at Numbuh 5's word.

"Excellent, prepare the cake for transport back to headquarters, while I have a word with..." Numbuh 1 said, walking to the opposite end of the table from the DCFDTL, "the Delightful Children From Down The Lane."

"Well, if it isn't the Kids Next Door," said the DCFDTL, staring at Numbuh 1, "have you arrived to abscond with my birthday cake like you do every year?"

"Precisely!" Numbuh 1 said in a commanding tone of voice. "It's better than watching you spoiled snobs eat it by yourselves, so let's do it the easy way: hand over the cake, and we'll be on our way."

"But we were just about to play some party games! Please stay," said the eerie blue-eyed children. The whole place locked down at their command, an iron plate sliding in place of the front doors (scaring Numbuhs 3 and 4), iron bars descended upon the windows (catching Numbuh 5's attention and throwing Numbuh 2 back as she tried to climb through one of them), and another iron plate closed off the fireplace. "We insist."

"It's always the hard way with you goody-goody little creeps, isn't it?" Numbuh 1 shot back, snapping her fingers at Numbuh 4 and stepping aside. "Numbuh 4?"

"Right!" Numbuh 4 replied, jumping onto the table and threateningly advancing upon the DCFDTL. "First, I'm gonna clean your adult-loving prissy little clocks, and then we'll be taking that cake!" she yelled, rolling up her sleeves.

"No party games, Willow?" the DCFDTL said as Willie prepared to punch them. She stopped as they said the name Willow. "You wouldn't want to disappoint our friend Larry, would you?" the five school uniform-wearing children continued, referring to a sweet-looking little boy standing to their left.

Larry wore red-rimmed glasses, a yellow T-shirt, a pair of red overalls, and a pair of white tennis shoes. He also had brown skin, dark brown hair, and protruding buckteeth. As he looked sweetly at Numbuh 4, he excitedly proclaimed, "I got invited to a birthday party!"

"Beat it, squirt!" Numbuh 4 shouted, pushing Larry to the ground and rolling up her sleeves again. "I got no time for no party games!"

"No...party...games?" Larry asked woefully as Numbuh 4 continued lecturing at him. A strange condition he had was triggered, which made his eyes spring open as he closed them and tried to resist, the frames of her glasses twisting with her eyes. "But...I...love...party...games!" he strained, trying to control his mouth and hold it open.

The DCFDTL grinned smugly at Numbuh 4. "Oh, did I forget to mention Larry's little...condition?" they asked, turning to Larry still struggling to stop the beast from emerging from him. His eyes went yellow and pimples started popping all over his face as he grew taller and fatter. "Meet...the Big Badolescent."

The Big Badolescent reached his full height and girth; more pimples appearing on his nose and forehead; and a red wrestling bodysuit with a huge yellow letter A on the front, some yellow gloves, a belt, and a pair of white boots. Numbuh 4 froze as he looked at her, ready to destroy her in combat. "ME...WANT...PARTY GAMES...NOW!" he said, pummeling her with his fists, repeating the last word several times, breaking the table, and launching the cake in the air.

The other Numbuhs watched in horror as this happened. "What do you say to playing some party games..." the DCFDTL asked them with fake sweetness in their voices as Blair and Cooper caught the cake with their hands, "now?"

"Fine," an annoyed Numbuh 1 responded, looking away and crossing her arms. "We'll play your little party games, for now."

"As a matter of fact, we're about to break open the greatest piñata ever," the DCFDTL responded.

Hearing this, the Big Badolescent stopped pummeling Numbuh 4 (who was flailing her arms around) and smiled excitedly, yelling out, "YAY! PARTY GAME TIME!" before having another allergic reaction and trying to stop it. This time, he shrunk down, lost the pimples on his face, and turned back into Larry, whose face landed on the ground.

Numbuh 4 groaned and rubbed her head, trying to recover from the pain, but before she could finish, Larry popped up from the destroyed table and excitedly said, "Come on! Let's go to the game room!," dragging her by her hood and dragging her there. Numbuhs 1, 3, and 5 looked on while this happened.

In the game room, the mission started to drag on to the point of annoying several KND members. Larry was jumping up and down waving his arms and shouting, "Greatest piñata ever! Greatest piñata ever!" while Numbuhs 4 and 5 looked on annoyed (the former still rubbing her head), Numbuh 2 was cutting through one of the windows' iron bars with a comb coated in strong metal, the DCFDTL were blindfolding Numbuh 3, and Numbuh 1 was hanging upside down in the piñata (which was pink and shaped like a star) with her head sticking out of the bottom. "I've seen better," she grumbled as the DCFDTL were giving Kenji a baseball bat and instructing, "Now remember, Kenji dear: the harder you swing, the more candy you get."

"Candy!" he yelled excitedly, swinging the bat around wildly and accidentally hitting Numbuh 5, which sent him flying toward the wall. He then jumped high and landed near Numbuh 4, hitting her by accident and knocking her toward the floor. "Candy!" he screamed again, as Numbuh 1 looked on horrified.

"No! Numbuh 3! Don't..." she began to shout, but it was too late. Numbuh 3 turned his attention toward Numbuh 1, repeatedly hitting her in the face, screaming "Candy!" with each swing, and sending the piñata swinging from its rope, laser-focused on getting his candy. "Ugh! No! You're hittin..." she yelled, her sunglasses hanging from her ear, but she was hit again. "Ugh! Stop! You got to..." but Numbuh 3 didn't stop and kept hitting her. "Stop!" she finally yelled, her sunglasses having fallen off, and Numbuh 3 started removing his blindfold.

"How'd I do? How'd I do?" he asked, looking around.

Larry saw this and started having another reaction, straining to contain the Big Badolescent, while Numbuh 3 stood there oblivious to what was going on. While this was happening, the transformation was completing, with the Big Badolescent towering over him and threateningly growling at him. "NO PEEKING!" he yelled as he prepared to attack Numbuh 3, but the latter laughed nervously and stopped him with a cheerful "Your turn!," holding up the bat.

Meanwhile, Numbuhs 4 and 5 were recovering from Numbuh 3's hits, groaning and rubbing their heads as they got up, but little did they know that the Big Badolescent had picked up their teammate and was using him as a bat! The monstrous hulking teenage wrestler caught them off guard, swinging at Numbuhs 4 and 5, and sending them flying into the piñata, which cracked open and sent them all crashing to the ground (and the Big Badolescent and Numbuh 3) with the candy. The Big Badolescent got all giddy and excited at the aspect, quelling the beast's fury and transforming back into Larry, who sat on top of the pile and continually munched the candy like a woodchipper while the Kids Next Door (sans Numbuh 2, who was still trying to get inside the game room) were buried in the pile. "Isn't this great?" Larry said excitedly between mouthfuls. "I never get invited to parties!"

"That's a silly donkey!" Larry laughed as he looked at a big torn picture of a donkey on the wall. The numbuhs minus 2 were all pinned to the wall, their heads sticking out of the hole to look like the donkey's butt and some of their hands and/or feet sticking out of the edges. "It also makes silly sounds when you pin its tail on, so aim carefully," explained the DCFDTL.

"Uhhh...OK!" Larry said enthusiastically, grabbing a gun from the floor. It had a fat red barrel, a light cream-colored grip and trigger, a red front strap, a red-and-light-cream-colored scope, a red point sticking out of the muzzle, a fake donkey tail skewered onto that point, and a restlessness that made it refuse to stand still in Larry's hands as he tried to aim it at the donkey's butt.

While he was doing this, Numbuh 5 nervously looked at Larry and moving his head up and down. "Uh, Numbuh 1? You got a plan of attack or something?"

"Ahem. Larry, perhaps it's time we open the birthday presents," Numbuh 1 responded, looking at Larry. "In fact, why don't we start with the red one?"

"Birthday presents?" Larry responded cheerfully, dropping the gun and excitedly cheering as he ran toward the presents, leaving the Delightful Children shocked. "Red present? What red present?" they asked, their eyes wide.

Larry was already buried in the pile of presents, laughing happily as he looked for the red one Nicole had mentioned. He finally found it, holding it up and showing it to everyone as he popped out of the pile. "This one!" he said, showing it to the DCFDTL. "Open this red one first."

But the DCFDTL stared at him and said, "Wouldn't you prefer to open the gifts after our little game is finished?"

Larry was shocked and saddened at their words. "But I wanna open presents..." he began, trying to control his aggravated condition before he succumbed to it, "NOW!" The Big Badolescent took over him again, but before he could make Larry finish his transformation, Blair took the present and she and her companions said, "Fine, fine, we'll open it." They motioned Larry to defuse himself, saying, "Just stay calm," as Blair took the tag off the box. While Larry was returning to his normal self, they read the tag, "Kids Next Door, battle stations?"

With that, the KND broke out of the poster, with Numbuh 4 doing front handsprings toward the cake and Numbuh 3 jumping in the air. She took it off its cart, throwing it to Numbuh 3, who then threw it to Numbuh 5 with great force. Numbuh 5 did a front flip and caught it with his hand, throwing it to Numbuh 1, who finally caught it with her hand. In her other hand, she held a wooden remote control with two light switches, flicking the left one to the "on" position.

A great contraption arrived outside, finally getting its moment to shine. It eagerly stood over the mansion, ready to tear it apart with its massive knife blade suspended by two ropes below a wooden deck, which was in turn supported by two tall street lamps on a smaller piece of wood. On the deck stood a red-and-yellow Ferris wheel, awaiting its turn to go for a spin and enjoy its date with a third piece of rope around it, which suspended a gray car looking at the ground with its headlights. The enormous knife shined dangerously in the sunlight as it dropped upon the mansion like a guillotine's blade (yanking the car upward) and cut it cleanly in half like a head of lettuce (though not before Numbuhs 3 and 5 ran to the other end to join Numbuhs 1 and 4). As the knife made its way back upward, Numbuh 1 addressed the Delightful Children, "Well, it's been quite delightful," and then took out out the remote control again. "But our ride is here, and we must be on our way." She flipped the other switch.

Hundreds of hamsters stood by the front of the mansion with ropes tied to the topmost point on the front balcony, awaiting the signal to reach their headbands. Their antennas stood up as soon as they heard a beeping sound; and they began to run away with the front half of the mansion, the KND, the presents, and the cake in tow.

Inside the mansion, which was being pulled apart, Numbuh 1 looked back at the DCFDTL, held the cake in her hand, and shouted, "Thanks for the cake, but your party is over, Delightful Children From Down The Lane!" as Numbuh 3 waved back at them and the annoyed Numbuhs 4 and 5 stood on either side of Numbuh 1 with their arms crossed.

But that triggered something that they didn't expect. Larry, shocked and woeful at these words, said, "The party's over?," then he angrily screamed, "It can't be over!" and transformed into the Big Badolescent one more time (this time ripping his clothes). "ME NO LIKE BE OVER!"

He grabbed the KND's half of the mansion, holding it back and jerking it backward, which caused Numbuh 1 to fall and let go of the cake. The cake went flying toward the DCFDTL's half, with everyone except the Big Badolescent and the hamsters (who were struggling with all their might to win a game of tug-of-war for the front half of the mansion that was nearly impossible to win) watching it fly-including Numbuh 2 (who was trying to get into the mansion from another barred window) the chained-down clown. The pastry eventually landed on the big mean wrestler's head, shattering the plate into a million pieces and consuming him completely somehow as he let go of the floor. The KND's half kept moving forward as the operatives struggled to regain their balance and rid themselves of the awkward memories of this mission, while Larry (who had turned back to normal) popped out of the cake unharmed, screaming "Birthday cake!" excitedly, looking forward to eating his hard-earned slice(s). The KND cheered and waved goodbye to the others as they continued on their way, except Numbuh 2 who was running after the ride. "Guys! Hey, guys! Come on, wait up! I can't run that fast!" she said, struggling to keep up with the rest of her team.

As the KND, hamsters, presents, and their half of the mansion went further off into the distance, the DCFDTL furiously stared at their destroyed cake with Larry inside it. "That foolish boy foiled our plans. We never should have used him in the first place," they fumed, looking at each other.

But Larry, oblivious to what they were saying, took a taste of the frosting and discovered something he didn't like. "Next year, we'll get a giant lizard or something smarter than that stupid boy..." the DCFDTL continued, but they were cut off.

"Coconut?!" Larry said, shocked and angry. He began transforming into the Big Badolescent once more. "I HATE COCONUT!"

"Not in the face, not in the face!" the frightened DCFDTL pleaded, but the Big Badolescent proceeded to beat them up the same way he had done with Numbuh 4. The DCFDTL may have kept their cake, but the Big Badolescent ruined their chances of enjoying it, and furthermore this would be the start of the C.A.K.E.D. saga, each mission with varying results.

End Transmission

The next chapter is based off of "Operation: I.-S.C.R.E.A.M.," the first episode of the show to air and the fourth to be produced. I don't know if I can follow a specific posting schedule, but I'll get it up as soon as I can! Be on the lookout for when that happens!
