Dear Diary,
I saw that human girl again. I don't wanna come off as cruel, I just can't show weakness.
It was at Covention, right after Bump introduced Lillith as the mystery guest. She was walking on the show floor, her nose buried in a magazine, spouting some nonsense about being a "punky potionist" when she bumped into me. I instantly recognized her as Willow's little abomination thing, the one that got me in trouble with Principal Bump. She told me that she wasn't, in fact, one of them, but a human. Her name is Luz.
I must admit, I'm still a little surprised that a human ended up in our realm. I never thought I would end up seeing one in real life. Titan, I didn't even know there were ways to connect the two realms. But, I could never let her know that, she doesn't need to know. And I don't need to care.
Okay, back to what I was saying. She put out her hand to shake mine, like she wanted to be my friend or something. It's honestly really funny that she thinks I would want to even be in the same room as her after the chaos she pulled me into at school. It was my first time ever getting in trouble with Bump. For Ed and Em, it's a weekly occurrence, but for me... I have an image to keep up. After all, mom wants me to be "little miss perfect". I have to get into the Emperor's Coven. Speaking of mom, after her and dad heard about our little encounter, they made me stay in and study abomination anatomy and composition all weekend. I was supposed to hang out with Boscha and Skara, but they made me bail on them. Mom and dad thought I was stupid for thinking that Luz could possibly be an abomination. But that's the thing, I knew she wasn't. I knew she was different, I've never seen anything like her on the Isles before. That's normal for them though, mom thinking she always knows everything (a side effect of being an Oracle, I guess), and dad being too enthralled in his work projects to do anything but blindly agree with whatever mom says.
I think it's even funnier that Luz even had the gall to show up at Covention in the first place. She's magicless, next to useless in this world. I think the only thing more useless than her is a busted palisman. In my opinion, the only thing she's good for is being a target to practice new spells on. There is literally nothing that Covention can do for her, except show her what she's missing out on. But, she told me she's learning how to be a witch, and that she's getting taught by "a powerful witch and a ferocious demon".
PUH. LEASE!
If her mentor is so powerful, then why isn't she in a coven or teaching at Hexside? Or better yet, why isn't she in the Emperor's Coven like her sister? And that "ferocious demon" of hers was nothing but a pet. It looked like a dog with a skull hat on, not the king she it claimed to be. How in the name of Titan can Luz become a witch? She doesn't have a bile sack, or anything that grants her any magical ability. She thinks she's so fierce, but compared to me, she's nothing. She's less of a witch than Willow, if that's even possible.
But, I digress. Luz got a little too cocky, and decided to challenge me, of all witches, to a duel. I knew beating her wouldn't be a challenge, so of course I accepted. If I lose (which we both know isn't gonna happen), I had to admit that humans could learn how to be witches, and I had to apologize to her pet (I think his name was King) for stepping on his cupcake from the Baker's Coven. But, when I beat her, Luz has to admit to the entire Covention that she's not a witch, and has to stop her magic training forever. Of course, I had to seal her in an everlasting oath, just to make sure she keeps her word. If A Blight always has to uphold their end of the deal, then whoever they're making the deal with should have to as well.
Side note, she brought up Azura while she challenged me. I didn't know they had it in her realm, I always thought it was a Boiling Isles thing. It's my favorite book series of all time, I wonder if any new books have been released recently? Maybe I should do some research on human artifacts when I have some free time.
Wait, no. What am I saying? Focus, Amity, focus.
Anyways, I gotta go find Lillith. I want to get some training in with her before the duel. Not that I need a lot of help right now or anything, but it's always good to prep before a battle. Wish me luck! (Not that I need that either!)
Yours truly,
Amity
