Pokemon: Friends to the End
Chapter 1: Following A Maiden's Voyage
Sinnoh Region
(Location: Twinleaf Town)
A ten year old girl groaned as her hand appeared from underneath the pale blue blankets to shut off the alarm clock before pushing the blankets aside to sit up and yawn.
Two big windows suddenly opened to reveal a girl with dark blue hair that reached up to her back and tiffany blue eyes as she took a deep breath to let fresh air into her lungs and stared out the window before going through her closet to find an outfit.
The girl was Denise Berlitz.
Denise put on a cream yellow t-shirt, a deep pink skirt, white leggings, grey boots and a magenta bow scarf around her neck.
After brushing her hair, she put on two pink hair clips before going downstairs to see her mother making breakfast.
"Morning, Denise."Johanna greeted with a smile as she looked up from what she was making to see one of the twins up already. "Lovely to see you up early."
"Thanks, mum. Do you want me to go and wake up Dawn?"Denise asked as she sat down in a chair before hearing a slight groan as ringing sounded throughout the house. "Never mind."
A few minutes later, another dark blue haired girl with tiffany blue eyes wearing a sleeveless black shirt, a pink miniskirt, pink boots that almost reached her knees, black knee socks, a bracelet on her right wrist, a red scarf around her neck, two yellow hair clips and a pink pokeball hat came downstairs.
Dawn sat next to Denise, who was stuffing her face with sliced eggs, salad and toast.
"Morning, Dawn."Denise greeted while munching on her salad.
"Morning, Denise."Dawn responded with a smile and started eating. "Do you know what Pokemon you want from Professor Rowan?"
"Not yet."Denise replied as she nearly finished her salad. "All three of them are so cute. I'm sure any of them would make an awesome partner."
"Indeed, Dennie."Johanna giggled. "After all, you both have to choose between becoming a Trainer, Coordinator or a Breeder in order to go on a Pokémon journey."
"You're right, mum."Dawn agreed. "That's what we would do."
Dawn did different styles of the three Pokémon she might choose to use in contests signifying that her chosen path was Coordinator like their mother while her sister chose to be a Trainer and Coordinator since she has two dreams to make true.
"So what do you think of that?"Dawn asked as she bowed.
"Pretty unique by the imagination."Denise said smugly.
"You keep messing around, you won't catch any Pokémon, Dawn."Johanna reminded.
"You're right."Dawn chuckled. "Sorry, mum."
"But I should go with the Turtwig performance, it was quite entertaining."Denise thought.
"What a wonderful day to start a journey, do you two have everything packed?"Johanna asked.
"Sure do, mum."Denise assured.
Dawn went upstairs to get her bag.
Denise went to the counter to grab her pale green backpack that was styled with small magenta stars. Inside it contained full of some clothes, food, medicine, and some Pokémon stuff for her journey.
Dawn came downstairs with a huge bright pink suitcase.
"Oh what's all that?"Johanna asked.
"It's just my stuff, it's not like I packed the stuff I don't need."Dawn said.
Johanna opened the suitcase and picked up a black shirt.
"They're all clothes."Johanna commented.
"And some jewelry."Dawn added.
Denise sweat dropped. "Sis, do you even know what our journey is?"
"To become Pokémon trainers."Dawn answered.
"I think you might need a different bag."Johanna said and brought a yellow backpack.
"Aw...that's it?"Dawn complained as she picked it up.
"If you two want to become top trainers and smart travelers, then trust me."Johanna instructed.
"Okay, mum."Dawn and Denise said in unison.
"And one more thing."Johanna admitted.
Johanna then handed an orange Ribbon to Dawn and a light purple Ribbon to Denise.
"Mum, what are those?"Denise asked and looked at the purple Ribbon.
"Those are my first Contest Ribbons I ever won, I always carried them as good luck."Johanna explained. "Now I want you two to carry them."
"Really?"Dawn asked.
"Cool."Denise chuckled.
"As long as you two don't lose them."Johanna warned.
"Alright, mum."Dawn replied. "See you soon."
"We'll make sure to call you."Denise complemented.
Denise walked outside to her hot pink bike as Dawn hurried out behind her to her pink bike.
"Do you two know how to get there?"Johanna asked as she stood on the porch with her Glameow.
"We've got our post cards!"Dawn assured.
"And water bottles in case we get thirsty!"Denise added.
"Alright off we go."Dawn said confidently.
Dawn and Denise started their bikes.
"Now both you do your best and take care of yourselves."Johanna stated as she waved goodbye to her daughters.
Denise nodded. "Got it."
"Don't worry, mum."Dawn reminded.
Dawn accidentally made her bike hit a small rock which nearly unbalanced her.
"Dawn!"Johanna shouted.
Denise biked beside her twin sister as she regained her balance.
"I'm okay!"Dawn stated.
"I'll make sure she doesn't get into any trouble!"Denise called out.
"Hey!"Dawn complained.
Johanna sighed. "Every time Dawn tell me not to worry is when I worry the most."
Glameow purred with a smirk on her face.
The Twinleaf Twins arrived to Sandgem Town.
"I think this is the lab."Dawn complemented.
Denise stopped in front of a brown building, but one look at it and knew it wasn't the lab.
"Hey!"Dawn remarked happily. "We're here for our Pokémon!"
"You came to the right place, kids!"A voice sounded out.
This made Dawn look at who was talking before realizing where she was.
"You're eating too, aren't ya?"the man asked.
Dawn and Denise then rode around town on their bikes.
"Me and my directions!"Dawn cried.
"This is not the first time."Denise mumbled.
The sisters kept cycling around to find the lab, but to no avail.
Then the Twinleaf Girls started walking on foot as Dawn looked over the map on the postcard until Denise noticed someone in front of them.
"Dawn..."Denise warned.
Too late.
Dawn bumped into the man and started apologising repeatedly.
"Are you two lost?"the man asked.
"We're just trying to find the Pokemon Lab, sir."Dawn answered.
"Well, I might be able to help."the man responded.
Dawn became confused as Denise simply smiled.
"You're Professor Rowan, aren't you?"Denise asked with a smile.
A couple of minutes later, Professor Rowan and the sisters arrived at the lab.
However the windows suddenly shattered and saw a Starly, Staraptor, Chimchar and Piplup leave the lab through one of the windows.
The Professor and the two girls went inside and saw the incident that just happened.
The lab assistants immediately apologize to the Professor.
Turtwig was eating contently without knowing what just happened.
"We'll go out and search for the missing Pokemon."Dawn admitted.
"You would?"Professor Rowan asked.
"It might help us figure out which one we'll choose if we try to bond with them."Denise replied.
"Very well."Professor Rowan answered. "Good luck to you both."
Dawn and Denise went to the forest behind the Lab to search for the missing pokemon.
"That professor is a really nice guy."Dawn commented.
"More nicer than I thought."Denise agreed.
The two sisters started running to the trees and spotted Piplup using Bubble Beam on Chimchar, who kept dodging the attack by climbing to the next tree.
"Stop that, Piplup!"Dawn demanded.
Piplup looked at them and used Bubble Beam on the Twins, but they got out of the way.
"Knock it off!"Denise demanded with a angry look.
Chimchar and Piplup started running to the forest.
"Hey, you two wait up!"Dawn protested.
Dawn and Denise ran deeper into the forest, but lost sight of the two Pokémon.
"Chimchar! Piplup!"Denise called out. "Where are you guys?!"
The two sisters stopped running to catch their breaths.
"Where did they ran off?"Dawn asked.
Then the two sisters heard a familiar cry and they rushed where it came from.
There they saw Piplup trapped in a spiderweb with an Eevee and other wild Pokémon.
"Poor them..."Denise said worriedly.
"Hang on, you guys!"Dawn protested.
But then a blast came in front of their feet and saw a Ariados.
The two sisters started to be followed by the Ariados and a plan came to their mind as they went in front of the web.
"Piplup."Piplup whimpered in fright.
"Don't worry, Piplup."Dawn instructed giving the penguin pokemon a wink.
Denise smiled. "Won't be long now."
"Eev?"Eevee asked.
The Ariados fired a mud attack and the sisters jumped out of the way as the web got destroyed freeing the pokemon.
Piplup went on Dawn's arms and the wild Eevee jumped to Denise's.
"Don't worry, your both safe now."Dawn reassured.
"Piplup."Piplup said with a few tears in its eyes.
"Sorry, you guys got scared."Denise apologised.
The wild Eevee smiled gratefully.
"Eevee."Eevee remarked.
Suddenly, the two sisters accidentally slid down a hill and landed in a pile of bushes, luckily none of them got hurt.
Dawn and Denise stood up and walked away their bushes, while holding their Pokémon.
"Let's introduce ourselves."Dawn said and looked at Piplup. "I'm Dawn."
"And I'm her twin sister Denise, how do you do?"Denise asked.
"Eevee."the wild Eevee said with the smile.
Piplup started pecking Dawn's face.
"Ow, ow, ow!"Dawn groaned.
Piplup jumped off her arms.
"Piplup."Piplup chirped.
"Hey, you are the one, who was chasing Chimchar and you are the one, who got caught."Dawn stated firmly. "If I were you, I would be pretty embarrassed right now."
Piplup started crying and it's stomach started growling.
"Oh now I get it."Denise sneered with a smirk. "You're hungry. No wonder you were so grumpy."
Piplup blushed in embarrassment while Eevee giggled.
Dawn took out a small box the contained.
"Here, pokemon food."Dawn replied.
Piplup looked away and frowned.
"Huh? What do you mean no?"Dawn demanded and looked at Eevee. "Do you want some Eevee?"
Eevee sniffed at the food in Dawn's hand and ate it.
"Eevee."Eevee said sweetly.
Dawn smiled. "Well at least you don't have a attitude problem."
"Cutie."Denise giggled.
But they then screeched in shock, when they saw a large web filled with Ariados.
"Let's get out here!"Dawn panicked.
"Hurry!"Denise demanded as she stood up.
The two sisters started running with Piplup and Eevee.
The Ariados spit out web strings which caused them to be trapped.
"They're mad at us now."Dawn said in fright. "We destroyed their nest."
"Don't need to say it twice."Denise murmured nervously.
The wild Ariados started firing poison stings at them.
"Piplup use Bubble Beam on the web, while we throw pokemon food to distract them."Dawn instructed.
Denise looked at Eevee.
"Eevee, can you help Piplup?"Denise asked.
Eevee nodded. "Eev!"
"Piplup!"Piplup tweeted.
"Come and get it!"Dawn encouraged as she and Denise threw Pokémon food to the Ariados.
Piplup used Bubble Beam, while Eevee used Water Gun to destroy the web.
"We're out!"Dawn said in victory.
Then a web caught her foot making her fell on the floor.
"Dawn!"Denise shouted as she rushed to her sister's side.
The Ariados started approaching them.
"Piplup! Eevee! Get out of here!"Denise said looking at the two pokemon. "We'll be fine!"
"Save yourselves!"Dawn begged.
Just then the Ariados started throwing their attacks on the two sisters, Piplup and Eevee went in front to protect them.
"Piplup is using Bide."Dawn said in surprise.
"Cool!"Denise chuckled in astonishment.
Piplup released a big white light, while Eevee hurled a shadowy blob on the Ariados.
This caused the wild spiders to be thrown to the sky and to fall in another side of the forest.
"Whoa, Eevee used Shadow Ball."Denise whispered.
Dawn and Denise notice Eevee was no longer with them.
"Huh? Where did Eevee go?"Dawn asked.
"Oh well, proberly went back to it's home."Denise said folding her arms.
The two sisters started walking with Piplup on Dawn's arms.
The girls arrived to Lake Verity, which was quiet and peaceful.
Piplup's tummy was growling again.
Dawn took out her can and it was empty.
"Oh dear."Dawn mumbled.
"Not to worry."Denise admitted and took out a small container with home made poffins inside. "Here you go, Piplup."
Piplup took the sweet poffin and ate it.
Dawn and Denise smiled at the Penguin Pokémon.
"Staraptor!"
The two sisters and Piplup look up in the sky.
There they saw Chimchar in Staraptor's claws and Starly was following behind them.
Then a big, but soft breeze of wind appeared and the trio heard a sound coming from the water.
The trio spotted an invisible figure before it disappeared and the wind stopped.
"What was that?"Dawn asked.
"No idea."Denise replied. "But I'm sure it was a Pokémon."
Afterwards in the Lab...
The two sisters then told Professor Rowan what they saw at Lake.
"Hmm."Professor Rowan said. "There has been stories about a legendary Pokémon living in Lake Verity for a long time now that might've been the Pokémon you both saw."
"Wow, you think so?"Dawn asked.
"Awesome."Denise whispered.
"Now it's time for you two to receive everything you need for your journey and pick your starter Pokémon."Professor Rowan declared.
One of the assistants arrived with a tray that held Piplup, Chimchar and Turtwig.
Another assistant held a tray with two Pokédexs and five Poké Balls for each of them.
Dawn's Pokédex was pink and Denise's Pokédex was magenta.
"These are the three available to first time Trainers in the Sinnoh region."Professor Rowan explained as the two girls looked at the starter Pokémon. "The Fire Type Chimchar, the Water Type Piplup and the Grass Type Turtwig. So do you two to know which Pokémon you both want?"
"Yes I do."Dawn responded. "Piplup."
"Very well."Professor Rowan answered and looked at Denise. "Your turn, my dear."
Denise walked towards the other two remaining Pokémon.
Chimchar and Turtwig looked at her with a smile.
Denise had a thoughtful look on her face as she looked at the two Pokémon in front of her carefully.
The girl smiled when she made her decision.
"I choose Turtwig."Denise replied.
Turtwig smiled happily while Chimchar dropped his head down in defeat.
"Good."Professor Rowan answered as he handed the two girls each a Poké Ball. "Here are their Poké Balls."
Denise activated her Poké Ball and Turtwig went inside it.
"Piplup, you and I have already been through a awful lot so we're really a team."Dawn said.
"Piplup!"Piplup said happily.
"Okay, let's go."Dawn giggled.
Dawn activated her Poké Ball and Piplup went inside it.
"One thing for sure anything can happen so if any of you need help, just let me know."Professor Rowan reminded.
"Thank you so much."Dawn remarked.
"We'll see you all later."Denise chuckled.
The two girls started their bikes and went off.
"Good luck."Professor Rowan replied.
Professor Rowan and his assistants waved farewell to the Twinleaf twins.
"With excitement Dawn and Denise set off on their journey happily wondering what adventures await for them in their Pokemon World as do we..."
