Ruby was currently being suffocated in a bear hug by a girl with golden hair. "Oh I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me. This is the best day ever!" "Please stop," Ruby said in a very hoarse voice. "But I'm so proud of you!" the girl said while letting go of Ruby and taking a step back. "Really sis, it was nothing." "What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is gonna think you're the bee's knees." "Okay, I don't wanna be the bee's knees, okay. I don't wanna be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees." "What's with you? Aren't you excited?" "Of course I'm excited. I just... I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything," Ruby said in a defeated tone. The girl then walked around Ruby and side hugged her. "But you are special." At that moment a news story turned on.

"The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department back to you Lisa." "Thank you Cyril. In other news this Saturday's faunus civil rights protest turned dark when members of The White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted..." The news story then changed to a hologram of Glynda Goodwitch. "Hello and Welcome to Beacon," the hologram said. "Who's that?" said the girl, still hugging Ruby. "My name is Glynda Goodwitch." The girls question immediately being answered got her to just say "Oh." "You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace and as future huntsmen and huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." After the hologram finished it's message, it dissipated leaving behind an empty space.

"Wow! You can see signal from up here!" Ruby said while moving away from the girl and towards a window. "Where is it?" Izuku asked, just materializing at her side. This got a scared eep from Ruby which caused Izuku to chuckle. He was back to wearing his ranger armor and helmet. "Where did you come from?" "I literally just walked over here. Anyway like i was saying, where is Signal?" "Oh its right there." Ruby said while pointing out the window. The golden-haired girl then side hugged Ruby again while Ruby said "I guess home isn't that far after all." The girl then said "Beacons our home now." They then hear a muffled sound like someone was about to puke. The three look to their right and see a blonde haired boy with what looks to be some iron padding around his clothes getting sick from the height. He then is about to throw up so he runs away from the window to try and find a trash can. "I guess the view isn't for everyone." The girl said. "It was a nice moment while it lasted." Ruby responded with. Izuku then said "Imma go check if he's okay." "Alright, see ya later Izuku!" Ruby yelled out to him as he walked over to where the guy ran.

"I wonder who we're gonna meet." Ruby said. "I just hope they're better than vomit boy." the girl said. "Oh Yang gross, you have puke on your shoe!" The now named Yang was just muttering, "Gross gross gross," over and over again while Ruby was telling her to get away from her again and again. The ship they were on then docked and we see vomit boy immediately run for the trash can right outside of the ship. While walking by, Izuku set down a Nuka-Cola next to him while he was spilling his insides into the trash can. "It'll help with the taste." The boy then weakly thanked him before throwing up again. Izuku, Yang, and Ruby then walk together and stop before the school, admiring the sight. Yang then said "The view from Vale's got nothing on this."

Someone then walked by and Ruby started geeking about their weapon. "Sis, that kid's got a collapsible staff, and she's got a fire sword!" Yang had to pull Ruby back by the hood before she went and bothered a person about their weapon. "Easy there little sister, they're just weapons." "Just weapons? They're an extension of ourselves. They're part of us! They're so cool." "Well why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it." Ruby then pulled out her scythe from nowhere like she learned it from Izuku. "Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose. I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people but better." Yang then pulled Ruby's hood over her head. "Ruby come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own?" "But why would I need new friends when I have you?" Ruby questioned while pulling her hood off her head. "Well, actually my friends are here now. Gotta go catch up, bye" "Wait where are you going? Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? Do we have dorms? I don't know what I'm doing." Ruby said while falling due to her being dizzy by the speed of Yang and her friends running past her. Sadly, Ruby accidentally fell on some briefcases.

"What are you doing?" "Sorry" Ruby quickly apologized. "Sorry? Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?" All Ruby said was uh while picking up a briefcase and giving it to the short white haired girl who was yelling at her. "Give me that." the girl said while opening the briefcase. "This is dust! Mined and purified from the Schnee quarry." Ruby let out another uh before the girl continued. "What are you, braindead? Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy." The girl took out a vial that had red dust in it and shook it with every element she said. Some of the dust escaped the vial every time she shook it, but it was getting in the air and was making Ruby need to sneeze. The girl continued berating her however. "Are you even listening to me? Is any of this sinking in? What do you have to say for yourself?" Ruby then sneezed which caused the dust to react, exploding in the air and on the girl, throwing the vial to the boot of another girl that was taller than Ruby, but with black hair, yellow eyes, and a bow. She was reading but subconsciously picked it up and then looked at it. The girl with white hair then continued "Unbelievable! This is exactly the kind of thing i was talking about!" "I'm really, really sorry." "You complete dolt! What are you even doing here? Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon?" "Well, I-I" "This isn't your ordinary combat school. It isn't just sparring and and practice you know. We're here to to fight monsters do watch where you're going." "Hey, I said I was sorry, princess." "It's heiress actually." The black haired girl finally interjected. "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellent in the world." "Finally, some recognition." Weiss said.

"The same company infamous for it's controversial labor forces and questionable business partners." This quite offended Weiss, but also made her so that she couldn't get a word out. "What, how dare... UH." Weiss snatched the vial back from the girl and then stormed off. Ruby then yelled after Weiss "I promise I'll make this up to you! I guess I'm not the only one having a rougher stay. So, what's up..." She looked back to see the girl walking away. Ruby then collapsed and quietly said to herself "Welcome to Beacon." "Come on Ruby, get up." Izuku said, leaning over her. He reached his hand out to her and she took it. He pulled her up and then vomit boy from earlier walked over. "Hey I'm Jaune. Thanks for the help earlier." "No problem. It's happened to me more than a few times on the wasteland." "What do you mean "the wasteland."" Ruby then was really exited and just blurted out, "He's from a different world!" Jaune was surprised by this but didn't question further. Ruby then asked "Aren't you the guy who threw up on the shuttle."

We cut to Jaune, Ruby, and Izuku walking down a path with Jaune arguing for his defense. "All I'm saying is that motion sickness is a much more common problem than people let on." "Look, I'm sorry. Vomit boy was the first thing that came to mind." "Oh yeah, well what if i called you craterface?" "Hey that explosion was an accident!" "Well the name's Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it." Ruby then asked "Do they?" "They will. Well, I-I hope they will. My mom always says that... Never mind." That got a giggle from Ruby and Izuku. Trying to make conversation, Ruby then took out Crescent Rose while saying "So, i got this thing." "Whoa! Is that a scythe?" "Its also a customizable, high-impact sniper rifle." "A what?" "Its also a gun." Izuku said clarifying. "Oh. That's cool." "So, what do you got?" Stuttering over his words he said "Oh, I-I got this sword." "Ooo." Ruby said interested. "Yeah, I've got a shield too." Ruby then asked "So what do they do?" while touching the front of the shield. The shield then collapsed sending it off of Jaune's arm and making him struggle to catch it. After an embarrassingly long 5 seconds of it evading his hands and going into the air, he caught it and then said, "Th-The shield gets smaller. So, when i get tired of carrying it, i can just put it away." Izuku then asked, "Wouldn't it still weigh the same?" "Yeah it does."

Ruby then nervously giggled and said "Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons. I guess I did go a little bit overboard when designing it." "Wait, You made that?" "Of course! All students at Signal forge their own weapons. Didn't you make yours?' "It's a hand-me-down. My great-great-grandfather used it to fight in the war." "Sounds more like a family heirloom to me. Well I like it. Not many people have an appreciation for the classics these days." "Yeah, the classics." "Guys, that's cool and all but where are we going?" Izuku asked. Jaune then said "I don't know, I was following Ruby." "I was following you!" "...You think there might be a directory? Maybe, a food court? Some sort of recognizable landmark?" Ruby almost laughed from that. "Is that a no?" Jaune asked "That's a no"

We see the three of them walking into a coliseum shaped building that had everyone in it. "Ruby, over here!" Ruby looked over and it was Yang. "I saved you a spot!" "Hey, i g-got to go. See you after the ceremony!" "Hey wait! Ahh, great." He then looked back at where Izuku was and he disappeared again. " Where am i supposed to find another nice, quirky, girl to talk to." Jaune then wanders into the crowd but behind him we see a girl red hair just staring at him walking into the crowd. She wore her red hair in a waist-length ponytail, curled slightly into a loose ringlet. She also wore light-green eyeshadow around the far upper corners of her green eyes.

Ruby was standing next to Yang while she was asking her questions. "So, how's your first day going little sister." "You mean after you ditched me and i exploded?" "Yikes, meltdown already?" "No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school. And there was some fire and I-I think some ice." "Are you being sarcastic?" Yang asked in a teasing tone. "I wish! I tripped over some krabby girl's luggage and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then i exploded, and then she yelled again and i felt really really bad and i just wanted her to stop yelling at me." As she's talking, the camera pans behind her to show that Weiss was behind her the entire time. "You!" "Oh god it's happening again!" She said and jumped into Yang's arms Yang caught her bridal style before Weiss continued. "You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" Yang realizing that her sister was telling the truth just said "Oh my god you actually exploded." "It was an accident." Ruby said while getting out of Yang's arms. "it was an accident." Weiss then just put a pamphlet in front of Ruby's face and got a "What's this" from her. "The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Weiss said this in a fast voice so Ruby wasn't able to keep up. "Um" Weiss then asked her "You really want to start making it up to me?" "Absolutely?" "Read this and don't ever speak to me again." Before Weiss can shove the Pamphlet into Ruby's hand, someone to the side of the three of them takes it out of Weiss' hands. Weiss was ready to blow up on the person but then saw Izuku just speed reading the pamphlet. When he was done he handed over to Ruby and the three of them are left wondering how he read it in about 5 seconds.

"Look, uh, sounds like you two just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, Okay." Yeah, great idea sis. Hello Weiss. I'm Ruby. Want to hang out? We could go shopping for school supplies." In a sarcastic tone Weiss said " Yeah and we can paint our nails, and try on clothes, and talk about cute boys like tall, blonde, and scraggly over there." Weiss then pointed to Jaune. Ruby got so exited from this. "Wow, really?" "No." "I'll keep this brief." The four of them look to see Ozpin and Glynda on a stage with a microphone. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But i look amongst you and all i see is wasted energy. In need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." Ozpin then walked off leaving Glynda to do the rest of the talking. "you will gather the bottom tonight. Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." Yang then points out "He seemed kind of off." Izuku agrees with her while saying, "It's almost like he wasn't there." Jaune then sneaks up to the four and just says to Weiss "I'm a natural blonde, you know." Weiss then facepalms.

We see Ruby in her pjs laying down and writing in the dark. "It's like a big slumber party." Yang says while dropping next to Ruby. "I don't think dad would approve of all the boys though." "I know I do." Yang said while watching all of the boys that are shirtless and play-fighting. She then see's Izuku laying on a window sill, still in his armor. Yang then asks Ruby "What's that?" "A letter to the gang back at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going." "Oh, that's so cute." "Shut up!." Ruby said while throwing a pillow in Yang's face. "I didn't get to take my friends with me to school. It's weird not knowing anyone here." "What about Jaune and Izuku? Their n-nice. There you go. Plus two friends. That's a 200% increase." "I'm pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend, and Izuku is just Izuku. Back to zero." Izuku, yet again just appearing behind the two, says "There is no such thing as negative friends, and thanks for the compliment." Another scared eep from Ruby and chuckle from Izuku. Yang then asked "Dude, how do you do that? I just saw you laying down on a window sill, and why are you still in your armor?" "A magician never reveals his secrets."

"Like i was saying, there is no such thing as a negative friend, only an enemy. So, you made one friend and one enemy." That got Izuku a high-impact plushie to the face. Yang continues with "Look, it's only been one day. Trust me, you've got friends all around you, you just haven't met them yet." They then hear a match being lit and Ruby looks over and sees that it's the black haired girl from before once again reading a book.. "That girl!" "You know her?" "Not really. She saw what happened this morning but left before I could say anything." Yang then said, "Well, now's your chance." She got up and quite literally dragged Ruby over to the girl. "Wait, what are you doing!?" Ruby's voice cracked on the last part, making it more of a high pitched squeak. The squeak got her attention so she looked up from her book. Yang noticed this and said "Hello!" in the most sing-songy voice without actually singing. "I believe you two may know each other." The girl then said, "Aren't you the girl who exploded?" "Uh, yeah. my name's Ruby, but you can just call me crater... actually you can just call me Ruby." "Okay?" Yang then whisper-shouted at her sister, "What are you doing?" Ruby responded with "I don't know, help me!"

"So, what's your name?" "Blake." "Well Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister and the guy in the armor sitting next to you is Izuku." This got Blake confused because there was nobody sitting next to her the last time she checked but she looked to her side and there was someone sitting right next to her trying to read her book. Hearing that he was pointed out, he blankly stares at Blake and just says "I love to read and I don't have any books. Leave me alone." Yang, feeling the high tension just said. " I love your bow." That got Blake to look away from Izuku so he just went back to trying to read. "thanks." Blake said. "It goes great with your pajamas." "Right." Blake said skeptically. "Nice night, don't ya think?" "Yes, it's lovely. Almost as lovely as this book that I will continue to read, as soon as you leave ." "Yeah, this girl's a lost cause." Yang said out loud. "What's it about?" Ruby asks. "Huh?" "Your book. Does it have a name?" "Well, It's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body." "Oh yeah. That's real... lovely." Yang said.

"I love books. Yang used to read to me every night before bed stories of heroes and monsters. They're one of the reasons I want to be a huntress." "Why is that? Hoping you'll live happily ever after?" "Well, I'm hoping we all will. As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books as someone who fought for what was right and who protected people who couldn't protect themselves." "That's very ambitious for a child. Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale." "Well, that's why we're here, to make it better." Yang then hugged her sister, picking her up in the process and saying "Oh, i'm so proud of my baby sister!" Ruby told her to cut it out before fighting her. Weiss then came over after a few seconds of them fighting, but before she could, everyone heard a low sound that quickly turned to a loud, high pitched wulululu and saw green eyes glowing through the room. The sound got the two of them to stop fighting and made everyone plug their ears. After a few seconds it stopped and everyone unplugged their ears. Everyone looked at where the sound came from to see Izuku back at the window sill with his helmet off. "Yang and Ruby. Please stop, people are trying to sleep." He then just lied down and closed his eyes, trying to sleep, but he was still in his armor. Yang and Weiss started arguing while Blake reached for the candle and blew it out.
