Chapter 9: Help Needed

A young Liliruca Arde stands in the darkness, dressed in rags with her body covered in dirt, her hair ruffled, a dull look in her eyes while holding a dying flower in her hands.

Lili's voice was then heard speaking:

"All of a sudden, I was there…all alone. My parents went to the dungeon to make money and died quickly,"

A more grown Lili was carrying a backpack while in the company of adventurers as they ventured through a dungeon floor and was being mistreated by them. She continued to struggle through many painful hardships over the years.

"To survive, just to survive…I struggled. Beaten…exploited. Even if I tried to run away, even if I hid…they would always find me,"

Lili worked for a kind elderly couple that owned a flower shop and was content, unaware that she was being spied on by the group of adventurers whom she worked with. The next day, she came only to discover that the shop was destroyed and the couple were attacked, she tried to appeal to them but was coldly rebuffed by them for they saw her as the cause for their misfortune.

"I hate adventurers, I truly…hate them,"

At night, Eina was invited to the Twilight Mansion that belongs to the Loki Familia as she wants to learn more about the Soma Familia from Loki who's currently downing a cup of Soma wine and enjoying herself from the looks of it.

"Puhaaa! It's been so long since I last drink Soma wine, this is definitely the good stuff!" said Loki joyfully.

Eina maintained her composure and called out "So, Goddess Loki; you mentioned that the Soma Familia doesn't worship the god but rather the wine,"

"Not exactly," Loki pointed at the wine in the glass she's holding "This insanely expensive stuff here is a failure in their eyes. What they worship is the truly perfected wine which they won't sell to anybody no matter what,"

"Truly perfected?" Eina inquired curiously, having not heard of such a thing while Ais and Riveria continued to listen to the conversation.

"That's right, it's quite dangerous. Just a tiny sip of the wine would get you drunk to the very bottom of your soul. All of the children of the Soma Familia are there to drink it, only the drink connects them,"

"Is this what the Soma Familia is about?"

"Exactly, it takes a lot of money to really focus on brewing the wine. Only those that make a lot of money get the privilege of having a little drink of the perfected wine. Once you've taken a sip of it, you'll get the urge to have more. It's addictive nature will drive you to get money in any way, even if it involves screwing your companions over or sacrificing others…,"

Eina was disturbed to hear this, she has already seen evidence of how adventurers of the Soma Familia get so desperate when attaining money and how they act like they're going to have nervous breakdowns. What worries her the most is that Naruto's Supporter is from the Soma Familia which could put him in danger whether or not she drank the perfected Soma Wine.

"Well, that's all I know. I hope it helps, Ms. Eina," said Loki.

"Yes, it did. Thank you very much," Eina bowed in gratitude.

Loki got up from the couch and approached Ais who seems to be lost in thought about something "Now come on Ais, how long do you plan on pouting over some dude avoiding you? Let's go update your status, shall we? It'll do you some good~,"

Ais nodded in response and went to open the door leading out of the room "Fine, if you say so,"

Loki smiled perversely "Ah ha, and if you're lucky you might get a massage too~,"

"If you try anything, I will cut you,"

"Oh come on!" Ais then closes the door as they left.

Eina felt a bit awkward at witnessing the interaction after such a serious conversation then she faced Riveria "She's an interesting goddess, isn't she?"

"Interesting or not, she's far sharper than she looks ad we trust her implicitly," said Riveria whilst taking a sip from her teacup.

Eina picked up her teacup and held it close to her lips while deep in thought "Even if it involves sacrificing others, huh…," as she drinks her tea she hears Loki shout out in surprise.

"You're an A-Rank now!?"

"PFFFFTTTT!" Eina spat out her tea in shock from hearing that.

In a dark room, Lili appears to be performing some sort of experiment judging by the cloth covering the lower part of her face as she carefully uses a pair of tongs to lift a beaker from the burner then pouring its heated contents into a waterproof pouch then quickly sealing it up before its scent leaks out. She turns to look out the window towards the moonlit sky with a thoughtful expression as she pulls down the cloth to reveal a small frown.

Over at the church, Naruto was having a serious conversation with Hestia relating to what happened today with the adventurer and the change in Lili's attitude. He has a gut feeling that Lili might be in trouble due to her past actions and she would get hurt or worse…

"So then, you're worried about that Supporter of yours?" asked Hestia.

Naruto nodded in affirmation "That's right. There's this adventurer who's after Lili and it's clear to me he's pretty bad news. It didn't take me long to figure out that she's clearly in trouble. For what reasons, it currently remains unknown. So, I figured we give her a place to hide temporarily, maybe…,"

But before he could finish his sentence, Hestia then spoke up "It's just that…" She stopped in mid-sentence, not wanting to say anything that might offend or upset him.

However, Naruto seemed to notice this "Go on, say what's on your mind," he encouraged her.

Hestia looked at him for a moment then she continued with her initial response "Well…I hate to say this but uhh…are you sure that we can trust this girl, Naruto?"

Naruto didn't respond as he was expecting this question from a mile away, even so he still raised an eyebrow at her regardless which Hestia notice this and she explains it further

"I'm sorry, that wasn't the nicest way to put it as I'm sure you've expected this but judging by everything you told me so far, there's something awfully suspicious about her," Naruto wasn't surprised by this as he knew about this since the moment they met. He continues to listen to Hestia's opinion "Think about it Naruto, do you really think she'll just 'stop' trying to rob you after her first attempt? She betrayed you before and most likely she'll do it again,"

Naruto looks down at his head as he knows that Hestia is not wrong, he's painfully aware that Lili isn't going to stop and would probably betray him when his guard is down unfortunately. He heard Hestia continues on "And why would there be an adventurer out to get her? You see what I mean right? She's clearly hiding something from you,"

After finishing her opinion on this, she watched him since he hasn't looked up while he was hearing her voice out her opinion.

Naruto just sat there being quiet for a while until he spoke up "It's true she's not gonna stop trying to rob me and I'm painfully yet fully aware that she's hiding something from me and most likely will betray me again at some point when an opportunity presents itself to her, but despite all that I…,"

Even though he's acknowledging his goddess's concerns of the potential risks that his Supporter could bring to him, he smiles at this because his faith in his Supporter still hasn't changed despite these notions which he made known to Hestia. After some talking for a bit, Naruto then said "Thanks for having this discussion," He finishes with a bright smile for he knows what he's needs to do now.

"Huh? You want us to go to Floor 10?" Naruto inquired after meeting up with Lili on the next day at the entrance of the Babel Tower when she made this suggestion to him.

Lili nodded in affirmation "Yeah, I think you're good enough to make it down there. You're tough so I'm sure it'll be just fine," Naruto just chose to ignore what she just said about him thinking he's now good enough to go down Floor 10 since he technically already been down there…not that she knows about it though since he's not a braggart to start with.

"Not that I don't mind heading down to Floor 10. I'm all for the challenge but uhh…you sure you're up for this? I mean you did save me from last time. You used your magic knife back on Floor 7, don't you recall? Besides once you get that far down…then you start to deal with the bigger monsters," while saying that, Naruto recalls his encounter with the Minotaur on Floor 8 back when he was an F-Ranker which he managed to slay the beast with little trouble.

"Yeah but that's not gonna be a problem for you Master Naruto, cuz now you got magic fire and light powers!" After saying that with a dramatic pose, Naruto just chuckled at this with a smile. She said while closing her fist "Don't worry I know you can do it. And I've been all the way down to Floor 11 so you can take my word for it,"

Naruto simply smiled at this since he too been down to Floor 11 and that was before he was an adventurer…but again, not like she knows about that. Even so he believes her claim as both Naruto and Lili smiled at each other…for different reasons. Unaware to Lili that Naruto can already sense her emotions clearly that she's coaxing him into going there. Whatever reason she chose Floor 10 specifically, he knows she's up to something. After all, it's not Floor 10's monsters that he's worried about, it's what Lili plans on doing when they reach there is which has him on edge. Naruto will have to be on guard at all times around her knowing in his gut and mind that something is gonna happen soon. It's not a matter of 'IF'…only when.

Eina is pressing a button to call the elevator as she mutters to herself while holding a folder of documents "I was planning to have a talk with Goddess Hestia anyway, but I had no idea it would be during my inspection in Babel tower. I guess I'll need to make do; mix business with pleasure. But I absolutely must warn her about Naruto's Supporter," while waiting for the elevator, she caught sight of a familiar female adventurer who was walking by which happens to be Ais Wallenstein when she notices Eina looking at her direction.

Lili was descending through the stairs before she turns around to see Naruto following her "I wanna thank you for taking my suggestion, Master Naruto. Becoming your Supporter really turned out to be quite the stroke of good luck for me,"

Naruto shrugged "Yeah well…all that aside, I was planning to come down at some point,"

"Oh and…I hope you don't think it's too forward of me but…" Naruto looks at Lili and sees her giving him something which he took and pulled a shortsword out of its sheath. "I suggest you try fighting with this from here on out,"

"You think so huh?"

"Yeah, the weapon you've been using is gotta be a little too short for big monsters, so this baselard should work better for you. Plus, with those guns of yours that I've seen in action, you'll most definitely be having an easier time keeping them from a distance however you like,"

As she explains herself to Naruto, he decided to go along with it as he said "I see…alright then, I'll borrow it…" Naruto didn't finish his sentence as he was about to strap the baselard but then remembered he doesn't have anything to put on his hip which made him look unamused.

"Master Naruto," Naruto looked at her as she noticed her motioning him on his left arm protector which he immediately catches on then he strapped his new borrowed weapon onto his Green Supporter with zero issue. He then checked his weapons, gear and ammo for his firearms before ensuring that he's ready to roll.

"Alright, we're all set. You ready to go?" asked Naruto to which Lili affirms.

"You know it,"

Once that's set and done, they continue traveling to their destination.

"You're telling me that I met one of your adventurers?" Ais inquired after being called over by Eina.

Eina nodded in response "Yes, I'm so glad I got a chance to speak to you. You see, he encountered a Minotaur on the 8th Floor which he killed on his own back when he first started his adventuring career as an F-Ranker which you happen to meet him,"

"A Minotaur?" Ais recalled her memory as she did encounter a guy whom she met down at the dungeon when she was pursuing the aforementioned Minotaur which he happened to have already done the job himself.

"That's right. Uhh, his name is Naruto Uzumaki-," Eina stopped in mid-sentence when she heard Ais gasp while noticing her having a strange expression which made her sweatdrop at this "Uhh…Lady Wallenstein?"

Ais regained focus and inquired with concern "I uhh…I hope I didn't cause him any trouble, did I?"

"N-No no, he's fine. Actually, I think he's been very curious about you since the moment you two met," Eina quickly replied while waving her hands

Hearing that made Ais look hopeful "Is that true?"

"Positively,"

That made Ais happy while feeling relieved to hear as she said "Oh, well thank goodness,"

They then heard someone talking in a scruffy voice behind them as Eina and Ais glanced back to see 4 adventurers talking while they were walking to the dungeon entrance.

"Oh, the twerp's just about ready to scam that punk kid. The one with the spiky blonde hair and whisker marks huh?" asked the scruffy man.

The skinny one replied "Yeah, and I'm sure you can figure out where this is going. Don't screw this up fellas,"

"Yeah yeah, we got it,"

The scruffy man laughed as the four entered the entrance to the dungeon unaware that both Eina and Ais had heard the whole conversation between the adventurers. Eina knew what the man said when he gave the distinctive description of a boy with spiky blond hair and whiskers marks which they we're talking about Naruto.

"Hmm…so does that mean…," said Eina in thought as she realized that Naruto could be in serious danger from what she heard from the conversation between the two adventurers and Naruto's Supporter could be planning to do towards him before it's too late.

She heard Ais ask her "Is there something wrong?"

Eina looked at Ais for a bit which she closed her eyes as she comes with a decision she'd made "Okay your Ladyship, please forgive me but I'm afraid I need to ask you for a very important favor,"

Ais just tilted her head in confusion and wondered what Eina needs her help with.

---

Naruto and Lili have finally arrived at their destination which is Floor 10. The room is filled with white whithered trees and white grass as the area is covered in thick misty fog that is making it hard for them to see which wasn't present the last time Naruto came here.

The blonde ninja decided to pretend to be oblivious like this is his first time entering the 10th Floor without raising any suspicion from his Supporter "*Whistle* So this is the 10th Floor huh?"

Lili replied "Yeah, this is our mission today,"

Naruto looked around as he mentally says "It's been awhile since the last time I step foot into this place,"

Kurama finally spoke up "Yeah kit, that was right after meeting both Hiyori and Aisha,"

"Yup, I do wonder what they're up to right now,"

Sora also spoke up "Don't worry Naruto, I'm sure we'll eventually see them again in the future. For now, you should probably stay focused on what's in front of you,"

"Or rather focus what's BEHIND you is more like it,"

Naruto assured the two "Oh don't worry you two, I'm gonna make sure she's within my eyesight to prevent her from pulling any tricks she may have in store for me,"

"Better make sure you keep her within your line of sight. Because I'm starting to suspect why she want you to come here specifically. It might have something to do with the smog that's thick enough to cover the entire area from view,"

Sora agreed with him "I was thinking the same thing, she might be planning something that involves the smog,"

"Whatever it is she's planning, I'll be ready should she make her attempt at anything against me,"

After he finished talking to both Kurama and Sora about Lili's potential attempt to rob him, Naruto stepped forward "Stay close to me Lili." "So that I'll be sure to keep a closer eye on you at all times,"

"I will, thank you," Lili said while following close by.

Naruto came up to a tree which he put his hand on the trunk and realized that there's no life in it. Still playing the part of being oblivious, he said "Hang on, isn't this…,"

"Yup, it's a landform, but…I'm afraid we got bigger problems right now,"

As he heard that, Naruto then turned towards where she's looking which the two heard the sounds of footsteps from afar which they now see a large monster coming into view from the smog which so happens to be an Orc…however the problem is that there's something different about this particular Orc. It wasn't just a regular Orc that would spawn here, it was an Orc Warrior according what the Isekai System is informing Naruto.

Both Naruto and Lili weren't expecting one to appear on the 10th Floor but for different reasons. For Naruto, this is the first time he sees an Orc that's wearing a full set of armor and using an actual weapon unlike their regular counterpart, not that he was complaining about it. For Lili, she was confused by this because she wasn't expecting for them to encounter a non-regular Orc monster on the 10th floor. Not to mention she hasn't even started using the monster lures she has on her and yet a powerful monster has appeared. Nonetheless, despite this sudden unexpected encounter, this doesn't change her plans in the slightest since she can still use this to her advantage to make sure Naruto is focused on the Orc to let his guard down enough to scam him completely.

"Woah, this one looks dangerous for sure," said Naruto, not taking his eyes off of the Orc Warrior for a second.

He heard Lili call out to him from behind "Don't turn back now, Master Naruto,"

"Like hell I am. This fight will still be a cinch for me. Besides it's only one Orc Warrior at the moment so this won't take long for me. I doubt it'll do much on its own regardless how powerful it may appear," Naruto said as he pulls out his borrowed baselard, readying himself for a fight. As if the monster has heard what Naruto had said, the Orc looked mad as it brandishes its sword while roaring at him in defiance for the ninja's insult. "Uh oh, I might've pissed it off with what I said,"

"You have a tendency to get on people's nerves without even trying, guess the same applies to monsters," Kurama commented.

Lili spoke up in alert "It's coming this way!"

The Orc rushes towards Naruto with the intent to kill while the ninja responded in kind with no hesitation to engage the monster in a battle.

Meanwhile at Hephaestus's Shop, Hestia was busy performing her duties there by tending to the shelves, she spoke without looking away "What do you want, miss adviser? You're here on guild business or you're just talking to me because your bored?"

Eina who came to Hestia to warn her said "This is very important. It's about Naruto's new supporter," Hestia didn't say anything but she stopped what she's doing the moment Eina mentioned Naruto's Supporter "I think…I think she's dangerous,"

Back at the dungeon where Lili who's sporting a neutral yet emotionless face as she's watching Naruto fight the Orc Warrior from a distance within the smog while he's focused on taking the monster down.

Naruto will admit that this version of an Orc is in a class of its own compared to its lesser counterpart. The monster was holding its own against Naruto quite well and was lasting a bit longer, proving to be a slight challenge due to its armor and slightly higher combat capabilities. Nonetheless, he was able inflict a lot of damage by striking at the exposed parts of its body while utilizing his speed and reaction to evade its sword swings.

"Fire!" Naruto thrust his hand forward to launch a fireball straight into the Orc Warrior's face, causing it to roar in agony from the burns inflicted. Then he rushed forward to go behind the Orc Warrior and slash at both of its leg tendons and making it fall to its knees. Naruto performed a 180 slide to stand in front of the Orc Warrior with his handgun aimed straight at its mouth "Bon appetit,"

*Bang**Bang**Bang**Bang**Bang**Bang*

He pulled the trigger to empty the entire clip into the monster's head, effectively killing it. Naruto ejected the clip and reloaded the gun with another one "Guess that takes care of it,"

[WARNING] [WARNING] [WARNING]

However, his HUD started giving him warnings to alert him about something which made him check his AutoMap and it was picking up multiple monsters which is increasing in numbers with every passing second.

"What the heck?! Why am I picking up multiple monsters here? It's like this floor is spawning an army against me!" said Naruto mentally because he wasn't expecting to be facing THIS many monsters that are beginning to spawn here.

"I don't know what's going on but you better get ready kit. Something tells me this isn't your supporter's doing that caused this," said Kurama in a serious tone, seeing this many monsters popping up on the automap tells him that Lili isn't responsible for this new predicament.

"I agree. I doubt Lili could do this. Despite that, you best be careful for you're about to have a huge fight on your hands," Sora has also gotten serious seeing just how many are appearing on Naruto's automap, it isn't natural for THIS many to be spawning on the 10th floor. Soon enough, many monsters of various species began to appear from the smog before them and Lili realized with horror what was happening...it was a Monster Wave.

"Oh no…this is bad! Really really bad! This floor shouldn't be spawning this many monsters here…this is a Monster Wave!" Said Lili as she was beginning to shake in fear at the sheer numbers of monsters the floor produced here.

Naruto heard what Lili said while detecting fear in her voice asked "Monster Wave? You know what what's going on?"

Lili fearfully explained "Monster Waves are uncommon cases when the dungeon channels unusually large amounts of magical energy to generate strong monsters in certain spots. I had only heard of such a thing since it doesn't happen that often. That only happens on the Lower Floors and rarely on the Middle Floors. This floor shouldn't be capable of generating this much energy to spawn up a whole army of monsters here,"

Naruto was listening to Lili's explanation and needless to say is surprised by this news "I see…so that would explain why I'm detecting so many monsters here. This 'Monster Wave' was generated by this floor's magical energy to spawn up so many of them here. I wonder why didn't it happen previously when I first came here with Hiyori and Aisha?"

"Well it's like Lili said, it's uncommon for this occurrence to happen so perhaps you we're lucky this never happened in my opinion," said Sora from her opinion as while Naruto is strong, he would probably have a tough time fighting against a mob of monsters.

However, Kurama scoffs "Oh please. Naruto would still win regardless the odds are against him, it has always been that way. He's been through worse and still manage to come out on top. Plus, he always has me to fall back on for more power so he'll be fine. I'm actually pleased that we're actually facing this many strong monsters," the Bijuu has been itching for a challenge and facing an army of high ranked monsters was perfect for him and Naruto to go wild.

Sora shook her head with a smile "Of course you would be happy about this…but then again, I too am excited to see Naruto single-handedly take them all on!"

Naruto heard what the two said and he rolled his eyes mentally, but even he can't deny that he's feeling very excited about finding himself facing with a whole army the 10th floor is spawning up against him and he can feel his blood pumping for action already…however there's only one minor issue he needs to deal with first…which is getting Lili out of harm's way.

"Lili, listen to me. The way I see it, things are looking pretty bad right now and this is not what we've expected to be facing down here. So, I'm gonna need you to get out of here quickly while I stay behind to buy you some time to escape. Got it?" said Naruto as he's preparing himself for a major battle on his hands and the Isekai System was identifying the monsters for him.

[Dire wolves]
[Orc Warriors]
[Skeleton Warriors]
[Treants]

Lili was shocked to hear what Naruto is suggesting. Now truth to be told, she was actually preparing to escape the moment the Monster Wave occurred or the possibility of Naruto using her as bait just so he could run away saving his own skin. But never had she expected to hear Naruto to voluntarily stay behind to face against the Monster Wave on his own while getting Lili to safety. This was not how she would imagine this would go but here we are.

She shook her head to snap back to reality as she opposed the idea "WHAT?! Are you stupid? There is no way you can take on this many high-ranking monsters on your own. You're literally facing a whole army of strong powerful monsters! What makes you think you have a chance to face this many on your own?! You're not a high-ranking adventurer to fight them all on single-handedly. We need to get out of here and let the guild know what's happened here so they can send someone else to handle this,"

Naruto who was still readying himself by deactivating the gravity seals on his body and holstering both handguns after making sure that they're fully loaded before he replied to her "Lili, this is not up for a debate. I'm staying here, end of story. You're more than welcome to leave as it would be in both of our interests if you escape now. I won't be able to focus with you around since you'll be an easy target for them. So, take this chance and leave while you still can,"

Lili just couldn't believe what she's hearing "This is insane! Why are you risking yourself to fight a horde of monsters just to buy me time to escape?! What would you gain by sacrificing yourself?! This is sheer stupidity! Are you trying to prove a point or something? Is this about getting yourself fame, just to impress someone or trying to be heroic? Because to me, it's neither of those things. Staying behind while fighting against a number of monsters is incredibly idiotic. If you stay here, you'll die! Do you not understand that? They'll rip you to shreds, tear you limb from limb, devour you until there is nothing left but just your bones left behind. So, stop being an ignorant idiot and let's get out of here!"

Naruto was beginning to lose his patience the more she refuses to listen while insulting him before he made his frustration known "Dammit Lili! Why are you arguing with me about this!? I made myself perfectly clear to you. I'm not asking you, I'm tellin-no I'm ORDERING you to listen to my directions and leave. What part of that do you NOT understand?!"

Lili countered "EVERYTHING! What you just said doesn't make sense! Do you not understand about the dangers of Monster Waves can cause?"

Naruto then countered right back "And did YOU not understand me when I'm ordering you to escape while I buying you some time? Do what I say and get out of here while there's still time! The more you remain here wasting time arguing with me, the more monsters will approach us with zero chance of you escaping!"

Lili was at a loss from this. Naruto was dead serious about staying behind just to give her time to escape. She just couldn't understand why he's willing to go this far for her when he was supposed to be like those rotten adventurers that she despises so much, but he hasn't been which caused her more confusion about all this as she just couldn't figure him out; what's his angle of why he's being so nice to her, especially when she betrayed him and almost got away with stealing his knife and yet despite knowing what she did, he was willing to give her a second chance and even forgave her. She just couldn't figure out the answer why though. I mean the whole reason they came down here in the first place just to lure him into a trap to scam him while betraying him again as she steals his knife and his weapons then she'll make her escape and abandon him. That's the reason why she brought monsters lures to begin with. Just so he'll let his guard down then she'll spring the attack of stealing his stuff and leave him behind to defend himself. That was the plan, plain and simple. But everything changed when a high-ranking monster Orc Warrior started to appear but she didn't think too much about it until a whole bunch of powerful monsters started to emerge which she automatically knew what was going on and she was just about planning to escape without Naruto noticing thinking he might use her as bait, but that all changed when he told her to leave while he risked stayed behind as he buys her time to get out of here.

"I…I just don't understand you! Why are you making this so difficult for me to betray you!? You're supposed to be a rotten cruel adventurer that I hate so I can scam you! Why can't I simply hate you when you haven't done anything but shown genuine kindness towards me!?" said Lili mentally as she just stood there in pure confusion, trying to find reasons she can't scam him for he's been nothing but fair to her which caused her to have conflicting emotions about what she originally planned to do to him.

Unaware while she just stood there, she didn't notice that a Dire Wolf was sneaking up from behind her ready to strike which Lili then noticed a looming shadow behind her then turned around and screamed as she was about to face death.

*Bang*

Suddenly a bullet whizzed past her head and buried itself in between the wolf's eyes followed by a lightning bolt from above which finished it off. She looked back to see Naruto holding his handgun and a very angry expression on his face which surprised and also frightened her.

Naruto proceeded to yell at her "Lili! I am at my breaking point with you for still disobeying me! This is exactly why I'm telling you to leave! That immediately got Lili's attention. Never thought she would see Naruto with a very pissed off expression towards her. It's enough to make her afraid of him. Sure, she's seen him upset and disappointed with her when she stole his knife behind his back after learning he was robbed & betrayed, but seeing him THIS mad was a wakeup call for her as she doesn't want to make him angry with her than he already is for not listening to him.

Seeing she's finally got the message across; Lili ran away and left Naruto to face the monsters alone. She did take one last glance at Naruto as he's just about ready to fight them all head on. The cynical part of her would still see this as an opportunity to steal his weapons while his guard is truly down since she didn't want to leave empty handed after her whole plan to scam then cut him loose afterwards with the trap she'd planned on which involves the monster lures she brought with her despite the situation right now…Lili glances at where she kept the monster lures, she can still go through with it just to make the situation even worse for Naruto. All she needs to do is toss the monster lures near him which would increase more numbers within the Monster Wave, steal his weapons and just leave while letting him get mauled by the monsters without a care considering he's an adventurer like all the rest she despises of.

As she reaches for the monster lures, her hands begin to shake and she can't seem to move them any farther. It would seem that another part of her is fighting against that idea because Naruto may be an adventurer but he has been nothing but kind and forgiving to her when the other adventurers were cruel and selfish have been cruel. He always considers her as a member of the team whom he treats equally and never did anything which would cause discomfort to her, Lili may hate adventurers but doing this would make her even worse than them. Coming to an ultimate decision…she decides to go against her original plan and just fully leave as she run away towards the exit.

Seeing Lili finally leave, Naruto can finally focus on the monsters "Finally! I swear why does she have to make this difficult for not listening to me,"

"Probably because she wasn't sure you're capable enough to actually fight them all on your own," said Sora.

Kurama scoffed "Who cares! Now that she's out of the way, we can finally cut loose without any distractions!"

"I suppose your right…but don't you think you were being a little too harsh on her, Naruto?"

Naruto sighed, not liking what he did to Lili earlier "I didn't want to yell at her but she wasn't listening to me and I had to make a tough choice which was to do that. It was the only way to get my point across,"

"Well, you're not wrong…but still,"

"Don't worry, I'll apologize for yelling at her since I was only just looking out for her safety. Although I'm slightly surprised that she didn't try to betray me this time,"

"Well I'm glad she didn't. Probably that all changed the moment this Monster Wave started to appear before us. But enough about her, let's get into action already!" said Kurama, really wanting to start the fight

"Don't hold back Master!" said Sora excitedly "And don't forget to re-enable the Auto-Collect since you're gonna be busy with this fight!"

Naruto grinned while bringing out the Hestia Knife which he could sense is eager to aid him "Oh don't worry, I ain't holding back for this one," chakra burst out from his body in the form of a blue fiery aura as he shouts out "Alright, let's get this party started because I'm gonna go wild!" And with that, Naruto immediately rushes at the horde of monsters to fight them with everything he has; guns, blades, magic and chakra.

The first of the monsters to attack were some of the Dire Wolves that pounced at Naruto who swiftly stepped from side-to-side whilst twirling the Hestia Knife to hold it in a reverse grip before slicing their heads off cleanly before their feet even touched the ground. He quickly dashed out of the way of a sword slash from an Orc Warrior which was being backed up by two more of it.

"Let's see you handle this, Wind style: Wind Cutter!" Naruto channeled wind chakra through the Hestia Knife then swung it to launch a horizontal crescent wave of razor-sharp wind towards the Orc Warriors that tried to block the incoming attack only for it to slice through their swords, armor and themselves in one go. Naruto had taken Asuma's wind training to heart and remastered it to how it was in the past.

Feeling the ground shake beneath his feet, Naruto backflipped right as roots burst out from the ground and attempted to ensnare him. He looked to see that the attack came from a treant and frowned "Last I checked, you guys are weak against fire so in that case…Firebolt!" he thrust his hands forward and consecutively launched bolts of flame at the treant, causing it to screech in agony as it's being burned alive before dying.

"Don't look now, but here comes more of them!" said Kurama.

"Mind as well even things up a bit, Shadow Clone jutsu!" Naruto crossed the middle and index fingers of each hand together and channeled his chakra as he created a dozen copies of himself "Let's mow them down!"

"Right!" the clones rushed forward with various weapons and firearms to engage the enemies.

Naruto crouched down a bit whilst channeling chakra to his feet then bringing out the baselard that Lili had given him sending through it and the Hestia Knife to enhance their sharpness before dashing forward at highspeed and was rapidly slashing at the monsters standing in his path, not pausing for a moment, never staying in one place and moving on to the next target after defeating a previous one.

He sped through a set of handsigns to use a jutsu "Wind Style: Air Bullets!" he took a deep breath before expelling a barrage of compressed spheres of air from his mouth, slamming into the monsters and pushing them back for his next move as he weaves through another set of handsigns "Fire Style: Great Fireball jutsu!" he took in a deep breath with his stomach swelling a bit before opening his mouth to expel a massive orb of roaring flames that surged forward whilst consuming anything and everything in its path, reducing all to ashes.

"Lots down and many more to go," said Naruto, looking to see more monsters appear to take the place of the ones he had just taken down.

"Eh, sheep to the slaughter like they say on tv," said Sora with a shrug.

"You've been watching too much,"

"Doesn't help that the shows are so eye-catching,"

"Get your head back in the game, here they come again!" Kurama pointed out.

"Right then," Naruto created a shadow clone and together they formed a much larger Rasengan before dashing towards the horde together while maintaining the larger spiraling sphere of energy "Giant Rasengan!" they thrust it forward ahead of them, jutsu doing its job as it grinds through the monsters no matter the form of defense that they put, Naruto and the clone continued to rush forward until the jutsu finally dissipated.

The clone grabbed Naruto and flung him into the air before dispelling itself. High above, Naruto gathered mana to cast a spell "Thunder!" he thrust a hand above his head, calling forth numerous lightning bolts to strike down on the monsters then landing on the ground as he switched out his pistols for the G6 Commando assault rifle "Shadow Clone jutsu!" he created another dozen copies with assault rifles in their hands "Open fire!" Altogether, they pulled on the trigger and rained down bullets on the enemies until they emptied their magazines before reloading with new ones and firing again.

Recalling what he had discussed with Kurama and Sora, Naruto channeled his mana through the seals he placed on the rifle which are designed to conduct mana/chakra, causing them to glow white "Shining Ray!" he pulled the trigger to fire a white laser beam which pierced through the horde of monsters.

Then a window appeared in front of him with new information.

"Looks like I've unlocked a skill, I was wondering why I didn't get any until now," muttered Naruto while he continued to fight after holstering the assault rifle and switched to the Hestia Knife.

Sora hummed in thought "Maybe the system had been observing how you fought and chose the best suited skill for you since you're learning spells from me and relearning the techniques of your past life,"

"Well, let's give it a try,"

No sooner Kurama said those words that an Orc Warrior tried to attack Naruto from behind with a downward swing of its sword, the blonde ninja darted out of the way when the skill activated and he felt his surroundings suddenly slow down with the sword attack being very slow before things went back to normal after five seconds

Seeing what had happened, Naruto grew even more excited "Oh man, this just keeps getting better and better!" he dashed forward with his blade and knife and was slashing in a flurry and was already utilizing the Inner Focus skill and becoming more proficient with it as the fight continues.

The 10th floor was starting to look like a warzone as Naruto was giving the monsters one hell of a fight as they are constantly losing numbers while the blonde ninja continuously pushes the creatures back and making sure that every last one of them won't survive from his onslaught.

As the fight was ongoing, Naruto was notified by his HUD with a message appeared before him.

[Alert: An Adventurer has appeared]

Seeing this made him check the AutoMap which was displaying the monsters as red blips and there's a green blip signifying an ally which is rapidly approaching his location, surprising him

"Huh? Someone's coming my way really fast and it's a friendly. Who could it be that would be crazy enough to come down here while a Monster Wave is still happening?" said Naruto, being too focused on what's happening around him as well as with staying alive while pushing the monsters back.

Soon he's got his answer when a Treant was rushing towards him then swung a wooden arm his way with intent to kill. Naruto was getting ready to put the monster down when something slashes its torso, instantly killing the monster with a number of monsters around Naruto sharing the same fate as the other monsters began to back off momentarily but they're enraged due to someone interrupting their battle.

Someone landed next to the blonde ninja who was surprised to see that it was none other than Ais Wallenstein who came to aid him.

"Ais? What the heck are you doing here?" asked Naruto confusedly and for good reason since he wasn't expecting to see her here of all places.

Ais looked back at Naruto with her sword drawn out "I was requested to help you as I was told you might be in danger,"

Naruto blinked in confusion and asked "Wait what? What do you mean by that? Who told you I was in danger?"

"It was your advisor Miss Eina, she was worried you would be in potential danger of someone who was planning a trap for you,"

Naruto was surprised that it was Eina that sent Ais his way to help him. As for the other reason of someone planning a trap for him, he can already assume she was referring to his Supporter Lili since he was aware she was planning to lure him into a trap but thankfully it never happened because of the Monster Wave that started to spawn here.

"I see…well as you can see, I'm perfectly fine all things considered. There's no trap that happened. The only thing that did happen here is this Monster Wave that this floor started to spawn up here," said Naruto in a casual tone, not at all worried.

Ais was surprised to hear that this number of monsters here is a Monster Wave which shouldn't be happening here on the 10th floor and Naruto just waved it off casually as if this is simply normal for him.

"Monster Wave…so that's why there are so many monsters here and most of them are high-ranking ones from what I'm seeing. I'm quite impressed by your ability to fight them off all by yourself,"

The moment she entered the 10th floor and saw a literal army of monsters and how the floor was starting to become a warzone which confused her as to who caused all this to happen which she caught sight of Naruto which he was getting surrounded by monsters and most of them are high ranking ones that shouldn't be spawn here. She immediately went to rescue him while assuming he was in serious danger until she stopped at seeing Naruto actually fighting against a wave of monsters without a hint of fear but rather excitement at going up against such odds. She'd watch him using everything he had against them, fighting like a seasoned warrior which surprised her at how he could be this strong.

She only saw him as an F-ranker and the only time she's seen him in action was his fight with Bete at the bar and won. She had never seen him take down the Minotaur which he actually did and then there's the Silverback which she was hunting it down however he too beat her to it. So, to finally get the chance to witness Naruto's prowess against monsters was something she never expected to see, especially him facing off against a whole Monster Wave with everything he has under his arsenal.

"Oh yeah? Well, I'm glad I can impress you. If you want to help, you're more than welcome to stay. There's more enough of them to go around since these monsters clearly don't know when to give up considering I've lost count of how many I've killed so far," said Naruto, playfully inviting Ais to join in taking on the Monster Wave "After all, you know what they say; the more the merrier,"

"I think I'll take you up on the offer, thank you for the welcoming invitation," said Ais with a small smile whilst brandishing her sword in preparation to go against these monsters. Plus, this is a perfect opportunity to see how Naruto fights against these monsters personally just to find out what makes him different from the rest and how strong he is that allows him to fight stronger opponents.

Kurama grinned "Oh ho, looks like the fun has just doubled,"

Naruto smirked "Alright then, looks like I've gained a teammate. That'll make things easier to rid of these guys. This will be our first team up together,"

Seeing that Naruto has a new ally with him, the monsters were enraged at this and charged towards them with clear intent to kill them both.

"This is where the fun begins. You ready?" Naruto inquired as he prepares his baselard shortsword and his Hestia Knife for combat in his stance.

"Ready" Ais narrowed her eyes in focus, body tensed to move.

"Alright then…let's go!" The moment he said that, the newly formed duo immediately rushed towards the Monster Wave as they began slaughtering the monsters effectively.

Music Start: Dynasty Warriors 7 OST; Crush 'em all

"Blizzard!" Naruto thrust a hand forward to launch a spreading burst of ice crystals towards a few Treants which temporarily froze them upon impact and he quickly made his next move while they were immobilized "Wind Style: Wind Cutter!" he swung his Hestia Knife in a flurry to launch multiple crescent waves of razor-sharp winds, slicing them into frozen chunks before moving on to his next targets.

On the other side, Ais was proving exactly why she was bequeathed the title Sword Princess as she literally dances through the battlefield with her sword flashing about, cutting into the monsters and decimating before they could even realize that they were already cut down. A pack of Dire Wolves attempted to sic on her after surrounding the female adventurer. The moment they pounced; Ais performed a spinning slash to take them all down in one strike before darting towards a group of Orc Warriors that attacked in anger.

Back with Naruto, he had just finished off another Orc Warrior by driving his Hestia Knife into its throat and followed up with several shots to the head from his pistol before leaping backwards and landing on the ground to seek out his next enemy. His ears picked up the sounds of clacking bones and metal clanging against each other, Naruto turned to see a group of about twelve undead skeletons donning metal armor while wielding various weapons such longswords, battle axes, broadsword, lances and shields with one being bigger than the others while riding an undead skeletal horse and Naruto was getting the leader's aura from it. Then a message appeared before him to read.

Naruto straightened himself after reading the information about these monsters "Looks like we've got some tough ones here, fighting undead soldiers always give me a sense of déjà vu,"

"Tell me about it...," Kurama thought back to the Fourth Shinobi War and how they had to fight resurrected ninjas which included the biggest pain in the neck that is Uchiha Madara whom he thought he would never see again but was proven wrong.

"Be careful, Naruto. These ones will be much stronger than the others," said Sora cautiously.

The blonde holstered his handgun and brought out the baselard to wield along with the Hestia Knife "I figured that as well, haven't felt this tensed since I first met Zabuza. Let's test the waters here,"

Naruto dashed forward while creating a few shadow clones to run alongside him as they quickly approached the Skeletal Warriors that stood at the ready to engage them in combat.

Naruto targets a Skeleton Warrior wielding a broadsword and shield and attacks with a slash of the baselard only for the Skeleton Warrior to deflect the incoming strike with its shield and retaliated with a slash of its own which he dashed backwards to evade. He ran around the undead in a circle before rapidly closing in and attacking with a stab from the Hestia Knife. The Skeleton Warrior prepared to defend with the shield but Naruto suddenly stopped his attack and somersaulted right over it and already casting a spell.

"Thunder!" he calls down bolts of lightning to strike the Skeleton Warrior while in midair before landing on the ground behind the undead, he held out an open hand as a blue spiraling sphere of energy is being formed before he charged forward "Rasengan!" the Skeleton Warrior attempted to defend itself with its shield but to no avail as the Rasengan is designed to grind through anything it comes into contact with which it did with the shield and went on to do the same to the undead itself, rendering it unable to continue battling.

Naruto felt the memories of his clones flow in mind, learning that they were defeated because some of the Skeleton Warriors teamed up to take them down and proven to be quite skilled in combat which made him realize that he needs to be more cautious when facing them especially since the leader still hasn't made any moves yet.

"I suspect that he's observing you while you fight in order to know how to face you," said Kurama with a small frown.

"Goes to show that he's more of a potential threat than the others, I'll need to beat the others quickly and effectively so as not to reveal too much about myself," thought Naruto, he turned to face the Skeleton Warriors and noted how the leader watched him closely while atop its skeleton horse

"Yeah, I definitely need to finish this quick. Shadow Clone jutsu!" Naruto created a shadow clone which is now standing next to him "You know what to do!"

The clone nodded in affirmation "Ready when you are!"

The original and the copy proceeded to weave through different sets of handsigns for various jutsu as they channeled their chakra for them.

"Fire Style: Dragon Fire jutsu!"

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"

Both Naruto and the clone in deep breathes then the former expelled a large stream of intense flames from his mouth while the latter breathed out a powerful gust of wind from his mouth. The flames and the wind fused together into a giant spiraling vortex of blazing heat as the two called out in unison.

"Collaboration technique: Firestorm!"

The combined jutsu consumed the Skeleton Warriors and their leader, trapping them inside a roaring vortex of flames with no way for them to neither defend against nor escape from it. Naruto stood there and waited for the flames to die out while his clone was dispelled. Eventually the flames dies down to reveal the Skeleton Leader barely while surrounded by the charred remains of the Skeleton Warriors.

Upon seeing this, Naruto got a fair idea of what had happened "Your fellow Warriors sacrificed themselves to protect you from the flames…have to give respect where it's due," said Naruto with respect, acknowledging their actions and willingness to sacrifice themselves for others.

Staring at Naruto intensely, the Skeleton Leader unsheathed its broadsword which has blue glowing characters etched into the blade and raised it above its head. From the charred remains of the Skeleton Warriors rose pale green orbs of essence which then transformed into ethereal swords that began to hover around the Skeleton Leader and its horse.

"It called upon the essences of the other Warriors to use them in battle, things have become even more difficult," said Sora with a frown.

"Let's see just how difficult," Naruto took out one of his handguns and fired several shots at the Skeleton Leader, suddenly one of the ethereal swords instantly reacted and deflected the incoming bullets "Seems like they can move fast enough to deflect bullets, a strong form of defense and now I need to watch for the potential of its offense,"

"It bears some similar concepts to Shukaku's Sand, best be careful," said Kurama.

"Gotcha, buddy,"

Naruto dashed towards the Skeleton Leader while continuing to shoot at the undead with the ethereal swords constantly deflecting the bullets before some of them flew towards Naruto then proceeded to hack and slash at him, the blonde ninja barely dodged the strikes with the Inner Focus skill kicking in and enabling him to dodge more cleanly "Blizzard!" he casted a spreading burst of ice crystals which froze some of the ethereal swords. However, the other swords actually came to their aid and shattered the ice, freeing them.

Backflipping several times away from the enemy, Naruto carefully observed the Skeleton Leader and the ethereal swords as he began to notice certain things about how they work together.

"I think I've figured it out, in that case…," Naruto created a dozen shadow clones that rushed forward with their weapons in hand.

Sure enough, the ethereal swords moved to engage them and clash blades with each other. The Skeleton Leader watched the ongoing battle but then noticed that the clones aren't trying to go past the swords but instead keep them at a standstill, this immediately put the undead on high alert then he sensed something above it and looked up to see Naruto diving towards it with a spiraling sphere in one hand and a glowing Hestia Knife in the other.

"You caught on but it's too late, Rasengan!" he thrust the attack forward with the Skeleton Leader barely raising its sword up in time to block the attack and trying to hold it at bay. The ethereal swords sensed that the Skeleton Leader is in danger to tried to protect it but the clones were ready to intercept.

"Blizzard!" the shadow clones simultaneously casted the spell and froze all of the swords which left the Skeleton Leader any defense.

Naruto smirked "A common strategy in a game of Shogi; either take out the pawns or keep them occupied so you can take out the king!" right as he said that, the sword broke under the pressure of the Rasengan "It's over, Flying Swallow!" he flashed past and landed on the ground in a crouch with his back facing the Skeleton Leader who stood still before its upper body slid off and fell to the ground with a thump soon followed by the rest of it.

Immediately afterwards, a message appeared before Naruto who went on to read the information.

"Whoa, I wasn't expecting to be leveling up so rapidly," thought Naruto.

"It has to do with your Falna; Burning Will, you gain twice the amount of EXP Points when you defeat enemies that are of higher levels than yours. So this Monster Wave full of high-ranked monsters is nothing short of an EXP buffet for you," Sora explained.

"Sounds good to me, the sooner you rank up the better," said Kurama.

"We'll talk about it later, let's focus on clearing out the rest of the monsters," thought Naruto, receiving nods of agreement from the others.

Naruto rejoined Ais and together they doubled down on the monster extermination as the duo took them out with the former's arsenal of ninjutsu, firearms and magic, and the latter's formidable swordplay. As they fought together against the horde of monsters, Ais started to learn more about Naruto along the way.

It wasn't long for them clearing out the Monsters Wave as they finished cutting down the remaining stragglers with Naruto killing the last Dire Wolf which tried to run away by shooting it with his pistol, doing this also earned him an achievement.

"Phew, glad that's over and done with," Naruto sighed with relief then he turned to Ais "Thanks for helping me, Ais. I really appreciate it,"

"It's no trouble at all, I was simply abiding to a request," Ais replied in a cool tone.

She has learnt quite a lot about Naruto in terms of his combat capabilities, tactical mindset and so more today than she ever did previously. It is becoming clear to her that Naruto's prowess is far greater than what his Status would say. But Ais is also curious about Naruto was using his magic spells; she was already surprised when she witnessed him casting without chanting then she saw him casting other spells by putting his hands together to form weird shapes. Ais had never seen anyone doing the latter to cast spells, not even Riveria..

"Umm...," Ais timidly called out to Naruto, feeling a bit nervous to talk to this mysterious enigma since before was due to the battle tension.

However, Naruto's attention was elsewhere as the Isekai System is alerting him about something with a window appearing before him.

"Lili's in trouble!?" thought Naruto, being alarmed by this and is even sensing her emotional distress.

"Don't just stand there, get going already!" said Kurama impatiently.

"Right!" he looked towards Ais "Thanks for the help but there's somewhere I need to be. So, I gotta go!" said Naruto as he's letting her know he's leaving.

Hearing what he said, Ais turned to Naruto "Huh? Hey wait!" But it was already too late as he has already left the area and making him his way to the upper floor in a haste for reasons unknown to her. Ais just stood there as she puts away her sword "Oh dear, I didn't get to apologize again,"

Ais was about to take her leave when she noticed something green and shiny on the ground. "Isn't that…?" she took a closer look which it turned out to be Naruto's green protector that must've fallen off of him during the battle against the Monster Wave.

Sometime after leaving Naruto behind

Lili had exited from the 10th floor and was making her way up to the 9th floor. She stopped momentarily to think of what she had just done and trying to convince herself that leaving Naruto behind was the right choice she'd made in order to survive, that's it's always been that way.

"That stupid idiot! Why did he choose to stay behind. This was not what I've planned to happen. I can't believe he would risk himself for my sake to get away to safety. He was far too trusting." Lili took out her hood as she chants out "The clock strikes midnight: Cinderella," suddenly, her animal ears started to glow before it disappears making her look like an ordinary human person.

"It's your fault all this had to happen, Master Naruto," Lili started to have flashbacks of Naruto's encounter with the guy she scammed previously "If only you weren't so nice to me…if only you had never run into him," She then was brought back to reality "No…it's too late for regrets now. I can't change what's already been done. Perhaps, it's better this way. He's an adventurer after all…and adventurers will reap what they've sown," She looked behind her "It's a shame I wasn't able to steal his knife and his weapons when I was given the opportunity to do so. Then again, I wasn't expecting a Monster Wave to appear on the 10th Floor. I could've taken advantage of the situation to seize his weapons but…a part of me felt like I shouldn't. Gah! Why did you have to be the exact opposite of what I wanted you to be, Master Naruto!? You were supposed to be just like the other adventurers I hate and yet…you went against the norm,"

She stared at the 10th floor entrance she exited out of and muttered to herself "Well…not like it matters now, he made his choice and I've made mine. If he wishes to sacrifice himself for me then so be it. Right now, I need to get out of here to save myself. I'm doing this to free myself in order to survive," She started to run as she makes her way to the 9th floor while not looking back "Despite my failure, I need to get out of this awful Familia. I don't care what it takes!"

As she's running while firing arrows at goblins, a part of her still felt hurt that at the thought of abandoning Naruto whom she assumed to be cruel like all the rest but it turns out he wasn't like them and that really made her subconsciously regret her actions on him as he went against the norm she believed all adventurers were like that she'd dealt with previously. He was such a unique adventurer she worked with and yet she left him to die and that'll haunt her for abandoning him after everything he's done for her and she repaid him by letting him die and was planning to betray him a second time which backfired because of the Monster Wave. She may never live with herself for getting someone who was nice to her killed despite him being an adventurer.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when she was suddenly tripped by something and hear a familiar voice belonging to someone whom she was hoping not to meet here in the dungeon.

"Well well, aren't I the lucky one," it is the adventurer she previously worked with and scammed later afterwards. Lili attempted to get up to escape but the adventurer ruthlessly kicked her down to the ground "You're a serious pain in my ass, you filthy disgusting Prum!" He then proceeded to kick and stomp on Lili which caused her more pain "You know you deserve this right?" said the adventurer as he roughly grabs her by the hair and lifts up while hurting her without a care "I kinda figured you'd be letting that kid loose right about now, all I had to do was wait and throw out a little net,"

Lili who was in pain and scared spoke "A-A net?"

"I mean there's only so many paths you can take on this floor you know, so I only need to bring along four men *laughing* but you just came straight to me didn't ya, little lady?! Now let's see what you got!" As he said that, he rips off of Lili's cloak then just drops her as he searches through the cloak to see what she's got under in there while Lili was just lying on the ground but then realizes that she has nothing of value in the cloak "What the…are you kidding me?! There's nothing in here!" He kicks Lili in the face hard in anger "You're telling me that you didn't steal anything from the kid at all?! You sorry excuse for a filthy Prum! You're useless! I should just stomp you to death right now and just leave for the monsters to feed on your corpse!"

As he said that with the intention to go through with his threat, both him and Lili heard a voice which the latter knew who it belonged to "Getting ready to start the fun without us buddy?"

The adventurer looked at the source which is the scruffy man he's partnered with as he's carrying a sack of something. "Oh, back so soon? You made some good time," Lili couldn't believe what was happening; her own Familia is betraying her and has partnered up with this adventurer whom she scammed previously "Can you believe this useless worm? She didn't grab a single thing from the brat. She actually let the kid go while trying to escape in hopes we wouldn't know. It turns out you guys were wrong as she hasn't been piling up the goods like you said she was,"

The adventurer was annoyed to find out that the pack mule didn't get anything valuable like she was supposed to when scamming the boy.

"Is that right? Well, that's a darn shame…that reminds me, think you can do me one favor pal?" said the scruffy soma adventurer as Lili noticed something moving within the sack "Since the brat has failed in scamming the boy, I'm gonna need you to give me everything that little brat got. Could you now?"

Then the soma adventurer tosses the sack at the adventurer which opened to reveal a headless but alive Killer Ant monster which surprised him and immediately threw it away from him while looking at the scruffy soma adventurer with anger "What the hell?! You idiot! Do you have any idea what you done?!"

The scruffy Soma adventurer sneered evilly "Yup. The wounded Killer Ant always sends out a signal to its kind. Any good adventurer should know that," As he says that, two more of his soma boys showed up while carrying their sacks which is filled with headless Killer Ants in them. Lili was in shock that her Familia was practically setting the guy up, revealing that he was being used right from the start.

But then she realized something which scared her even more "They must have drunk the True Soma Wine," She recalls how addictive the wine can be and had made it a point to stay away from it unlike the others that practically worship it.

"Unbelievable. Are you guys freaking crazy?!" Said the adventurer, realizing what's really going on as he's reaching for his sword which the three soma adventurers looked at him as if daring him to try anything stupid to attack them

"Come on. You don't wanna end up becoming dinner because you were too busy fighting with us now, do ya?" said the scruffy adventurer right as Killer Ants started to appear behind them. The three then chucked the sacks at the adventurer as the scruffy man said "It's supper time," while laughing as the adventurer knew he has been tricked.

He tossed a magic knife that belonged to Lili near her while yelling at them "You bastards!" He tried to make his escape through a path however that proved to be his last for Lili heard him screaming in horror and agony which she flinched then looked in horror as she sees a Killer Ant coming out with blood over its pincers which tells her the adventurer is dead. More Killer Ants started to come out in numbers while she just sat there quivering in fear.

"Uh oh, in trouble again aren't ya?" said the soma adventurer with an evil smirk "But we're all in the same Familia. So, despite your failure, just give me what you got and you'll be free to go," He then picked up Lili's magic knife "Unless…you think you can cheat us like you did yesterday. Cuz if you do…," he let his threat linger to let her know if she attempts to cheat her way out again…well, let's just say there won't be little of her left once she becomes Killer Ant food for them.

Lili was horrified and beyond afraid as she said as he sees the man grabbing a headless Killer Ant in front of her which she cowers in fear "Okay fine! You can have it!"

He then throws the beheaded Killer Ant away "That's a good girl,"

Lili reaches for something under her shirt which appears to be a key "My gnome safe deposit box…I traded the money for jewels and locked them in there," she told him where she kept her jewelry stored away without them knowing which the man swiped the key from her.

"So! That's pretty clever!" Seeing is how he now has what he needs, he laughs while grabbing Lili's hair to lift her up as she covers her face in fear and pleads him to stop

"Mister Canoe!"

The now named soma adventurer Canoe said "Have yourself a little look around…" Lili just obeys his command as she slowly removes her hands to see an infestation of Killer Ants swarming around the dungeon floor room in horror. "Not too pretty now, is it?" Canoe laughs at he and his soma boys' work.

"You know you make good bait," said Canoe while looking at her fearful expression which turned to absolute despair and horror at what he said.

"No!" said Lili, not wanting him to do this.

"Yeah," Canoe said as his boys watching her smiling without a care as he laughs evilly at this.

"But…but you said-," Lili was cut off by Canoe.

"Recognize any adventurers around here you made a formal contract with kid? Time you did something worthwhile. How about you be a good little supporter and support our asses out of here!" He then throws her at the swarm of Killer Ants which they backed off a bit as Canoe and the two soma adventurers made their escape and she hears his laughter grow faint while she lays there in pain.

"Yeah well…what else would I expect from adventurers? I guess this is 'fair' isn't it. I mean…it's what I get for deceiving Master Naruto the first time. It's ironic how I betrayed Naruto and then abandoned him to die. And now I get betrayed by my own Familia and left here to die huh. Seems like karma has finally caught up to me from my past actions…but either way…I don't want to just give up," thought Lili as she remains laying on her back with the Killer Ants slowly advancing towards her "Please gods, tell me…tell me…why was I made to be this way? I wish I didn't have to be so tiny and so pathetic. But everything's always been like that for me…," she then puts her left forearm on her head as she slowly sheds tears while reminiscing on her past which led to the life she's living in now while the Killer Ants are getting closer to her.

"I was so lonely. I just wanted to be needed by someone," She remembers how she always sat on the fountain looking so lonely, having accepted the kind of life she was living. "…But it's over now. I'm finally going to die. After a lifetime of helplessness, weakness, worthlessness…and loneliness…It's all coming to an end. Finally…I'm going to die,"

As she just accepts her approaching death, the Killer Ants are beginning to slowly draw closer towards her knowing it won't be long before they feast on her alive, she believes that the world truly hates her for her actions and this is her karmic punishment. In her last moments, Lili thought of Naruto and regrets trying to trick him again when he had forgiven her the first time and she repaid that kindness by guiding him to his death.

As she was about to accept her fate which is death, Lili had one last vision of someone which happened to be Naruto who smiles at her warmly with care.

"Lili,"

She opened her eyes with tears as she immediately realized what was about to happen as she mutters her last words before the Killer Ants are about to feast on her "I'm going to die,"

*Bang**Bang**Bang**Bang**Bang**Bang*

Suddenly, gunshots rang throughout the area as a majority of Killer Ants were suddenly riddled with numerous bullet holes before dying as Lili looked up and was shocked to the core upon seeing someone whom she was never expecting to see alive again let alone come to rescue her.

"Master Naruto…?"

Meanwhile at the Hephaestus's shop, Eina continues to convince Hestia while she continues with her cleaning duties and not showing any reaction to her words.

"Goddess Hestia please understand something, I strongly implore you to get that Supporter away from Naruto," said Eina imploringly.

"Can't do it," Hestia finally gave her response.

Those words took Eina by surprise "I'm sorry?" She was confused why she wouldn't do it while knowing that Naruto could be in danger by his own Supporter.

Hestia just smiled as she said "I'm afraid Naruto has already made up his mind,"

Back at the dungeon as Naruto is hacking his way through the swarm of Killer Ants with his Hestia Knife while using his Uzi to gun down many more approaching to attack them to protect Lili from further harm.

"He said he wouldn't abandon that girl no matter what," said Hestia, thinking back on the conversation they had last night.

Naruto stood in front of Lili as he readies his Hestia Knife and summoning his fire magic in an aggressive yet protective manner to protect her from the remaining swarm of Killer Ants as she just watches him in a new light that she never thought she would see.

"Hestia…despite everything, if that girl is in danger…then I wanna help her!"

Naruto immediately charges towards them as he's killing them effortlessly and efficiently, using the Wind Cutter jutsu to slice many into pieces with ease thanks to his increased level.

"I can tell she's very lonely…just like how I once was…just like you were before I met you. She's just like us who just wanted to be needed. If she's anything like us…then I'll do anything I can to reach out to her!"

Naruto just finished killing the last of the Killer Ants, panting a bit since he barely recovered from his previous fight against the Monster Wave not too long ago. Naruto turned to Lili as he said "Hey, that was a close call. Glad I've made it here just a nick of time. Are you alright?"

Lili just sat there as she stared at Naruto, thinking she's just hallucinating but he's really here right in front of her "Master Naruto? How did you…get back here?"

Naruto walked forward and kneeled down to her level then explained "Well…I have my ways to get around through all that smog. However, let's just say I had an unexpected ally from another adventurer who came to assist me with the Monster Wave problem. We teamed up afterwards and in no time, we got rid of them completely. So, I ran straight for you. I'm glad made it in time. Also, I wanna apologize for being harsh to you when I was only looking out for your safety so I hope you'll understand," Naruto then checked her condition and frowned in concern "Jeez, what happened to you by the way? You look all beat up like someone just kicked you around or something. Hang on, I have a health potion you can use that'll fix you right up,"

Naruto reach into his bag and pulls out a health potion which he hands over to Lili "Here, drink thi-," he didn't finish his sentence since Lili smacked out the potion out of his hand to shatter on the ground and spill its content "Lili?"

Apparently confusion and frustration has finally hit their limits as Lili starts yelling at Naruto "Why…I want to know why!? Why did you come back and save me when you know good and well you should've left me to die, Master Naruto?" Naruto didn't say anything as he just simply raised his eyebrow at this which Lili saw this and continues "Oh please don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. I know you were aware of what I was planning to do to you. I tricked you, deceived you, betrayed you, I was even planning to betray you again by luring you into a trap and steal both your stupid knife and those strange weapons just so I can sell them and make a little money! What is wrong with you Master Naruto?! I don't understand why you're so friendly with me! Are you stupid or something? Are you really that dumb?!"

Naruto tried to calm her down while sensing his Hestia Knife's displeasure at being called stupid, he calmly said "Ok clearly you're having a mental breakdown right now so why don't you just calm down oka-," but he was rudely interrupted

"I can't! How did you not notice any of it! I pocketed tons of money that should've been going to you! You were nice to offer 50/50 but I've split it 60/40! Sometimes I even made it 70/30! And whenever you asked me for items, I would always tell you they cost double! Plus I said awful and hurtful things about you behind your back! Don't you understand?! I'm a terrible person! I'm a fiend! I'm a wretched little Prum who's only ever lied to you!…But you…in spite of all that you still saved my life,"

Naruto nodded in response "Uh-huh, that's right,"

"Why?!"

"Well…I mean it's quite simple really. When I first looked you right in the eyes, I see someone who's screaming for help out of desperation. I knew the moment I met you, I can easily tell you've been alone for the longest time. You felt like the entire world itself was against you right from the very beginning. All you wanted was to be needed, to feel loved, have happiness…but instead, all that awaited for you…was pure despair. Even if you once felt loved and cared for previously even if it was for a brief moment, it was taken away from you which led you to the life you're living in now. So that's why…I wanted to help you…to reach out to you. Letting you know that no matter what happens, I will be the one person that would comfort you, to be the shoulder for you to cry on, protect you from anything that seeks to harm you,"

Lili who was listening to him felt so much emotions from his words while feeling confused from not thinking clearly from what she'd about to say next "You…you're lying! You have to be lying! Do you honestly believe some petty words is going to convince me!? I wasn't born yesterday! How could you possibly understand what I'm going through!? You probably would just say that to every female who's in damsel in distress just by wooing them with your words! Now you're nothing but a slanderer! A playboy! Pervert! Creeper…!"

Naruto simply let her insult him while he felt slightly offended by her last two words which he's definitely not part of the category, that's reserved for Jiraiya but that's besides the point "Lili…I want you to look me straight in the eyes as I'm about to say these words to you." Lili just did as he asked her "I will never abandon you; I will always be there to help you get back on your feet when you fall down, I will be the shield that protects you from anything that seeks to hurt you. So, tell me...am I lying to you?"

Lili wanted to say that he is because she knows liars very well for they never look at her in the eyes and tell the truth but the sincerity in his eyes were too much for her to refute. At this point, Lili couldn't take it anymore as she broke into tears and leapt into Naruto's arms and was apologizing over and over again while Naruto just embraced her as he let her cry into his chest

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"

"Shush. It's okay Lili, let it all out," Naruto spoke softly while patting her on the head to calm her down as she continues crying into him, refusing to let him go. Few minutes passed as Naruto embraced Lili until she finally stopped crying which he asked "You feel better now? Got it out of your system?"

Lili sniffled and nodded "Y-Yeah…I feel better now. Thank you,"

Naruto smiled "It's no problem. I'm just simply looking out for you. I think it's about time we get out of here and call it a day, don't you think?"

"Yeah…I would like that very much,"

"Alright then, let's get going,"

However, Lili was surprised when Naruto carried her in his arms in bridal Style which made her blush from this "W-W-What are you…?" she wasn't mentally prepared for something like this after everything that happened

"I'm just carrying you out of here since you're still injured and just finished having a mental breakdown so calm down and let me do this. Enjoy the ride while we leave," Lili was very embarrassed by this but could do nothing more as she nodded meekly and hugged him which made the blonde ninja smile "By the way…how did you get so injured? I doubt it was the Killer Ant swarm cause the bruises shown on you looked more it was inflicted on you…like someone have kicked and stomped on you a few times,"

"…," Lili didn't answer and simply she buries her face further into his chest while quivering in fear at what happened to her, confirming Naruto's suspicion.

"Seems like I was right…who did this to you?" Naruto inquired, wanting to know who's the unfortunate prick he may have to hunt down later.

Lili was silent for a bit before replying "It…it was the same adventurer you met before. The one who I previously worked with…and scammed him," Naruto then remembered about that skinny man who tried to attack her when he first met and then afterwards when he tried to recruit him to get in on the fun of using Lili as their pack mule for money.

"Really now…," said Naruto, he's already making plans to make that guy suffer the consequences.

Lili could tell what he's thinking "You don't have to worry about him anymore, Master Naruto,"

"What do you mean by that?"

"He's…dead. He was working alongside 3 of my Soma Familia members who in turn was betrayed by them and was…devoured by those Killer Ants my Familia brought with them…then my own Familia betrayed me when they used me as bait just to save their own skins without a care."

Naruto didn't show any reaction through his neutral expression but he did say "I see…" Well, at least he doesn't need to worry about the other guy he was planning to hunt down now that he became ant food…because now he's planning to hunt down 3 Soma members that used and betrayed Lili then just left her to die. This is something he's not gonna let go "Can you tell me their names or at least one of them?"

"Why do you want to know?" asked Lili confusedly

"Oh no reason…I just want to know who are the pricks that I'll be hunting down later. That's all,"

Lili became worried "You're not gonna do anything crazy, are you?"

Naruto smiled brightly "Don't worry, Lili. Rest assured, I won't do anything that would put you in danger,"

Lili wasn't sure if she should tell him but given what they've done to her up until now, how they abused her, used her, beat her and even made her life a living hell, she really doesn't care what happens to them as long she remains safe from them.

"Well…the one who orchestrated this was Canoe Belway. He's the guy who wanted me to scam you the moment he found out about me making my contract with you. He and his Soma adventurers were setting up an ambush for me after he found out I've been cheating on him with the money I stole,"

Naruto just nodded now that he has the information about him and will soon hunt him down to have a…few 'selective' words with him. But right now, that can wait. His first priority is getting Lili out of here "Thanks for the information. I appreciate that. Now let's focus on getting us out of here first,"

Along the way, Naruto then started to tease her with a smirk "Now that all this is over since I finally reached out to you, I hope this just means you'll stop trying to steal my stuff from now on, eh Lili?"

Lili just blushed at this and just looked away "Sh-Shut up about that already. I won't,"

Naruto just laughs at how she looked so cute "I know you won't, I'm just messing with you just to light up the atmosphere,"

Lili just silently nodded as the two walked through the dungeon in silence until she spoke softly "Master Naruto?"

"Yeah, Lili?"

"Thanks for…everything,"

"Anytime, Lili,"

Naruto has finally reached outside of the dungeon and noticed that it's now nighttime which meant they've been inside for quite some time.

Then he saw Eina waiting for him and went over to her Eina was waiting for him as the two talked "I'm sorry Eina. I didn't mean to make you worry about me and unfortunately, I lost that protector you gave to me. If you're upset with me, I understand,"

Eina shook her head with a soft smile and replied "No, I'm not upset. I'm just glad that you're okay as long as you're safe. But what are you going to do with your Supporter?"

Naruto looked at Lili who had fallen asleep while they were making their way out of the dungeon "I'm gonna drop her off where she can rest easy. She's been through a lot so she deserves to get some rest. Also, I heard you sent out Ais to help as I'm assuming you were concerned about me which might have something to do with my Supporter. I appreciate you looking out for me but I don't think you need to worry anymore. I believe I finally got through to Lili, so we're good,"

"Really? Well, I'm glad to hear it. If you say there's no trouble between you two then I guess I don't need to worry about it. At any rate, what's next?"

Naruto frowned at the question "Well…before I go home after dropping Lili off, let's just say…I'm paying someone a quick visit," he knows what he's planning to do…which is to hunt down a certain Soma Member that caused his Supporter years of torment and pain.

"This is gonna be good," said Kurama darkly.

"Indeed it will…," Sora was also smirk evilly.

The next day we see Lili sitting at the exact spot of the fountain all alone as she's waiting for someone. Everyone was minding their own business and Lili watches an adventurer run past her.

Lili was looked down in depression "He's not coming, is he…?" she started thinking that his words were lies after all.

"Excuse me, miss supporter," Suddenly she heard a familiar voice next to her "Are you looking for an adventurer?" Lili turned to her left and it was Naruto who showed up. She was looking confused, not sure if he was specifically asking her.

"Yes, I'm looking at you. You seem to be a bit confused, but it isn't all that complicated miss. I'm just your friendly neighborhood adventurer who's looking to find a supporter and I believe that you would make a great one," Lili couldn't believe what she's hearing as she recognized those words he's quoting from for those are the same words she originally said to Naruto before everything started.

"Master Naruto?" Said Lili as her eyes were glistening at Naruto.

Naruto grinned "Yup, that's me. Oh by the way, I believe this belongs to you," he reaches into his pocket and pulls out two familiar items which was her necklace and her magic knife she never thought she'll see again.

"Th-That's my necklace and my magic knife,"

"That's right. I hope you don't lose it and this time make sure it's safely secured,"

Lili doesn't know what to say as she took them back "But…how did you…?"

Naruto answered her "How I got them? It's quite easy really, I found Canoe and his stooges heading over to the gnome's general store and they were bragging about your 'death' while taking your valuables, even mentioning about a magic knife he took. One of them was wishing they could've had their little…'fun' with you before they reduce you to Killer Ant chow. So, I simply and 'kindly' ask him to return what wasn't his and he was so 'graciously generous' enough to hand them over to me,"

She felt disgusted with how they could've had their way with her which made her glad they didn't but the way Naruto worded his response made her shiver as he meant it in the opposite way.

Out of curiosity, she asked "So then…what happened to mister Canoe?"

Naruto just smiled as he said "Well…"

"Ugh…what happened? The last thing I remembered was…," Cane who had just woken began to recall what had happened last night.

He and the boys were celebrating their latest and were looking forward to drinking the True Soma Wine when they hand over the money they got from that pathetic prum girl when a blonde-haired boy appeared from out of nowhere who kindly yet menacingly asked him to return the stolen goods that wasn't his. Of course, he and his boys laughed which then turned into a fight the moment the strange boy threatened and attacked them with ease. The last thing he could remember was seeing the boys red glowing eyes and before you know it, he fainted.

"Huh? What the…!" Canoe realized something was wrong when he felt his body hurting all over and that he can't move either which is when he noticed that he's severely beat up; sporting a bloody broken nose, bruises on his body, busted lip and having a black eye. He wasn't the only as the two boys he's with are with him in the same boat as him. What really caught his attention is that he's tied onto a pole out in the open city like the two and was almost naked…in public.

"What the heck man, you lost in a bar fight or something?"
"With a physique like yours, I doubt you got a girlfriend. Hahahaha!"
"Mommy, why aren't they wearing any clothes?"
"Look away dear, this is what happens when you drink alcohol. Make sure to stay away from any,"

Everyone was passing by laughing at them, mocking them, parents covering their children's eyes from this. Heck, most were kicking them due to a 'Kick Me, I'm a Scumbag who uses others as bait in Dungeons!' Sign in front of them and making sure it's hard enough for them to feel the pain.

"Hey, someone get us down from here!" Canoe demanded as he and the boys struggled to break free from their bonds while yelling for anyone free them before noticing a note which left an ominous yet cryptic message directed to them.

You mess with me, you mess with the Kyuubi

With a nine tailed fox face which was smile in a mocking manner. Needless to say, he started yelling out in anger as he'll never recover from this embarrassment and humiliation and swore to find out who's the bastard that did this to them.

"…Let's just say he and his accomplices are little 'tied up' at the moment. Just a quick warning for them to watch their backs the next time they do anything stupid that'll warrant my attention. But enough about them, that's not important right now. The real important question is…would you be honored to go into the dungeon with me again soon…Lili?" Said Naruto as he extends his hand out to her.

No words can be said for how much he's done for her despite her awful actions towards him. Lili felt blessed that she was given a second chance to change her ways, almost as if the world has finally answered her prayers to be free from the torment she was forced to live in…until now. She slowly reached her hand with a bit hesitation, fearing that this was all a cruel dream but the moment she finally came in contact with Naruto's hand which he delicately grasped, she knew this wasn't a dream but reality.

"Sure…I love too!" said Lili in pure happiness as she finally found someone who would make her feel needed and loved. No longer she's living in that hell anymore now that she met Naruto. She's finally and truly free, all thanks to this kindhearted blonde adventurer. Naruto smiled back at Lili as the two looked happy whilst preparing to enter the dungeon together with clear consciences.

Somewhere in the dungeon we see Ais was going through the dungeon floors towards her true destination with Naruto's armor piece in her hand "I need to return this back to him and once I do; I can finally apologize to him,"

A friend of mine and I planned this out and figured to make things interesting by bringing in the concept of Monster Waves which I got inspiration from Isekai anime and Dynasty Warriors amongst other things like teaming up with Ais to take them on although would have been able to handle it entirely on his own since he wasn't even pushed to using Kurama's chakra. Anyways, the Inner Focus is basically similar to that of Witch Time from Bayonetta or Focus from Transformers Devastation which was designed specifically for Naruto who's known to always be a rushdown type of fighter in combat.

In response to one of the reviewers, Naruto has yet to meet a certain someone that would be able to develop the materials he has into something he could use. As for the feature which Naruto has unlocked, it will be revealed in the next chapter so be sure to look forward to it since it relates to the Achievement System.
