My Misadventures as a Hotel Owner
Chapter 10: Looming Shadows
As the sun begins to set which is casting an orange glow over the city for a beautiful view, we see Freya who sits on her chair at the balcony of her home with a glass of red wine in hand.
"That boy just keeps getting stronger and stronger, shining even more brightly than before. However, I wish to see more of his inner power but so far, I've yet to see him at his peak. Nothing seems to push him to go beyond his capabilities," said Freya as she thinks up ways to make him reveal more of his power that he isn't relying on.
You see, Freya has been secretly watching Naruto for a while and she watched him taking on a Monster Wave which comprised of high-ranking monsters on Floor 10. No normal E-rank adventurers would've been able to handle this many monsters, let alone high-ranking ones at that and walk away from it alive yet Naruto did so despite his prowess not matching his level and rank.
She watched him take down all those monsters which left her very much interested in him, even feeling herself fluster from witnessing his actions. She wishes to be more invested in his growth but her attempt to teach him magic was a failure which left her disappointed. Freya wishes to see him at his peak and push him to go beyond for his radiance in battle which is almost blinding to the point of being addictive for her.
However, she doesn't yet know how to help him draw out his inner power out into the surface. Her previous attempts hardly did much as Naruto has proved to be rather unorthodox in overcoming her trials without revealing so much. Freya muses on how she could make Naruto draw out the power that's sleeping within him, waiting to be unleashed.
That's when a thought came to mind…perhaps he needs is a challenge. A challenge that will put him to the test, pushing him to his limits, even as far as putting his life in serious danger. Of course, the Monster Wave was a challenge too but it wasn't enough to make him draw out more of his power. Plus, that girl from Loki's Familia provided assistance which made it less likely much to her annoyance. What he needs is an actual challenge that's enough to warrant him into drawing out his inner powers. Then suddenly she remembers something…back when he was previously an F-rank beginner; He encountered a certain monster down on Floor 8 during his exploration and it gave Naruto quite a challenge. Perhaps that is what she needs in order to make him draw out his powers.
Freya smiles as she's finally found what she was searching for "I think I finally found a solution that'll solve the problem. He needs a challenge that'll push him to his very limit. To increase his strength. And once he faces a challenge that'll put his life in danger, his true inner power will finally be…unleashed," she continues to watch the view while holding her drink still as the glass reflection is shown of the setting sun "I shall leave it to you, Ottar,"
The next day, we see both Naruto and Lili walking together since the former is bringing his Supporter to meet with his Goddess Hestia so they can meet each other face to face for the first time.
As Naruto was leading Lili to the church to meet with Hestia, he was glances at her or more specifically, her animal features. Back at the dungeon, he noticed she didn't have any animalistic features after saving her from certain death from the Killer Ants. He would've asked about it but given the situation she was in and everything that has happened for both him and Lili, he decided it was not the best time to ask question and shelve them for later. Anyways, Naruto's curiosity got the better of him and he started to poke Lili's animal ears which caused her to blush red and gasp at what Naruto is doing to her
"Master Naruto!" Lili cried out of embarrassment while covering her ears with her hands which made Naruto realize what he's doing and stop.
"Oh! Ah, sorry, I forgot," Naruto turns away from Lili momentarily but then looks back at her, his eyes again locked on to her ears and her wagging tail which made Lili feel self-conscious at how he's staring at her "It's just quite interesting, I never knew that you can do Transformation Magic," he found it rather similar to his Transformation Jutsu, he didn't think there would be a magic version of it here and Lili is capable of having that skill.
Lili who looked happy at seeing Naruto looking impressed about her knowing Transformation Magic as she spoke "Yeah, pretty neat right? And as long as people don't find out about it, no one will be able to recognize me. So, if I just lay low for a few days, they'll have to assume I died back in the dungeon,"
Naruto crossed his arms in response "Good point, that's probably for the best for now. But are you really okay with this?"
Lili nodded in affirmation "Oh yeah. I'll be happy as long as you know it's me because I don't really have anyone else. But anyway, are you sure you're ok with me and everything?" Naruto just stared at her since he knew what she meant by that.
She continued on as she spoke "I tricked you and I took advantage of you. I mean after you treated me so nicely and everything, Master Naruto. If you can't forgive me, I understand,"
Naruto listens to her with a neutral expression on his face since he knew she was still feeling guilty for the trouble she caused him. Despite that, Naruto believed there was still good in her and he managed to reach out to her which made the risk all the more worth it.
The blonde ninja smiled at her "It's fine, what happened back then is all in the past. You're free now so everything's fine. Let's just go,"
After hearing him say that, Lili should feel happy about it but deep down, she still feels guilty of her actions and blames herself for it. She looks down in regret but all she can do is nod.
Anyways, the two eventually arrive at their destination and Naruto brought his Supporter to his Goddess as she's waiting for them
"Hello, I'm Liliruca Arde," said Lili as she introduces herself to Naruto's Goddess.
Hestia replies "So I guess you're the one I've heard so much about. Naruto already filled me in on the entire story,"
Naruto who had his arms crossed while leaning against the wall said "Alright then, while you two get acquainted with each other, I'll be downstairs to make some tea for us. Oh wait, I just remembered we only have two teacups at the moment, don't we?"
Hestia had stars in her eyes while her twintail hair started to stand up as she said "Oh that won't be a problem, darling. You know I'd be perfectly happy to share a teacup with you,"
Naruto smiled nervously "I-It's fine. It shouldn't take me long to get through the dishes. I'll have it out for everyone soon," he quickly heads downstairs while Hestia groans in disappointment as her twin hairs falls down for being shot down at her attempt.
She then turns serious as she looks at Lili "Now then…there's something very important I want to ask you. So tell me, do you swear that you will never pull a stupid stunt like that ever again?"
Lili nods and spoke seriously "Yes, I swear. To Master Naruto and you too; you have my undying allegiance. You see, he saved my life. So I won't betray him, no matter what happens,"
Hestia stares at her for a moment then closes her eyes and said "Okay, I'll take you at your word," Lili sighs in relief as she didn't know she was holding her breath in the fear that Hestia wouldn't allow her to be near Naruto again due to her unforgivable actions towards him.
Lili watches Hestia sitting down before her as she says "I'm gonna be honest with you. You should know that I don't like you one bit," Lili wasn't surprised by this but it did make her look at Hestia due to her words. Seeing Lili giving Hestia the look, she decided to be blunt since she's giving Lili a piece of her mind "Well why would I? You played Naruto for a fool. You tricked him, used him, betrayed him and I bet you were planning to do it again a second time given the opportunity weren't not for the whole monster wave fiasco that spawned on Floor 10, right? And now of all things you are in my house. You've sure got a lot of nerve, Supporter." Hestia then points at Lili who looks down at the floor in silent guilt with one of her legs "And what's with that mopey look you've had ever since you walked in? I bet you feel guilty because Naruto's too nice to blame you for any of the rotten stuff you've done, is that it?"
"…," Lili didn't say anything in her defense because every word Hestia says is true. She does indeed feel guilty for everything she's done and she still does. Her actions weren't justified and she almost put Naruto's life in jeopardy all because he was an adventurer regardless if he was good or bad. To her, she hated all adventurers because of her cruel experience with the Soma Familia and other adventurers that treated her like dirt. She was always alone and nobody tried to help her when she needed it the most. Even when someone did try to help her at one point, the Soma Familia will ruin it just to make her life a living hell and as miserable as possible. Naruto was the only person who truly wanted to help her but her hatred towards adventurers didn't make her see that and instead used him for her purposes which led to tricking him into stealing his knife and ultimately betraying him which she almost got away with it. Then she planned to betray him again a second time but only this time, she convinced him to go to Floor 10 just for her to use Monster Lures against him she was planning on using just to keep him distracted long enough for her to steal both his knife and his stuff then afterwards she would ditch him without a care regardless whether his life was in danger or not as he's left to defend himself.
However, that all changed when the Monster Wave started to appear which changed her plan entirely. Although she couldn't use this to her advantage which would've put his life in serious danger should she use Monster Lures against him as this was happening, but she didn't. She went against it and just left him behind after he forced her to leave. Thinking about all that just made her realize just how much of a terrible person she is which she regrets fully. Had she gone through with her plan whether it be before or after the Monster Wave spawned, she would've surely gotten Naruto killed while taking his stuff and she wouldn't have cared about it regardless he was nice to begin with.
Lili closed her eyes shut for she couldn't look at Hestia in the face as she's reminding Lili of her guilt, then she heard Hestia said "Naruto's not stupid. Far from it. He's someone who's open minded and willing to give second chances to those deserving of them even if they think otherwise but he's not one to be taken advantage of so you had better be glad you've met him," Hestia who's finished lecturing Lili as she made her peace sighs in exasperation "Well whatever, if Naruto's not gonna hold you responsible then I guess I'll have to,"
Lili at this point continued staring down in shame and regret as her animal ears lowering down as well as her tail. She starts to feel like she doesn't deserve to be with Naruto after all the trouble she caused him. Heck, even though she was grateful for Naruto saving her, she also wished he should've left her to die as he had every reason to do so, but he didn't. Despite she was given a second chance at life, now she'll have to live with the guilt of her actions that'll haunt her for the rest of her life until she feels she deserves it.
There was silence between the two of them which Lili wouldn't dare to say a word as Hestia places her hands on her lap. Finally, Hestia broke the silence as she said "I order you to look after Naruto," Hearing that made Lili immediately open her eyes out of surprise and confusion as she looks up to Hestia which she continued "Make sure he doesn't get targeted by any more swindlers like you. And listen up, I am not doing this for your sake. But this whole ordeal has made one thing clear, someone needs to keep a look out for tricksters, else they might try to use him and he told me how he hates being used which doesn't end so well for those he judges unworthy of a second chance. You may say that you've had a change of heart but I want you to prove it to me with your actions. Can you do that?"
Lili who was feeling overjoyed at still getting the chance to be with Naruto, bowed in gratitude as she said "Yes, I will, goddess,"
"I'll allow you to be his Supporter but you'd better take good care of him or else…" as she finishes giving Lili permission to pair up with Naruto along with giving her an initial threat, both Hestia and Lili heard Naruto calling out "Tea is ready!" Then Hestia immediately got closer to Lili as she hears Naruto coming back upstairs "One more thing. Don't you dare get too close to him or I swear I'll-,"
She didn't get to finish her threat which made Lili sweatdrop at this in confusion, Naruto arrived back with a server tray of cups of tea in hand "Sorry for the wait you two-." Naruto didn't get a chance to finish his sentence as the moment he placed down the tray of teacups, Hestia immediately hugs Naruto's right arm through her boobs out of nowhere as she said "Hi Naruto!" Of course, her action caught both Naruto and Lili by surprise, especially Lili due to Hestia's behavior.
"H-Hestia!?" said Naruto out of embarrassment with his face turning red which Hestia said while smirking at Lili "Lili and I were just having a little chat; weren't we, miss Supporter? And she says she'll take real good care of you for me," She then turns her smirk into a smug look to Lili while in her mind "But don't you think for a minute I'm gonna let you waltz in here and steal him away from me. You little homewrecker!"
Lili felt like she was being blown away while feeling challenged by Hestia which shocked her and it didn't help that she's just being smug towards her about it. Lili frowned as she wasn't gonna back down from Hestia that easily for two can play at this game. She removed her cloak and suddenly out of nowhere, she too hugs Naruto's left arm through her cleavage which shocked both Naruto and Hestia greatly by this.
"L-Lili! You too!?" said Naruto, he couldn't believe what was happening right now. Even Hestia couldn't believe it and she didn't like it with how Lili is hugging Naruto that way.
"It will be my pleasure. I promise that I will make extra sure Master Naruto has anything and everything he could ever desire," said Lili which she then looks at Hestia with a determined look on her face before smiling while in her mind "I'll take out anyone who tries to stand between me and Master Naruto even if it IS a goddess. I'm not gonna loose to this floozy." Both Hestia and Lili just stared at each other with the former giving Lili an irritated look while the latter was just smirking at Hestia in a confident manner as her animal ears were moving back and forth.
Naruto doesn't know what to do in this situation since he's too embarrassed by what the two are doing "Uh yeah, about that…," he swiftly removed his arms out of both Hestia and Lili arms as he bolted towards the door like a bat out of hell while shouting out "I forgot I gotta run a few errands!"
"Don't go!"
"Master Naruto!"
Seeing that Naruto already left, both of them started to glare at each other accusingly. Outside of the church, Naruto who was walking away can hear the two arguing with each other.
"You just scared him away you little shrimp!" said Hestia angrily.
"What! Me!? You were the one grabbing all over him!" Lili countered.
"No, I didn't!"
Naruto looks back with a sweatdrop at this "That was…awkward,"
On the other hand, Kurama snickered "I disagree. That was hilarious. Those two were clearly fighting over you."
Sora didn't hesitate to put her two cents in "Indeed. It was very entertaining to see you looking so embarrassed by that. It's quite adorable."
Naruto sported a tick mark at this and said in his mind "Shut it you two, I don't wanna hear it!" As Naruto walks away, he can still hear both Hestia and Lili calling out for him to come back
"Naruto!"
"Naruto! Come back!"
As Naruto was far away from the church, he was speaking with both Kurama and Sora while walking through the streets.
"So, what's the agenda for today?"
"Well for starters, we're heading over to Hephaestus's Smithy to see if my katana is fully repaired. She mentioned it won't be long until it's finished,"
Sora added "And she also mentioned you won't even recognize it. It's gonna look completely different than how it was before once we see it's fully fixed,"
"Exactly, I wonder how different it'll look once I check up on Hephaestus,"
"Well, there's no time like the present. Best you move faster as soon as possible if you're that curious about it. Even I'm quite curious to see what it looks like," said Kurama
"Right," Naruto began to move a bit faster to reach his destination. He soon reached Hephaestus's Smithy as he entered inside the building. From there, he sees Hephaestus writing something on paper which she took notice of Naruto coming in
"Welcome Naruto. I take it you're here to check up on your katana as usual?" asked Hephaestus
Naruto nodded in affirmation "You know it,"
Hephaestus smiles and said "Well you're in luck. Your katana is fully repaired and I made it sharper and durable so it won't break easily, just as I promised. Let me go get it for you,"
She got up from her chair and went to go fetch for Naruto's weapon while Naruto waited for her return. It didn't take long for Hephaestus to return with his katana which Naruto looked surprised by its new appearance. The blade looked brand new as well of its undulating design.
Hephaestus who showcased Naruto's newly fixed katana spoke proudly "Here's your new and improved katana or as I like to call it; the Uchigatana,"
Naruto took the blade from Hephaestus as he marvels at its appearance which she wasn't kidding that he wouldn't recognize it at first. It's completely different than how it was previously. It's been given an Isekai outlook now. Also, he noticed that how his weapon feels surprisingly lighter compared to how it was originally before which is even more of a shock that his weapon was more than just fixed. Naruto took off its scabbard to see the blade and to his shock, he sees the blade itself has a long single-edged curved design. As he was examining his katana, his Isekai system popped up as a window appeared in front of him, displaying information concerning his newly upgraded weapon.

It feels some much lighter now and I can probably do more with it now without its weight in the way even though it wasn't an issue for me in the slightest but still. This is a serious improvement and I love it. Thanks Hephaestus," said Naruto gratefully.
Hephaestus smiled and said "It's no problem, Naruto. I figured I need to spruce it up a bit just to make it more unique of its own. This weapon won't break so easily this time so you don't have to worry about it for now,"
Naruto asked while he puts his newly reforged katana to its sheath "So, how much does it cost?"
"125 gold coins,"
"Yikes, kinda pricy. Don't you think?"
"Well, I had to not only restore the broken blade but also had to reinforce the overall structure to be able to last much longer and not break so easily like before all the while be able to contend with anything you might face in the future," Hephaestus pointed out to him
Naruto hummed in thought "Well, they do say that good quality is reflected in its value. Okay then, here you go," he then paid the required amount.
Hephaestus mentioned "And another thing, when you find materials in the dungeon. Be sure to bring them here and I'll be able to use them to improve your weapons. I might even give you a discount if it's something eye-catching,"
Naruto nodded in affirmation "I'll keep that in mind," he once again thanked Hephaestus which she smiled and waved him goodbye before watching Naruto leaving the smithy.
As he left the smithery, Naruto was heading to the Guild next while talking to both Kurama and Sora again
"Alright. Now that my katana is fixed. Next destination is the Guild. Anyways, what do you guys think of my newly repaired katana? Or I should be calling it right now, the Uchigatana,"
Sora answered first "I think it's an upgrade compared to what it was before. I can tell this new improvement will definitely let you do more damage than how it was previously. But we won't know about it until you tested out yourself to see how it differs from the original outlook of your katana."
Then Kurama voiced his opinion "Honestly, I was expecting something more but I don't see the difference. And to think my curiosity was all for nothing. While the design of the blade does look different which I'll admit it's a step up from how it originally looked, especially the blade bit, but I don't see what difference would it make,"
"Well, I thank you for your honest opinions but I guess we'll have to see for ourselves if getting this Uchigatana was worth getting fixed. I for one think this will turn out great and I can't wait to use it again. It's been a while since I last used a sword and I need to get back into the groove of using one," thought Naruto.
As he finishes chatting with Kurama and Sora, Naruto eventually reaches the Guild and upon heading inside to see his advisor but to his confusion, he doesn't see Eina anywhere.
"Huh, I don't see her anywhere. Where is she?" said Naruto as he's looking around but with no luck.
However, he heard Eina's voice from behind him "Naruto?"
Naruto turned around to see Eina sitting on a lounge chair with someone who looks familiar to him. Then that said someone turns around to face Naruto which turns out to be Ais whom he fought alongside with down on Floor 10 during the monster wave incident.
"Huh? It's you again," said Naruto not expecting that he'll run into Ais again after the whole monster wave business was dealt with afterwards. The two stared at each other for a while before Naruto came over towards both Eina and Ais at the lounge area to see what's up. "Hey Eina, Ais. Never thought I would run into you again a second time Ais. But Eina, what's going on?"
Eina said "Hello Naruto, me and lady Wallenstein was just talking about you. In fact, she would like to speak with you, Naruto,"
Naruto raised an eyebrow at that "Does she now? Alright, that's fine with me,"
Eina smiled and said "Wonderful. I'll let you two have a bit of privacy. I need to return back to my station,"
Naruto nodded as he watched her got up from her seat and went walking back to the receptionist desk to help other adventurers with something. He then turns to Ais "So Ais…what exactly you wish to speak to me about?"
Ais was silent for a moment before speaking "I wanted to speak to you about what happened back on Floor 10. Recently, you were attacked by several high-ranking monsters during the Monster Wave before I arrived, am I right?"
Naruto raised an eyebrow at this question but nonetheless answered her "Yes? What about it?"
Ais shows a familiar armor piece to Naruto which so happened to be his missing Green Supporter that he lost in the dungeon "I wanted to return this to you. I think you must have dropped it during the fight. So, I have picked it up,"
Naruto took the armor piece which she gave it back to him which Naruto said "Huh, I honestly thought it got knocked off of me while I was having a little skirmish with those monsters but thanks Ais, I appreciate it. But is that really the only thing you wish to speak to me about? Just to return my missing armor piece? I have a feeling you wouldn't just go out of your way to just simply returning this back to me on a whim and something tells me there's more to it than just retrieving my Green Supporter, am I correct?"
Ais looked at bit surprised by how Naruto deduce that very easily which she's impressed by this as he knew there was something else other than giving him his missing armor piece back. She then nods and said "You are indeed correct. I would also like to apologize to you as well,"
Hearing that confused Naruto as he asked "Huh? Apologize? For what?"
Ais clarified for him while she stood up "About what happened back on Floor 8. If I hadn't allowed that Minotaur to escape, you would never have had to fix my mistake and been forced to fight it in the first place that day," Naruto just listened her since he doesn't know how to respond at the moment and felt that she had more to say. So, she continued "I also wanted to sincerely apologize about Bete's behavior towards you at the pub that night. His actions portrayed the Loki Familia in a poor light due to his disbelief and I failed to stop him from continuing to slander you until the situation escalated further into that fight,"
She then bowed her head towards Naruto to express how sincere her apology is "I'm very sorry,"
Seeing this made Naruto feel rather uncomfortable, so he quickly said "No no, don't do that. Don't apologize to me, you did nothing wrong. If anything, I should be thanking you for giving me an opportunity to test my limits against a more powerful monster from the Lower Floors. Also, I understand you feel the need to apologize for what happened. If it was anyone else who had an unfortunate run in with that Minotaur, things could've gone much worse or they would have been killed by it. However, it was only me and nobody was hurt so no harm done. Now for Bete's behavior, don't apologize on his behalf. If anyone should be the one apologizing, it's him. He caused it to happen the moment he started slandering me and talking all that smack as if he knows everything about me. Had he kept his thoughts to himself then our fight could've been avoided but he didn't. He kept going on and on, and the fact he even had the gall to claim that I stole your kill when that wasn't the case as you were never there until much later after I killed that Minotaur and he tried to make me look like a fraud to everyone, he was clearly asking for a bloody beatdown and boy did he get one. It didn't even help he was a higher rank than me and was severely underestimating me because of my previous rank which made it all the more satisfying. I could've done a lot more than just giving him a few bruises and believe me when I say…I was holding back...a lot. If I wanted to, I would've ended that man's whole career as an adventurer and crippled him for life…or worse. But I didn't, I'm not one to hold a grudge so I let him off with a painful warning instead. Anyways the bottom line is don't apologize for someone's mistakes when they aren't your own. He's the one at fault for starting that mess in the first place no thanks to that big ego of his which I've pretty much trimmed down to its roots,"
Ais tried to insist "But, even so...," however Naruto wasn't having it.
"I appreciate you being considerate of covering for your friend's actions and I respect that, but Bete's the one who should be apologizing to me personally but I get the feeling that's never gonna happen so I don't expect him to do it any time soon. What I'm trying to say is, don't take the blame for others who don't deserve it. You're not the one at fault so you're fine,"
Ais was too shocked for words by how nice Naruto is from what he said. Never had she thought he was this kindhearted person that she come to know for a brief time. For some reason it made her heart feel warm since Naruto was telling her she hasn't done anything wrong which she feels much relief to hear and he doesn't hold it against her or her Familia, let alone a grudge due to Bete. Naruto watched her as she remained in her shocked expression while mentally thinking if he said something wrong but that all changed when she started to smile to which he smiled back.
As this was happening, Eina was watching them interact with each other and she overheard their conversation which she was smiling to see them getting along. Plus, hearing Naruto's words truly was something she didn't expect to hear from which made her feel proud of him and her interest in the young boy grew even more. Nonetheless, she's happy for them as they seem they've become friends now.
Anyways as both Naruto and Ais stepped out of the Guild, Ais spoke "Seems like you've been working extremely hard. You got all the way down to Floor 10 in a very short time. That's really great,"
Naruto rubbed the back of his head sheepishly "Thanks, but I've still got a long way to go. I know I can be stronger than how I was yesterday, would be today and will be tomorrow,"
"Is that so?" Ais was quite interested with his response, having never heard such a saying "In that case...can we be sparring partners?"
Naruto stood there, feeling both surprised and confused "Um, may I ask why?"
"...," Ais stood there, not having an actual answer and is now becoming nervous since she just asked on the spur of the moment "let us meet tomorrow at dawn at the Eastern ramparts, all will be explained, " then she quickly left before Naruto could say anything, whether to agree or disagree "I must find out how is he able to improve so fast," said Ais mentally as she's walking away from view.
"...that was sudden, then again it might be interesting," said Naruto thoughtfully
"Tell me about it, it's like she asked you before having a reason," Kurama commented.
"Guess we'll find out tomorrow," said Sora with Naruto nodding in agreement.
The next day at dawn, Naruto was sneaking out of the church while fully dressed in armor with his backpack and weapons as he's planning to meet up with Ais at the Eastern ramparts. Before leaving, Naruto left a note to let Hestia know he'll be out early and soon going to the dungeon later while leaving some breakfast he made for her.
"Well, I guess I'm doing this thing. Hope Ais explains to me why she wanted us to be sparring partners out of the blue yesterday," said Naruto out of curiosity.
Kurama commented "Well once you meet up with Ais, you'll find out for yourself soon. Best you get going,"
"Indeed. Don't wanna keep her waiting," Sora added.
Naruto nodded and started to run to get to his destination. Along the way, as he was too focused on getting to his destination, he failed to notice someone was running towards him through an alleyway which both him and the unknown stranger collided with each other.
"I-I'm so sorry!" said the stranger whose voice happened to be female.
Naruto who winced at the collision got up and went to go help the female stranger "Oh jeez, are you alright? I didn't see you there. Here, let me help you up,"
He extended his hand to her but stopped as he got closer to the female stranger, he noticed the female stranger's ears are long and pointy just like Eina and Ryuu's ears which tells him that she's an Elf. Plus, his inner otaku was being a bit influential on him from meeting another Elf which made feel giddy at this on the inside. However aside from learning this stranger is a female Elf, he also recognizes this particular elven person. He believed he's seen her amongst the Loki Familia group at the pub that night which tells him he's encountered one of the Loki Familia members.
Anyways while he was in his thoughts, he came back to reality as the female Elf accepted his help by grabbing his hand which he lifts her up from the ground and bowing in gratitude "I'm so sorry about that. I wasn't watching where I was goi-wait…i-it's you!" Said the female Elf as she began to realize who she bumped into. It was the same guy she recalled back at the pub that night. The fact she unknowingly bumped into him made her feel nervous because she hasn't forgotten what he did to Bete that night as she vividly remembers how brutal he was to Bete. Not only that, he was a lower rank than Bete which made her even more nervous towards him because how he managed to beat up Bete severely when by all counts shouldn't be possible at all when an F-ranker was up against a B-rank adventurer but he shattered that norm completely as well her belief which made it impossible and terrifying for her.
Naruto raised an eyebrow at this as he asked "Uhh…why do you look so nervous? Are you good?" Naruto was confused by her behavior since he can sense her emotions but he may have a general idea as to why she might be nervous towards him but he needed to be sure.
The female Elf was unsure about saying anything till she spoke up "Well…it's just that I…remembered seeing you at the pub that night when you…beat up Bete,"
And there it is; Naruto suspected this might have something to do with him kicking Bete's ass brutally which she must've seen the whole thing with the others. And he distinctively remembered how scared she was when she ducked down from the table to avoid being seen by him when he gave the Loki Familia a pissed off expression towards them after putting Bete in his place.
Naruto sighs at this and said "Oh boy, look I'm sorry you had to see all that. I didn't mean to make you feel nervous in any way, I just didn't like how that guy was slandering me behind my back and tried to make me look like a fraud as if he knows anything about me. The way he talked about me, made fun of me and even looked down upon me to the point of underestimating me due to our differences of rank, he was clearly asking for an ass kicking which I gladly gave him one. So don't feel nervous around me. I'm actually a pretty nice guy, I just rarely get angry if someone pisses me off like how that brute Bete did. So relax,"
The female Elf was surprised and confused by this. She thought that after him beating Bete up, he would come to dislike the Loki Familia members in general from his experience with Bete. So, this left her confused as to why he's treating her so nicely "What a strange human,"
Anyways as she calms herself down, she then remembered what she was doing originally and wanted to ask the human something "Say uhh…let me ask you something if you don't mind. Did you happen to see the Sword Princess pass by here?"
Naruto mentally raised an eyebrow at this question which he asks "Are you by any chance looking for her?"
The female Elf blinked in confusion but answered his question "Why yes I am," Naruto wasn't sure why she's looking for Ais but it must be something that's Loki Familia related or something.
Now he could tell her he's actually on his way to meet up with Ais at the Eastern ramparts, however both Kurama and Sora voiced their opinions on this
"Kit, I would advise you to not tell her about you meeting up with Ais,"
That made Naruto confused and Sora agreed with the Bijuu "I agree. It would be best if you don't tell her where you're going,"
Naruto asked "Huh? Why? What reason would I have to withhold this information? She's part of the same Familia as Ais and she's apparently looking for her. You guys don't want me to tell her?"
Kurama explained "Naruto, think about this. We don't know if this meet up is a secret or not and something tells me it is if this Elf woman isn't aware where Ais is then she didn't let her Familia know where she's gone. I suspected Ais doesn't want her Familia to know about this which is why she wanted us to meet up early in the morning at dawn. This is a hunch but it's plausible that it's the case,"
Sora then said while adding her input "And it's not just that. If you tell her where you're going to meet up with Ais, chances are she would no doubt tell the others of her Familia if they possibly don't know about this. So, it's safe to say that you don't need to tell her anything,"
Naruto listened to them explaining their reasoning and they both raised good points. If this female Elf doesn't know where Ais is and wasn't informed where she would be, then telling her is not an option. Plus, if he would tell her where Ais would be, the female Elf would get the wrong idea and might misunderstand the reasoning behind it.
After finally making up his mind, he said to the female Elf "I'm sorry but I haven't seen the Sword Princess at all I'm afraid. Anyways I'm in a bit of a hurry so I gotta go right now. Again, I'm sorry!" after he gave her his answer, he resumed his run toward his destination as the female Elf watched him go but for some reason, she would find that strange and a bit suspicious.
"Well…that's weird. I feel like that guy's hiding something. For some reason he might possibly know where Miss Ais is," As she thought that, she immediately picked up her staff and started to follow Naruto "Wait! You come back here!"
Speaking of which, Naruto was getting closer to reaching the meet up point but then suddenly felt someone was following him and it didn't take long for him to know who's tailing him "Why the hell is she following me!?"
"She must've suspected you might know where Ais could be so she decided come after you for it," said Kurama
Naruto groaned at this "Well that's just great. Now I gotta lose her before I resume where I'm going,"
Sora commented "That shouldn't be an issue for you. You could easily outrun her or hide to blend in which she wouldn't know where to look,"
"Yeah, you're right, I can, and I know exactly what to do,"
With a plan in mind, Naruto began to run fast which he could sense the female Elf doing the same to catch up to him. He led her to the different alleyways to confuse her as she followed suit. The female Elf searched for the human all over and checked which direction he went as she ran past a barrel which so happens to be Naruto having himself as a barrel for a disguise. Seeing he managed to easily lose her, he resumes his trek to finally meet up with Ais with no further interruptions.
Elsewhere at the Eastern ramparts, Ais could be seen being the first to arrive while waiting for Naruto to show up. While she's waiting for him, she was currently in thought to herself
"If I can figure out the secret behind his progress, it might help me get stronger as well. But wouldn't that mean…I'm only using him for my own gains?" She was thinking too deeply into this as if wondering if what she's doing is considered using him for her benefit or not. She disregarded those thoughts since she doesn't want to think that as she only wanted to see just how strong he is and what his strengths are "No. I only wanted to see his strength firsthand. It's the least I can do for the trouble Bete caused him,"
As she finished her thoughts, Ais hears Naruto finally arrive while catching his quick breather "Good morning, Ais,"
She did the same and asked "Good morning to you. Is everything alright there?"
"Oh yeah, I'm fine. No issue here, although I did have a run in with one of your Loki Familia members along the way which happened to be an Elf that's looking for you who tried to chase me down,"
Ais didn't show any signs of expression since she didn't understand it at first but might suspect who he could be referring to which she'll think about that later.
"Anyways, now that we are here at the Eastern ramparts, can you now please tell me why you wanted us to become sparring partners? You said all will be explained so…explain. What's this about?" asked Naruto for he was still confused and wanted answers.
Ais gave her answer "Well…I wanted to test your strength against mine,"
"Huh?" was all Naruto said, waiting for Ais to elaborate further which she did.
"You see, I wanted to know what makes you so strong. Ever since I saw your fight against Bete at the pub and your battle against a horde of high-ranking monsters on Floor 10, I've come to understand you're much different than most adventurers I've seen. The way you fight is unlike something I ever seen and I wish to experience it firsthand for myself. That's why I wanted to ask you if you're interested in us becoming sparring partners. To test our strengths against one another,"
Naruto listened to Ais's reasoning and comes to an understanding "I see…well then why didn't you tell me this yesterday? Of course, I'm ok with us being sparring partners. You could've just explained all this to me back at the Guild yesterday, I wouldn't oppose to this. What made you not tell me this? You thought I wouldn't agree?"
Hearing his question made Ais look away in embarrassment "Y-Yeah, maybe,"
Naruto just smiled at this and said "Honestly. Well like I said, I don't mind us as sparring partners. In fact, that's quite an honor. To be honest, I sometimes wonder how I would fair against you in a one-on-one fight. Given you're most well-known and how strong you are when we teamed up against the Monster Wave, I think sparring with you will be quite the experience and fun for me. As well as to improve myself harder which ever I'm lacking in the department. However, there is one question I wanna ask before we get started. Why me though?" Ais was a bit confused by this which Naruto explained further "What I mean is, why did you want me as your sparring partner? Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to become your sparring partner but what I wanna know is why me specifically? Couldn't you just ask one of your friends from your Familia or look for someone who's a higher rank like you but yet you chose me which I'm not in the same rank as you. Who knows, I might not even last long against you once we begin. So can you answer me that?"
Ais was silent while in thought of this question for a while until she finally answered "While it's true you're not a higher rank like I am and I could've asked my friends to become my sparring partner, but you're more of a special case. I believe you're more than capable of handling yourself against me despite your current rank. Your strength, skill and power speak differently about you when I first saw how you fight. If the feats you accomplish by both beating up Bete who's a B-rank and physically stronger than you which you manage to overcome and later taking on a Monster Wave which were high ranking monsters that no average adventurer should be able to pull off, then I'm confident you'll hold your own against me,"
Naruto was quite shocked by this honest and sincere answer from Ais that he didn't know what to say. He then said "Wow Ais. I don't know what to say to this. I'm quite flattered that you truly think that. I mean coming from you, that's high praise. But what makes you think that? Like how would you know I'll hold my own against yo-,"
Whoosh*
The blonde reborn ninja was cut off from finishing his sentence as he was forced to immediately and narrowly dodge an incoming kick from Ais out of nowhere as he backflips away from the attack.
After Naruto gain some distance after just barely dodging Ais's sudden kick, Naruto asked "Okay first, that was a dirty move you just pulled. Second, why?"
Ais casually lowered her leg while answering his question "It's quite simple. Seeing how you were able to dodge my kick just now through your reflexes shows you're still on guard at all times whether you're in the dungeon or up on the surface. Any average adventurer wouldn't be able to dodge that quickly let alone react in time but yet you did. Your fight with Bete and facing the Monster Wave proves that your strength far exceeds your rank allows you to fight stronger opponents,"
"So, in other words, you were observing me. You've been watching me throughout my fights to study my movements, strength and skills to determine how strong I am. That's why you're asking me for us to become sparring partners, just to test my capabilities against yours to figure out just how strong I'm capable of…am I correct?" Naruto inquired which Ais nods in confirmation at his deduction "Ok then. Again, I'm flattered but please don't pull that stunt on me again. I was lucky enough to evade that attack without getting kicked to the face,"
"Oh…I'm sorry," Ais apologizes
Naruto waves it off "It's fine. Just a heads-up next time. So, before we start our spar, is there anything you want to ask before we get started?"
"That's a good question. I notice you fight with your knife against tough monsters mostly now. I take it that's your main weapon, right? Or is it your sword you're now carrying?"
"Well yes, my knife is my main weapon but I also use swords as my secondary in terms of close combat. I haven't been using my sword since it was broken during my fight with the Silverback so I had it fixed until then. I'm planning to use it again through this spar that'll help sharpen my skills which I wasn't able to use for the time being to get back into the swing of things. For now, I'll start off with my Baselard, then my Uchigatana then lastly both for dual wielding,"
Ais seems to understand as she nods "Alright, that's fine. Now then…" She then draws out her Durandal sword while placing her scabbard against the wall and readying her sword "Let's see what you got," she gets into her stance while getting serious.
Naruto nods while turning serious as he immediately draws his Baselard and getting into his stance but not before silently reducing the level of his gravity seals to be able to move more freely. The two stared at each other in silence, waiting for either one of them to make the first move until finally, both immediately rushed at each other without hesitation and they clashed their blades together which signals that their sparring match has begun.

The duo broke from the clash and jumped away from each other, Naruto made the first move by dashing forward while keeping low to the ground in a zigzag pattern to make himself hard to keep a lock-on before attacking with a stab from the left side. However, the incoming attack was blocked by Ais using the flat side of her sword before knocking it aside and attacking with a roundhouse kick aimed for the blonde ninja's head.
Naruto swiftly ducked underneath the kick and countered with a low sweeping which almost connected if Ais hadn't jumped into the air to dodge then she descended with a downward slash. So her shock, Naruto onehandedly deflected the slash before grabbing her sword arm with his other hand then flinging her across the rampart with her quickly recovering by rolling along the ground and flipping to her feet.
Narrowing her focus and retaking her sword stance, Ais looked at Naruto who twirled his Baselard to hold it in a reverse grip and held it in front of himself with his eyes peering at her over his knuckles, those eyes full of determination and burning will to forge ahead with no sign of self-doubt.
"As I thought, he feels different compared to the others in spite of his level and rank," thought Ais.
Deciding to be the one to make the next move, Ais dashed forwards at Naruto and attacked with a flurry of onehanded slashes. Naruto took to the defensive as he deflected the incoming strikes with his Baselard, seeing that she excels in speed attacks which is similar to him but much quicker. He deflected a slash which Ais seized the opportunity to make his arm swing out, leaving him vulnerable for her to lash out with a roundhouse kick to the head.
Realizing that he had been set up with no way to defend, Naruto steeled himself as he allowed the kick to connect and he fought off the daze to use the momentum to spin then kick Ais right in the torso, resulting in them falling to the ground.
Naruto kipped up to his feet and stood in a stance, smarting from the hit to the head but still good to go "I've long since learned to take a hit in order to land one of your own,"
"Something you've done a lot in the past," Kurama pointed out, recalling how he defeated Kabuto by willingly letting the kunai pierce through his hand in order to pin him down for a Rasengan attack.
Ais also got up with her hand on her stomach, feeling the pain from the hit and was surprised by how he did so. narrowing her eyes in focus, she crouched slightly with her sword pointed straight at Naruto who took a step back and his body tensed for whatever her next actions would be. Naruto blinked once and Ais was already in front of him while attacking with an upward diagonal slash.
"So fast!" Naruto tilted his upper body to the side to barely evade the slash then his Inner Focus ability kicked in with his perception being temporarily enhanced before he went for a counterattack "Praying Strikes!" he attacked with an elbow strike to the chest with his arm wielding the Baselard before following up with a palm thrust via his other arm but that was blocked by the flat side of Ais's sword as she was sent skidding backwards from the impact.
"Even when being attacked, she quickly regains her posture to defend herself. She certainly has earned her rank," Sora commented.
"I know, I feel like I'm fighting one of my friends back home," thought Naruto with a nostalgic smile before calling out to Ais "You're pretty good, Ais-chan. I can see why you're a high rank adventurer of the Loki Familia,"
Ais nodded in response "Thank you, but there's a long way for me go to become stronger. Fighting you is making that very clear,"
"That's a good mindset to have, there's always someone out there stronger than you which is why you need to better yourself in order to face such a person. Now then…," Naruto put away the Baselard inside his Green Supporter before detaching the sheathed katana from his back and having it attach itself to his waistbelt due to a seal before drawing out the blade and taking a new stance with it "…let's resume,"
"Yes…,"
The two combatants clashed blades multiple times in a flurry, attempting to lay the pressure on the other. Ais displays a sense of grace and rhythmic dance in her sword style whilst Naruto lived up to the meaning of his name and past title of being an unpredictable maelstrom as he may have trained in Kenjutsu but doesn't follow a set pattern, just when Ais thinks that she has figured something about him then he suddenly resets all that by doing something else entirely.
Such a moment occurs as Naruto suddenly places his Uchigatana in its sheath and takes an Iai stance with his hand gripped the handle loosely and eyes locked onto her, putting Ais on guard.
"Is he planning to counter my next attack…or is that what he wants me to think?" thought Ais with narrowed eyes, seeing that Naruto not moving an inch from where he's standing then she barely heard him mutter something.
"Hien-tsubaki," Naruto sharply drew out his katana and actually hurled it at her while it spun horizontally through the air like a buzzsaw towards her. Ais quicky dodged the blade with a somersault then quickly dashed at Naruto and attacked with a thrust of her sword.
However, Naruto did something completely unexpected as he waited until the last moment to raise a leg and stomp down on the blade to redirect it to the ground, rendering the thrust attack completely ineffective. Then he vaulted over with a somersault to get behind Ais whilst catching the returning Uchigatana in midair before landing on the ground.
Ais spun round to face Naruto in shock of his maneuver which she had never seen before until now "H-How did you…?"
Naruto smiled in response "That was the Mikiri Counter, designed to counter any thrust attacks from your opponents and render then vulnerable for a counterattack. I wouldn't recommend using it against slashing attacks since that would result in your likeliness to lose your legs,"
"I see, how unique…," said Ais thoughtfully.
"It especially helps against those wielding longswords and spears, let's see you handle this!" Naruto rushed towards Ais "Whirlwind Slash!" he hopped into the air and spins his entire body while attacking for a 360 spin which Ais blocked with her sword whilst jumping backwards to use the recoil to launch her back before dashing at him and attacking with a series of quick jabs, Naruto gripped his katana with both hands and focused intensely on blocking the onslaught of attacks before backing away to recover his posture.
Naruto grinned "Alright, now we're getting somewhere!" he tossed the Uchigatana into the air as he unsheathed his Baselard to hold it in one hand in a reverse grip then catching the katana with the other hand.
Ais steadied herself, handing fought dual wielders before but knows full well that this blonde adventurer doesn't operate the same way they do and sure enough, Naruto proved her right as he attacked in different ways; whether he blocks with the baselard to counter by using the length of his katana or deflecting with the katana so as to lure her in to attack with the baselard, all the while he was combining his weapons with kicks and elbow strikes

As the sparring match ended with a draw, both were laying on the floor tired from their clash.
Naruto started to laugh "That was…the most epic spar I've ever had with you Ais. This was fun! I feel like I've improved and sharpened my senses more. Also, I get to test out my Uchigatana in this which is a big plus! I hope this helped you improve your skills as much it did for me. Let's do this again sometime. What do you think? Come back tomorrow early in the morning at dawn?"
Ais who was also in thought said "Yes, let's meet up here again tomorrow at dawn,"
Naruto grins at her agreement "It's a deal,"
Naruto who's still recovering from their fight thanks to his healing factor manages to get up from the floor but notices however that Ais couldn't get up so he walked over to her and stretched a hand towards her "Here, let me help you up,"
Ais looked at him for a moment before nodding as she grabbed his hand "Hm, thank you,"
Naruto pulled her up to her feet and lent a shoulder for both himself and Ais as the two leave the ramparts while the sun began to rise. Unaware that a certain female Elf who had just showed up at the ramparts below tirelessly still looking for Naruto all over the place
"Where is that human. You can't hide from me forever," the female elf looks up towards the rampart as she finally found the same human she had bumped into back at the alleyway, however what made her shocked is she noticed someone is with him there which it looks a lot like…! "*Gasp* That can't possibly be…" but to her disbelief and devastation, it was indeed Ais whom she sees with the human together, leaning each other shoulders in her perspective outlook which made her almost cry out of shock, disbelief, devastation and horror at what she saw.
Somewhere in the dungeon, we see a random Minotaur getting slain by a tall and heavily muscular man who's a beast man wielding a great sword with another strapped on his back.
"I'm not sure. I doubt this will satisfy her demands. It's not gonna be enough," said the tall man as he's left with disappointment that none of the Minotaurs he's slain has shown any interest at all to him. It doesn't help that most didn't last very long either which makes it more dissatisfying with the results.
Suddenly he hears loud footsteps coming his way which happens to be another Minotaur but this one looks a bit taller and it was wielding two different weapons; a double headed battle axe in its left hand and a large monster-made stone sword on its right hand. He also noticed that the stone sword the Minotaur is wielding has blood on it that's dripping off of the weapon which tells the tall man that the monster has slain victims of fallen adventurers who were unfortunate enough to encounter it.
"Hmph, looks like you got some backbone…perfect." Said the tall man as he sees there's potential in this particular Minotaur if this monster has killed a few adventurers which means he might have found what he's looking for. The Minotaur roared at the tall man as it raised its stone sword and attacked him, however the tall man catches the stone sword with his hand which held onto it as he smiles "Very impressive. I think you'll do fine,"
With those words, he then effortlessly crushes the stone sword with his bare hand with ease which made the Minotaur step back from this. Then the Minotaur tried to attack with its battle axe however again, the tall man blocked it with his great sword and knocked it out of the Minotaur's hand without effort. Seeing is how the Minotaur is defenseless without a weapon while stepping back again with caution which is thanks to the tall man's deadly prowess, he grabs his second great sword from his back and tosses it to the ground towards the Minotaur.
"Here, you think you can handle that?" asked the tall man as he watches the Minotaur glare at him then at the weapon he practically given it before reaching for the handle of the great sword and firmly grasps it. The tall man grins at this for he has finally found one that shows promise as the Minotaur's roar echoes throughout the dungeon floor.
Later that night at the dining hall of the Loki Familia's mansion, everyone was looking at something or rather someone instead of eating their foods whilst mumbling amongst themselves, particularly the Amazon Sisters Tione and Tiona.
"What's the matter with her?" Tiona whispered to her sister.
Tione shrugged in response "Beats me,"
The subject of their conversation happens to be the female elf from before who sat at the table with a look of depression and hardly taking a bite of her food.
"Lefiya?"
Hearing her name, she turned to see Ais looking back as her as she places her tray of food on the table and sits down next to her before speaking to her again with concern.
"Um, are you okay?"
Lefiya looked at her silently before finally speaking "Miss Ais…,"
"…?"
"What's with that human you met this morning in secret, huh?"
Ais was taken aback by the question then realizes Lefiya was the one whom Naruto spoke of running into this morning on the way to meeting her "Um well, that's…," she didn't know what to say without revealing to everyone in the dining hall since it's supposed to be a secret.
Her hesitance however caused Lefiya to misunderstand something as her eyes brimmed with tears then she started running out of dining hall while crying.
"Lefiya, wait!" Ais got up from her seat to follow after Lefiya with everyone watching all this in confusion.
"The hell was that all about?" Tione muttered.
"No idea…," said Tiona.
After finally catching up with Lefiya and taking her to a fountain to calm her down, Ais explained things to the elf so as to clear any misunderstandings.
"So, you invited that human to have a sparring session with you until we leave on our expedition. Is that why you were together?" Lefiya asked to clarify.
"Mmm hmmm," Ais nodded in affirmation.
"Then why were you leaning against each other?!" Lefiya demanded an explanation.
"Well, we both wore ourselves out due to the intensity of the spar but it seems that he could recover faster than me and so helped me out," Ais pointed out to her.
"I see…," but then Lefiya frowned "But what's with that guy being so rough with Miss Ais? Could he be trying to exert dominance over her?! But the thought of him having a one-on-one training with her makes me so jealous! The nerve of that guy!"
"Please don't tell the others, Lefiya," Ais pleaded, not wanting anyone to learn of what she's doing.
Lefiya jumped to her feet and faced Ais "O-On one condition, if you don't listen…I'll tell everyone!"
"What is it?" asked Ais.
"Please give me special training just like that human! J-Just the two of us!" Lefiya requested or rather demanded.
"Are you sure you'll be okay with it?" asked Ais, considering how intense her spar was with Naruto and wanting to make sure.
"You mean you'll do it?" asked Lefiya, wanting to make sure she heard clearly.
Ais nodded in affirmation "Sure, that's fine with me,"
Hearing that, Lefiya began jumping with joy "Yay! I get to have one-on-one training with Miss Ais!"
Next day, both Naruto and Lili are down on the 10th floor with the former taking a look around as if he's looking for something and also taking note that the area looks brand new as if his battle against the Monster Wave had never happened at all. He suspected the dungeon must've restored itself from the aftermath once both he and Ais cleared out the Monster Wave completely.
"So Master Naruto, how far are we going this time?" asked Lili out of curiosity.
"Not sure. I haven't decided yet on our destination but since we're taking tomorrow off, how about we just get as far as we can today," said Naruto since he feels this to be the best course of action at the moment.
"Thanks so much for doing this for me," said Lili because she's grateful for Naruto helping her out.
"It's no big deal. We just need to find you a room right. I would offer you a place to stay at my place but something tells me my goddess would be opposed to that idea for some reason, so finding you a place to stay is my responsibility to make sure you feel comfortable with it as my Supporter. Besides I can use the practice of testing my sword against live targets anyway,"
While the two walk together through the plains of the dungeon floor, Lili suddenly spoke up "By the way, we haven't fought anything yet so why do you look like you got beat up?"
Naruto answered "Well, that's because I did get beat up," he winced from the pain he's feeling on his sore body for he isn't fully healed yet from the recent sparring match he had with Ais not too long ago "Man, she knows how to put up a fight,"
"Well, she's not a B ranked adventurer for nothing," Kurama commented.
Sora was in agreement "He's not wrong, makes you wonder what she had to go through to get that strong,"
"I would like to know what drives her," thought Naruto as he was pondering about what motivates her. He noticed Lili was staring at him with a sweatdrop while giving him a deadpan look wondering if he got himself into a scuffle or something "Oh come on, don't give me that look Lili, I'm fine. It wasn't anything serious and I heal pretty fast so don't worry about this. Besides the pain only makes me stronger in the end anyways so this is nothing for me,"
Naruto suddenly gets a warning alert from his HUD which he's picking up a few monsters on his AutoMap that's letting him know they're coming their way. As he gets this, both Naruto and Lili heard noises in front of them within the smog which didn't take long for them to see multiple glowing red eyes appearing which then revealed themselves to be a group of Imps. Naruto immediately took out both his Hestia knife and his Uchigatana as he's getting into his stance.
"Stand back Lili." Said Naruto tell Lili to steer clear from this which she got the message.
"Yes, Master Naruto," As she runs away to safety within the smog, several Imps begin to surround Naruto from all sides preventing him a chance to escape.
Naruto who was on guard waiting for one of them to make the first move as they're slowly move towards him, suddenly an arrow appeared in front of the Imps which made them step back at this then it was followed by a rain of arrows coming towards the Imps which made them back away from getting hit.
Naruto turned around and smiled "Thanks for the assist, Lili,"
As Lili was firing a rainstorm of arrows from her crossbow for support, Naruto rushed at the Imps and started to slash them with ease killing 3 of the Imps. He then sensed an Imp behind him as it raised its claw on him which he immediately high kick it to death, then he did the same with the last two Imps when both tried to lunge at him from different sides which did little to nothing against Naruto. He sees 3 Imps jumping towards him which he takes out his Hestia Knife which started to glow as he instantly slashes the 3 Imps with precise precision which ultimately killed them.
"Come on, this is too easy! Is the Imps all they got to throw at me? At least try to make it a bit more challenging, this is nothing more than a simple warmup." thought Naruto, feeling disappointed that this is barely a fight while he instantly cuts down a few of them then use his Firebolt spell to reduce others to ashes.
"Tell me about it. I'm already bored watching you making mincemeat out of those Imps. Whatever happened to fighting high ranked monsters? That's more fun and interesting than this," said Kurama as he's just watching Naruto killing Imps with a bored expression and was considering just taking a nap once this is over.
"Well, the dungeon must've been recovered from sending so much high-ranking monsters to begin with and started to send normal monsters that's suited for this floor, so it can't be helped. And it's true, even I'm bored at this as well but I'm sure something mildly interesting might happen." Said Sora who's trying to lighten up the mood a bit.
"I doubt it, so far it's just Imps. I don't see anything else that would even consider worth my time at the very least," Kurama commented with disinterest.
"Relax buddy. Hopefully something happens that'll make this fun for us," thought Naruto while he looks at the remaining Imps that started to back away in fear.
Lili came over to Naruto and saw the Imps backing off temporarily praise him "Great job Master Naruto!"
Naruto smiled at Lili "Was there ever any doubt?"
Suddenly, everyone heard loud footsteps coming from behind the Imps which made Naruto have both his Hestia Knife and his Uchigatana up and ready in his stance while Lili aiming her crossbow at the direction the loud footsteps was coming from behind the Imps. It didn't take long as the footsteps was getting closer which showed that it was a group of normal Orcs approaching from view which the Imps regrouped with them in the process.
"Imps and now Orcs? That's quite the group they've formed." Said Naruto as he wasn't worried about the growing number they're facing now but refuses to let his guard down, knowing full well that arrogance leads to an early grave.
"You think maybe we should fall back and regroup now?" Said Lili since she's feeling unsure about facing this many monsters.
"No way. We stay here and fight," said Naruto as he's readying himself for a fight with chakra channeled throughout his body "Honestly, I would rather face off a bunch of high-ranking monsters again than this. I would even accept the Orcs high rank counterparts than the normal ones,"
As he finished his thought, Naruto rushed at the monsters and prepared himself to utterly slaughter them.
In an unknown dungeon floor, we return to see the Minotaur attacking at the tall man with the great sword that it was given along with its axe since the stone sword was destroyed but this adventurer was effortlessly blocking blows from the Minotaur as it continues to swing around with the great sword and axe but doing absolutely nothing towards the adventurer.
The Minotaur backed away while having drool coming out of its mouth as it's getting tired from swinging the two weapons around, the tall man was readying himself with expectation of the Minotaur to continue which it did just that as it roared out of anger and frustration, charged forward and swung both weapons simultaneously.
However, the tall man swung his great sword and disarmed the monster in one swift movement then he sharply reached out to grab the Minotaur's right horn and practically snapped it off like a twig which made the monster roar in pain as it fell back onto its ass while covering its face and his broken horn in agony. It immediately caught the great sword that was returned from the tall man along with its axe clanging onto the ground next to it as it looks at the adventurer who simply stated with authority
"Now get up,"
The Minotaur glared at him with hate while it remained sitting there only for the tall man to grab it by the other horn and kick its face which forced the monster to rise back on its feet and resume in swinging the weapons at the adventurer.
The next day which is morning now as the sun is rising from the horizon, we see both Naruto and Ais clashing blades at each other as they're having a sparring match. They continue clashing with each other until it ended with another draw which they took a break to catch their breath.
"Ok. I think that's enough sparring for now. I must admit Ais, you definitely don't make things easy for me. I had to be on my toes at all times against you," said Naruto as he's sitting down and wincing from his sore body being all over once again considering that while he's regaining his battle sense, Ais is starting to get used to fighting him.
"You don't make it easy for me either. Even I'm quite surprised and sore that you've managed to keep up with me and match me in strength and skill despite the differences between our rank." Said Ais as she too is sitting down while massaging her arm to recover a bit at some way.
"Makes you wonder how I was able to pull all this off huh?" said Naruto, slowly catching up his breath after finally taking a breath.
"Actually, it's exactly what I was thinking. Could you tell me something?"
"Sure. What do you wanna ask?"
"You're extremely strong. How did you manage to get that way so quickly?"
Naruto looked at Ais who stares back at him with rapt attention and intensity, giving an idea on how serious this question of hers is. He hummed in thought on how to answer her question for a moment before speaking up.
"Before I answer that, I'd like to ask you something…," said Naruto.
"What is it?" asked Ais.
"Are you seeking to become stronger for someone or for yourself?" Naruto inquired.
Ais blinked in at Naruto's question "I don't really understand what you mean by that,"
"What I mean is that do you have someone who's precious to you, those whom you hold close to your heart and truly value their presence in your life?" Naruto explained further.
"…," Ais looked down in thought, her mind going to all those in her Familia especially those closest to her and…those two…
She was snapped out of her thoughts when Naruto spoke up "A long time ago, I met someone who asked me a question like that and then he told me 'When a person has something precious that they want to protect, then they become genuinely strong'. Those very words latched on to my soul and stuck with me and I realized that he was right. Back then, I was in situations which by all rights I should have lost, but I realized that my loss would have led to those close to my heart being in danger with no one else to protect them. So, I pushed forward, refusing to back down no matter what and never letting myself give up or give in. Spells, sword techniques and all those things are nothing more than tools, what gives you true strength are the loved ones standing behind you and you'll fight with everything you have to protect them. That belief is what drives me to become stronger so that I can protect my goddess and all my loved ones,"
After hearing his words, Naruto and Ais sat in silence with the former looking back at his past memories with a nostalgic smile while the latter did the same but a more unpleasant memory.
She saw her younger self laying on the ground with darkness all around her. She looked to her left to see a brown-haired man dressed in adventurer clothes and wielding a sword before suddenly being engulfed in the darkness and gone without a trace.
"Father…!"
The tearful young Ais turned to the right to see a woman in a light green dress while surrounded by the darkness as well.
"Mother…!"
The woman looked back at her with golden eyes before being swallowed up by the darkness as well.
Ais desperately stretched out a hand, wanting to save them both but her body refuses to listen to her.
"Wait for me! Someday, I'll…,"
Snapping out of her reminisce, Ais suddenly yawned which caught Naruto's attention as she said "Ok. Now it's time to practice taking a nap,"
Naruto was left confused by what she just said "Huh?"
Ais clarified for him "Down in the dungeon, you need to be able to sleep no matter what your surroundings may be,"
Naruto just stared at her with a neutral expression and then said "Uh-huh…are you sure you're just saying that because you're tired?" he suddenly found Ais get up to his face.
"This is important,"
Naruto backed away as he said "Uh-huh, sure it is. Even if it is true, I have a better idea. An alternative if you will. Have you ever done meditation before?"
Ais stared at him for a bit and said "Meditation? No, what's that?"
"Wait seriously? You don't know what it is?" Naruto was surprised while Ais shook her head for she has no clue "I see…well perhaps I'll be the first to tell you. Meditation is essentially a technique that allows the user to enter a state of calm concentration to better channel one's inner energy, increase awareness or even enter a mode of consciousness which unties the body, heart, mind and soul to perform feats one wouldn't be able to do normally,"
"What kind of feats?" asked Ais curiously.
"I can give you three known examples; first is the ability to increase the rate of mana recovery which is better compared to sleeping, second is the ability to utilize your awareness to create a parameter around yourself that can detect anything that enters it, and thirdly is to circulate the mana throughout your body to enhance self-healing," Naruto explained, this was an offshoot of his training in Sage Mode when he was at Mount Myoboku. Fukusaku taught him that meditation helps greatly even when not using to gather energy for Sage Mode.
"Was that what you were doing that day when I found you at the dungeon?"
Naruto affirmed with a nod "That's right, I was able to recover my mana much quicker and also why I didn't react since you aren't an enemy,"
"I see…can you teach me how to do it?" asked Ais.
"Sure, it might be tricky at first but I'm sure you'll get it,"
With that said, Naruto began to guide Ais on how to meditate as he started by showing her how to sit cross-legged which she had never done before.
Once again back at dungeon, a broken tip of the great sword has just been cut in half by the Minotaur who successfully managed to break the tall man's great sword through sheer strength. The Minotaur was panting as it watched the adventurer examine his now shattered weapon while looking unfazed by what just unfolded before him
"Are you finished?" asked the adventurer, wondering if the monster had enough.
However, its response was a loud roar but he suddenly noticed the Minotaur's skin color changed from normal black to crimson red with its body increasing in mass which can only mean one thing…that the Minotaur has evolved and mutated as a result of the training that he gave to it.
At the Market District where all adventurers can sell their foods and goods freely. Naruto and Ais are seen walking around while the former inquired
"So where are we going now if I may ask?" asked Naruto curiously.
"I was thinking maybe we should get something to eat. You're looking kind of hungry," Ais explained
"What're you talking about? I'm perfectly fi-," he didn't get to finish his sentence as his stomach interrupted with growl which made him feel a bit embarrassed while Ais looked at him "Alright, I guess I am feeling a little hungry after our intense sparring session,"
Ais nodded in understanding "Don't worry, I'm quite hungry myself,"
The two stopped at a food stand, Ais started to order something for herself "I would like some fried cheesy potatoes, make it two please…," as she was ordering something from the stand, Naruto looked at the stand which to his surprise and shock to see someone familiar working behind the stand.
"Coming right up!"
It was none other than Hestia herself working behind the stand which she too was surprised and shook to see Naruto was here whom she just noticed but even more so who he's with right now
"…Oh and extra cream and a double order of beans too," As Ais finished ordering something for both her and Naruto, she just now noticed both the lady and Naruto was acting strange which she looked at the two in confusion while Naruto sweatdrop at how awkward this now looks.
The silence was broken as out of nowhere, Hestia immediately lunged at Naruto which took him by surprise "Excuse me! What do you think you're doing with her!? How many women does it take for you!? I swear, every day you're out with another girl and there's her too!" she then started crying causes a scene as everyone including Ais were watching in confusion which Naruto tried to get her to calm down
"What?! Hestia-chan, you got the wrong idea! Please just stop crying! Hestia-chan, calm down!" Few minutes passed as Naruto somehow managed to calm down his goddess while he took her to the nearest alleyway for him to discuss with her while Ais was watching behind him.
"So, it's only for two more days?" asked Hestia once she stopped crying for now at the moment as Naruto explained everything to her.
Naruto nodded in response "Yeah, Ais wanted me to be her sparring partner so that the both of us can improve ourselves before she's ready for the next Loki Familia mission. Please understand that it's only sparring. There's nothing going on beyond that. We're just exchanging knowledge that would help us become stronger in the future. So, I hope there's no misunderstanding and I ask you to let us remain as sparring partners until it's over. Is that alright with you, my goddess?"
There was silence for a while as Naruto was watching Hestia looking like she contemplating her choice which he can clearly tell from sensing her emotions that she's not ok with what has unfolded before her and she's debating if she should allow this or not.
While she's thinking, Naruto heard Kurama commenting "Geez, she's acting like you're cheating on her,"
Sora shrugged her shoulders "From a certain perspective, it would look that way. Or maybe it's because she has a rivalry with Loki which extends to those in her Familia,"
Naruto remained silent as he heard both Kurama and Sora voicing their opinions on this which made Naruto wonder how much does Hestia dislike Loki and by extension to her Familia?
Anyways he heard Hestia finally spoke up as she said "*Sigh*…Okay fine. If that's what it takes to make you happy,"
Naruto smiled at this "Thanks and also sorry about this,"
Hestia then focused on Ais who remained quiet the whole time and points at her "Listen WallenWhatserWho'sIt! if you start putting the moves on my Naruto, I'm gonna pull the plug on the whole thing, you got that?"
"Yes," Ais simply responded
"There's no flirting, tempting or touching, okay?"
"Okay,"
"And there's no way I'm gonna let you call dibs on Naruto; do you understand me? I saw him first, so he's all mine! Isn't that right, Naruto?" As she said that, she immediately jumped onto Naruto who was caught off guard by this again as he's trying to stay balanced while his face was getting red from getting smothered in Hestia's cleavage.
"Hestia please! Control yourself!" Said Naruto while he tries to pry her off him, however she was getting embarrassed as she can feel his face on her boobs which she reacted
"Aaahhh! I didn't say you can touch me there!" She suddenly pulled back while at the same time pushed him away out of embarrassment which Naruto was knocked down on the ground.
"Hestia, what the heck!?"
Ais then crouched down to Naruto as she said "She really looks after you, doesn't she?"
Naruto smiled softly and said "Heh yeah, she does. She's practically possessive over me. But that's just part of her charm,"
Hestia didn't like how they're so close to each other and feels her jealousy spiking as she growls and yells out while the sun is sets in the evening "What did I just say…DON'T TOUCH HIM!"
After the whole issue with Naruto explaining Hestia about him being sparring partners with Ais and etc, they returned back at the Eastern ramparts to resume their sparring match. Now that their sparring session is over, both realize it's now nighttime and decided to call it seeing that it's so late at night.
"Alright, thanks for the spar. Let's call it a night, I need some bit of rest to catch my bearings real quick," said Naruto while he's catching his breath to taking a break. Ais nodded while putting away her sword as she too is taking a break from their fight.
Both Ais and Naruto heard Hestia's voice from behind Naruto as she calls out while running towards him "You were amazing Naruto!" She glops behind Naruto for him to rest onto her as she holds him in her arms as she said "Whoa…she really did a number on you today, didn't she, my sweet darling. She wasn't holding back on any of those attacks huh. Just what I thought. That miss WallenWhatsItWho'sIt really doesn't give a darn about you. Nope. I don't even think she likes you,"
Naruto just smiled at this while feeling comfortable as he said "Hestia, that's the whole point of a spar. Of course, she wasn't gonna hold back any of her attacks. Then again, neither was I. It wasn't like I was gonna come out of this unscathed so it's to be expected I was gonna get roughed up by this. But that's just part of improving myself in the long run,"
As he was talking to Hestia, Ais was staring at them then looking over at the city which give a beautiful view but she wasn't looking over that though. No, it's something else entirely. After Naruto finished taking a break and his body feeling less sore, the three was walking down on the main street which there's no lights active as Ais was walking ahead while both Naruto and Hestia was following behind which the latter was holding onto former's left arm clinging to him.
"Ooh~ Compared to all the bright lights on the Main Street, this way so dark and mysterious," said Hestia.
Naruto just sweatdrop at this as he said "Uhh Hestia?"
"Hey Naruto, make sure you'll hold onto my hand nice and tight so I don't get all scared."
While this was happening, Ais was looking around warily like she's surveying the surroundings and expecting something to happen. Suddenly, she felt a presence from above and immediately she blocked an incoming attack from the attacker which turns out to be a male adventurer who's wearing a mask while wielding a scythe on top and a bottom spear.
Naruto was cautious while holding Hestia in a protective manner as he asked "Who is that? What's going on?" Then out of nowhere his HUD was picking up four more adventurers which appeared from above and surrounded Ais, Naruto and Hestia as Ais was preparing herself from this encounter.
"Naruto, who are they?" said Hestia, feeling uneasy by this.
"I don't know but stay close to me. These guys don't look friendly," said Naruto as he's cautious about these guys' appearance and one who attacked Ais whom he assumes to be the leader.
Ais was staring at her attacker while readying herself which the adventurer rushes at her with great speed as Ais draws out her sword to counter his attack by stopping it which the attacker looked angry and tried to swipe at Ais which she dodged as she raised her sword in the air and slashed at the adventurer's armor while Naruto and Hestia were watching this happening. The adventurer touched the cut he was slashed at by Ais which made him jump on top of a building along with the 4 unknown adventurers that are watching waiting for their leader's command.
The attacker finally spoke up "I have a warning for you, princess. Stop sticking your nose where it doesn't belong,"
Ais looked confused then she asked "What do you mean by that?"
"We mean be a good girl and stay in the dungeon where you belong, dollface. Know this, that if you try and get in our lady's way, you're dead,"
Hestia was holding onto Naruto nervously and scared while he wasn't liking what just happened as Ais was just stares at the adventurer and wasn't sure what to make of this.
Suddenly she heard the adventurer speak again "You there, boy," Ais looked behind her as the adventurer was talking about Naruto which he looked up at the unknown attacker.
"I'm sorry, are you talking to me?" asked Naruto
"Who else was I referring to? So, you're the boy our lady has taken a growing interest in. Hmph, in my opinion, you do not look all that much. In my eyes, you look like a worm that's beneath notice. However, I don't quite understand my ladyship's views so I want to see what makes you so special to our lady,"
Naruto didn't like how this random guy just attacked Ais out of the blue, give her a warning threat and now being looks down upon him while being called a worm beneath notice. But now this guy wants to fight him while he has no idea who he and his followers are or who's ladyship they're referring to.
"I don't know who you are or what's even happening so why should I fight you?" As he said that, the adventurer raised his hand and snapped his fingers which immediately, the 4 unknown adventurers jumped and attacked Naruto which the blonde ninja acted quickly as he grabbed Hestia and jumped away in time before the 4 could reach him. Ais who was about to help but 2 unknown adventurers kept her from interfering while the other two surrounds both Naruto and Hestia.
"I don't think you understand the situation here. You don't have a choice in the matter. You WILL demonstrate to me what makes you so interesting to our lady. If you won't comply to my demands…I'll make sure this night will be your last,"
This got a reaction to Naruto, Hestia and Ais by that threat, especially Hestia who looks downright afraid that this adventurer is threatening to kill Naruto should he refuse. Ais wanted to stop this but she's being blocked by the two unknown adventurers preventing her from getting to Naruto. Speaking of which, he wasn't sure what to do seeing he'll have no choice but to fight him since he's not gonna let him go. Even if he tries to escape, they'll follow and try to catch him.
He then heard the adventurer speak "So what will it be boy? I suggest you accept my demands for your own safety. And don't try to run because if you do, you'll regret it with your life,"
Naruto stood there before finally giving his answer "Fine, I'll do it," this surprised both Hestia and Ais.
"Naruto, are you sure? This guy looks very serious," said Hestia worriedly
Naruto calms her down "It's okay, I'll be fine. I'm fully recovered now so don't you worry about me, okay?" Hestia was worried for his safety but she trusts him as she nods. Naruto then look at the adventurer "I'll do it, but under one condition. You'll let my friends go and have them stay out of it. Do that, then I'll accept your request,"
The adventurer didn't waste time as he raised his hand and snapped his fingers which made the 4 unknown adventurers retreat back to their leader.
Ais came over to Naruto as he asks her "Ais, can you please protect my goddess just in case the guy tries anything funny?"
"Yes, of course. But are you sure you'll be ok with this?" Ais inquires with concern.
"I'll be fine. While I'm not okay with this, I'm sure I'll can manage. Just make sure no harm comes to Hestia," Ais wasn't sure about all this but she nodded in reluctance.
Naruto step forward as he pulls out his Hestia Knife and Uchigatana ready to get this over with.
The adventurer said "Now then, let's see what makes you so interesting. I'll try not to hurt you too much if you can withstand it long enough," Then he jumped from the building as the unknown adventurer and Naruto clashed with each other.

They both jumped back and gazed at each other then Naruto made the first move by dashing towards the adventurer with great speed who thrust his spear at him in response only for Naruto to tilt to the side to evade the spearhead and attack with a horizontal slash. However, the masked adventurer quickly pulled back his spear to block the slash with the pole before pushing the blade aside and attacking with his own slash via the scythe edge, Naruto pumped chakra to his legs and dashed backwards to quickly get out of range and take a small breather.
"He's fast and well aware of the weakness of using a spear, given his reaction time," thought Naruto as he looked at the masked adventurer whilst placing the Hestia back in its sheath for the meantime "Time to be a bit more hands-on,"
This time it was masked adventurer who went on the attack as he dashed forward then leapt high into the air whilst spinning his spear above his head before descending to attack with a downward strike, Naruto focused intensely as he waited until the last moment to dodge by performing a 180 counterclockwise slide around the masked adventurer to get behind and slash at his back, however his opponent held the spear behind him before knocking him back with a strong kick.
"Come on, boy. Is that all you have to show?" the adventurer demanded.
Naruto took in a deep breath to calm himself before responding "I'm just getting started!" he sharply closed the gap and attacked with his katana whilst the masked adventurer deflected with the spearhead then attacked with the scythe edge, they repeatedly attacked and defended back and forth.
Ais noticed that something was off then her eyes widened as she saw that Naruto was being backed up to a wall by the masked adventurer while unaware. She was about to call his attention to it when Naruto suddenly backflipped to plant his feet on the wall and stuck to it without using his hands like a spider, shocking everyone except Hestia who's aware of the skill.
Naruto kicked off the wall to attack with a dive kick which the adventurer quickly blocked with the shaft of his spear but skidded back a bit from the impact, the blonde ninja wasn't done yet as he flipped into the air "Gekka-zakuro!" the blade glowed as he slashed downwards but missed due to the masked adventurer darted and was about to retaliate only to be taken by surprise when Naruto immediately slashed upwards, propelling both into the air "Fire!" Naruto blasted the opponent away from him to the ground with a fireball then landing afterwards.
"Not bad…," said the adventurer while he gets back to his feet "Maybe I should try a little harder,"
"Blizzard!" Naruto thrust a hand forward to launch multiple ice shards towards the masked adventurer who easily deflects the incoming projectiles with his weapon as he draws closer to attack with a thrust of his spear, however Naruto utilized the Mikiri Counter to pin the spear to the ground with his foot before jumping to use the other to kick the adventurer in the head for a knockback.
"I'm putting an end to this!" Naruto returned the Uchigatana to its sheath and crouched slightly with his body faintly emitting a blue aura "Asagiri-rendan!" he moved forward at blazing speeds that he appeared like he was teleporting as he reached the masked adventurer then unleashes a merciless series of attacks from every direction in front of him; horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Such a technique is designed to give the target no opportunity to counter and rapidly wears their defense, but the cost is the required speed and stamina for it which Naruto is fortunate to have.

Naruto manages to push the adventurer back while harming him in the process, the blonde reincarnated ninja winces at the wounds he received from the adventurer's weapon. It was a tough fight, especially since this guy an A-rank which is higher than Ais, but he still held his own against the adventurer and that's nothing new to him given his record of facing opponents stronger than him.
The guy looked at the damage on his body and seems to be satisfied with something as he speaks to Naruto "Alright enough. I've seen enough of what you can do. I'm starting to see why our lady finds you interesting, you shouldn't be able to hold your own against me, let alone keep up with me and yet you lasted this long and even went as far as damaging me which is quite stunning to say the least. However, don't think for a second that I'm praising or complimenting you, I'm merely pleased with the results. So, congratulations boy, you passed the test,"
Naruto who was panting asked "Wait…this was…a test?"
"Yes. It is all a test which you surprisingly passed with flying colors. I wasn't expecting you to even last this long since I was holding back a bit to give you a fighting chance but that all changed the moment you were actually proving to be difficult. So like I said, you passed," He then jumped back along with the 4 unknown adventurers "I'll let you and your friends go, just a fair warning though, our lady expects great things from you so you better not disappoint. We'll be keeping an eye on you after what I've seen. So, you best get stronger in the future if you wish to protect your goddess and your friends,"
After giving out his warning, he and his 4 unknown adventurers suddenly vanished which signified that they left which made Naruto drop down to a knee from surviving this encounter.
"Naruto!" He heard Hestia rushing to his side worried about his safety as Ais followed suit "Are you okay? Please tell me you're alright,"
Naruto smiled softly in response "It's alright Hestia, I'm fine. I just need to heal and rest, that's all," Hestia nods and hugs Naruto which he hugs her back with comfort while he stares at the spot that guy and his followers stood previously unaware that Ais was looking at the same spot.
"Just who was that guy? And who even is their 'Lady' he keeps referring to who seems to have her sights on me? Could it be a goddess?" thought Naruto, pondering on what has transpired. He'll figure it out later since that's not important at this moment for now. Now he needs rest to recover from this.
The trio are back on the Main Street where there are active lantern lights as Hestia spoke while not feeling happy about what happened back there that got Naruto involved and was put in danger "That was too close, I'm very relieved they decided to back off and let us go after Naruto drove that guy away. But we got lucky this time, trouble follows your Familia around and it almost put my Naruto at risk due to your Familia's affairs,"
Ais feels guilty for getting Naruto involved which almost jeopardizes his life from this encounter, she apologizes at this "I know, I'm sorry,"
Naruto look at his goddess and said "Stop, that's enough Hestia-chan. Despite what happened, everything's okay now. Nobody was hurt so it's fine,"
However, Hestia disagreed "But you're hurt. You were dragged into her Familia's mess and it almost cost your life tonight,"
"Be that as it may, it wasn't Ais's fault. She wouldn't know this would happen so I don't hold it against her. Besides this only further proves that I need to train myself hard to the ground to prepare for something like this. So please Hestia-chan, just let it go for me?"
Hestia looked away with puffed cheeks "Fine, I guess if you want me too. But I'm only doing this for you, Naruto," Naruto nods as he appreciates that.
The trio stops at the middle of the district as Naruto said "Alright Ais, this is where me and Hestia part ways for tonight. Thanks again for the spar as always but we're gonna head on home now. I need a good long rest to recover from what has happened back there. I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"
Ais responds with a nod "Of course. Till tomorrow then,"
Suddenly Hestia grabbed Naruto's arm "Time for us to get home now, Naruto. To OUR sweet cozy home. That we SHARE!" She then holds him while pulling him away which forces Naruto to walk with her while feeling a bit dragged as he sweatdrop at her behavior
"Hestia-chan, please," Naruto pleaded weakly
As the two walked away to head on home for tonight, Ais turned back at the direction they left while she ponders over her thoughts "That ambush from earlier. I'm almost positive it was Vana Freya and the Bringar…from the Freya Familia. But why? And what would Lady Freya herself want with Naruto I wonder." She was in thought for a while until she realized what Freya meant before when she was describing this unknown boy to Loki "Could it be…that she was referring to Naruto and she's after him. What could it be that caught her interest towards him?"
Ais was now feeling worried for Naruto as she finally figured out what Freya meant. Whatever it is Naruto did whether it was unintentional or not, now Freya has her sights on him and it's usually not a good thing when it involves Freya herself depending how you look at it. She'll have to ponder this new revelation later. Now she needs to return home at the Twilight Manor to inform her Familia friends about this while keeping Freya's interest towards Naruto to herself to think it over later.
Somewhere in the dungeon where a growl was heard while seeing two dead bodies which belong to the members of the Soma Familia then seeing a great sword covered in their blood as the same Mutant Minotaur came into view while roaring.
We see Canoe being the only one left as he backs away in fear "The hell is this!? How is this possible? You're not supposed to be in here!"
The Mutant Minotaur slowly walks towards him with every step causing a vibration on the ground and making it shake. Canoe just stood there in fear as he immediately took out his magic knife and launched 3 fireballs consecutively at the monster which hits their mark while hearing its scream.
"I…I did it…I killed it! Hahahahaha!" Canoe laughed in relief that he was able to survive and he could care less for those that died since it was their own misfortune not his.
However, his feeling of relief was cut short as the flames dissipated to reveal that the Mutant Minotaur wasn't harmed at all as the fire magic wasn't effective enough. The monster then glared at Canoe as the terrified adventurer was shocked that it didn't do anything. And if that wasn't bad enough, his magic knife broke into pieces which means that was his last shot and he's defenseless to do anything against the creature. As the Mutant Minotaur was closing in on Canoe, the only thing he can do now is watch the creature in terror as the monster raised its great sword above him.
"No…no…no please…stay away! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Canoe's scream out of pure horror was then silenced as his blood splattered on the wall from being cleaved to death by the Mutant Minotaur's great sword whose bellow echoes throughout the dungeon floor.
This is Hussbek online with the latest chapter, things went like in canon except that this is Naruto we're talking about; he gets his katana back from Hephaestus which is the Uchigatana from Elden Ring since I find it to be suitable to be the reforged form of the previous one with an Isekai touch. I also decided to add in the Combat Arts from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice along with the Photon Arts as suggested by a friend of mine. Yes, I added in the minotaur but this one is definitely going to be different from the one that Bell fought, the origin of this inspiration came mainly from the God of War series and also from a few others which will definitely make things interesting in the next chapter.
