Majo Kon-ki The Marriage of Tanya the Witch

(The marriage chronicles of a witch)

Prologue 2

September, AD 1987, an orphanageon the outskirts of Hastings.

"Hihihi! Little Tanya… please make sure to behave well… during your… boarding school… admission interview!" The elderly Mother Superior, with unsteady legs and a stupid grin on her face, gave her advice before leaving the little girl's room.

"You did something to her, didn't you?" Tanya asked the other room's occupant.

"Don't worry, I used the confundus charm on her to facilitate our meeting. There won't be any aftereffects."

"I believe this means you are the one mentioned in the letter brought by the owl."

"Yes, again, I am Professor Severus Snape. It's a pleasure to meet you…" The dark-robed man said, his voice betraying boredom.

"Tanya Degurechaff. The pleasure is all mine…" The child responded, her voice reflecting the same boredom as his.

"Is she the dark witch or creature in disguise? She doesn't strike me as anything beyond a regular and plain kid!" The professor could bet this would turn into a waste of his time.

The day prior, Severus Snape was tasked with a mission: to uncover the true identity of a young girl involved in a recent incident, under the guise of introducing her to the wizarding world. Should he discover any evidence of magical alteration to her form, he was to report it to the Ministry. However, if she was indeed an unaware magical child, appropriate explanations to introduce her to their world would be provided.

"Am I at the right place? Maybe the owl was sent to the wrong child?" Based on what he had heard, he had anticipated someone more menacing, or at least a taller girl, not someone as small as she was, even for her age.

"Something wrong with my face?"

"No, I must admit, I'm rather surprised. You're nothing as described in the report."

"Report? Oh! From those amateurish soldiers?"

"Amateurish?! Those were hit wizards! The elite of the Magical Law Enforcement!"

"Really? Wow, if I was you, I would be worried for my own safety, I mean, if those seven are the best you can afford…" She remarked, accompanied by a snort.

"Is this impudent brat threatening me?!" He thought, shooting her a nasty glare.

The professor was accustomed to children cowering in fear under his glare, yet Tanya Degurechaff simply met his gaze with the same bored expression she had earlier.

"Could you please clarify what you mean by that?"

"Isn't it evident? Your people require improved management of their human resources."

"Human resources?!" The professor was beginning to understand that this child was, in fact, not an ordinary one.

"Well, let's get this underway already." He was about to start casting an Imperturbable Charm when she suddenly aimed a wand at his face.

"What are you trying to do?" Her unexpected wand, combined with her cold eyes, left him frozen in place.

"Where did she get- Oh! One wand from the hit wizards was never found."

"I was about to cast a charm on the door to ensure nobody can overhear our conversation." Quickly, she glanced at the door and back at him.

"You are free to continue, just make sure not to aim that stick in my direction!" Despite lowering her wand, her eyes didn't ever leave his figure.

While he placed the charm, he felt his opinion of her changing fast; she wasn't looking so plain anymore. Nevertheless, it would require much more to convince him that she was anything more than a clever kid.

"Now, let's see if you really don't know anything or are faking ignorance, I will use the standard presentation."

"Miss Degurechaff, you are a witch."

She frowned, evidently interpreting his statement as an insult.

"That's not a very nice thing to say to somebody!"

"!" He flinched, struck by a distant memory.

"Lily said the exact same sentence. Thinking back, she learned about this world through me…" Snape allowed himself an inward smile before shaking his head to regain focus.

"No, you misunderstand me. A witch is…" He proceeded to explain the existence of magic, emphasizing how those with the ability to wield it were wizards and witches. And that at the age of eleven, they began their magical education to become part of the wizarding world, a magical community separate from regular society.

The professor observed Tanya's attentive demeanor as she absorbed every word he said, his instincts telling him it was her first encounter with this explanation.

"Of course, there is the chance ofherbeing a competentactress."

"So, mages also- I mean, there are mages in this world and they live in some sort of secret society?"

"We don't use the term 'mages'. And yes, I suppose you could call us a secret society. We live separately from non-magical folk, or as we call them, muggles."

"You work with the British government to remain hidden? Or perhaps the UN?"

"We don't depend on muggles. Instead, we utilize a combination of muggle-repelling charms and secluded areas to ensure our affairs remain concealed from mundane eyes."

"You mentioned 'repelling charms' and before, you cast a charm at the door. Does this mean you can utilize magic for many other purposes other than warfare?"

"Hmm? She believes magic to bemainlya tool for war?"

"While, unfortunately, some wizards resort to using it for acts of aggression, the majority of us primarily use magic for our day-to-day needs."

"Oh!" The gleam in her eyes revealed her awe at the news.

"If she is acting, she is exceptionally talented indeed."

"So, you can essentially use magic for anything as long as you keep it hidden from view?"

"Not quite. There are additional rules, such as children not being permitted to use magic without supervision until they come of age."

"Is that why soldiers came after me?"

"They aren't soldiers; they're more akin to the wizarding equivalent of police officers. But, yes, they were dispatched to investigate an unidentified use of magic." This reminded Severus Snape that they had yet to address the most crucial topic.

"Actually, concerning that incident, I must hear your side of the story."

The incident occurred a few days ago when the Ministry dispatched someone to investigate signs of magic usage of unknown origin in the Hastings region. Typically, such cases involved common occurrences like accidental magic performed by Muggle-born children. These incidents were so routine the investigator was accustomed to identifying the child and letting a Hogwarts teacher handle the formal introduction. However, on that particular day, she was caught off guard by an unusual scenario.

It's important to note that despite almost six years of peace, memories of the war remained fresh in people's minds. Upon arriving at the site of the detected magic, an old and seemingly abandoned factory, the investigator witnessed flashes of curses amidst explosions and what she described as a high-pitched, malevolent laughter. It was understandable why the panicked woman chose to disregard protocol and immediately call for reinforcements from the Magical Law Enforcement Squad, rather than the Auror office.

What followed could only be described as chaos. Days later, the members of the seven-man squad were in no condition to offer a full report of the events. From what could be gleaned, they were taken completely by surprise, easily defeated, and captured. They found themselves ensnared in some sort of Acromantula web, hanging upside down as the perpetrator attempted to extract answers from them.

The most shocking aspect of this incident was that the culprit was identified as Tanya Degurechaff, a seven-year-old orphan with no known magical parentage, residing in an orphanage a few miles from the site.

Numerous assumptions were made about the young attacker, the most alarming being that she was a hidden Death Eater. Given Severus Snape's past affiliations, he was the obvious choice to investigate and resolve the matter.

"… and what exactly were you doing here in the first place?" Snape inquired, surveying the desolate surroundings of the abandoned factory. The place was shrouded in darkness, with a few rays of sunlight filtering through the numerous cracks in the ceiling and walls.

"Why? Practicing my magic, of course!" Tanya said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"Practice? You knew you could perform magic?"

"W-well, I always felt I was different from the other children. So, I came to this place to see how much, where no one could see me."

"These experiences can be terrifying for an unsuspecting Muggle-born. It's logical to seek out a secluded place to-"

"Wait! The investigator alleged someone was casting Bombardment Spells."

"You mean this?" She held out her open palm towards one of the walls, and a ball of blue light shot forth, creating a crater upon impact.

"Wha- !" Snape had barely concealed the shock on his face. The mention of practicing made him immediately think of a levitation or a summoning charm since those are the most common in cases of accidental magic. Never had he heard of someone successfully casting a wandless and nonverbal Reductor Curse on their first try at magic.

"I-is there anything else you can do?" He asked, already afraid of the answer.

She pulled out the wand from before.

"The instant I took this stick-"

"That is called a 'wand'."

"Right, the instant I took this wand from one of the wizards, I noted my mana became more-"

"Your what?"

"I mean my magic, it became concentrated in a single point, stronger. I didn't want to hurt those men, so I imagined something which would simply detain…" She pointed the wand and something resembling a spider web shot out at the wall.

"… and this happened." Once more, Snape struggled to conceal the surprise in his eyes.

"She learned to use a wand in the middle of a confrontation?! And a spell that shoots webs?!"

"For a second, I was taken aback. Thankfully, they were even more surprised than I was. So, I capitalized on it and quickly captured them."

"I see, she basically took them by surprise."

"Next, I discovered I could perform levitation, and I suspended them upside down-"

"Why would you do that?!"

"It was a tactical decision. Unsure of what was happening or who they were, I needed answers. And I figured if they were frightened enough, they might be more inclined to talk."

"A-and…?"

"… didn't work. Although they were trembling and crying, they didn't say a single word!" Her words carried a hint of frustration.

"That's because hit wizards take several Unbreakable Vows. They wouldn't talk, no matter how much they feared you."

"Unbreakable vow? Is that some sort of hypnotic state? Do they simply forget what they know?"

"No, it's a form of binding magical contract. In this instance, they vowed not to disclose any information in the event of capture. They were obligated to remain silent, no matter what, or the broken vow would result in their death."

"Wahh… Magic is surely a convenient thing in this world!"

"'This world'?" He was puzzled as she kept referring to the world as if there was another.

"Err, I-I mean, your world, the wizarding world!"

"Oh? And then? What did you do next?"

"As it seemed fruitless to try to extract information from them, I left. After all, I was completely in the dark about who they were and what they wanted with me. Plus, there was the possibility that someone might come looking for them."

"Smart move. Another team was dispatched whenthe first one failed to report back."

"Was that all?"

"Yes. I hurried back to the orphanage, constantly checking behind me to see if I was being followed, which I wasn't. The next day, an owl flew to my window, carrying a message in its talons. It stated that a teacher would be coming to speak with me."

"… right." In his mind, Snape could summarize: this young Muggle-born came here to discover her own magic, and realizing she could cast the Reductor Curse (on her first try), defended herself by defeating seven fully-grown wizards- or rather, she completely outmatched seven seasoned hit wizards with such proficiency that they were captured, their pride the sole casualty. And let's not disregard how amidst the battle's chaos, she also learned to cast a sort of web along with the levitation charm, allowing her to escape while anticipating reinforcements were en route.

"HOW IN BLAZE'S NAME AM I GOING TO REPORT THIS??" He concluded no one would believe him, considering how it was the most fantastic tale since the defeat of the Dark Lord by an infant.

"It would be simpler to assume I'm covering for a fellow Death Eater!" As difficult as it was to acknowledge, he had to confess he had been mistaken; there was more to this child than met the eye.

"There is the chance she is some sort of genius…" Although, he was more inclined to believe the claim of her being a dangerous criminal in disguise.

"Anyway, why guess while I can SEE for myself?" It was the moment to show another reason he had been selected for this assignment.

"Excuse me, could you start over and explain everything from the beginning?" Severus Snape asked her, his mind already plotting the next course of action.

"There is nothing a mere child can do to stop a skillful Legilimens…"

"Everything?!"

"… and if she blocks me with occlumency, it will be all the proof I need that she is an experienced witch!"

"Yes, if you please?"

Reluctantly, Tanya nodded. As she turned her back to him, gesturing towards the entrance of the ruined factory, she prepared to recount her tale. This slight diversion was all the professor required to silently cast his spell.

"Show me who you truly are! Legilimens!"

"I found this place because it was on the way from school…"

Snape extended his consciousness towards Tanya, but just before he could reach her, his mind encountered a sudden resistance as if slamming into an invisible barrier, while simultaneously, a flash of light erupted around the girl.

"I was blocked?!" He was stunned by this entirely unexpected turn of events. The young girl didn't employ Occlumency; rather, she was protected by a form of self-triggering shield charm.

"YIKES! The heck was- !" Across the room, Tanya was as astonished as he had been, only she quickly recovered and shifted into a defensive stance.

Severus Snape cursed inwardly, finding himself obliged to draw his own wand at her.

For an entire minute, they held each other's gaze in complete silence, each waiting for the other to act. Eventually, it was the professor who ended the standoff.

"Listen, I-"

"YOU TRIED TO ATTACK ME FROM BEHIND! CONFESS!" She shouted, her anger unmasked for all to see.

"… no, I tried the legilimency spell, a charm that allows the caster to see memories, emotions, and thoughts."

"You… WANTED TO INVADE MY MIND?!"

He involuntarily took a step back, observing her escalating anger.

"This is the primary reason I was summoned to meet you, to ascertain whether you pose a threat to magical Britain."

"What are you talking about?! Why would I be a threat-"

"You are exceedingly uncommon!" Snape let out, reclaiming a measure of his courage.

"It's utterly unprecedented for a novice in magic to apprehend a skilled and grown wizard, let alone seven of them!"

She blinked at his response, yet remained unphased.

"Don't you dare lay blame on me! It was your lot who dispatched soldiers, perhaps to abduct or even murder me, and now you try to invade my mind?! Some might interpret this as a declaration of war!"

The word 'war' made him acutely aware of how precarious his situation had become.

"Please understand, I must verify your identity…" In an effort to calm her, he loosened his grip on his wand.

"… because if I don't, the Ministry will dispatch Aurors next, possibly accompanied by additional hit wizards. They will persist in pursuing you, and I doubt you can continue catching them off guard."

"Put simply, you're saying I have no choice!"

"I promise that anything I see in your mind-"

"NO!" An unexpected scream of fear came from her.

"N-no one is going to… against my will… ever again…" She trembled visibly, her whispers barely audible to him.

He contemplated seizing the opportunity to stun her, however, she maintained her guard, despite the fact she was shaking so intensely that her legs seemed ready to give way.

"Her reaction… bears resemblance to that of someone enduring severe psychological trauma." Snape was familiar with such a condition; many wizards and witches experienced it as a result of the last war.

"Can you check without having to see into my mind?" Before he could inquire, she proposed this in a commanding tone, regaining her composed demeanor.

He was baffled by the abrupt change and decided to make a mental note to inquire about it later, should the chance present itself.

"There are alternative means, yes. I'll need a piece of you. A small lock of your hair shall suffice."

"Fine. But if you try anything like that a second time, I will not go easy on you!" Despite the threat, Severus Snape let out a huge sigh of relief.

Taking a few strands of her hair, he began his examination. He initiated with the Revelio charm, scanning for signs of transfiguration. Regardless, no change was detected.

"Hmm?Did she take measures to prevent exposure?Perhaps, multiple layered spells?" With those considerations in mind, he applied the general counter-spell to nullify any potential enchantments. All the same, under his vigilant gaze, there remained no alteration.

Next, the professor exhausted every spell he could remember, searching for any sign of anomaly, any magical influence… despite this, the strands of hair remained unaltered. Finally, he produced a few vials from his pocket, trusting in his expertise as a potions master to uncover the truth. The results were, once more, the same.

"THIS CAN'T BE!" His astonishment compelled him to let out an involuntary shout.

"What? Something wrong?!" Though she had been silent throughout the examination, his shout prompted a reaction from her, a touch of worry evident in her voice.

"Nothing! Nothing at all! No polyjuice, no transfiguration spell. Y-you truly are just a seven-year-old little girl!"

She exhaled deeply, as though relieved for some reason.

"O-of course I am! What were you thinking?! That I was a monster and the hair would turn into tentacles?!"

"To tell the truth, yes- pffff!" Snape burst into a hearty laugh.

"The Hit Wizards accused you of being a dangerous witch in disguise, possibly a Death Eater! Some went so far as to suggest you were an Acromantula transfigured into a human! HAHAHA!" He could imagine the Minister's incredulous expression upon discovering how seven fully grown Hit Wizards were so terrified of a scrawny little girl.

"HAHAHA! Merlin! I myself was starting to think that Lestrange got out of Azkaban without anybody noticing!" Snape couldn't recollect laughing so genuinely before. Part of it was due to the relief of not being alone with a dangerous criminal.

"Hold on, why am I laughing?!" It dawned on him that if this girl wields so much power at a young age, upon completing her magical education, she could become a match for Albus Dumbledore-

"No! She could potentially surpass even the Dark Lord himself!" His expression grew solemn, the remnants of laughter fading as he turned a serious gaze towards Tanya.

"W-what?"

"Girl, we have much to discuss!"

"Ohhh! I really can't get enough of this!" Tanya enjoyed a bar of chocolate, a peace offering from the professor to make amends for any past offense.

They sat on a bench in a sunlit park near her school. The bright, open space was a refreshing change from the gloomy place they had been earlier, and they both agreed they had seen enough darkness for one day.

"She finally resembles a child her age." With everything cleared up, it was time to discuss her future. Yet, Severus Snape found it hard to begin, being too busy trying to pick the faintest similarity this young girl may have with Lily.

"No…" He sighed.

"They have nothing in common, not the tiniest similarity in appearance… absolutely nothing at all!" And, honestly, if Lily had ever been this frightening, he wouldn't have dared to approach her in the first place.

"I will inform my findings to the ministry. You have nothing more to worry about." He also kept the strands of hair, in case proof was required.

"Is that so?! Thank you!" Her grin widened as she savored the final piece of chocolate he had given her.

"… even if I find it somewhat disconcerting that the first spell you learned was the Reductor Curse."

"I-I can do some more stuff as I told you!"

"Yes. You can create a sticky substance to entrap people and a shield which can block the legilimency spell!" This was completely unprecedented. The spell wasn't cast; it activated akin to a field barrier. Moreover, a shield charm shouldn't have been capable of blocking a spell as ethereal as Legilimency, just as they can't repel something as potent as the Unforgivable Curses.

"Wait a moment!Does this mean she is capable ofblocking the unforgivables?!"

"Is it so bad to know a little about self-defense?"

"My point is that some may see this as an inclination towards the dark arts. And being a Muggle-born doesn't exactly facilitate matters."

"Does it make a difference, being muggle-born?"

"!" He flinched hearing her ask another question Lily had.

"Actually… n-no! Of course, it doesn't make any difference!" And exactly as he had done that day, he shamelessly lied.

"W-why did I lie again?!" It was important for someone in her position to be prepared for what lay ahead. The prejudice she would encounter was merely the tip of the iceberg, for it was inevitable the Dark Lord would return.

"Then, why the hell did I lie?!" He wondered if this was from his futile attempts to find traces of Lily in her. Or perhaps, the teacher within him hesitated to scare the little girl away from the wizarding world.

"After all, it's quite rare to encounter an independent, intelligent, and witty girl at her age and older." Without a doubt, she would be the dream student for any teacher such as himself, who often had to contend with whiny, attention-seeking, and sometimes arrogant brats.

"The only shame is that it was unlikely she would go to my house."

"… professor?"

He was so absorbed in his thoughts he failed to realize she was still talking to him.

"Hmm? What did you say?"

"I asked, what sort of magic can I practice?"

"About that, you will not try any magic until you start your magical education. Understood?"

"Huh?!"

"The ministry will start monitoring you from now on. They will not overlook a second transgression and I won't be able to help you."

"H-hold on! Not a single spell?!"

"You lived seven years with no magic, you can live four more without it."

She furrowed her brow, possibly weighing a counterargument, but ultimately nodded in agreement.

"Hmpf! If I become inept for lack of practice, it'll be your fault!"

"Oh? So she can pout like a regular child?" The sight of her puffing cheeks caused him to let out a chuckle.

"Well, one more magic won't hurt." Glancing around, the professor confirmed there was no one else around.

"Want to try one last spell? While I am here, you are allowed."

"Really?! What should I do?"

Severus Snape's eyes fell on a flower bed.

"Those flowers…"

"Yes?"

"Can you use magic on them?"

"Do you want me to blow them up?"

"…" A grimace involuntarily contorted his expression.

"I am sensing troubling signs in this girl's inclination towards violence!"

"As I keep saying, magic has many uses. See this flower? Its petals didn't open, can you make it bloom?"

"… I can try."

She extended her hand, frowning in concentration. After a brief moment, the flower's petals slowly began to open.

"I did it! This is kind of easy!" Next, she caused the petals to close and then made them open again.

Severus Snape stared fascinated. This scene turned out to be strikingly reminiscent of his first encounter with Lily Evans.

"W-why am I still doing this?! Am I so desperate that I want to turn a completely different girl into a new Lily?!" He shut his eyes and shook his head, firmly acknowledging how such behavior would be a disservice to her memory.

"Ha! Did you see that, Sev-?"

"!" The professor's eyes shot open, his heart racing at the mention of his old nickname.

"W-w-what did you say?!"

Tanya glanced at him smiling, seemingly unaware of his distress.

"I said: 'Did you see that? Seven at the same time.'?" She explained, pointing to seven flower buds.

"A-ah! Of course!" Severus Snape had to inhale deeply to calm the rapid beating of his heart.

"Ugh! This is what I deserve from letting my imagination run wild!" He concluded it was wiser to leave, having already said all that needed to be said, and to avoid any additional risk of embarrassment.

"But before that,I should correct my earlier mistake."

"There is one last thing I need to tell you. I said before that there is no difference in being muggle-born…"

"Ahhhh! So tired!" Tanya collapsed onto the bed without ceremony. After a long conversation with Professor Snape, it was evening, almost night, when she returned to her room at the orphanage.

"The heck! How did it end up like this?!" She could only lament the past few days while she rolled on the mattress.

"How could I guess mages- I mean, wizards existed in this world! And that they were so organized!I admit it was strange how no spell-casters were around considering how 'easy' magic is here…"

Since arriving in this world, Tanya had been aware that magic, or something very similar, existed here.

In her former world, she learned that mana had to be channeled by someone with the aptitude, using a complex equation or formula, to create specific phenomena. Mana in its natural state was scarce, so every little bit had to be used efficiently to achieve the creation of a spell.

By comparison, in this new world, she felt that raw mana was more abundant and denser, and speculated magic would be much simpler to cast here. Despite being eager to test her theory for years, she chose to wait until her mysterious employer made contact, as she didn't know what sort of plan he had in mind. However, as her seventh anniversary came and went without any change, Tanya decided it was time to explore her options.

She sought out a secluded spot where she could conduct her experiments in privacy. There, she made a breakthrough, her explosive spell functioned without the aid of a formula rifle and was remarkably more potent. This validated her hypothesis, casting a spell was just a matter of will; formulas were unnecessary, rendering operational orbs obsolete.

Unfortunately, this was as far as her research could go for a while, as it turns out she was inadvertently breaking the law.

"Argh! Why let mehave the wand, if I can't try anything for four years?!" She gazed at the stick in her hand, which had taken some persuasion for the professor to allow her to keep.

Those were the closest replacements to Computation Jewels, although their conception was radically different. From what little she knew, a wand wasn't necessary for casting magic; its function was primarily to enhance the potency of spells.

"Shit, wish I could have relearned how to fly!" She got up from the bed, her thoughts scattered in so many directions she was compelled to speak aloud, remembering the imperturbable charm cast earlier hadn't lost its effect yet.

"I will need all tactical advantages should I have any more trouble with this 'wizarding world'." Professor Snape assured her there was no need to worry, though he also cautioned her against any new incidents. He emphasized there would be nowhere to hide, as it seemed they had developed more effective methods of mana- or rather, magic detection.

"Luckily, I tested my new mana detection skill at that exact moment, or those 'hit wizards' would have ambushed me!" She nearly panicked upon sensing seven mana signatures on the named level. Thankfully, their potential didn't match their skill; otherwise, it would have been anyone's guess what could have occurred.

"I doubt they would dissect me or something of the sort, still… some of them can read minds!" Another stroke of luck was that she rediscovered her passive shell, which had been upgraded to protect her dangerous memories as much as her body.

"What would they do if they discovered I traveled between three different worlds? That I was contacted by a powerful entity such as Being X?! I am too different even by this world's standards, it is best to not risk discovery!" Before parting ways, Professor Snape made a promise to stay in touch, sending an owl once in a while. She intended to seize the opportunity to inquire further about their laws, searching for loopholes to safeguard herself as she had done in the past.

"And maybe ask more about the… what was its name? Oh yes! The 'pure-blood supremacy' thing!" In her previous life, she was turned over to the communists; now, apparently, she must face the threat of fascism…

"Was it too much to ask to be sent to a peaceful and rational world for a change?!" She couldn't help blaming her mysterious employer. He didn't provide her with any information about the world he was sending her into.

"And let's not forget the worst part: I AM A GIRL AGAIN! With almost exactly the same small and skinny body I had before! Heck! And somehow, I ended up with the same name!"

Tanya held her head and pulled her hair, feeling the accumulated tension of the past days taking its toll. In this world, more similar to her original one than the previous, she had endured seven boring years. Then, as if to make up for the prolonged peace, she faced a week with nothing except worries.

"Hey! It's been seven years already! Where are you?" She asked no one in particular, nearly yanking her hair in desperation.

"I offer my apologies. I had been waiting for you to establish the initial contact with them." 'No one' apparently answered back.

"WAAAAH!" Tanya screamed at the sight of a black-cloaked figure, its pale face barely visible, belonging to an extremely old man.

"W-who are you?! Where did you come from?!"

"Please, there is no need to be afraid. As previously mentioned, it was imperative that you refrained from displaying feigned surprise when initiating contact with the wizards of this world."

"You are the one I talked to before my death?" Tanya was puzzled; the voice didn't match the one she had encountered previously, it was clearer and more distinct.

"Indeed- Ah, I neglected to introduce myself. Please forgive the oversight; it has been quite a while since I last engaged in conversation with a living being…" He bowed.

"My name is Ignotus Peverell. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"…" Tanya waited for him to add anything while he just stared back as if expecting recognition.

"Is that name supposed to mean anything?" At last, she asked.

"True, you are not acquainted with 'The Tale of the Three Brothers', and that professor surely didn't mention the deathly hallows." Following this reply, Peverell's expression turned pensive.

"… I knew I should have incarnated you as a Lovegood after all!"

"Lovegood? The deathly… what?" He was making her more confused with each word.

"The Deathly Hallows, the very purpose for your presence here. I require your assistance in reuniting them…" For the second occasion on that day, she found herself receiving a detailed and long explanation.

"… and you mustn't forget: use the power of the master of death only to destroy the hallows as it-" Suddenly, Peverell's form flickered, momentarily vanishing before returning with a glassy appearance.

"Huh? I didn't quite catch the last part. And I can't see you too well anymore."

"What? Curses! My- almost over!" Once more, he flickered in and out of sight.

"In any- I have one last-" Recognizing his own lack of clarity, he made a gesture with his hand, seemingly restoring stability.

"Listen closely, girl! As our time together nears its end, I must make you aware of HARRY POTTER, the future savior of this world!"

AN: Apologies for the delay; things got hectic, and tackling this chapter turned out trickier than anticipated. I'm still not satisfied with how this turned out… Dammit!

In hindsight, this chapter feels unnecessary. I could easily integrate these events through brief flashbacks in future chapters. It's crucial for me to streamline this narrative, I aim to wrap up this fanfic within the next two years at most. So, moving forward, I'll be more concise, skipping over events that parallel the original too closely.

Additionally, there'll be a hiatus after this chapter for a few months. Firstly, I want to delve deeper into both series. I plan to revisit the "Youjo Senki" anime and dive into the novels (having recently caught up on the manga). I also intend to rewatch the "Harry Potter" movies (reading the books again would be too time-consuming). Secondly, I aim to establish a more regular posting schedule. Hence, I'll only release the 'Philosopher's Stone' arc when I commence writing the 'Chamber of Secrets' arc, reducing the gap between chapters. I anticipate resuming chapter releases by early March.

What do you think about my concept of contrasting magical systems in the two worlds? I felt it necessary to provide an explanation since magic operates distinctly in each universe. I'll elaborate further on the necessity of incantations and wand movements during the first year. Oh, and any suggestions you have are more than welcome.

Tanya's spell inspired by "So I'm a Spider, So What?" serves as a subtle homage. It's another isekai series featuring Yūki Aoi as the lead character. I wanted to introduce a new spell to highlight the contrasting ease of magic between the worlds of Harry Potter and Youjo Senki.

Admittedly, I'm clueless about Hastings. I'm uncertain about the presence of orphanages, old factories, or churches there. If they don't exist, let's pretend they do. I chose Hastings because I wanted a location in England as close to Germany as possible to explain Tanya's background. However, upon reflection, there are regions further east that might have been a better fit. Perhaps Dover would've been a more suitable choice.

Here are the answers to the reviews:

To guests: Thank you, hope that you are still reading.

To Citanon: Thank you. I am really trying my best.

To Ocansino: Thank you. I looked for the story you recommended, but it's not finished, so I may return later when it's completed.

To Mark the Mark: From what I could understand, noncon means 'no consent' as in forced sex or rape right? To tell the truth, I was going to develop a situation where Tanya was raped by Lorya, but I changed my mind. I like the character too much to let her suffer something so horrible. So, nothing happened, don't worry. Still, Tanya will hold the belief that she was molested or even raped and it will take a few years for her to clear this.

To KureijiRyuu: Sorry that this story doesn't please you. But just to make this clear: Tanya will marry Harry, still she won't fall in love with him. This is not a romance story. As I developed to this point, Tanya has an agreement to find the deathly hallows and then return to her true life as the salaryman. However, as we see in the Youjo Senki series, things never go her way, not only she will lose her chance to go back, but will find herself in a marriage that she can't say 'no' for motives that I have yet to reveal.
