There is an extremely important note at the end of this. It concerns the future of this story. So please read and let me know your thoughts.
The trip back to Dragonstone was a silent journey. Cinder and Saphira stayed close throughout the trip just in case Euron's fleet showed up but alas, nothing of note happened. Thomas was thankful though, the cold air was getting warmer the further south they went. They made remarkable time returning. The weather and winds seemed to be on their side and within a month, Dragonstone rose on the horizon. Thomas stood at the hull of the ship and watched as Cinder and Saphira flew towards the island. As they made their way over three specs rose to greet them. The roars that filled the sky would have made even the bravest of men tremble in fear. Thomas however, basked in their calls. He vaguely noticed Jon Snow come to stand next to him. He paid him no mind as he watched Rhaegal, Drogon and Viserion soar over their ship, calling out to them. To him.
"They are magnificent." Jon mumbled beside him. "I'm glad the night king didn't get his hands on one of them."
Thomas nodded. "I am as well." Thomas turned towards him. "Daenerys knows we will be arriving shortly. I will make sure Daenerys helps you. The north will not fight alone." Jon Gave him a thankful smile. "Even if she decides otherwise, my horde will stand with you."
"I thank you Thomas." Jon Clapped him on the shoulder. "When I first saw you I didn't know what to think." Thomas watched him now, unsure what he was getting at. "I had heard the stories. The ones about how you burned down a city, how you helped Daenerys slaughter the masters of the slave cities. How you encouraged her to burn and destroy." Jon looked out at the island. The harbor getting closer and a head of silver hair standing there, waiting. "I'm glad you aren't like that. I'm glad to consider you my friend." Jon held out his hand. Thomas looked down at it in stunned silence. He recovered quickly and grasped his hand.
"I'm glad we met Jon." Thomas smiled. 'we had a rough start but I'm glad we met." Thomas laughed. "You know, my family is sworn to house Targaryen. My father told me they always dreamed of seeing them rise again. They dreamed I would come back with them and we could finally be a family. Never did they think I would be together with Daenerys. They never thought they would be any more than inn keepers. Even when I was traveling with Daenerys, I never thought it would be this way. A new great house, dragons, all of it. We had some tough times growing up but I wouldn't trade any of it for anything." Thomas waved his hand as they got closer and could clearly make out Daenerys, Missandei and Tyrion.
Jon waved as well, thinking on his life, the friends he made, the people he lost, and the family waiting for him up north. He thought of everything he knew and wondered what life would be like if Thomas Ward wasn't with Daenerys Targaryen. Especially after getting to know him. He realized that the stories were wrong. Thomas wasn't the driving force behind all of Daenerys's horrible deeds. But a driving force for her dream to make the world a better place.
Docking was smooth and without incident. As soon as Thomas walked onto the dock, Dany jumped into his arms, kissing him with all she had. Thomas returned her affection with equal enthusiasm. Everyone smiled and looked away uncomfortably.
"I missed you Thomas." Dany whispered against his lips. She ran her fingers through his hair and kissed him again.
Thomas held her tight against him and whispered back. "I missed you as well." They stopped kissing and simply held each other. Dany stepped back first and took him in. Her beaming smile fell upon seeing the scar running along the left side of his forehead. She reached up and ran her hand along it. Her eyes filled with tears she refused to shed while his softened. He took her hand and brought it to his lips. A tender kiss was laid upon it before he turned to everyone else.
"Lord Tyrion." Thomas addressed the Dwarf who looked upon him curiously. "Please make sure a few ships are ready to depart for kings landing tomorrow morning. We have a very important meeting to attend. Once that is done, we have something important you should all see." Thomas looked back and noticed a few unsullied unload the container which held the white.
"What happened to your head?" Dany asked before anyone could move.
"They are real Daenerys." Thomas looked her in the eye. "Everything Jon has said, is true." Thomas wrapped an arm around her and moved towards the castle. "You will see when we get to kings landing."
Dany pouted but the feeling of his arm around her calmed her enough to let it slide, for now. Walking back to the castle, Tyrion asked many questions. Most of which, were answered by Jon. When Dany heard about Thomas's dragons being there, she spoke up about how worried they had been about their disappearance.
"We were all worried they had decided to go destroy cities on the mainland and since we had no idea where they were, we wouldn't have been able to stop them." Dany clutched Thomas closer as if fearing he would disappear.
"Well luckily I had them follow us instead." Thomas smirked.
Dany hit his shoulder. "You should have told me of your plan." She gave him a glare that held little heat. "Especially after your little speech about trusting each other."
Thomas shrugged his shoulders. "I do apologize Dany, but I can say with absolute certainty now that I do in fact trust Jon Snow with my life." He gave Jon a nod, which the man politely returned. By now they had reached the war room and everyone took a seat.
Varys decided to speak up first. "Word came from the reach." Thomas looked over eagerly. He had left Lara in charge of the Horde and was eager to know what has been happening. "The common folk have brought in additional crops and their food supplies are growing. Good for us but also provides a very tempting target to our enemies." Vary looked around at the happy faces. "Dorne is mustering their army as we speak. It seems they have raised Tyene as their new princess."
Dany smiled. "Good. Then we are finally recovering from our early loses." Thomas sighed in relief. Now they could finally move along on their plans to conquer Westeros. "But first I want to know exactly what happened beyond the wall." She looked directly at Thomas, more specifically his new scar on top of his head.
"Your grace," Jon spoke up. "Like Thomas said, we found the army of the dead. We were able to capture one of them while they were out on patrol. Unfortunately, it was able to get a call out and the entire army fell upon us. I tried to send one of our party ahead, to try and get word to you but he never made it." Jon and Thomas both took a moment to remember Gendry. "We ended up getting trapped in the middle of a frozen lake on a small island."
"From there I tried to contact Saphira and Cinder but they had already buckled down for the night." Thomas interceded. "So, we bunkered down and waited. When morning came, we burned the man who died in the night and I tried again to get my girls to help us. By the time I was able to get them moving to us, Clegane, decided it would be fun to throw rocks at the army of the dead. He fucked up and ended up showing them that the ice had gotten thick enough for the entire army to cross. After that it was just a matter of holding off the entire horde until my dragons could come."
Jon jumped back in. "They came right as we were about to be over run. Were it not for him, we would all be dead." Jon motioned to Thomas and Dany grasped his hand.
"Of course, Jon did save me from being killed. That's how I got this scar." Thomas motioned to his head. "One of the fuckers bit me. I'm all for getting kinky but dead men aren't my thing." Thomas tried his hand at humor but only got a few uncomfortable chuckles and an incredulous look from Jon. "I thought that was pretty funny." Thomas grumbled earning a laugh from Dany who pulled him closer from his seat and kissed his head.
"Now is not the time love." She stated, letting him back into his seat. "So, then he got the rest of you out I presume." Jon and Thomas both nodded. "I also assume you have whatever proof you need with you?" Again, both men nodded. "Very good. We shall set sail tomorrow. Thomas come with me."
*lemon ahead*
Entering their chambers Thomas took a moment to just breath. He was home once more; he was broken from his thoughts by the sound of rustling. Turning towards the bed he saw Daenerys in all her glory. She smirked and pulled one pin. Her dress came loose and with a slight movement it fell to the floor.
Thomas would never get tired of the sight before him. Her smooth skin glinted in the candle light. Thomas took her all in from her beautiful eyes, to her full breasts. From her smooth stomach to her lovely legs.
"You are wearing far too many cloths, my love." Dany giggled a she moved closer to him. Thomas watched the sway of her hips and the jiggle of her breasts, mesmerized by her beauty. Then she was kissing him and he her. His breeches fell soon after and then his shirt joined it. Dany dragged him to the bed and threw him on it.
She beheld her lover, her greatest friend as he stared up at her. His length standing ready for her. She moved up on him, straddling his waist. She smirked as his hips bucked in need. His eyes were filled with lust as he beheld her beauty. She took her member in her hand and guided him to her core. Slowly lowering her waist, she sighed as he filled her. Thomas groaned in pleasure and she beamed. His hands gripped her waist as she continued to ride him. Moans escaped her lips as Thomas bucked his hips in time with hers.
Sitting up Thomas wrapped his arms around her as he took one of her breasts in his mouth. A gasp left her as he suckled on her. One hand held her and another grasped her full arse. "Oh Thomas." She moaned as her hands gripped his hair.
"I love you Dany." Thomas groaned out as he switched breasts.
"I love you as well!" Dany screamed out as his seed spilled inside her. A tired smile spread on her face as they held each other. "I love you more than anything. My rock, my protector, my savior. My king."
*lemon end*
Dany was much more possessive since his return. They had been at sea for a week and in another they would be at kings landing. Thomas noticed her new found possessiveness soon after they set sail. With a final goodbye to his parents, who were expecting their next child soon, they set sail and Dany kept him close. Never letting him stray too far without her and if at all possible, kept one hand on him at all times.
Thomas would be lying if he said it didn't worry him. She had always been a possessive person but never to this extent. His thoughts brought him back to a promise he made her so long ago. A promise he had no intention of fulfilling. Crushing those thoughts, he returned to the present where Dany was mounting Drogon to fly the rest of the way to King's Landing. Apparently, Tyrion thought it would be prudent for her not to arrive with them in case it was a trap. Thomas had to agree with the imp and even made mention of it to Dany who seemed so happy to see them agree on something.
When it came to the relationship between Tyrion and himself, he knew Dany had his back. He also knew that she needed the dwarf's brains. While she loved him, she also enjoyed talking with Tyrion and their personal battles against each other were hurting her. This just shoved the point home. He sighed as Drogon took flight from the ocean. It was a rather humorous experience but his thoughts on the dwarf kept him from laughing.
They were nearing King's landing when he decided to talk to him. The week at sea gave him much to think about and he finally had all his thoughts together. "Lord Tyrion!" Thomas called as he approached Tyrion on the bow of the ship. "If you don't mind, I would like to have a word."
Tyrion glanced up at him before looking towards the Iron Fleet. "Can we talk here or do you need me below deck?"
"Here will suffice."
Tyrion gave him his full attention. "What can I do for you?"
Thomas took a deep breath. "We haven't really gotten along since I came back from Old Valyria. Everyone knows this." Tyrion nodded his head. "I have come to realize that throughout our encounters I have been very, shall I say, hostile towards you and any plans you come up with." Tyrion frowned but refrained from speech. "I would like to apologize. We both want to see our queen on the throne and we are both doing what we think is right by her. But if we are constantly at odds with one another then Daenerys will never reach her true potential." Thomas took another deep breath and held out his hand. "I would like to start over and begin anew. As allies, true allies and help our queen conquer Westeros."
Tyrion stood there silent. In truth he had been thinking the similar things as well. There constant fighting wasn't helping Daenerys at all and the constant need to metaphorically shit on each other were only harming Dany's plan. Looking at the hand Tyrion gave him a strained smile.
"You know, I was worried you would be some power-hungry shit when you came back wit two dragons." Tyrion took his hand. "I'm glad I was wrong. You are definitely rough around the edges but your heart is in the right place." Both men smiled at the other. "So, from here on out, let us plan to put our queen on the throne together. Agreed?"
Thomas smiled; a small weight lifted form his shoulders. "Agreed."
Tyrion chuckled. "Good because we are about to walk into the Lion's den and having you at my back will make me feel far better." Both men turned outward and waited as the approached the docks.
King's Landing, in Thomas's opinion, was a shit hole. An overcrowded, smelly shithole. It didn't help that they were surrounded by Lannister soldiers or that people would throw food and other things at them as they passed by. Missandei seemed the most bothered though and Thomas quickly took her hand in support. She sent him a grateful smile and they were on their way.
Coming on a crossroad they saw a captain leading two people. One was a giant lady with short blonde hair and the other was a shorter man with a simple face. Tyrion seemed to perk up upon seeing he man and quickly moved toward him. Thomas later learned they were representatives from the north, Lady Breanne of Tarth and Podrick, and old squire for Tyrion.
Walking into the Dragon pit Thomas was surprised by how small it was. "You said this held Balearian the black." Tyrion gave him a curious look. "It's a little small don't you think?"
"Well every dragon after the dread got progressively smaller. I'm sure by the end it wasn't really an issue." Tyrion replied looking around the pit, seeing Lannister soldiers all around them. Thomas noticed this to ad shifted uncomfortably.
"Gods, I hope this isn't a trap." He mumbled. Missandei gripped his hand tighter trying to reassure him.
Tyrion nodded as well. "I hope so too. I also hope that whatever you brought will be enough to convince my sister."
Thomas scoffed. "If that doesn't convince your sister, nothing will." Thomas then motioned for two Dothraki to go retrieve the trunk back at the mule. As they were leaving, everyone saw Cersei and her guard round the bend into the pit. Thomas would be the first to admit their armor was intimidating. When his eyes locked with Jaimie Lannister, he smirked.
The Lions soon took their seats and everyone followed suit. The north on one side, the Targaryen's on the other with the Lannister's in the center. Cersei looked around with contempt. Her eyes screamed anger at everyone and total disgust at Tyrion.
"Where is this dragon queen? Did she not travel with you?" She sneered.
Tyrion shook his head. "She did not travel with us but I can assure you, she will be here."
As if called upon, three dragons let out a roar that shook the sky. Thomas smiled as he saw Viserion and Rhaegal soar over the city. He looked around and noticed almost everyone was out of their seats gaping up at them. True shock covered their features when Drogon flew over the pit. Being the biggest, he was an intimidating sight. Drogon landed upon the edge of the pit and made his way to the ground floor. Growling ad hissing along the way. Dany, who sat on his back looked every inch the dragon conqueror and Thomas once again knew, he could love no other.
Making her way to her seat, Dany took her time. She basked in everyone's awe and fear of her and her dragons. She was only slightly disappointed that Thomas had insisted his two dragons stay behind to rest after their journey North. Taking her seat, she looked smugly at Cersei.
"We have been here for some time." The Lannister snarled.
"My apologies." Dany rolls her eyes.
Everyone was silent after that, wondering how to begin. All the soldiers were sizing everyone up and the rulers were wondering if they could kill their enemies here and now. Eventually Tyrion worked up the courage to speak.
"We are all facing a unique." He was interrupted before he could truly begin by Euron.
"Theon!" The man called. "I have your sister. Submit to me now or I will kill her."
Theon, looked to Tyrion, choosing to ignore his mad uncle and Tyrion looked around baffled that Euron even opened his mouth.
"I think we ought to begin with larger concerns." Tyrion stated.
Euron laughed and stood up. Slowly walking towards Tyrion, the man smirked. Thomas stood as well and moved to stand beside Tyrion, his hand grasping Blackfyre. "Then why are you talking little dwarf? You're the smallest concern here." Euron sized up Thomas. "What are you doing? Protecting your little pet, ha?" Thomas glared at him.
"Protecting a friend Pirate. Something you know nothing about." Euron laughed at Thomas and started circling them.
"You have balls." Euron sent a smirk Theon's way. "More than any can say about my nephew."
"Perhaps you ought to sit down!" Jaimie snapped. Euron turned back to Jaimie in surprise. He looked like he was about to ignore it when Cersei added her two coppers. "Sit down or leave." Gregor Clegane stepped forward then. Ready to remove Euron on the Queens demand. The man glanced at the giant and with one last scathing look at Tyrion, went back to his seat. Thomas Patted Tyrion on the shoulder and took his seat as well. He noticed Dany's pleased expression and patted her leg.
Tyrion took a moment for everyone to calm down again before starting. "We are a group of people who do not like one another." He stepped in front of Cersei and Jaimie, giving them his full attention. "As this recent demonstration has shown, we have suffered at each other's hands. We have lost people we love, if all we wanted was more of the same then we would not be here. We are all perfectly capable of waging war with each other without meeting face to face."
Cersei scoffed. "So instead we should settle our differences and live together in harmony for the rest of our days?"
Tyrion shook his head. "We all know that will never happen."
"Then why are we here?"
Jon stood up at this point and moved to stand next to Tyrion. Thomas glanced to the side a noticed the two Dothraki bringing the chest up the steps. He moved to go assist them and missed whatever Jon was saying. He did catch the end of it though when they put the chest down and the Dothraki joined Dany's side.
Thomas waited for Jon to signal him to open the chest. Jon told Cersei they brought proof and turned to Thomas who started undoing all the bolts keeping the lid on. Everyone was quiet as he worked and when the last bolt was loose, he ripped the lid off and quickly took a few steps back. He was surprised when the thing didn't lunge out at him. He cautiously walked towards the chest and with a final gulp, pushed it over with his foot.
Dany watched as the thing that spilled out of the chest screeched and ran towards Cersei Lannister. She froze as the sight of a walking corpse froze her to her core. The knowledge that Thomas had faced the entire army brought with it a new sense of fear. Fear for her love and the life they had built together. Up until now she had some doubts about Jon Snow's stories. To her shame even when Thomas confirmed them, she held a sliver of doubt. Seeing this monster now, put all those doubts to rest.
Thomas yanked on a chain holding the beast before it could reach anybody. The creature turned around and charged him. Thomas drew Blackfyre and with a swing, cut the beast in half. It started crawling towards him and reached out a bony, decaying hand that Thomas cut off and flung towards Jon.
Jon moved to the hand while Davos picked up a torch and some flint and steel. Lighting the torch, he handed it to Jon who picked up the still moving hand. Qyburn, Cersei's hand moved to inspect the hand. Once he realized that it was no trick, he nodded to Cersei and moved back to his seat.
"We can destroy them by burning them." Jon set the hand on fire. Then he pulled out a dragon glass dagger and moved back to the flailing body. "And we can destroy them with dragon glass. If we don't win this fight." He pointed down at the White. "That is the fate of everyone in the world." Jon picked up the White and plunged the dagger in its chest, killing it.
Thomas moved next to Jon. "I didn't believe him until I saw them. I saw the entire army. If we don't stop it, nothing will."
Jaimie looked from the corpse to the two men before him. "How many are there?"
Jon and Thomas exchanged a look before Thomas spoke up. "Well over a hundred thousand, at least."
Everyone stared at the corpse. All of them frightened about what it meant. Euron got up and examined the thing. "Can they swim?"
"No." Jon shook his head.
"Good." Euron nodded. "I'm taking the Iron fleet back to Iron Islands."
Cersei tapped her fingers nervously. "What are you talking about?"
"I've been around the world, seen everything but that is the only thing that has ever terrified me." Euron shook his head. Moving Towards Daenerys, the Dothraki leveled their spears while Thomas raised Blackfyre. "I'm going back to my island. I recommend you do the same. By winters end, we will be the only ones left alive." Euron then took his leave, everyone watching him go.
Cersei bristled as she watched him walk away from her. "He's right to be afraid and a coward to run. If those things come for us, there will be no kingdoms to rule. Everything we have suffered would have been for nothing." Thomas was watching her closely and noticed her hand on her stomach. It was rubbing small circles over it. If he was younger his eyes would have widened considerably at the implication. Especially since his mother had been doing the same thing with her belly before they left. "Everything we lost would have been for nothing." Cersei turned her attention to Dany. The crown will accept your truce. Until the dead are defeated, they are the true enemy." The Northerners all released a collective sigh and even Thomas relaxed slightly. This was certainly going better than any of them had originally thought.
Of course, Cersei wasn't done talking. "In return, the King in the North will extend this truce. He will remain in the North after the dead are defeated. He will not raise up arms against the Lannister's he will not choose sides."
"Just the North?" Dany questioned. "Not me?"
"humph, I would never ask it of you. You and your wild savage pet would never agree to it." Cersei sent a glare at Thomas. "Even if you did, I would trust you even less than I do now. I ask it only of the son of Ned Stark. I know Ned Stark's son will honor his word." Cersei stared Jon in the eye.
Thomas let out a sigh in relief, now extremely glad Jon hadn't pledged himself to their cause. Of course, Jon's continued silence started to trouble him. Why wouldn't he just agree? It's not as if they needed the Northern forces and even if they did, they could always break the agreement.
"Aye." Jon nodded. "You have my word that the North will not choose between either of you. We will stay in the north as an Independent kingdom, separate from all the others." Cersei gave him a dry smile.
"Then we have an agreement." Cersei turned back to Daenerys. "I shall have my armies March north to provide assistance as soon as possible." With that said, she stood up and left. Her entire retinue following after her.
Everyone else soon packed up as well and headed to their ships. Dany had Drogon land nearby and told everyone she would meet them at Dragonstone.
Tyrion was walking beside Thomas on their way to the ships when he patted his arm. "Thank you for standing with me against Euron. I appreciate it." Thomas smiled down at the dwarf.
'Wouldn't be a good friend if I let you face danger alone." Thomas laughed. "Let him run away, the coward. Everyone knows you cannot outrun death."
"It sounds like you are looking forward to facing the dead again." Tyrion pointed out.
Thomas shook his head. "Oh gods no. I'm terrified. My father told me something before we left for the battle of the burning plains. Do you want to know what it was?" Tyrion nodded. "When you fight, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Do not go gentle into that good night."
"Wise words." Tyrion mused. "Fitting at this day and age."
"Aye, but we must never forget, in the end death claims us all." Thomas mood turned somber. "My mother said that immediately after my father left. While we can fight as hard as possible, no matter what we do, eventually we will die. Thinking about it helps bring me a strange peace."
"Those were very conflicting statements." Tyrion looked baffled. "How could those bring you any peace?"
"I don't know. All I know is that it does." Thomas clapped Tyrion on the shoulder. "Just remember to always fight for your life so that when you do finally die, you will know you tried your hardest to live."
They fell into a comfortable silence after that Thomas thinking on that song Daenerys asked him to write so long ago while Tyrion contemplated the wisdom of Thomas' parents.
*Dragonstone 2 weeks later*
Everyone was gathered in the war room going over plans to move troops up north. The majority of Dany's army would sail to white harbor with them. Thomas's Horde would have to take the kings road. Due to the distance they would be traveling, they would have to push hard to reach the North by the time they landed in White Harbor.
"I have sent Cinder to high Garden with my orders. She likes Lara enough to let her untie the message from her leg. She should be opening it shortly. I expect we will meet them near castle Cerwyn." Thomas moved some pieces on the map. "They will be exhausted but we will have the full 100,000 Dothraki on our side. Don't worry about food either, they shall bring plenty with them."
"What of Tyene? Can we count on their support?" Dany asked Varys.
The eunuch shrugged. "Without a fleet to ferry them, if would take close to a year for their entire army to reach Winterfell. I wouldn't count on their support." All gave sad nods.
"Khaleesi, maybe you should fly there. I worry Euron will try something against you while we are at sea." Jorah spoke up.
"I disagree." Jon Snow stated. "We are allies, it would be best for the North to see us as Allies. We should ride together from White Harbor. Like Thomas said, we should be able to meet up with the Unsullied and his Dothraki at castle Cerwyn before making out final push to Winterfell."
Dany looked around the table and so no objection from any except Jorah. "Then that is what we will do. If there is nothing else my lords, I would like to speak with Thomas alone." Everyone nodded and left leaving the two lovers alone.
"What did you want to discuss?" Thomas looked at the suddenly nervous Daenerys with a bit of worry.
Dany fiddled with her hands as a smile graced her lips. "Thomas, the most wonderful thing has happened." She choked out a sob as tears fell from her face. Thomas rushed to her and held her in a tender embrace.
"What? What is it?" His worry skyrocketed at the sight of her tears.
"Thomas, I'm pregnant."
My first lemon so please go easy on its critique.
That will be all for season 7. I have just finished watching season 8 the day this is posted and I have to say, other than it being a little rushed, its exactly what I thought it would be. The show was never going to have a happy end and while I am upset about certain things, I still enjoyed it immensely. That being said much of it will have to change simply because certain characters are dead and Dany has someone other than Jorah and Missandei that she trusts completely. Now I will admit when I first started this story, I intended for Dany to die in childbirth. With all the hate thrown at the show over her death I don't intend to follow through on it. I might still kill her off but I think I will leave that up to you, my lovely readers. All I warn is that it will not be sunshine and rainbows in this last season. The saying goes, it's always darkest before the dawn. The only death that is up in the air right now is Daenerys. What do you all think? Write a review or send me a message I do try and get back to those as quickly as possible. Also, what are your thoughts on the interaction between Tyrion and Thomas in this chapter. I am on the fence about it but I think it fits with the characters I have built. Of course, now is the time if you think I truly broke the character development I already have setup. Please let me know. Stay safe and thanks for reading.
