Torches lit the ramparts of King's Landing. Thomas stood before his Army as they fanned out before the wretched city. The golden company stood before them, the first obstacle in their way. Thomas snarled at them as they rushed about. In the back of his mind, he felt his dragon's eagerness for blood.
He was only too happy to oblige them.
Turning to his army he drew his sword and raised it in the air.
"Tonight, this war ends!"
Cheers and roars responded.
"Tonight, that Lion whore will be paraded through the streets to be used at your pleasure!"
More cheers rung out at the prospect.
"Tonight, we will crush this wretched place and pillage it for all it is worth!"
The Dothraki cheered the loudest once Lara translated for him.
"Let no joyful voice be heard!"
Cinder was in position over the city.
"Let no one look into the sky with hope!"
Saphira was above the Greyjoy's fleet.
"And let this day be cursed, by we who ready to unleash THE DRAGONS!" Thomas roared as he swept his sword towards the city starting the attack.
Catapults fired, as the men and Dothraki rushed forward. Cinder dove towards the walls and unleashed a torrent of flames, melting stone and men, destroying enough of it to leave an opening. At sea, Saphira picked the largest cluster of ships and unleashed her own torrent of flames. Catapults were launched with flaming boulders into the city, setting it ablaze along with dragon fire. Soon enough the cries of its citizens filled the air.
The two armies clashed in an epic display of violence. Screams of pain and terror filled the air as death rained from above. With the wall in front of their army dealt with, Cinder turned her attention to the city proper. With all the noise being made, the peasants were awaking and lighting candles to find out what was happening. Some were already rushing to the red keep.
Cinder growled as she noticed rooftops with the dreaded scorpions shed their cloth covers. Rushing down she sent a torrent of flames into the tired and frightened soldiers, turning them to ash and setting the surrounding area alight in flame.
Out at sea Saphira was forced to retreat as bolts started being shot at random into the night. keeping the moon far away from her back, she only went in when the majority of the ships had already fired. Keeping close to the sea, Euron's ships couldn't shoot her without the risk of hitting their own ships. Such was how close she would get to the ships. Suddenly a loud horn blew across the water.
Saphira screeched at the intrusive noise and broke off from the fleet. Looking down she noticed a man standing on one of the few remaining ships, in his hands a black horn. The man blew into it once more and Saphira flew to the ship.
Coming to a hover above the ship she gazed down upon the man. The horn was calling to her. Tickling her mind with promises. Promises she knew to be false. Her connection to her rider and hatcher was far stronger than this false abomination. The man was laughing hysterically and the men around him cheering.
Saphira opened her maw and relished in the shocked looks the men had before burning them all to ash. Gaining altitude once more she looked upon the smoking wreckage below her before deciding to turn her attentions to the city. She could see her sister strafing randomly and roaring in triumph.
Cinder relished in the screams below her. Relished in the heat of her flames as they spread, consuming all in their path. Her mind turned to the sea as she heard some horn sound in that direction. A tickling sensation in the back of her mind before it was snuffed out by her sister. Suddenly a shock wave rocked her in the sky as green clouds sprung up behind her. Looking back as noticed streets near where she unleashed her flame exploded in green fire. Snarling at the unnatural smell she chose to ignore it for now.
A roar turned her attention to her sister who started torching the other side of the city. Together the sisters started burning streets and building indiscriminately. Sometimes green flames would erupt around them but they ignored it in favor of moving towards the large keep.
Thomas watched in quiet contempt as he saw the once feared Golden company crumble before the might of his army. Their elephants were panicking with all the chaos happening in the city behind them. Throwing their riders and passengers off before stampeding away. The Dothraki made quick work of the ground troops who faltered once Cinder torched the wall behind them. The Westerosi with them, mopping up behind them as the Dothraki stormed into the city first.
Tyene nudged his shoulder as she beheld the carnage before them. Their respective guards standing a few feet behind them. "They really are terrifying to behold." She muttered, watching Cinder and Saphira torch the once glorious city.
"This was what Aegon the conqueror must have felt once he unleashed his dragons." Thomas smirked, seeing another wildfire explosion. 'That dumb bitch kept wildfire caches below her city.' He snorted in morbid amusement.
"It is beautiful though." Tyene mumbled. "In a morbid sort of way."
Thomas chuckled. His mind taking a break from planning the future as he beheld the present. Taking in the heat of the burning city brought him some measure of peace. Knowing that he was punishing them for killing his father. A man he barely knew. Barely had any time to get to know.
Cersei would pay for everything she had done. For everything house Lannister had done. She would be a message to everyone who thought to rise against house Targaryen.
Shaking his head, he brought himself back to the present and noticed that the golden company had fallen. Either burnt or cut down, they were done for. Taking a deep breath, he started forward. Tyene and his guards quickly following him.
Entering the city brought the stench of ash and death to the forefront of his senses. Corpses littered the streets around them and buildings burned. Women and children cried out as his army sacked the city. Idly he wondered if this was similar to what the Lannister's did at the end of the rebellion.
In the distance he saw his daughters terrorizing the red keep. Thankfully they didn't destroy the actual keep itself, just the walls surrounding it and the yard inside.
The walk to the red keep took longer than Thomas expected. Of course, the leisurely stroll he walked may have played a large part of that. By the time he walked through the melted gate into the courtyard of the red keep, his Dothraki were trying to breech the castles heavy doors.
Thomas stood before the door's leading into the castle. Looking upon the door he realized that the sun had started to rise. Through the billowing smoke, rays of sunlight tried to reach the once glorious keep. His daughters' roars filled the sky and Thomas called for one of them to come help.
Cinder answered his call, landing in the courtyard behind him. Crushing a few Dothraki who were too slow to move out of her way. Thomas moved to her great maw and scratched her neck. Purring in pleasure Cinder basked in his attention before refocusing on the door before them.
Rearing back, Thomas saw her throat glow orange before she thrust her head forward, unleashing a torrent of flame. The door exploded inward and screams briefly filtered out before their sources presumedly turned to ash.
Thomas drew blackfire and marched inside along with his soldiers. Cinder once more took to the skies and joined her sister in raining fire once more.
Resistance within the red keep was little. He slew only a handful of guards but the majority of people they came across were servants. The Dothraki showed no mercy to the women who they greedily started raping. Thomas stopped many of them but knew that in corridors he wasn't, more of the same was happening. Not even mentioning how the city itself was fairing.
Eventually they came upon the throne room. Thomas stood next to Tyene as their men opened the large doors. On the other side of the room, upon the Iron throne, sat Cersei Lannister. Before her, the queens guard drew their swords.
"Now it ends." The Lannister bitch drawled as she glared at them.
"No, now it begins." Thomas glared back before charging forward.
To say the following fight was legendary would be a lie. Many of the queen's guard fell due to the sheer numbers Thomas and Tyene brought with them. The only member to put up any real fight was the mountain himself. The monster took scores of men before Tyene was able to jump on his back and plunge her two daggers into his neck, before twisting them in a way to sever his head. Thomas turned back to Cersei ready to gloat but scowled when he noticed her slumped in the iron throne. An empty bottle clutched in her hand.
His blood riders dragged her corpse off the throne before forming up in front of it, clearly indicating for him to sit. Thomas walked up the steps to the massive chair. the blades brushing against his pants and arms. Finally reaching the seat itself, he ran his hands over the arm rests before turning around. Looking upon the hall that was slowly filling with his men, he smiled.
"The Lannister Queen is dead!" Cheers roared back. "Cut off her head and mount it for all to see, this battle is over and soon a new queen shall sit this throne. One far more worthy than this bitch." Roars of approval met his proclamation as men rushed to Cersei's body.
The next few days passed in a blur of smoke and ash. The city had settled on an unnatural silence following the battle. Most of the city couldn't even be considered a city anymore. Now most of it was ash and rubble. Most of its residents butchered and burned. For once, in a very long time, piss and shit did not permeate the air with its stench. Instead, ash and death filled the air.
While the few remaining citizens tried to clean up the ruins and get their city back in working order, the ones in the red keep celebrated. For a rider had made it to them three days after the battle. Thomas cried when he read about his twins being born. Thomas sent the rider back with a message stating the city was taken and the war was basically over.
Already word had spread of the burning of kings landing. The day fire rained down upon men. Thomas had called all the remaining high lords to the red keep to swear to Daenerys and all had answered their acceptance of the new queen. None were willing to stand against House Targaryen now that they were willing to unleash their dragons once more.
As Thomas looked over the smoking ruin that was kings landing, he couldn't help but think the future was finally looking up.
Alright folks, one more chapter. One more before the story is done. I know I could probably go on for a bit what with the whole Northern fiasco but I think we are all just tired of theses slow updates and I'm not as enthused with continuing with it anymore as with the dragons, any real conflict is null. Except poison but I refuse to kill any more dragons or wolves. Hopefully the final chapter will be out soon. As I don't think it will be anywhere near as long as some of my other chapters. It will be more of an epilogue than an actual chapter. Anyway, let me know what you think I could have done better or what you enjoyed. My next big Project will be a story About the Mandalorian. More info on that in the epilogue. But I already have 4 chapters written and a fifth almost done. Also, a couple other projects in the works too.
