Ch 8 The Walrus's Blunder
Harry was baffled by everything, what Moriarty had told him was confusing.
He had read many books about the people in the ancient past but to learn that the Gods were real at one point was something to him. He sighs, not sure how to take everything.
As soon as his lesson was over, Harry decided to stay a bit longer to see if what he learned was true. It's not like he doubts his tutor, but he wants to know if what he learned was true.
Harry stuck around the Outpost's Library, though large; he figured the best way is to look for someone to help him.
"I thought I saw people here before," Harry searched around the large collection of books. "Where are they?" He asked before heading to the center of the room.
The young Wizard was about to call it quits until he saw a woman with long dark brown hair tied in two buns on her head and dark pink eyes. She wore a unique black Victorian dress and a small pocketbook on her side.
She was carrying books to the reception desk, making Harry believe she was the Librarian.
The woman placed down the stack of books on her desk before dusting off her dress. "Okay, now that the books from the Clock Tower have arrived, it's time to catalogue-Gah!" She turns around, startled by the sudden appearance of a young Boy.
"Oh my, my, my. I didn't realize there was a Child here." Fujiwara-no-Kaoruko or Murasaki Shikibu gasps, not great at dealing with Children. However, that doesn't mean she won't fulfill her duty as Chaldea's head Librarian. "Is there something you need, young man?" She asked politely
Harry blinks at the woman, building up the courage to speak. "A-Are you a Librarian?" He asked the Servant.
Murasaki nodded, "In-Indeed I am," She answered the young Boy before her. "I am known as Caster; I serve as Chaldea's Head Librarian both Chaldea and the many Outposts." She introduced herself,
"I-I'm Harry, Ms. Caster." Harry still found it strange that everyone who's a Servant has almost the same title.
"How may I help you, Harry." After hearing his name, Murasaki knew that this Boy was the Child her master and Mashu adopted.
Harry held his hand behind him, shyly looking at the Author. "Um, Ms. Caster, I was learning with Professor M a bit ago and I wanted to know more about the lesson." He asked, unsure if he made any sense to her.
The Librarian tilts her head, not getting what he means fully. "I'm sorry, but can you rephrase your question? I'm not sure what you mean." Murasaki replied.
"D-Do you have any books about the Age of Gods?" Harry asked bluntly, "Professor M just taught me that and…I'm a bit confused."
Now Murasaki understands what the Boy meant. "Oh, of course. I know which book Professor M used to tutor you." She quickly walks towards the Babylonia section, taking a copy of Babylonia's Mythology.
"This might help with your studies, young master." The Author handed the book over to the Child.
Harry took the book, shyly smiling at the Librarian. "T-Thank you," He turns around and headed back to the table he was just at.
Murasaki turns around after tending to the Child of her master. "Now, how should I sort you all?" She asked herself to the books.
London, The Mage's Association, the Clock Tower
"I really despise you sometimes." A brunette woman with her hair tied in a rat-tail wearing a white trench coat stood at the window overlooking London.
"Why's that, director Barthomeloi?" Ritsuka crossed his legs, smirking at the vice-director of the Clocktower.
Lorelei Barthomeloi, current head of the Barthomeloi Family, acting Lord of Policies, and (though hate to admit it) a supporter of the Chaldeans.
The Magus took her seat, now staring at both Goldolf Musik and Ritsuka Fujimaru.
Goldolf cleared his throat, usually playing as the mediator between the two during his visits. "W-What Lord Fujimaru meant to say is that, why do you despise him, Lady Barthomeloi." The blonde plump man glares at the one who restored Proper Human History.
Ritsuka just smiled at the former director of Chaldea and then faced Lorelei again. She gave a deep sigh before answering the master of Chaldea. "Lord Animusphere has informed me that you have adopted a Son." The brunette stated.
"Normally, we would ignore that. But you have the gall of adopting a Key figure in the Wizarding Community's society." Lorelei rubs her temples at the situation this man has created.
"I am curious, I'm aware that you have certain Mage Families integrated into their Society to keep an eye on them." The young Magus asked, knowing little about Chaldea's own Mages. "But why? I feel like this has to do with my Son, Lorelei."
Lorelei looks at Goldolf, knowing he would make things simpler for the Champion of Humanity.
Goldolf cleared his throat, "Lord Fujimaru, that Boy in Wizard standards is viewed as a God. A Savior second to Jesus in their view." The Head of the Musik Family explains the importance of Ritsuka's Son.
"T-That-"
"Is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard!" Koyanskaya spoke out, feeling like she could disappear right there and now. "I mean really, you expect a Child with social anxiety, no social life or knowledge of this Community of degraded Mages to be second to Christ? HA!"
Ritsuka just gave a blank stare at his Secretary before looking back at Lorelei. "Both me and Mashu are prepared for the repercussions of raising Harry as our Son." He stated, not wanting to give him up."I already told Lucius before and I'll say it again. We have decided to not let him get involved with the politics of Wizards."
"And are you aware that those people have a method of tracking down students for their Education System?" Lorelei asked, "They might as well kidnap him if they don't get their way." She explained the possibility of a kidnapping.
"If those Wizards dare to take my Son," Ritsuka gave a chilling aura around the room. "They have to answer to me and my Servants."
Goldolf chuckled slightly, 'After all these years, he's stubborn as an old goat.' He sweats, seeing he reveals his dark side once more. "Director, what Fujimaru means to say is that, if the Wizards so happen to enter Chaldea grounds to get Mr. Pot-er Fujimaru, they have the right to retaliate due to the fact they crossed a restricted area." He said, making up for Ritsuka's bluntness.
Lorelei sighs, "Very well, you know the risk but I'll be honest here." The brunette looks at both men and Servant. "After hearing that, it almost makes me feel bad for those idiots."
The Head of the Barthomeloi Family folded her hands, getting serious about Ritsuka's resolve. "If you still intend to raise Harry James Potter as your own flesh and blood and not get him involved, then I suggest you as the director of Chaldea join the Holy Church and Mage's Association's joint task force."
"Why? Isn't it a fact that both the Church and the Clocktower are in a cold relationship?" Ritsuka asked the Vice-director.
Goldolf clears his throat, "Yes, you are right on that. However, you are aware of the many…unexplained situations in Great Britain recently?" The former director asked.
Koyanskaya answered the question, knowing what the plump man means. "You mean the gas explosion where there are no gas lines in sight, and the time where there's a huge crater in the center of London a few years back where they said a pipe broke which is impossible since that street is still under construction to even have pipes." The Fox said, seeing the connection well.
"Yes, we the Association and the Church are the ones cleaning up the mess that those idiots who have done a poor job," Lorelei explains, remembering that incident very well. "Especially when it came to the Sirius Black incident."
Ritsuka frowned and his eyebrow twitched when he heard that name, "Fujimaru, are you all right?" Goldolf picked up the sudden change in atmosphere.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Ritsuka growls, "So what is it you want me to do if I join the task force, Lorelei?" He asked, now in an annoyed tone.
Lorelei caught wind of his sudden change in demeanor. "You'll be at the forefront, your Outpost is at the edge of the Forest that surrounds that school." She stated.
"As such, when the Wizards make their move on your Son. Be sure to play them as a fiddle." Lorelei explains, knowing his Servants work outside the regular means. "The Wizarding Community has gone too far with their arrogant approach in hiding Mysteries from the people. Both the Church and the Association decided to remove the tumor before it spreads."
Ritsuka placed his hand on his chin, as he wants to not be involved with Association politics unless it involves Humanity. Especially when it comes to his new Family,
"Let me first check on my sources before I answer." Ritsuka stood up from the chair as Goldolf does the same. "You're aware of the conditions I need to follow,"
"I'm aware, yes." Lorelei stated, "If you're not joining the task force, then that's that. I'm just giving you a warning on what to expect with these Wizards." The Vice-director of the Mages Association said.
Ritsuka smiled and waved back at Lorelei before leaving the office.
Just as both Ritsuka and Koyanskaya were about to leave the Clocktower, Goldolf ran after him. "F-Fujimaru!"
The Magus turned around, seeing his former Boss approach him. "Goldolf, is there something else?" Ritsuka asked.
The blonde man huffs, catching his breath, "F-Fujimaru, r-regarding on the Wizards,"
"Yes?"
"T-This is coming from a-as a-a person who k-knows you and w-worries about you," Goldolf said, standing straight and catching his breath. "Fujimaru, if the time comes when those idiots show up. Any hostilities on Chaldea must not be taken lightly,"
"Though our Mage/Wizard network, Voldemort is still alive."
Ritsuka almost let out a chuckle, hearing the ridiculous name. "Voldemort, I think I heard that name from Lucy…"
Goldolf remains steadfast, knowing how little of a threat the Dark Lord is. However that doesn't mean he's predictable, "Voldemort is considered the darkest Wizard in the Wizarding Community. Though not a threat to us Mages and the Church, he still poses a danger to your adoptive Son."
The Magus frowns, hearing there was a man after his Son. "All right, I'm listening."
"Fujimaru, though this doesn't concern you but do be careful," Goldolf said, warning him. "That man is the reason why Harry Potter is famous."
"I see, then I'll make sure his protection is of utmost importance," Ritsuka said, not taking any chances with a man threatening the life of his Child.
Koyanskaya cleared her throat, seeing an opportunity to really cause havoc on the backward Community. "Fujimaru, if I may suggest something…I have two in mind that would be ideal for the young Brat's protection."
Goldolf looks at the Fox, curious about what she has in mind. "W-What do you suggest, Koyanskaya?"
"Based on the data of the Wizards, they really don't like Dark Magic and are very devoted to Merlin. But that bastard aside," The Alter Ego stated, reading the data on her tablet. "Why not use that fear to our advantage."
"Ah I see, you want to use-"
"The natural enemies of Wizards," Ritsuka said, knowing the most notable villainous figures in British History. "I'll talk to them,"
British Outpost
A few days passed and Harry lay in his bed, closing the book that Murasaki gave him. He may get a better grip on the topic, and it's helpful to understand the lessons he learned from Professor M.
However, the fact still remains. The Mythology from every part of the World was real at some point in the ancient past once he got the gist of what the Ruler was saying.
A knock on his door interrupts his train of thought, prompting him to approach the door.
Harry opened the door, revealing his adoptive Father in a tux and a blue tie. "Harry, were you studying on your own?" Ritsuka asked his Son.
"Um…yes, Ritsuka." Harry looks behind him, seeing the same man with a long trench coat and slick back hair from their visit to the Orphanage.
Next to him was a blonde man with red eyes, he wore a simple collared open blue polo shirt and white dress pants, and dark brown dress shoes.
The young Boy looks up at his Father, curious about where they're going. "W-Where are we going?" Harry asked.
"Harry, don't you remember? We're going to a Company Party at Grunnings Drills today." The Magus said, reminding him what today was.
Harry frowns, hearing the name. "O-Oh," The young Boy looks down at the floor,
Ritsuka reached out, petting his Son's head. "Don't worry Harry, you don't want to go and I understand." He said gently, "I heard you when we talked a few days back."
"Oi, mongrel it's time to leave," Gilgamesh informed his master of the time. Tapping his finger on his arm.
"Yes, I have to agree with Caster. Mr. Fujimaru, Mrs. Fujimaru is waiting down in the lobby with Ms. Koyanskaya. " Holmes stated,
"Hai, hai," Ritsuka sighed, waving his arms at the King of Uruk and the Detective. He turns his attention back to Harry and smiled. "Harry, we'll be gone for a little while. Probably around midnight or so."
Harry nodded, listening to his Father. "Lucius and his Family are here, and if they're not available then you can always ask the Servants roaming around." Ritsuka continued.
"Okay,"
"Good night, Harry," Ritsuka said, trusting Harry to be good. "See you when we get back."
Harry watches as his Father heads to the stairwell, he saw Gilgamesh follow him while Holmes smirks at him.
Holmes approached the boy, kneeling to his eye level. "(Young master, I'm aware you're struggling to understand your lessons.)" Harry just looks at the World's Greatest Detective, surprised that he knows of his predicament.
The young boy nodded, curious how he knew. "H-How do you know?"
"Well, based on the book on your bed you've been reading about the Age of Gods. Yet you still lack the understanding." The Ruler explains before getting to the point. "If you need further assistance, then I suggest you ask someone who knows about that subject."
"L-Like who?" Harry asked, not knowing a lot of people in the Mansion.
Holmes saw a certain blonde Goddess with a dress crown exiting one of the rooms before heading down the stairs. "Like Rider over there, I believe she's willing to help you considering your master's Son." The Detective pointed in the direction of where to start.
Harry smiled, appreciating the Advisor to his Father's assistance, "Okay, thank you…um…"
"Hmm, now what should you call me...you know, just call me Holmes," Holmes said, knowing there are a few people with the last name Holmes out there. A common name in the modern era to go by half of his True Name.
"Okay, Mr. Holmes." Harry smiles and then ponders the name. "Mr. Holmes….did you choose that name because you like the Sherlock Holmes Books?" He asked curiously.
Holmes blinks, a bit taken aback by the fact this young Child knows of the books Sir Doyle wrote about. 'He's observant, even comparing my name to the books written about me… interesting.'
The Ruler chuckles, "You can say that," Holmes commented before hearing a certain King calling him.
"What are you doing, Ruler? We're going to leave without you if you don't come and hurry up Mongrel." Caster Gilgamesh shouted from the bottom of the stairs.
Holmes chuckles, standing from the floor. "Well, I guess that's my cue. Good luck, Mr. Fujimaru with your studies, and a good night to you." The Detective inclined his head to the young Wizard Boy before taking his leave.
Harry watches as the Ruler Servant left before looking for the blonde woman who just passed by him and Mr. Holmes.
Great Britain, Grunnings Drill Company
The Party was going smoothly, to say the least, everyone was enjoying themselves and nervous. In one instance, the Shareholder has already arrived, and in the other, director Dursley hasn't arrived yet.
"(W-Where is Mr. Dursley? He was supposed to be here ten minutes ago.)" One of the Board members asked his fellow member.
The Board member looks at the many Secretaries they've brought, "(Call Vernon Dursley again,)" He looks over to the young man talking to the many Staff with his Wife, Secretary, and Bodyguards,
He then saw the blonde man sighs, glaring at him when he was looking at them. The Board member quickly turns back to the Secretary, avoiding his piercing gaze. "(Tell him that the Shareholder is waiting to meet him.)" He whispers.
The woman nodded before noticing the door open. "I don't think that calling him is necessary Sir." She said, motioning his head to the doors. "Mr. Dursley and his Family are here."
Vernon arrived at the Party ten minutes late, however, he doesn't seem to be too worried. He looks at his Son, smiling after getting something to eat at a fast food restaurant.
Petunia held the piglet, smiling down at him. "Diddykins, have you had your fill? I know it's been at least ten minutes since we stopped by McDonalds'." She asked, concerned if her Son is hungry.
"I'm still hungry, Mum." Dudley looks up, "I want some burgers again!" He whines, wanting something to eat.
"Don't worry my Neffy Poo, we'll get some when the Party is over." Marge looks down at Ripper, sniffing around the floor. "Ripper is still hungry for more too."
"Yes, yes, we'll get some more burgers when we're finished talking about business with the Shareholder." The Walrus looks forward, to see one of the Board members approaching him and his Family.
"Mr. Dursley, you're here. Great," The Board member panicked and yet relieved that the director of the Company was here. "The Shareholder is here and was asking for you. I told him that you'll be here and-"
"Don't worry, I'm here now," Vernon said, puffing out his chest. "My Son just needs to eat something when we got out of the house." He said proudly.
"Yes, I understand. But a member of Shareholder's group said that if you didn't come in the next thirty or so minutes, he would leave-"
"How absurd! Doesn't that idiot know that my Brother is the one giving him money!?" Marge scoffs, sneering at the Shareholder wasting her Brother's time. "I swear, he should learn a lesson or-"
Vernon chuckles, patting his Sister's arms to stop. "N-Now we don't need to start off with hostilities." The Walrus said, trying to not escalate things (however, Marge was right. How dare he say something like that as if he has other things to do.)
The Board member cleared his throat, seeing things are calm now. "R-Right, Mr. Dursley I can personally introduce you and your family to Lord Fujimaru." He said,
Vernon and his Family (except for Dudley) were shocked. Not only the Shareholder was a director of a big Company funded by the United Nations, but he was a Lord on top of that.
'So he's a Lord? He must be rich if he was able to buy land from the government.' Vernon thought, seeing that Fate was with him.
'A-A Lord…that's something that could give us a higher stature in life!' Petunia fantasizes about mingling with the other Lords in the British Parliament and buying Land to earn themselves the title of Lord and Lady Dursley.
'If Vernon plays his cards right, then we can do whatever we want as Nobles.' Marge mentally said, thinking of the power they would have over the common people. 'The
They followed the Board member to meet Lord Fujimaru they heard about. The Board member faced the Dursley Family before looking at the group of strange yet elegant people.
The group looks at the old man, seeing the Family of Farm animals.
"Director Fujimaru, allow me to introduce to you the director of Grunnings, Mr. Dursley." Vernon approached the man with the blonde hair for a handshake.
Vernon smiles at the young blonde man, "A pleasure to meet you, Lord Fujimaru."
The Board member's mouth gaped open at the insult the Walrus to the Shareholder, "M-Mr.-"
The man's red eyes gaze down at the chubby hand of the Walrus. He looks up, clicking his tongue. "Mongrel, you dare to address me as my master? If I would have my way, you would be dead for that mistake." He growls at the Walrus.
"W-W-Wha-"
Suddenly, a hand patted the blonde man's shoulder causing him to stop. "Now, now, Gil. That's no way to speak to a person." A youthful voice said, coming behind the blonde. "Especially for someone to make a simple mistake,"
The Dursleys were shocked, a young man in his teens or early twenties approached them. "Forgive my Financier, he can be a bit much when it comes to me." The young man held out his hand to Vernon.
"My name is Fujimaru Ritsuka, the director of the Chaldea Security Organization and the Shareholder of Grunnings Drills." Ritsuka smiled, "I've been eagerly waiting to speak with you, Mr. Dursley." He said, hiding his annoyance with a fake smile.
Vernon cleared his throat, quickly shaking the young man's hand. "Y-Yes, m-my apologies Lord Fujimaru." He said, still shocked by the reveal.
"So it seems that my status of Lord was revealed." Ritsuka sighs, looking at the Board member. "I do hate using that title when it comes to business, just call me Mr. Fujimaru or director."
"O-Of course, Mr. Fujimaru," Vernon said before getting straight to business. "Now that introductions are out of the way, shall we talk about our contract?"
Ritsuka gave a fake smile, "Of course, that's why I'm here."
