Ch 19 The Wyvern Nest
Hogwarts
It's been a few months since Harry disappeared and now Sirius and Remus disappeared too.
Dumbledore has been on edge since those two went off the grid. However, he could only hope that they'll appear sooner.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, I have great news." The old Wizard looks up, seeing Minerva entering his office.
"Minerva, what news have you brought to me?" Dumbledore asked, curious what his Deputy Headmistress has to share.
McGonagall smiles, excited to share her findings with the Headmaster. "I have found the perfect candidate to fill in the empty Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor position." The Transfiguration Professor informed the old Wizard.
Dumbledore smiles, knowing that Minerva was working hard to fill in the missing position. "That's wonderful, Minerva." He stated, "I'm assuming Professor Quirinus Quirrell has returned from his abroad studies and is able to teach again?" He asked, knowing that Quirrell was hiding Voldemort and it'll be for the Greater Good to keep him close where he could watch him.
Plus, he's an important pawn to use when Harry Potter arrives.
"Actually, I have found someone else to fill in the role." Professor McGonagall corrected the old Wizard.
"W-What?" Dumbledore wasn't expecting that Minerva has gone with another Candidate for DADA Professor. "M-Minerva, Professor Quirrell; even though his application fits the Muggle Studies position; his knowledge with the Dark Arts is decent enough to fit the bill." He explains, trying to convince her to change her mind.
McGonagall nodded, understanding the Headmaster's reasoning. "Yes, I know about Professor Quirinus's credentials; but this Witch, her knowledge is beyond that!" She exclaims, already made an impression on her. "By Merlin, her way of thinking is extraordinary. Though, most parts I don't agree, her method is still effective."
A Witch who knew more about the Quirrell? For Minerva to speak highly of a Person must be knowledgeable indeed. Almost like Voldemort has…"Minerva, I would very much meet this…Witch."
"I figured you say as much." McGonagall turns to the door, "Professor Tonelico, you may come in." She called a name that is very unique and never heard of.
(Insert Winter Throne (Extended)
Dumbledore watched as his door opened, revealing a white-haired Woman with cold blue eyes. She wore a rather noble white and black dress robe, her hair tied in a ponytail and her aura demands respect.
The Woman approaches the desk, standing next to McGonagall. "Greetings, Headmaster Dumbledore; I am Aesc Tonelico, your new Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher." Morgan le Fay greeted, restraining herself from his stench.
Dumbledore was at a loss for words, never he met someone with a commanding aura such as her. His eyes twinkled to get a better read on her, however, when he did, it was like a smack in his face. "Are you well, Headmaster? If you are not, then we can halt this-"
"No, no, I just didn't expect a young Witch such as yourself to be the next Professor," Dumbledore admitted, showing off his elderly Headmaster façade.
"I appreciate your compliment, Headmaster." Morgan answers before continuing. "Now, I understand from how Professor McGonagall informed me, I have to pass a test from you?" The Lostbelt Servant asked, prepared to answer any question he would throw at her.
Dumbledore cleared his throat, nodding to the Lostbelt Queen. "Yes, it's a simple evaluation so to speak. Now, shall we begin?" The old Wizard asked,
Morgan nodded as they began the Headmaster's interview. They continued for a few minutes until Dumbledore got what he needed from her,
"Tell me, Ms. Tonelico, what is your view on teaching?" Dumbledore asked the Lostbelt Queen, doing this by the books.
Morgan closes her eyes before opening them. "My method of teaching is different from what your guidelines for Hogwarts. But I shall enlighten you,"
Dumbledore nodded, listening carefully for her views.
"I will not help my Students, but I shall teach them. I offer them knowledge worth millions, if they don't see it's worth then you will be dismissed. Expect no extra work or credit, for if you do what work is handed then you'll succeed." Morgan said, still disliking teaching here. "If you fail my course, then I will not offer absolution nor salvation; only to repeat the class in the coming year. That is what my view in teaching is."
Minerva was right, her way of Teaching is something unique. "Ms. Tonelico, that's a rather strict way of teaching," Dumbledore said, not liking how cold her voice was when speaking.
Morgan closed her eyes, staying with her conviction in teaching. "From my experience, this generation of Wizards lack the seriousness that goes with studying." She stated, remembering the reports. "To say the least, some take it much too seriously to dismiss other things. As such, it's in your best interest to have me correct these views on the young minds."
"I see, well…" Dumbledore has some serious red flags when speaking with the Fairy Queen. However, he can't exactly dismiss her. She might be a spy for the Dark Lord, the only thing to do. "Very well, you're hired, Professor Tonelico."
The Berserker remained cool-headed, showing no thriller or pleasure. "Thank you, very much Headmaster," Morgan responded, catching that McGonagall wanted her to stand.
"Professor McGonagall will show you the Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom." The Headmaster of Hogwarts explains, "You may decorate the room however you like."
Morgan nodded, following her fellow Professor out of the Headmaster's Office.
Once the two left, Dumbledore stroked his beard, not liking how he invited a possible spy within the Dark Lord's ranks. "What are you planning, Tom…" He shook his head, focusing on locating Harry Potter and the two Marauders.
France, Outskirts
The Shadow Border was going high speed, Wyverns were attacking the haul. However, whenever they got near, they were immediately slain by a Dragon Slaying Sword.
"DIE! DIE!" Kriemhild laughs, slashing Balmung at the Wyverns.
Harry stared at the monitor, watching as the Wife of Siegfried kills Wyverns. "Harry?"
The young Boy looks at Lancelot, protecting both him and Gabrielle. "Are you okay?" The Knight of the Lake asked his Grandson. "You haven't injured yourself with the seatbelt, right?"
"No, Grandpa," Harry answered, not noticing his pained expression. He was looking at his Father, seriously staring at the monitor while the Berserker, Kriemhild slew the Dr-er Wyverns.
"Keep going, I can see the Base Camp," Ritsuka commanded his Subordinates on the console. "Don't focus on the Wyverns, Kriemhild can handle it." He continued as the Border reached the Bounded Field that hides the Wyvern Nests.
Harry then saw his Father smirk, wondering why. Suddenly louder explosions and dying roars of the Wyverns erupted from the outside. "W-What was that?" He asked,
Ritsuka smiles, "Some Friends,"
Outside the Shadow Border, the Wyverns flew up as fire drove them away. "Heh, for a fire-breathing creature, they really don't like being burned." A Man in blue robes and wearing a Celtic body suit commented,
He spun his Staff, releasing fireballs with Runes he inscribed. "Take this!" They hurl toward the Wyverns as they fly away from the Border.
Jeanne stood beside the Caster, observing the Border and the Wyverns surrounding it. "There are at least thirty Wyverns left, Kriemhild might need some assistance." The Ruler stated, turning to the Servants behind her.
"Oi, Qin Liangyu, it's your turn." Caster Cu Chulainn called out to the Lostbelt Lancer.
"Hai!" A black-haired Woman with olive eyes and a tight white bodysuit responded. She wore a cape with golden clouds sewn inside and held a Spear.
She leaps forward, impaling the Wyvern in the neck, and landed next to the Berserker. "Kriemhild, there you are. We were wondering where you went." Qin Liangyu greeted the former Queen of the Revenge Realm, "So I presume, master summoned you?"
Kriemhild slashed up, before talking to the Lostbelt Servant. "Yes, it was Da Vinci's new invention that master used to call me." She explains, looking at the welcome party. "So you all made it then,"
"Of course, it's our master we're talking about." Qin Liangyu smiles, spinning her Spear and driving the Wyverns away. "Plus, there's Children on board, we can't let these Wyverns hurt them."
The Lancer then paused, looking at her fellow Chaldean Servant. "Speaking of which, did you see master's Son in there? Many were speaking-Hup!" She flips over, thrusting her Spear into a Wyvern's head letting it fall to the ground. "And said that he's traveling with Lady Mashu and master to the Outposts."
Kriemhild slashed up, sending curses to the Wyverns, and drove them off. "Yes, the little master is there." She stated, growling at the thought of him coming. "Personally, I don't know why master has decided now is the time to introduce the little master to our work. I mean he's eight and an eight-year-old should be in School and making Friends, not going off on adventures! And don't get me started on…" She rants, continuing her tangent as she slew Wyverns and shows concern over Harry.
Qin Liangyu chuckles slightly, knowing how Kriemhild would go on ranting about things that didn't agree with her. "Heh, I walked into that one…"
Soon all the Wyverns fled the scene, returning to their Nest. The Shadow Border slowed its pace as it came across Jeanne's group.
Both Servants leap down from the top, now waiting for their master to come out. "I swear I'll have a stern conversation with him once he comes out-"
The doors opened, revealing Ritsuka covering his eyes from the sunlight. "Ah, and we're still alive!" Ritsuka said optimistically. "See, I told you there's nothing to worry about Monsieur."
The French director gave a long sigh, guiding his Daughters down the ramp. "Oui, next time I should've stayed back in zee Outpost," Monsieur said, walking down the steps. "Come Girls,"
Harry pops his head out from the Storm Border, looking around the area. He was surprised how outside of Paris, the landscape was flat and looked quiet if there wasn't any indication of Wyverns.
Then his eyes caught the entourage of Servants waiting to greet them. "A-Are they really History's Heroes?" Harry blinks, feeling a bit nervous by just looking at them.
At first, he was amazed that his Father was able to call Heroes and even Villains to help protect the World. But now seeing just how many there were waiting for them, he was a bit nervous.
He squeaked a bit when his Father patted his head. "Harry, there's nothing to be scared of." He picked him up, knowing how steep the stairs were when going down.
Moriarty and Holmes step out of the Border, walking down the steps. "Similar to Traum, ain't that right Holmes?" The Ruler asked the Detective next to him.
"It is but do keep yourself restrained. We don't want a repeat at Reichenbach Falls." Holmes jokes with his Rival, joining the group of Servants.
"Here," Ritsuka picked up his Son, putting him over his shoulders. "Let's greet them together, right Mashu?" He asked his Wife, joining in with him.
Mashu looks up at Harry, smiling at him. "Hai,"
Once the young Family got off the Border, Ritsuka place Harry carefully to the ground. "There, now-"
"MASTER!" Harry flinched, hearing a familiar cry coming from their left.
In a flash, Harry was immediately grabbed by someone, being held in her arms. Harry blinks, looking at the same Woman that his Father called upon to help.
"Master, how could you bring a Child to a dangerous place like this? You are very aware that the Wyverns Nest is very dangerous, especially for a child around the little master's Age." Kriemhild scolded her master, holding the Child in her hands despite being a Wizard.
Ritsuka chuckles, seeing that the former Queen of the Revenge Realm is scolding him like with Seigfried and Seig. "K-Kriemhild, Harry will be-"
"Little master, don't worry, Nanny Kriemhild's here to make up your Father's mishap." Kriemhild hugged Harry, patting his messy black hair. She groans, realizing how many Wyverns are present here. "This place is no good for you, I'll have to take it up to-"
Harry just stares at the Berserker, going off into complaining about how unsafe it was like before. He looks at his Father who caught him glancing over to him.
"Kriemhild!" Ritsuka shouted, gaining the Berserker's attention.
"Hai?" Kriemhild asked, still holding onto Harry.
"Kriemhild, if you're concerned about Harry's safety then you can join the Childr-"
Kriemhild approaches her master, immediately taking up the offer from her master. "Yes, I accept your proposal master." The Berserker stated, "I shall make sure the little master doesn't get into any heroic situation."
Mandricardo held his hand to his master, "B-But master, aren't-"
Lancelot patted the Adventurer's back, feeling the same pain as him. "Don't worry, Mandricardo, even if we have another Servant joining the young master's entourage, we can do our part to impress him." The Knight of the Lake stated.
Mandricardo merely nodded, turning away from him. 'Man, here I thought I can act as the cool Uncle and show the tike how we Servants do it.' He mentally thought.
Ritsuka smiles, seeing Kriemhild is rather protective of his Son. Well, considering what she does with Seig, it doesn't matter. "That's good and all, but can you…" He motions his fingers downward, indicating for the Berserker to put down his Son.
"Ah, right." The Queen of the Revenge Realm places the young Wizard Boy down. "My apologies, little master. When I first saw you on the Shadow Border, I must've scared you." Kriemhild spoke,
Harry shook his head, seeing now that Kriemhild is a kind Person and that Dargon Slaying's side was her other. "N-Not really, at first I am but now you seem to be a nice Lady." He spoke innocently.
"I am Kriemhild, Wife of the Dragon Slayer Seigfried and in the Berserker Class." Kriemhild gently introduced herself to the young Heir. "Better yet, call me Nanny Kriemhild or Miss Kriemhild."
"N-Nice to meet you, Miss Kriemhild…" Harry smiles, a bit nervous now that the Wife of Seigfried introduced herself. He had read a bit about the Dragon Slayer on the plane as part of Professor M's lessons, but to meet the Wife is better than reading about it.
Harry then blinks, realizing that his Father could Summon Heroes from the Past. Then does that mean Seigfried is here too,
"Hello, master, Mashu. We're happy to see you made it here in one piece." Harry saw a Woman with blonde braided hair approach his Parents.
Both Ritsuka and Mashu turn to Jeanne, who was accompanied by Cu Caster. "Jeanne, Cu, great to see you again, how are things here?" Ritsuka asked his Servants.
Caster Cu shrugs, "Well considering that it's Mating Season for these Wyverns it's been difficult but manageable." The Child of Light informed the master of Chaldea.
The Ruler nodded, "Yes, many Servants have come in and out to ensure the Wyverns don't go to Civilization." Jeanne explains to Ritsuka. "They aren't acting the way they should during the past Seasons and-" She stopped when she noticed Harry staring at them.
Jeanne smiles, keeling to his level. "Hello there, you must be the Child master and Mashu Adopted." The Saint of the Flag greeted the young Boy.
Harry shyly smiles at the Saint. "H-Hello," He watched as Jeanne placed her hand on her chest.
"I go by as Ruler, however, since your Father revealed who we are," Jeanne said, introducing her True Name. "My True Name is Jeanne D'Arc, the Saint of the Flag, or the Maiden of Orleans that's what most People know me as." She smiles,
Harry's eyes widen, recognizing that name, "Ah, you're that Lady who fought against the English in the Hundred Years War!" The little Wizard exclaims, ecstatic and nervous on meeting one of France's many Heroes.
Jeanne gave a small laugh, petting the young master's head. "You really are a History fanatic, aren't you little master." The Ruler said, happy to see him learning despite traveling with his Father and Mother.
Qin Liangyu approaches the young master, seeing him open to meeting People/Servants. She watches him turn around, facing her. "Hi there, I'm Lancer but call me Qin Liangyu. I'm a Lostbelt Servant that serves your Family, young master."
"Lost…belt Servant?" Harry blinks, unsure what the term the black-haired Lancer spoke.
The Lancer froze, realizing that Harry wasn't exactly there in learning what the Lostbelts are yet. "O-Oh, i-it's a term that…describes People with…um, different History than their Proper Human History selves are and-"
"Qin Liangyu, I believe you're making the little Kid confused." Cu Chulainn Caster said, standing beside the black-haired Child. "He'll learn all that stuff later," He looks at Ritsuka and Mashu, nodding what he just said.
Harry looks at the Caster Servant, giving him a warm welcome. "Sorry about Qin Liangyu, Kid. She is new to this whole thing," Cu Caster cleared his throat, introducing himself to the young master. "So, introductions! My name is Caster, but since you know who we really are, I'm Cu Chulainn. I know that you-"
"You're Ireland's Child of Light, the Son of the God of Light Lugh," Harry answered, recognizing that name very well from his books. "You also carry Gae Bolg, given to you by Scathach,"
Cu Caster blinks, surprised that the little Kid knows who he is. The blue-haired Servant turns around, checking his back. "Do I have my information written on my back or something?" He asked, causing Harry to smile before giggling. "Every damn time, during the first meetings they know my name instantly!"
Ritsuka chuckles, crossing his arms at his First contracted Servant. "I believe your Legend is well known that you initially thought Cu," The master of Chaldea spoke.
Cu Caster sighs, "First name Mario, last name Mario…" He said, waving his hand.
"What are you talking about, Caster?" Jeanne asked, not getting what he was saying.
"Just something I say from time to time," The Caster responded,
Harry smiles, seeing these Heroes were just like everyday People. At first, he thought of them as People he should have a high standing, but now it's like a…a…Family reunion of sorts. He shuts his eyes, feeling a familiar touch on his head.
Looking up, he saw that his Father placed his hand on his head. "Harry, let me introduce you to everyone else," Ritsuka said, motioning to the others standing behind Ruler and Caster.
"Okay!"
Wyvern Nesting Grounds
The Wyverns roared, fleeing the area as steaks of light flashed within the ravine. "Get those Dragons into the cage, the Minister wants them contained and processed!" A Wizard ordered the group of Dragon Keepers.
"Yes Sir!" The Dragon Keepers responded, casting restraints on the Wyverns trying to flee.
One Dragon Keeper, a young Boy with red hair and freckles, freshly out of School steps forward. "Sir, I was wondering why are we capturing Dragons here and taking them away from their Habitat?" He asked.
The Leader of the Dragon Keepers turns to his new intern. "Charlie Weasley, was it?" He asked, receiving a nod from the young Keeper. "Well, Weasley; you might be too young to understand but let me tell you why."
"These smaller Dragons are too close to a Muggle Village and it's our job to relocate them to Romania where they can be contained there away from the Muggles." The Leader explains, hearing loud roars behind them.
"And what about the small cages? Wouldn't they be unhappy?" Charlie asked, curious about why they were using small fireproof cages for these Dragons.
The Leader sighs, turning to his Intern. "Well to keep them from moving around much and making transport easier on us." The Wizard sighs, shaking his head. "I swear, you need to put your head in the game, Weasley."
The red-haired Boy nodded, "Yes Sir." He flinched, hearing some clanging and roaring from the background.
"Oi! Be careful there, those are rare to find!" The Dragon Keeper Leader stated, pointing to the black Wyverns the other Keepers were forcibly pushing in a fireproof cage.
Charlie smiles, learning a lot from the Leader of the Dragon Keepers about handling Dragons. He took out his notepad, jotting down the notes he learned. "Merlin, this is the best research trip I've been on." He smiles, following the Wizards.
"So, it's their kind who's been causing trouble here." A black-haired Kunoichi with an eye patch spoke,
A woman wearing black armor and white hair stood next to her. "Tch, we should just burn them to the ground instead of recon, Chiyome." Jeanne D'Arc Alter said, hearing the cries of the Wyverns.
The Assassin nodded, agreeing with the Avenger on that term. "Yes but remember that we're only here to investigate why the Wyverns are acting up." Mochizuki Chiyome said, "Besides, master will be here soon to deal with this situation."
"Ha, I wonder what sort of punishment he'll give these blundering fools." The Dragon Witch commented, seeing where these Wizards are heading. "Hey, Assassin. Do you think we should at least prevent them from escaping their retribution?" She asked.
Chiyome looks at the exit of the Wyverns Nest. "Yes, we should. My Ninja Arts can at least slow them down while you retrieve master." The Assassin left, doing what she could to prevent them from leaving.
"Hai, hai," Jalter waved her hand, returning to the Base Camp.
