Chapter Thirteen: A New Mandalore

Disclaimer: See Chapter One

Hey everyone, welcome back to this tale.

Last time, was the Trial of Anakin Skywalker, I am glad you guys liked it, and some of you picked up some of the deeper cut old EU references last time, get used to it. It all has a purpose, trust me.

This time, well, lets just get on with the show.

Coruscant

Anakin and Padme were enjoying a nice moment with each other, now that the secret was known and Anakin had the blessing of the Council, or at least Yoda's blessing.

Anakin's comlink beeped, and Anakin shared a look with Padme. Obi-Wan knew where he was, and had allowed him some time to spend with his wife. "Something must have come up." He hit the button to answer it, "Hello, Master."

"Sorry to disturb you both, but you should watch the news," Obi-Wan's voice came back through.

"Why?" Anakin's brow arched in question.

"General Grievous is about to make a speech about the Jedi and the Republic," Kenobi told them.

"Wait, Grievous is going to do what?" Padme asked in shock.

"Just turn on the news," Obi-Wan told them before cutting off. Padme turned the Holonews on and the hologram of General Grievous materialized.

"Jedi! Chancellor Organa, I hope you hear me well. I come today to tell the Galaxy what happened to my homeworld of Kalee. For what your Republic and your Jedi did to Kalee is unforgivable." Grievous began, his voice full of rage. Anakin and Padme sat watching in concern at the fact that the cyborg killer was on live holonews.

Beginning his tale, Grievous tried his best to convince people to listen to his story. "My people for a long time suffered under the cruelty of a species known as the Yam'rii, or as we called them, the Huk. They coveted us as slaves and invaded our world to get that." Husband and Wife had to feel a little sympathy for the droid general if it was true. "I only did what I had to do. I drove the invader from my homeworld and then I went to make sure they could not do so again. The Huk begged your Republic and Jedi to intervene, you all believed their lies. We were driven back to our home, while the Huk desecrated our burial grounds and the Jedi did nothing about it!" Grievous was furious now. Anakin was surprised to hear about that, even he knew there were some things the one does not do in war, and one of them is to mess with burial grounds, even if they are that of your enemy.

"Your Republic brought economic ruin to my people. I had to watch as they starved and died, as my wives starved and died." Now, it was personal. "My children were kidnapped and subjected to all sorts of depravity by the Huk," for perhaps the first time anyone knew, there was a moment of sadness in the droid general's yellow eyes. "I had to make a deal with the IBC to get the relief supplies I needed for my people. When I learned of what happened to the burial grounds, I returned to finish what I had begun, but the Jedi bombed my shuttle, needing me to become this warrior you see before you." Anakin's brow arched, he knew that was not true at all.

"Probably a lie Dooku told him," Anakin commented to Padme.

"Definitely," she agreed.

"Listen well, I will burn Coruscant to the ground, and I will slaughter every Jedi I get my hands on, for no number of dead, will make up for what happened to my family. This is your only warning, I am coming for you and you will die!" Grievous ended his broadcast and the holo was replaced by news anchors that began to talk about what Grievous said.

Padme turned off the news, that was enough for a while, no doubt it would come up in the next Senate meeting. As if Bail needed more work on his plate, now he had this laid at his feet, and as if the Jedi needed their reputation damaged even further.

Obi-Wan would later that day issue a statement on behalf of the Council, stating that they had nothing to do with the Shuttle bombing and that they had no idea about the burial desecration, for if they did, they would have stopped it.

Serenno

Dooku sat at the head of a large table that had the members of the Separatist Council around it. This was going to be a difficult meeting, as he had to convince them to continue the war. Grievous was off making his speech against the Republic on the Holonet.

Sitting around the table: Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray, next in line of the Council after Grievous. Next to him was his right hand and Settlement Officer Rune Haako. The Federation had two members on the council due to being the largest of the mercantile groups backing the Confederacy. Next was Wat Tabor, Foreman of the Techno Union. They had to break him out after Ryloth. Then, there were the rivals of Shu Mai of the Commerce Guild and Passel Argente of the Corporate Alliance. On Dooku's other side was Archduke Poggle the Lesser of the Stalgisian Hive that ran Geonosis and its droid foundries. After him was San Hill of the Intergalactic Banking Clan, who besides Dooku was majorly funding the CIS, and provided the infamous Hailfire droid tanks, as well as 'saved' Grievous' life. Next to last of the major members was Po Nudo of the Hyper-Communications Cartel that maintained the CIS Shadowfeed for the propaganda Machine. Last, but not least, of the major members, the newest of them: Atai Molec, Prime Minister of Zygerria and head of the damaged but not destroyed Zygerrian Slave Empire. Then there were the minor members of Senators Tikkes of the much reduced Quarren Isolation League and Rogwa Wodrata of the Phelleem Sector.

Dooku knew this was about to be the hardest thing he has done in recent times, as he raised a hand to signify for quiet. He sighed and stood up. "Ladies and Gentleman, we stand in a difficult spot. With Lord Sidious out of the picture, there is no more safe release for any of you if you get captured, and believe me, the Jedi and the Republic will be gunning for you. They now have the evidence to see you all disbanded or nationalized."

"No, thanks to you Count," Gunray said. Everybody had seen the Trial and Dooku's role in it. Dooku's lips twitched under his beard. He was beginning to think that if things go sideways for the Confederacy, he will give Grievous his license to kill Gunray.

"I know most of you joined the CIS to be able to continue to practice Free Trade that was being hampered by the corrupt Republic. I promise this, when the war is over, you will have your free trade. I am going to put it bluntly, you have a choice to make. Continue to support the CIS and survive the war, or be dissolved by the Republic." Dooku had to cut right to the chase, he was not going to let Gunray twist it any more. Everyone on the Council gave it a thought. "Your representatives in the Senate are being thrown out, there will be no more playing both sides any more, for better or worse." This was mostly for the Federation, Banking Clan and the Techno Union. Gunray took a moment of thought about Lot Dodd, who was his agent in the Republic Senate, and the one that had succeeded him as Senator of the Federation.

Every member of the Council looked between each other, seemingly in agreement. "Very well, Count, as long as you keep buying the droids, we will keep giving them to you," Gunray said.

"Good," Dooku could feel a headache coming. He needed a drink of his favorite wine after this. Gunray mentioning how much he was spending on this damn war was not helping. It was why after a hundred, Dooku had stopped ordering Scorpenek Annihilators. They will make due with what is out there.

"Are there any projects you want us to start looking back into?" Wat Tambor asked.

"Yes, ramp up production of the Defoliator cannons for the AATs, do we still have plans for the Seismic Tanks?" Dooku told them. Defoliators were going to prove useful against the Republic's forces.

"Yes," Shu Mai answered. The Seismic Tanks were originally made for the Commerce Guild's mining efforts and retooled for war.

"Good those too. Have the B3 Ultras been fixed?" Dooku asked.

"Not entirely, unfortunately," Wat told him.

Dooku turned to Poggle, "I assume the Super Tanks are out of the question, as well?"

"Not entirely, but with Geonosis under heavy watch, we may need to change locations," Poggle clicked in his native tongue. It was a good thing Dooku spoke Geonosian. After the second battle of Geonosis, the Republic made sure to not need to return for a third time.

"Foreman Tambor, does the Techno Union still maintain the operation on Mustafar?" Dooku asked, with things moving the way they were, he needed to think about the logistical side of things, specifically war materials. It works out that he had to stop by Mustafar anyway.

"We do," Wat said after a moment of thought.

"Good, those foundries must remain secret." Dooku stressed, with the raw materials of Mustafar's lava mining, they would be okay for a bit.

"If I may, Count. I propose sending one of my own to Mustafar to help oversee droid production there, Gizor Dellso," Poggle inputted. Gizor had become his right hand after a Clone Commando squad took out Sun Fac.

"Very well, it is important to keep Dellso away from the fronts of the war." Dellso had created the shutdown command code that could shut down the entire droid army if the Republic got hold of him, so Dooku was right to worry about him. His headache started to come on, he had to wrap up the meeting. "That is it for now, Gentlemen. Meeting adjourned." Everyone, but Dooku stood up to leave.

"San, wait a moment." As the others filed out of the room, San sat in the spot that was just vacated by the Archduke.

"There is another project that I want you to look back into. The EG Jedi Hunter Droids. I will provide the crystals for their lightsabers," Dooku told him. It was the most secret of all the projects they had ever created, it had promise, until Sidious got concerned and let the Jedi know about it and the Council had Skywalker come and destroy it, same with B3 Cortosis droids.

"I understand why you did not want to mention it in front of the Council," Hill said. He was one of the few in the Confederacy that even knew about the project.

"Yes, they don't need to know about it in case one of them gets captured, especially Gunray," Dooku rolled his eyes.

"As you wish, Count." San Hill paused for a moment then had to ask something. "Speaking of projects, how is our living project?" Dooku knew he was talking about Grievous.

"Doing alright for now. I just need to keep him focused on the mission, to keep him as the killer I know he can be." Dooku sighed. Once in a while, for reasons Dooku did not know why, Grievous had a habit of not finishing the job, and being comparable like some holofilm villain that twirled their mustache. Most of the time he is the killer he is meant to be, but once in a while he wasn't what he meant to be. Almost like Grievous is trying to have a little fun once in a while.

"Good, because if he ever finds out what really happened with the shuttle crash, we're both dead." San Hill and Dooku had conspired that plot to guarantee their pawn's service.

"You're dead, San," Dooku corrected, Dooku taught Grievous everything he knew about Saber combat, and knew how to fight him with all four arms. Plus, Force Lightning would subdue the cyborg quickly. Not to mention the secret kill-switch Dooku carried on him at all times. "Besides, I think Grievous has more than one reason to come after you." San looked at the Count with horror, but understanding.

"Does he know anything about it?" Hill reasserted, cause now he was worried.

"I think he suspects something, but he has been focused on the war right now. So the best move is to start making those droids again, he'll be happy with more specialized droids to fight Jedi with," Dooku told him.

"Very well Count, it will be done." Hill stood and left the meeting room. Dooku himself went to his personal quarters and got his favorite brand of wine and poured a stiff glass of the stuff. He downed the glass and sat behind his desk and waited for Grievous to return from giving his speech.

Mandalore

With the meeting of the Clan heads upcoming, both Kryze sisters and Satine's now son walked through the hall of warriors past. It was Beau's idea to visit this part of the Museum of history, to get her sister a bit more familiar with the role she will take up.

For Bo, the experience was a bit overwhelming. To see the leaders of old for the first time in a while, and to think that one day, her sister will be among them in honor.

For Satine, it was also a bit overwhelming, but for a different reason. For so long she had dedicated herself to peace and pacifism. Now, she was to lead her people in war, the very opposite of the ideals she had held so dear all these long years. Korkie looked at the statues in a bit of wonder as he had never set foot in this hall.

"Mandalore the First, the Conqueror, the Indomitable, the Ultimate who needs no introduction, the Preserver, the Lesser, the Vindicated, the Avenger, the Binder, the Uniter, the Jedi Lord, the Destroyer, The Great, the Hammer born." Bo was reading off the nameplates of some of the more well known Mandalas of the past. "All leading up to Jaster Mereel." She came to stand in front of the last statue.

"There should be one of Jango Fett here," Satine said. It was funny, months ago she would have maintained her stance on the man being a common bounty hunter, to distance themselves from him. However, things change.

"Agreed," Bo said.

"Are you going to want to put one up of Vizsla?" Satine asked, also she felt she owed Bo the favor for saving her life.

Bo thought about it for a moment. On one hand, she had loyally followed the man for years, but on the other she knew he would have tried to execute Satine at some point after the take over. "Yes, but you don't have to fully honor the man on his nameplate," Bo offered the compromise.

"Very well, what title to give him?" Satine asked her.

"The False Mandalore works for me," Bo said.

"So, who was Mandalore the Great?" Korkie asked.

"He led our people through the Mandalorian Excision, he failed at what he tried to do, but the warrior ways survived thanks to him," Bo enlightened her nephew on the warrior he was looking at. "The Excision is what led to the beginnings of the New Mandalorian movement that your mother came to lead. Turning back to her sister, "One day, you will have a statue here, Satine. Mandalore The Peacekeeper." Bo-Katan already had Satine's name picked out for her.

"Not a bad title, fitting what I intend for our people to be." Satine sighed, it was becoming more real by the day.

"Speaking of titles," Bo turned back to the statue of Jaster, "What about Jaster and Jango? What titles are fitting?"

"Mandalore the Reformer and Mandalore the Hunter," Satine felt they were very fitting. Bo nodded in agreement.

Satine looked over at Korkie who was looking at Tarre Vizsla's statue with his Darksaber in hand, and looked back at the real thing on Bo's hip.

Bo knew what her sister was thinking, she had been mulling over the same question, how to get the saber rightfully into Satine's hands without just giving it to her or Satine having to kill her for it, and she may have found a solution. "Challenge me," she said.

"What?" Satine asked.

"In front of the clan heads, challenge me to unarmed combat, sis. Get me to yield and take the Darksaber as your trophy for beating me. Besides, we probably still got some things to work out anyway."

"Well, that is one way to do it," Satine had to agree to the plan as she had no better idea. "Also, we need to get Korkie's armor reforged." They just haven't had the time to get down to the Great Forge to do it.

"We still have time before the meeting, cause if Boba actually shows, I doubt we will have time to do it later," Bo told her.

"Right," Satine agreed. Arla had showed up yesterday and was committed to the mental ward at the hospital there in Sundari for the time being, and heavily watched and medicated right now. "Korkie, it's time for your armor to be reforged to fit you."

The three of them flew their speeder down to the Great Forge. Despite being active, it hadn't forged armor in along time.

"Duchess, to what do we owe the pleasure?" The lead smith greeted them warmly.

"Getting my father's armor reforged to fit Korkie," Satine said.

The smith's face shifted to a more serious look. "At last, I'll get the tools. Have Korkie get the armor off and place it next to the forge." The smith turned and went to inform the other workers of what was going on, then got the beskar forging tools, as the others cranked the Cryo-Furnaces up. Korkie got the armor off and placed it where he was supposed to, now only wearing the body glove that went under the armor.

"I have waited a long time to forge beskar armor again, since the era of your father," the smith said. As the armor was reforged, the air seemed to ring with the strikes of a hundred hammers. When all was said and done, Korkie had a set of armor that properly fit him. As Bo helped her nephew get it on, Satine had words with the smith.

"I suppose this is the beginning of our revival?" The Smith asked.

"Yes, I believe many people have family armor in storage that they will need to get reforged for them, but soon, we will need to start forging new armor. Luckily, I know where some beskar deposits are that haven't been touched." Satine had had a mining survey done a while back, and it reported back there were still untapped deposits that they could use. At the time, she had no interest in using it, but now it was time. The Kryze family left the Forge to get ready for the meeting.

Council Meeting

Satine's throne room looked like it was ready for a meeting of ministers with the chairs arranged to face her throne. The only clan head that was already present was Ursa Wren of Clan Wren. Satine was a bit nervous about this meeting, but Bo-Katan taking her hand in support was definitely helping. Then the clan heads began to show up. Clan Ordo and Clan Kast were among the first to show up. Rook Kast herself was there to represent Clan Kast and their vassal, Clan Rook. Clan Vizsla had their own rep, to which Bo was glad that there was a member among her loyalists. Clan Saxon was declared traitors and would not be present at the meeting.

Everything was going fine, besides Fenn Rau arguing with Clan Vizsla, until Clan Skirata's representative came in. In walked Kal Skirata, wearing his sand gold colored armor, the color of revenge. Satine and Bo tensed up on seeing him. Kal was a bit of a fanatic, but he was no Death Watch or True Mandalorian, and definitely not a man of peace. The Kryze sisters knew he was going to be a problem. "Welcome, Clan Skirata, take a seat and we'll begin shortly." The look on Kal's face gave away his feelings about Clan Kryze.

For a few more minutes, there was a bit of still air in the room as there was still one Clan representative missing. The one for Clan Fett, specifically.

"I guess he isn't going to show," Satine said to her sister, a bit disappointed.

"Give him a minute, he probably is nervous like you," Bo said.

Then, it happened. In walked the teenaged clone son of the last true Mandalore, Boba Fett, wearing his father's armor, it fitting a bit loose on him. There was a bit of a murmur among the other clan heads. To some, Boba Fett was heir to the seat of sundered warriors, and that the throne was his by right of blood, but Boba had no interest in it, not even much interest in his own heritage, despite his father training him like a Mandalorian. He walked in and quietly took the empty chair.

" I see you got my message," Bo-Katan said to the teen.

"I did, to be honest I wanted nothing to do with this, but I came anyway, to see if I could get my father's remains interred here." Boba said.

"Of course," Satine said.

"Boba, do you remember me from Kamino," Kal asked the young Fett.

Boba took a moment to look at the older Mandalorian chieftain, it finally clicked after a moment. "Uncle Kal?" Despite believing that the older man was a bit of a fanatic, when he was young, Kal was kinda like a distant uncle to the boy, he would give him treats that the Kaminoans wouldn't allow, and tell him stories when Jango was busy. It was the uneasy agreement between Jango and Kal that allowed for it.

"That's right, Uncle Kal." Kal said, glad to see the boy involved with his heritage. He turned back to the Duchess. "I suppose it is time to get down to business."

"Indeed, you all know why you have been called. We are here to appoint a new Mand'alor, who will lead our reborn armies in this war on the side of the Republic. The candidate being put forth is my sister, Duchess Satine Kryze." Bo-Katan addressed the clan heads, and watched them all ponder it.

Ursa was first to stand and voice her support, "Clan Wren supports Clan Kryze and the Duchess as leader.

Rook Kast was next up, "For defeating Lord Maul, the last rightful leader of our people in combat, Clans Kast and Rook support Clan Kryze." Several other of the clan heads looked at the woman in confusion as what had happened on planet recently.

Clan Vizsla's rep stood. "In the pursuit to redeem the name of my clan, and that I followed Lady Bo-Katan when the new civil war began, and that Clan Kryze defeated the Usurper Maul who killed my clan mate, Pre Vizsla. Clan Vizsla supports Clan Kryze." Satine never thought she would hear those words ever being said.

Fenn Rau stood next, as one of the few Mandos fighting in the Clone War right now for the Republic, he was glad that his people would be helping in the war. "I can't believe I am going to agree with a Vizsla, but Clan Rau stands behind Clan Kryze and will serve with them in the skies of war."

Clan Ordo and the other minor clans gave their support, the fact about Maul helped sway them, and that they would get their war. That only left Clans Fett and Skirata, both were going to be issues for different reasons. It was Skirata that was the more vocal of the two.

"Do we really think this pacifist that once the Clan Wars were over, exiled anyone that did not bow to her whims of peace, is fit to lead warriors?" There it was, Satine knew it was coming.

"Yes, I did do that, at the time I thought it necessary to bring about change to save the people from more suffering and death, but now I see I was wrong to deny them what is their birthright and am willing to make the change. If I wasn't, we would not be here today to discuss this."

"Satine is ready for this, she has experience as a leader of people that will serve her well in battle, and the people are ready to listen to her commands."

"Why should we side with the Republic and specifically the Jedi?" Kal, like many traditionalists hated the Jedi as hypocrites and for other reasons, for basically the fact of using a slave army because it was convenient for them to do so, and the ones that openly distrusted the clones and the situation his unofficial daughter in law was in.

"Says the man that helped train the GAR and currently works for Republic Intelligence, and if our sources are true, has adopted a former Jedi as a son of his," Bo countered Kal.

"Bardan has the same issues with the Jedi Order as I do about the fact that the Clones are basically a slave army that the Order is using." Satine made a note to talk to Obi-Wan about that, she had an idea of what to do with the Clones when the war was over.

"We are not siding with the Confederacy if that is what you are proposing," Satine began, hoping it was untrue.

"No, I am not saying that," Kal could not support the CIS, the same that were killing the clones he trained, "what I am saying is why not do as is our history is and conquer to reclaim what is ours?"

"We will not be conquerors, but liberators, peacekeepers. We go to war to ensure that peace comes soon," Satine put her foot down. Back and forth, Satine and Kal argued for a few minutes.

"Do you at least swear by the Resol'nare? Or do you wish to remain Dar'manda?" Kal had some principles to uphold, to even get his support, he wanted to make sure of that. Dar'manda was the word for soulless or ignorant of heritage.

"Yes," Satine pointed to herself, wearing her unpainted silver armor. "I also recently adopted my nephew as my own son, and just today, we got my father's armor reforged for him.

"Satine, in her own ways, lives by the Resol'nare the same as you, Skirata. All we ask is that you be willing to be open to a bit of change. Our father, Adonai Kryze, wanted Satine to become a Mandalorian dedicated to war and peace, and she is taking the steps to ensure that vision comes true. The insult of Dar'manda irked Bo-Katan on behalf of her sister.

Kal was not a stupid man, he could see the leanings of the other heads of the Clans. "Very well, Clan Skirata will support Clan Kryze, if she swears to help the Clones get out their bondage."

"I will help them, I promise," Satine swore to help.

That left Boba as the last undecided Clan Head. "Clan Fett?" Bo asked.

"I can not serve alongside Jedi, after the death of my father, and Mace Windu's refusal to apologize to me for it." Boba was angry and thought about what had happened. However, I can not serve the Confederacy either."

Satine had a bold idea, "if I could get Master Windu to apologize to you, Boba, would you be willing to at least serve with clones and fellow Mandalorians?"

Boba thought for a moment, "I suppose I could, just keep me away from the Jedi. Clan Fett will support the Duchess." There it was, the last vote they needed. It was official, Satine Kryze was now Mandalore the Peacekeeper.

"One thing though, what about the Darksaber? In order to lead, she would need it." The rep of Clan Vizsla had to open their mouth, which all in all, made sense as it was tied to their clan and with Tarre Vizsla being a Jedi and Mand'alor, it was a symbol of leadership.

"I guess that's just one last thing to settle. Bo, I challenge you, one warrior to another, to unarmed combat," Satine said, putting their plan in motion.

"I accept your challenge, sis." Turning to the clan heads, "clear some room." With room made for them, both sisters squared up and began their fight. While the clan heads, besides maybe Ursa, didn't know they had planned this fight, they made it convincing, while they both pulled their punches, it was not by much. Unlike the sparring that happened before the fight with Maul, this was real. All the animosity that had bubbled up between the sisters during their separation came out in the fight. In many ways, this was the Mandalorian version of therapy, Satine's fighting ability impressed the clan heads to be sure. Everything was going to plan, apart from feeling Satine punching her in the face. In a grapple, Satine wisely grabbed the Darksaber from Bo's belt and tossed it aside, to say that she had disarmed it from Bo. Breaking the grapple, a swift kick to the back of the knees brought Bo down, and Satine was on top of her, beating her face in a bit. It was all for the show.

"Alright, Alright, I yield, Satine, I yield," Bo cried. Satine almost had allowed herself to get swept up in the fight as she looked down at her sister, who had several bruises on her face and a mini black eye. Calming down, she got off of her sister, and looked at the other clan heads. All of them were impressed by her ability. She offered her hand to Bo, who took it and got to her feet. Satine walked over and picked up the Darksaber where she had thrown it.

"I claim this sword as my prize, and my title as Mand'alor," Her thumb found the activator switch and ignited the weapon. It's flat, black blade sprang to life. She held the thing up to look at it. It was not lost on her, all the lives that blade has taken, either righteously or murderously, as well as the fact that she was nearly skewered on it recently. Now, it will serve the ways of peace, or bringing peace to the galaxy, just as its creator used it. She raised the sword high, and the clan heads kneeled before her in fealty. "I will say this, follow the person, not the sword," she said, as she deactivated the weapon and hung it on her own hip next to one of her blasters.

"All hail Mandalore the Peacekeeper," Bo said to the clan heads and they repeated it.

"You are all dismissed for now, just be ready for me to call. If anyone wants to stick around on the planet to help start training the new soldiers, I would appreciate it." Satine told them, and they started to file out, with Rau saying that he had to return to Mygeeto and Skull Squadron.

Before Boba could leave, Bo-Katan and Satine stopped him. "Boba, wait a moment."

"Yes?" he asked.

"First, let me extend my own apologies for your father. After he died, my New Mandalorians tried to bury the fact that he was one of us. For that, I am sorry, when able we can recover his body from Geonosis and give him a proper burial here, and we intend to have a statue of him made and added to the hall of past heroes.

"Too little, too late, but I do appreciate it," Boba crossed his arms.

"Are you staying? The house that belonged to Jaster is yours by right, as he is your adoptive grandfather."

"Thanks, but I don't know. I was enjoying what I had going as a bounty hunter," Boba said.

"At least stay a few days, we would like to have you by to talk about Jango," Satine said.

Seeing that they were going to keep twisting his arm, "Alright, I'll stay a few days.

Then the moment came that they had wanted to get to. "Boba, we have someone we think you should meet," Bo-Katan told him.

"Who?" He was now curious as to who they meant.

"Your Aunt, Arla Fett," Satine told him.

To say he was surprised, was an understatement. "My Aunt? I have an Aunt?" Jango never talked about her much with him, thinking she was dead.

"Yes, she served for a time in the Death Watch, and believed her brother was dead, as he thought she was dead. It's a long story, but if you want to meet her, she is stable mentally for now." Bo smiled at him, hoping he would listen to them.

"Alright, I guess I'll meet her," Boba said. They all got in a speeder and headed for the hospital.

Upon reaching Arla's suite, "Let me go in and make sure she is stable," Bo said, while Satine and Boba took a seat outside the suite.

"I thought I was the last of my clan," Bo was a bit overwhelmed.

"Yeah, I had been a bit worried sick about Bo while we were estranged. I am just glad to have her back and on my side."

However, things were not that good. Satine heard Bo curse in Mando'a and called out for her, "Satine! Get a nurse or Doctor to get her meds!"

Inside

"Arla! Listen to me! Listen to me! It's me, Bo-Katan!" Bo tried to get through to the woman who was in the middle of a breakdown over her guilt for helping Death Watch who had killed her family. Bo hugged the other woman to try to stop her from trying to harm herself, which is what got her committed to a mental ward in the first place. The hug seemed to get through to Arla, who seemed to come to her senses.

Through tear blurred eyes, "Lady Bo-Katan?" Arla asked.

"Yes, It's me," Bo told her. Arla hugged her back. Bo was one of the only members of Death Watch that was nice to her during her time. Ursa was the other one. Bo had looked out for her, before she had gotten captured. Arla cried into Bo's shoulder. Bo held her former subordinate as she cried. "Its okay, Arla. You are safe, Death Watch is gone." Arla seemed to calm down a little. Just in time as the staff came in to get her medicated.

Bo came out of the room. "We'll come back later."

"I figured, I heard you curse before calling out to me," Satine said.

"What's wrong with her?" Boba asked, concerned.

"Satine, why don't you take him, get some food and fill him in, while I go get my face looked at," Bo referring to Satine punching her face in.

"Right, good idea." They split up for the time being.

Later

Once Bo and Satine had gotten notice that Arla was stable and lucid for the time being they tried again. Bo went in first.

"Arla?" Bo's voice called out.

"Lady Kryze?" Arla's voice came back.

Bo entered the room. "How are you doing?"

"I am okay, I think, for now. The meds have been helping," Arla half smiled at her.

"Good, that is what they are for," Bo said as she came and sat next to Arla.

"Thank you, for earlier. The nurse said that you helped me when I was not well," Arla said.

Bo-Katan smiled at her, "of course, I looked out for you in the Watch, and I will continue to do so."

"You said Death Watch is gone?" Arla asked.

"Yes, they are gone. What is left is reformed into the new True Mandalorians," Bo told her. "Hey, there are some people that are interested in meeting you.

"Who?" Arla asked, excited to have visitors.

"Satine, come in," Bo called out. Satine walked in first, Boba hiding a bit behind the Mand'alor. "This is my sister, Satine Kryze, the new Mand'alor."

"Hello, Arla. It's good to see one of Clan Fett alive," Satine greeted.

"I am the last of my clan, my Lady," Arla said, depressed. Thank the Force she was mediated right now. Arla noticed Boba behind Satine, "Who is this?"

"You are not alone, Arla." Satine nudged Boba forward to see her. "This is your nephew, Boba Fett."

"Boba, I have a nephew?" Arla repeated, looking at him, he reminded her so much of her brother when he was young.

"Hi, Aunt Arla. I thought you were dead. Dad didn't speak of you much," Boba said as he took Bo's place next to Arla.

"It's understandable why, I thought Jango was dead, and I was alone," Arla said with a sigh.

"He didn't know you were alive either," Boba said.

After a few more minutes of the introductory talk, Arla asked a question. "Tell me, who is your mother?" She was curious as to who the woman was that her brother loved to give her a nephew.

"I have no mother, I am a clone, raised as a son. The closest I have had to a mother figure in my life was either Taun We or Zam Wesell, and Zam is dead," his mind turned back to that day when Jango came home without Zam and Jango told Boba what happened. Jango had found Taun We in their apartment the next morning with Boba's head in her lap. They did not say a word to each other about it, but when Boba woke up, Taun We had simply smiled at him and left the apartment. Some days he did miss her, but knew he could not return to Kamino for one reason or another. "Taun We is the Kaminoan that cares for the Clones of Dad that go on to serve in the current war." Arla absorbed the information with interest. "Zam was a bounty Hunter that worked as Dad's partner on multiple missions, and would visit and spend time around us every so often. Dad was forced to kill her to keep her quiet on a mission to Coruscant," small tears formed in his eyes thinking about. Arla wrapped an arm around her nephew to comfort him.

"Tell me, what happened to my brother?" Arla knew her brother was dead, just not how.

"He was slain by a Jedi in battle," he told her. Satine and Bo were ready to intervene if it set Arla off again. Fortunately, it didn't.

"As noble as a Mandalorian can get," Arla said, sad at the news, but she had been living for so long thinking that she was the last of her clan.

"Hey, me and Satine have some things we need to do, will you two be okay?" Bo asked the two Fetts.

"Yeah, I think we'll be okay," Arla said. Boba agreed with her. The Kryze sisters left the last members of Clan Fett to talk, with some people on monitor duty on Arla, in case the meds wore off and she tried to kill herself or attack Boba. Thankfully, it seemed not to come to that. Perhaps the fact that she had a living family left made it seem like she had a purpose to live again.

As they walked out there, "Do you think she will ever wear her armor again?" Satine asked her sister, as she knew Arla better.

"I don't know, she is definitely a bit messed up in the head, perhaps one day. I will say this, I think we need to keep Boba around for a while, you saw how she changed when he walked in," Bo told her.

"I agree, but that is his choice to make, not ours," Satine reminded her sister.

"I know, I just want the best for her, for both of them." Bo had to correct herself due to her own bias on the fact that Boba was a clone.

"So do I," Satine said. They returned home for the rest of the day.

The ascension of a new Mand'alor caused ripples to be felt all across the planet. With Satine's call to start gathering those that wished to take up arms again, things were moving the way she had wanted. Mandalore the Peacekeeper she was called, and she intended to keep the promise that was inherent in that title.

There you have it everyone, chapter 13 of this tale. So, Grievous blasted the Jedi and Republic on live news, so that is interesting. Speaking of the General, anyone catch my reference to the two different versions of Grievous of old lore vs TCW? Hehehe. The War is getting dangerous for the Jedi and the Republic with some of those projects Dooku wanted production to ramp up. Especially, those Jedi Hunter droids, deep cut there. Also, Boba and Arla met, something that never happened in lore, which is a damn shame.

I have something to tell all of you. Next chapter, Chapter 14 will be the last for a while. I will be putting this story on a bit of a Hiatus after next chapter, or rather rotate it out of being my main focus. I am still having fun with it, but I have a lot of projects in the works I want to work on. Also, I will need time to figure out how to write the war once it starts again, this probably won't be the last time I do something like this either, cause we are in for the long haul on this story. I will further explain my plans next chapter. See you then.

The Emperor is out. Peace.
