Chapter 130: Day Four of the Grand Magical Games
Hearing the loud cheering of the crowd, Dante stood in the stands along with the rest of Fairy Tail team a. The announcer then started to proceed with the competition portion of the fourth day. The name of the competition was Naval Battle. Given the name of the competition it was assumed that water would play a key role. With confidence Lucy started to speak to the team.
"Okay I got this one guys, don't worry" stated Lucy in a confident tone. Dante turned to her, unsure if he should let Lucy compete since she was the weakest person on the team. Lucy was back on the team since Wendy was recovering from her fight she had yesterday. After thinking about it for a moment, Dante remembered that Lucy had Aquarius. While it might not be her own strength, Aquarius would likely come in handy in a battle that involved water. Nodding his head, Dante started to speak.
"Sure, go ahead and try your best" responded Dante as the rest of the team nodded their heads and wished Lucy good luck. Once every team had selected who was participating, the announcer started to explain the rules.
A large floating ball of water appeared in the arena and each competitor jumped inside. Dante smiled at the sight of so many bikini clad women in front of him while the announcer explained the rules. The rules were simple, the last person remaining inside the bubble won. The twist was that once only two people remained inside a five minute timer would begin. If during that time a person was knocked out of the bubble, then they would fall into last place instead of second.
"Do you think Lucy can do this" asked Gray to the rest of the team. While Natsu nodded his head with a wide smile, Dante started to speak.
"I don't know, Lucy might have Aquarius which should be a big help, but her competition is fierce given the nature of the game" responded Dante as he looked at Juvia who was representing Fairy Tail team b. Seeing that his team was still looking at him, Dante continued to speak.
"You put Juvia in water and that is all she wrote. I suspect Juvia will come away with this one. That is unless she gets distracted somehow" stated Dante thinking that Juvia had this one in the bag since she was surrounded by her element.
Soon after Dante said this the game started. Dante almost felt bad for Quatro Puppy since they were the first ones to be eliminated, almost right at the beginning of the game. Lucy wanting to impress everyone summoned Aquarius, but her attack was blocked by Juvia's water cyclone. After an intense battel between the two water mages, Aquarius left Lucy to fend for herself. Juvia then used her water magic to eliminate a large portion of the competition so only herself, Lucy and Minerva remained inside. When Juvia launched her attack, she called it Darling Dante Love. After her attack, Juvia looked towards Dante to see his reaction.
"Damn man that is creepy" stated Gray. Dante simply smiled in response as he started to speak.
"I think it's sweet" responded Dante giving Juvia a thumbs up. Juvia had hearts in her eyes, she was elated that her beloved appreciated her attack named after him. Since Juvia was distracted at the moment, she did not notice until it was too late. Suddenly Juvia was hovering out of the water ball and crashed into the ground eliminated.
"Damn I guess I did say Juvia would win unless she got distracted" stated Dante.
Now it was just Lucy and Minerva inside the ball of water. The five minute timer began indicating that it would first have to run out or else the next person that fell out would land in last place. Unsurprisingly to Dante, Lucy was quickly overpowered since Minerva took away her spirit keys. This was the problem with Lucy, she needed to learn how to fight without relying on the strength of her spirits.
It quickly became apparent that Minerva had no intention of knocking Lucy out of the bubble of water any time soon. Even though if Minerva did eliminate Lucy, she would ensure Lucy gets last place, she was clearly enjoying beating on her. Over and over again Minerva's magic pummeled Lucy causing her a great amount of pain and suffering. Once the timer ran out, Minerva continued to torture Lucy with her magic. Serval times Lucy was about to be blasted out of the ball of water only for Minerva to use her magic to ensure Lucy would remain inside.
Dante felt rage well up inside him as he watched Minerva torture Lucy for no reason. It was clear that Minerva was way stronger than Lucy and had won but this was just barbaric. Over and over again Lucy suffered blow after blow, unable to put up even a small amount of resistance. Dante along with the rest of his team looked over at Saber Tooth with death glares. No matter what happens, Dante would make sure every single one of them would pay for this. For serval minutes this continued until the game was called off and Minerva declared the winner.
"Lucy are you okay" asked Dante in a concerned tone as he held onto her damaged body. After the game was called, Dante along with the rest of the team rushed over to Lucy. Seeing that Lucy was unconscious from the brutal assault, Dante stood up sill with Lucy in his arms.
"You are going to pay for that" stated Dante to Minerva in an angry tone. Minerva laughed before she responded.
"Haha it's not my fault that you fairies are so weak" responded Minerva in a condescending tone. Seeing her, Dante could not wait to wipe that smug look off her face.
"You take that back" stated Natsu in an angry tone as he walked towards Minerva. The rest of the Saber Tooth team joined Minerva and for a moment it looked like an all-out battle between the two guilds would break out. Sighing to himself, Dante knew that he and the rest of the team needed to walk away for now.
"Natsu not now" stated Dante in a strained voice. He wanted nothing more than to make Minerva along with the rest of Saber Tooth to pay right now but it wasn't the right time. Natsu turned towards Dante and started to speak.
"You're not just going to let them get away with this are you" responded Natsu in an angry tone.
"No, I'm not Natsu, now is just not the right time. We can get them back with interest during the rest of the games. Right now, we need to get Lucy to a healer" responded Dante. After taking a moment to consider these words, Natsu finally sighed and nodded his head. Dante along with the rest of his team then headed towards a recovery room so Lucy could rest.
"I'm sorry everyone, I failed again" stated Lucy in a sad tone as her guild mates stood next to her bed.
"You didn't fail Lucy, you got us eight points. You should be proud" responded Dante in a supporting tone. The rest of Fairy Tail voiced their agreement, letting Lucy know that they were proud of her today. After this Markov stepped inside. Turning his head towards Markov, Dante could tell the old man was barely holding his anger in check as he started to speak.
"I just got done talking with the game committee and they have requested that Fairy Tail combine their teams into one. Since Raven Tail was disqualified, there are an odd number of teams which makes things difficult. Fairy Tail being combined into one team will solve this" stated Markov. Serval guild members groaned at this news as Gray started to speak.
"So, what does this mean for our points then" asked Gray voicing the same question on everyone's mind.
"We will have to take the lowest point total of the two teams, that's just how it is" responded Markov. As serval guild members complained about this saying it was unfair, Dante smiled when he saw the positive side of this.
"Look on the bright side everyone. This way we can form the strongest possible team Fairy Tail can offer" stated Dante with a smile. Markov along with the rest of the guild nodded their heads in agreement.
"Right, you are Dante. The only question now is who will be on the new team" responded Markov.
"I don't think I should be on the new team master; I'm still not fully recovered from my fight with Dante" responded Mira in her signature sweet tone. Dante sighed at this since he wanted Mira on the team but supposed it could not be helped. While Mira could match him in strength, he was more durable or maybe just more stubborn than her.
"That leaves three S-class wizards that are more than ready to give out some payback" stated Dante with a smile as Laxus and Erza nodded their heads.
"Yes, you three are a given, the question is who is left" responded Markov.
"Put the two dragon slayers on the team master. We should have them to match the two dragon slayers that Saber Tooth has" responded Dante with a smile. Natsu and Gajeel both smiled at these words, eager to show those two Saber Tooth dragon slayers the difference in their strength. Nodding his head, Markov started to speak.
"Then our team is decided" responded Markov as the rest of the guild smiled with confidence. Soon Dante was standing in the tunnel along with the rest of team Fairy Tail. Walking out into the arena, Dante stood tall along with the rest of the team as the announcer shouted over the speaker system.
"Coming out into the arena is the new Fairy Tail team" yelled the announcer as the crowd cheered for Dante's team. Dante smiled as he stood in the arena while thousands cheered. He thought their chances of winning the games were great, the team consisted of some of the best wizards Fairy Tail had.
Soon after this Dante along with the rest of the team watched from their assigned watching area as the matches started to get underway. The first match was between Quatro Puppy versus Blue Pegasus. The match was almost comical as Bacchus thrashed Ichiya and the mystery member in the bunny suit. When Ichiya told the bunny suit member to reveal himself, everyone watched with baited breath to see what the supposed secret weapon was.
The secret weapon of Blue Pegasus turned out to be Nichiya, the Edolas version of Ichiya. Comically Nichiya had no combat power at all and was easily knocked out. Just as it seemed it would be a win for Quatro Puppy, Ichiya powered up and defeated Bacchus and Rocker. Dante clapped along with the rest of his team; he was impressed with Ichiya. Ichiya may be absurd, but Dante could not underestimate him with how strong he was.
The next match was between Lamia Scale and Mermaid Heel. This match was a closer fight as Lyon and Yuka fought against Kagura and Millianna. Lyon and Kagura quickly established themselves as the heavy hitters as they started to fight against each other. As the fight dragged on it was clear that Kagura was overpowering Lyon but the time limit ran out and saved Lyon from losing. While Dante was clapping for the tied match, he had to remember that Kagura would be a tough person to beat. Looking at Kagura as she walked away, Dante could not help but think that he should work to add Kagura to his harem.
The last battle of the day was Fairy Tail between Saber Tooth. It was a battle between dragon slayers as Natsu and Gajeel fought against Sting and Rouge. Dante could feel the excitement from the crowd as the four dragon slayers walked into the arena. It was obvious that this was the fight everyone was looking forward to the most. As the fight started, Dante observed the powers of Sting and Rouge.
"Damn so Sting is a light dragon slayer? It's a good thing its Natsu and Gajeel fighting him and not me. I'd be useless against him" stated Dante as he continued to watch the exciting fight. Dante made a note to avoid Sting during the final fight on the fifth day. Since Sting was a light dragon slayer, it meant all of Dante's holy attacks would be completely useless against him.
The fight continued to rage on, increasing in ferocity as the fight dragged on. Each time Sting and Rouge seemed to get the upper hand, Natsu and Gajeel answered with even more power of their own. Halfway thought the fight, Natsu pushed Gajeel down a mine cart. Dante hoped for Natsu's sake that he could still win after pulling such a stunt or else Erza wouldn't be kind. Despite Sting and Rouge both using the full power of their dragon force, Natsu was able to overpower them. Stunning everyone including Saber Tooth, Natsu soon stood victorious over a defeated Sting and Rouge.
"Fairy Tail wins the match! Incredible! Natsu has beaten the twin dragon slayers of Saber Tooth" yelled the announcer as the crowd went wild. As Dante cheered along with the rest of Fairy Tail, he wondered how he was going to celebrate another great victory. Thinking about all of his whores, Dante was sure that he would find a fun way to celebrate today's victories.
