Chapter 181: The Wedding
"Morning" stated Dante with a yawn as he stretched his arms while he walked into the small kitchen. Natsu and Happy turned their attention from their breakfast to Dante as he grabbed an apple and sat down at the table.
"Hey Dante, did you sleep well" asked Happy as he continued to nibble on a fish. Dante nodded his head as he started to speak.
"Yah I slept as well as I could on that old couch of yours. Thanks for letting me crash with you guys" responded Dante with a smile. It was Mira's idea that they should sleep apart the night before the wedding. While Dante would have preferred to stay with Juvia or one of his other whores, Mira also insisted that he save himself for her on their weeding night and Dante found it hard to refuse Mira, so he crashed with Natsu and Happy.
"No problem man, you can pay me back later by fighting me" responded Natsu in his typical battle crazy tone. Dante smiled back at Natsu as he finished the apple he was eating. Tossing the apple core into a nearby trash can, Dante then started to speak.
"Sure, but you will have to wait till after the honeymoon" responded Dante in an amused tone. Dante always found it funny and impressive that no matter how much Dante, Erza, Laxus or Gildarts beat Natsu with ease that he always wanted to come back for more. No one could ever say that Natsu wasn't determined.
"Aww man! Come one just one quick fight" asked Natsu in a pleading tone. Knowing how to get Natsu to drop this subject for the moment, Dante smiled at him as he started to speak.
"Sorry Natsu I can't fight you right now. You don't want to get Mira mad that you messed me up on her wedding day do you" asked Dante with a smile. Natsu seemed to halt for a moment as he considered what Mira would do to him if he injured Dante today.
"Oh, yah you're right. I don't want Mira mad at me" responded Natsu as he pictured the she devil hunting him down. Dante and Happy laughed at these words, Mira always seemed to scare Natsu the most. The three of them continued to make small talk for a while before it was time for them to get moving. Standing up Dante started to speak.
"We should get going and meet up with the others at the guild" stated Dante with a smile. Natsu nodded his head as he stood up before he started to speak.
"Okay, let's go" responded Natsu with an eager smile. Dante nodded his head before he turned his attention towards Happy.
"You alight by yourself Happy" asked Dante with a smile. He and Natsu had to get to the guildhall early since they were part of the wedding, Happy would get to the guildhall in a few hours along with the rest of the guild.
"Aye Sir" responded Happy as he continued to nipple on his fish. Dante and Natsu waved goodbye to Happy as they walked out of the small home and headed towards the guildhall. After a short walk Dante and Natsu arrived at the guild hall.
"It's about time you two showed up" stated Laxus as Dante and Natsu walked up to the group standing in front of the guild hall.
"Hey, it's' not my fault Natsu lives so far out of town" responded Dante with a smile. Standing in front of him were the rest of his groomsmen, Laxus, Gray and of course his best man Elfman. Elfman slapped Dante on the shoulder as he started to speak.
"Oh, yah are you ready to become a real man" asked Elfman in an excited tone with a large smile. Dante smiled back at Elfman as he started to speak.
"Of course, I've bene waiting for this day for a long time. Thanks again you guys for being a part of this, it means a lot" responded Dante with a smile.
"No problem man, we're glad to do it" responded Gray with a smile. Shortly after this the group walked into the guild hall. Master Markov was already waiting inside for them, he started to speak to the group as they walked in.
"It's about time you kids showed up. Your suits are laid out for you right here, you can change in the back rooms" stated Markov with a smile as he motioned towards the suits that were dropped off earlier today by the tailor.
"Thanks master" responded Dante as he picked up his suit while the rest of his groomsmen did the same. Dante then walked into one of the back rooms and started to change into his suit. Soon Dante was smiling into a mirror as he admired how he looked. While Dante normally didn't like dressing up he had to admit he looked good in his tailored black suit. Satisfied with how he looked, Dante stepped out of the backroom and headed back towards the guildhall.
"Looking sharp man" stated Gray with a smile. It seemed that everyone else had already finished dressing since Dante was the last one to step back into the main area of the guild hall.
"Thanks, but Gray your clothes" responded Dante in a tired tone as Gray had already removed his shirt without thinking about it.
"Awww crap when did that happen" responded Gray as he quickly put his shirt back on. Smiling back at Gray, Dante started to speak.
"You better make sure you don't do that during the ceremony or Mira is going to kill you" responded Dante in a joking tone. While Dante was only joking around, Gray visibly shook in fear at his words. It seemed that Natsu wasn't the only one that feared the she devil.
"That's enough of that, there still is much to be done to prepare" stated Markov, making everyone turn his attention towards him. Nodding their heads, Dante and the others went about the last minute preparations that still needed to be done. Luckily with everyone's help the preparations were soon finished and the guild was decorated just like Mira wanted for the wedding.
"That was the last of it, now you all need to wait for everyone to arrive. It shouldn't be too much longer. I have to go to my office to prepare myself" stated Markov with a smile as he walked into his office to prepare his speech since he was officiating the wedding. Dante and other others walked into a back room and started to wait for everyone to arrive at the guild hall.
"How much longer do we have to wait? Waiting sucks" stated Natsu in an annoyed tone. Gray gave Natsu an angry look as he started to speak.
"It's only been a few minutes flame brain, calm down. You don't see Dante acting all anxious do you" asked Gray in an annoyed tone. Natsu turned his attention towards Gray with an angry look as he started to speak.
"Who you calling flame brain" asked Natsu in a battle ready tone. Just as Gray was about to retort, Dante started to speak.
"Cut it out you two, or do you want to make me angry" stated Dante in a cold tone. Natsu and Gray stopped dead in their tracks as Dante's tone before the turned their attention towards Dante.
"Don't worry Dante, we were just kidding" responded Natsu with a fake smile as he and Gray pretended to be friendly with each other. Dante and the others couldn't help but smile in response to Natsu and Gray. They would always fight with each other but the instant one of the S-class wizards told them to cut it out they would stop out of fear. The group made small talk in order to help pass the time until a knock was heard at the closed door before Happy floated inside the room.
"I was told to let you guys know everyone is here and ready to get things started" stated Happy with a smile. Smiling back at Happy, Dante started to speak.
"Thanks Happy, we'll be out soon" responded Dante with a wide smile. Happy nodded his head before he floated back out of the room. Dante took a deep breath in order to steady his nerves as Laxus patted him on the shoulder.
"You ready" asked Laxus with a smile. Nodding his head, Dante started to speak.
"Hell, yah I'm ready, let's do this" responded Dante with an excited tone. Together Dante and his groomsmen walked out of the back room and towards the main area of the guildhall.
When Dante stepped out into the main area of the guild hall, he watched as the crowd turned to look at him and his groomsmen as they took their positions. Standing in front of the guild hall, in front of the large, seated crowd Dante smiled warmly at everyone that had joined him for this special day. Dante waited patiently along with everyone else, waiting for Mira to make her appearance. Soon Mira's bridesmaids stepped into position, opposite Dante's groomsmen. Finally, the moment had arrived as everyone stood up to look at Mira as she walked down the aisle.
Dante stared wide eyed at Mira as she walked down the aisle. Time seemed to crawl to a halt for Dante as the world faded until he could only see Mira. Mira was wearing a slender wedding dress; she was almost glowing with radiance as she smiled back at Dante. He was sure that he was staring for too long, but Dante couldn't find it in him to care, he was struck speechless. It didn't even register to Dante how much time passed, how long he was staring open mouthed at Mira in awe of her beauty and radiance. Suddenly Dante was jarred back to full awareness when he felt a hard slap on the back of his head before he registered Laxus speaking to him.
"Geez pay attention will yah" asked Laxus in an amused tone. Dante was still struck dumb at the sight of Mira, not aware that he had just spent the last few minutes staring dumbly at Mira. He wasn't aware that everyone was waiting for his answer.
"W-what" asked Dante in a dumb tone that made Mira laugh sweetly at him. Serval member of the large crowd sitting and watching the ceremony also laughed at Dante's expense, he could feel the tips of his ears turn pink in embarrassment as Markov started to speak.
"I asked you Dante if you take Mira to be your lawful wedded bride" asked Markov with a smile. Dante felt a blush creep on his face, he was so busy staring wide eyed at Mira that he completely missed Markov asking him the first time. Looking into Mira's eyes he could see the tears of joy threating to spill out of her eyes. At least Mira thought his inability to pay attention to Markov was endearing. Smiling lovingly at Mira, Dante started to speak.
"I do" responded Dante with a loving smile, never once taking his eyes away from Mira's.
"And do you Mira take Dante to be your lawful wedded husband" asked Markov in a happy tone. At this point Mira could no longer contain the tears running down her face, crying tears of joy as she started to speak.
"I do" responded Mira in a happy tone as she continued to cry tears of joy. Dante's heart swelled at Mira's words as Markov started to speak.
"Then by the power vested in me as the third and sixth master of Fairy Tail, I declare you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride" stated Markov with a wide smile, overjoyed that his children could find such happiness with each other.
Dante smiled from ear to ear as he removed Mira's veil before he leaned forward and captured her lips in a passionate and heated kiss. Mira wrapped her arms around Dante's neck as the kiss became even more heated and passionate. Loud clapping and applause was heard throughout the guild hall as the crowd shared Dante's and Mira's happiness. Deepening the kiss, Dante leaned forward which caused Mira to bend slightly as they continued to pour all of their love for each other through the heated lip lock. Much too soon for the both of them Dante and Mira needed to lean away from each other in order to breathe. Dante smiled at Mira before they turned their attention towards the cheering crowd. Taking Mira's hand in his own, Dante started to speak to the crowd.
"Well, what are you waiting for?! Let's celebrate the only way Fairy Tail knows how" yelled Dante in a happy tone. The crowd erupted into even greater cheers at Dante's words and soon the guild was alive with merriment. Dante and Mira smiled at everyone having fun dancing, eating and drinking from their seats at the main wedding table.
"Don't stop partying until you drop! That's an order from the guild master" yelled Markov in a happy tone, clearly already drunk as he took another long swig of his drink.
Dante and Mira laughed at Markov's words as the party got even crazier. Unspring to anyone, the party soon turned into an all out brawl. A combination of Natsu and Gray fighting each other and somebody knocking over Erza's cake caused the entire guild to erupt into a brawl. It seems that even at a wedding celebration, Fairy Tail would still be Fairy Tail. Mira smiled as she turned her attention towards her big brother and now husband before she started to speak.
"Hehe do you want to participate in the fight Dante" asked Mira with a sweet smile. Dante smiled back at Mira as he started to speak.
"Yah I do but I don't want to ruin our day" responded Dante with a smile. Mira laughed lightly to herself before she started to speak.
"Don't be silly, I didn't picture it any other way" responded Mira in a sweet tone. Dante smiled lovingly at Mira before he leaned forward and placed a hungry kiss on her lips. After a short while Dante leaned back from Mira's sweet lips in order to speak.
"You're the best Mira. I'm so happy to be married to you" responded Dante in a happy tone before he turned his attention to the ongoing brawl. Unfastening his tie, Dante smiled as he jumped into the fight. It didn't take long for Dante to find Laxus in the middle of the fight, he sent a strong punch into Laxus's jaw which sent him tumbling back a bit.
"Come on Laxus, let's go just like the good old days" stated Dante in an excited tone, sounding way too much like Natsu. Laxus smiled back at Dante as they remembered the days before he rebelled against the guild. The simpler days when they would fight all the time as rivals. The crowd around them took a few steps back as Laxus let lose a bit of his lighting magic as he started to speak.
"You're on, but don't think I'll go easy on you just because it's your wedding day" responded Laxus, his fist crackling with lighting. Dante smiled back at Laxus as he transformed into his Angel Soul Gabriel form.
"I wouldn't want it any other way" responded Dante in an excited tone. The last thing Dante and Laxus heard as they charged at one another was the frantic shouting of Markov.
"Wait stop! You're going to destroy the guild hall" yelled Markov in a panicked tone as Dante and Laxus crashed their fist together, their immense magical power creating shockwaves. The guild laughed at Markov's words as the party and brawl continued long into the night.
