Doom Patrol
At Gotham City, Batman and Robin were patrolling the city during the night, watching the streets and the buildings. After the news from Japan, Endeavor's reputation has gone from bad to worse because of the confession from Kenji, the incident of him turning into Mr. Freeze, the illness of Io, and the abuse of Enji's family. Of course, Enji became furious about it since his reputation as a Pro Hero is getting much worse, and both Shoto and Toya was in the interview from the media. Fuyumi and Natsuo played Kenji a visit at Tartarus just to patch things up, but they usually gave him sympathy of what happened to his wife and why he tried to make a cure for her, which Daito and Alex are doing everything they can to develop a cure while learning of his research. The civilians are now on strike in between the Endeavor Agency and the HPSC, who are trying to deal the situation and leaving them a few comments.
The news kept going all over and the media of Kenji's confession went viral.
"Everything is quiet in this street." Robin said.
"Nothing is quiet when criminals are around." Batman points out. "Especially the Legion of Doom."
"Do you think we get to fight them? Robin asks, turns to him.
"Hopefully not, but it's not like we have a choice." Batman answered.
Robin turns to the streets, watching the people entered inside of the Iceberg Lounge, maybe having fun or a date. She turns to him and spoke.
"Hey, Batman, don't you ever wish you were down there?" Robin asks.
"I'm down there all I need to be." Batman answered.
"Yes, but it's mostly a job. I'm talking about going down there and have some fun." Robin told him. "Don't you and Lita ever do that?"
Batman then turns to Robin with a glare.
"Mostly, but only whenever we get some time off and not too busy patrolling." Batman said. "But when it comes to missions the Justice League have instore for us, we have to be ready."
Then, the sound of the alarm went off as Batman and Robin turns, noticing a robber at the back of the Iceberg Lounge.
"There!" Batman shouts as he and Robin fires their batclaws, launching themselves.
The robber tries to pry the door open when the batarangs hit the alarm, shutting off as Batman and Robin lands on the ground.
"A robber, what happen to the criminals we need to face?" Robin asks.
"Probably a bad tip, it happens." Batman states, extends his hand. "I'll take the crowbar."
"Whatever you say." The robber said with a smirk, throws the crowbar when it turns into a snake, causing Batman to quickly dodge. "That trick always win over big in Egypt."
And soon, the robber uses magic to turn into a Goddess named...Circe.
"Circe?!" Robin exclaims in shock.
Batman was aware because of the Book of Odyssey, knew of Circe's magic as he throws the batarangs at her which she uses her magic to turn them into doves.
"Is that it for you?" Circe mocks.
"Why are you here?" Robin asks with a glare. "We thought you're dead during the fight!"
"It takes more than those League and the Legion to kill me, I'm a Goddess. And the Underworld needed more space, so they paroled me." Circe explains. "Of course, I made a promise to leave Diana's mommy alone before they let me out."
"Her mom?" Robin repeats.
"Queen Hippolyta, the Queen of Amazons in Themyscira." Batman told her, then glances back at Circe. "She banished her to the pits of Tartarus because of her habit of turning people into animals."
"I'm really good at it too." Circe said.
"So, I've read, let's not give her another chance!" Batman ordered as he and Robin charges after her.
Circe waves her hand, uses magic to push Batman and Robin right at the wall, knocking them down to the ground. Circe then binds them as she walks to them.
"I've promised to leave her mother alone, but nobody said anything about the both of you." Circe said with a sinister smirk. "After I'm done with you, you two won't be recognized and your team won't want you for anything."
But before Circe gets a chance of turning them into animals, lightning strikes her as she screams in pain. Wonder Woman and Shazam (William) flew down to the ground, glaring at the Goddess.
"I don't think so, Circe." Wonder Woman said as Shazam (William) frees Batman and Robin.
"You two alright?" Shazam (William) asks.
"Thanks to you both." Batman replied.
"Diana, I thought you're dead after the fight!" Circe exclaims in shock.
"So, I'm told, but since I'm back by the Lazarus Pit, guess I still have unfinished business." Wonder Woman remarked, pulling out her sword. "Starting with you."
"Another time, I've got a show to run." Circe said as she uses her magic and vanished.
Wonder Woman can only scowl at the Goddess, but turns back to the team.
"You're lucky we were able to stop her, before she turns you both into animals." Wonder Woman berates them. "And if that happens, we find her and force her to turn the both of you back into humans."
"But you know she won't go down that easy." Batman points out as the Amazon sighed.
"I know." Wonder Woman said as the alarm of the communicators are on, answering the call.
"You are needed in the Watchtower, we have a mission." Martian Manhunter said, ending transmission.
They then glance each other, wondering what kind of mission are they having.
Once Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, and Shazam (William) arrived at the Watchtower, they make their way toward the meeting room where the League are waiting for their arrival.
"Heard you've got a nasty encounter with Circe." Red Hood said.
"Yeah, she's a real slippery one." Robin replied. "With a bad habit of turning people into animals."
"Which is why we call for backup after realizing what you're dealing with." Superman (Clark) points out. "But that's not why we called you here."
Daito then uses the device to show the holographic images of the members of the Doom Patrol: Mento, Negative Man, Robot Man, Crazy Jane, and Elasti-Woman.
Mento is a lean muscular young man with short brown hair and blue eyes. He wears a Doom Patrol attire that has a lightning bolt at the center of his chest, and a Psychic Amplifier on his head.
Negative Man is a lean young man with bandages wrapped around to cover his face, head, and hands. He also wore a Doom Patrol attire with sunglasses on his eyes.
Crazy Jane is a young woman with medium black hair and blue eyes. She also wore a Doom Patrol attire that resembles a gothic appearance, black and white long socks, black shoes, and face mask.
Elasti-Woman is a slender young woman with long wavy hair that reaches down to her shoulder blades and green eyes. She also wore a Doom Patrol attire that specializes of her abilities that can alter her size and stretches her limbs.
"These group of heroes are the Doom Patrol, a group of outcasts with powers that caused them alienation and trauma. They dedicated their lives to protecting a society that will not accept them and rejects them outright." Daito explains, then shows the founder of the Doom Patrol, Niles Caulder. "A scientist and founder of the Doom Patrol named Niles Caulder, who's known as the Chief, is possibly responsible for the accidents that gave them powers."
Mr. Terrific then shows the images of the current members of the Doom Patrol, starting with Mento.
"The first one is Johnny Dayton, son of Steven Dayton. His codename is Mento, but like his old man, he inherited the same power to read minds." Mr. Terrific said, then shows the image of Elasti-Woman. "Then, the second is Jasmine Farr, daughter of Rita Farr. Her codename is Elasti-Woman and had the same power as her mother."
Then, he shows the image of Negative Man.
"Marcus Trainor, son of Lawrence Trainor. His codename is Negative Man, connected to the Negative Spirit and does the same power as his old man." Mr. Terrific continued, then showed the final image of Crazy Jane. "And lastly, this is Lyla Challis, daughter of Kay Challis. Her codename is Crazy Jane, but to give y'all a heads up, she's a new host of Crazy Jane."
Robin can only respond with a sweat drop.
"If I have to guess, she had multiple personalities." Batman guessed. "I've been gathering information about her backgrounds, she was born with Multiple Personality Disorder."
"Right, but it's not just any mental disorder, her personalities also had different powers." Mr. Terrific nods, turning off the images of the Doom Patrol. "But their last location is at the Amazon Jungle in South America."
"What could they be doing over there?" Batgirl asks.
"We're not entirely sure, but this is something you need to see." Superman (Clark) said as he glances at Daito and Mr. Terrific.
Daito and Mr. Terrific nods, showing the video that's played in the Amazon Jungle. The Doom Patrol was last seen flying inside of the Doom Patrol plane, being shot and came crashing down into the Amazon Jungle. The Doom Patrol were ambushed by a group of criminals, which they're trying to fend them off while tried to flee, but was captured and dragged off somewhere in the jungle. The video ends which the League narrowed their eyes, mostly Nightwing since he had the encounter with them before along with the members of Teen Titans.
"This happened 5 months ago and for all we know, someone wanted the Doom Patrol." Daito said.
"Do you know who?" Batman questions.
"It's possible that it's the Brotherhood of Evil, they're the arch-nemesis of the Doom Patrol." Daito guessed.
"I'll gather my team and head out for the Amazon Jungle." Nightwing suggests.
"Whoa, hold on a second! Going in there is a suicide!" Red Robin protests. "And why your team?"
"Beast Boy was raised by them, and he's part of the team before the new generations of Doom Patrol ever came along." Nightwing told him seriously. "The Doom Patrol joined us to fight against the Legion of Doom, but only Cliff and the other members you saw before survived."
"Until the new generations came along and learn from us of how to be a hero, by turning the Watchtower and the Titans Tower into an academy." Nezu adds.
"Right, but your students are making some progress on teamwork, tactics, and some basic combat. But this Bakugo and Monoma aren't making any effort at all." Green Lantern (John Stewart) points out.
"Maybe it's because their pride is crushed more than once and they still refuse to learn something new." Aizawa states. "Ethan and Eri, I get them because he beat Bakugo in combat and tactics, but Eri? Well, let's just say she scrambled his eggs."
It got them snickered a bit which it makes sense since she did give him a nutshot.
"I don't think she's the only one, Harley did the same with Bakugo, nutshot with a baseball bat." Batman said as Flash burst with a laugh along with Red Hood, Toshinori, Dabi, and Nightwing.
"Wish I'd see that, cause that would be hilarious." Red Hood said with a snicker.
"That aside, we should operate a search and rescue in order to get the Doom Patrol to safety, in order to learn about the Brotherhood of Evil." Nezu suggests, regained his composure.
"And you side you're gathering your team?" Superman (Clark) questions, turning to Nightwing.
"Yeah, only Cyborg, Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy." Nightwing replied, crossed his arms.
"That's fine, but don't you think you'll be needing some support from us? Like us adding the team of our own?" Nikita asks, making a valid point.
Nightwing sighed, knows that the new Director of A.R.G.U.S. is right since the Brotherhood of Evil might know that the members of Teen Titans would come for them. But with options limited, he had no other choice but to comply.
"What do you have in mind?" Nightwing inquires.
"I only have one agent who can help you with the search and rescue, Deadshot." Nikita told him. "The rest of my team are mostly in Afghanistan to help hunt down Taliban and ISIS while some are in Syria doing the same."
"Okay, but we have someone else we've had in mind as well." Green Lantern (John Stewart) said, showing the image of Tigress. "This is Kairi Nguyen, also known as Tigress. Born in Vietnam, and daughter of Jade Nguyen who's known as Cheshire. She was trained, survive, and grew up in the jungle territory and taken down criminals with everything she learned. But despite that, Kairi left Vietnam because she and her mom didn't get along very well and things got pretty bad for them. The League of Assassins trained her to extend further of her training and taking up the name as Tigress."
"But what about Wild Dog? Can't he help out?" Catwoman suggests.
"He had a mission in Nigeria, he, Ghost Maker, and Spartan are helping the Nigerian soldiers and US Navy taking down terrorist and helping the refugees head for the border." Martian Manhunter explains. "But we also have someone in mind as well, B'wana Beast."
And with that, they called out three heroes to the Watchtower along with the Teen Titans members. Tigress, Deadshot, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy arrived along with the new B'wana Beast.
Tigress is a Vietnamese young woman with wavy black hair that reaches down to her shoulders and green eyes. She wore an outfit that was Kelvar suit with the colors of burnt orange and black, with a hard orange mask that covers her forehead, nose, and cheeks, resembling a stylized tiger's face. She also carries a black sheath behind her back which stores her sword along with her bow and quiver filled with arrows, a black belt that stores her weapons, and a collapsible staff that was stored on her forearm.
B'wana Beast is a towering muscular man with short brown hair and blue eyes. He wears a cheetah pattern spandex with red and white-striped loincloth, red boots with cheetah fur lines, and a crimson helmet with cheetah face pattern.
Deadshot had a new appearance that had a red and black bodysuit and red armored shoulder pads with multiple holsters for his firearms, bulletproof armor, a new white mask with a high-tech eye on the right side of his eyes, and a new wrist magnums.
"Heard you guys got a mission for us, what's the info?" Deadshot asks, then turns to Batman. "Wayne."
"Lawton." Batman greets back with respect.
"And how come we get to team with 'Tarzan' over here?" Tigress asks, points at B'wana Beast.
"Ooh, she's got the fire of a cheetah in her." B'wana Beast said as he mimics a purr, then smirks at her while Aizawa, Kan, and Toshinori snickered a bit.
"Why is he here?" Tigress asks in annoyance.
"Besides merging animals into a Chimera, he specializes in communicating animals and tracking because of his hunting background." Nikita explains. "And he's our asset for the search and rescue mission in the Amazon Jungle to find the Doom Patrol."
"Right on." B'wana Beast said with a thumbs up. "When do we start?"
"First thing tomorrow, get your team ready to the Javelin and we'll give you the details." Hawkgirl answered.
"Let me get my weapons, and we'll be in for tomorrow." Deadshot said.
"Um, a little moment of your time before you leave." Nezu said, earned their attention. "I think it's best I add Tsuyu Asui and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu to the team. The reason is because it'll give them the first field experience and learn how to work together."
"Uh, no offense, but we don't babysit your students when we're on missions." Deadshot points out. "And they're still a bit green when it comes to this."
"True, but they've been on multiple incidents in Japan and worse, which is why I ask of you to take them with you during your missions." Nezu told him. "Shoto went with Dabi in Japan to take care of his cousin which it causes Endeavor to lose his reputation even more after learning of Kenji's confession."
"Speaking of which, we manage to get some information about Io's illness and check this." Mr. Terrific said, showing the image of the flowers. "These plants are magenta flower, a flower that was used for curing the illness. But there's a catch, Io's blood type is rare and we need the same blood in order to make the cure and a blood transfusion."
"But only one who plant those flowers was Poison Ivy, and she's up in prison." Batman states.
"Yeah, but she had those in her apartment." Mr. Terrific remarked. "But...I don't think you're gonna like it of what we're planning."
Batman responds with a brooding glare, knowing that there's only one option and he won't like it because Poison Ivy is the only one who had a background in Botany and a license for the PhD in Gotham University.
At the Tartarus Prison, Nikita Waller is walking towards the prison room to find Pamela Isley since she's the one with the flowers in her apartment that can prove use for the cure of Io's illness. However, neither of the Justice League or the Teen Titans like about having Poison Ivy helping, but with the botanical expertise and the plants, they don't have much of a choice. Nikita is inside of the interrogation room, waiting as Poison Ivy went inside and then sat on a chair.
Though, Poison Ivy has a new look because her skin was green along with a matching lip.
"I heard you got something for me." Poison Ivy said with a smirk as Nikita tosses a file to her, looking through the information.
"We know you have a plant inside of your apartment in Gotham City." Nikita told her with a scowl. "And...we need your help on making the cure for Kenji's wife."
Poison Ivy goes through the medical records from the file, seeing Io's diagnosis of terminal illness, which is the same illness that Victor's wife, Nora, had and remembered the incident of the loss of her and him turning into Mr. Freeze. She also remembered the similar incident happen to Kenji turning into Mr. Freeze and his wife in a cryogenic pod to prevent the illness to spread any further.
"What's in it for me?" Poison Ivy inquires, earned her attention. "You know, I don't do it for free. And learning about his story, I know a plant that I can use. But it comes a price."
Nikita raised her eyebrow, seeing that Poison Ivy want something which basically, she won't accept that easily.
"And you think I'm letting off that easy? After what you did in Gotham City and in Japan?" Nikita asks with a glare.
"And you want her dead?" Poison Ivy counters. "I only agree to help, but I'm the only one that can make the cure. Trust me, the magenta flower is the only flower you need."
"We are aware, but that don't mean we're letting you off." Nikita retorted. "With many crimes you've committed, did you really think I'm making deals with criminals?!"
"And with those plants you've murdered! You people aren't any better!" Poison Ivy retorted back.
"Says a plant-crazed bitch who turned civilians into slaves!" Nikita said, making Poison Ivy snarl angrily.
"Director Waller, please refrain!"
With a warning from the law enforcer, Nikita regains her composure with a sigh while glancing back at Poison Ivy. The argument between them didn't get anywhere and Nikita made a valid point about Poison Ivy's previous crimes back in Gotham City, including the time in Japan.
"Isley, while I don't agree on letting you help on making a cure or letting you out in order to get the plant from your apartment, but we have no other choice." Nikita said with a sigh. "Pamela Isley, I'm asking you, are you going to make the cure for Kenji's wife or not?"
Poison Ivy then regained her composure with a sigh, glances at Nikita, who gives her a very serious look on her face. She can tell that the Director of A.R.G.U.S. is nothing like her mother at all and she doesn't make deals with criminals. Without getting her persuaded that easily, Poison Ivy can only give her an answer.
"Fine, but what I want in exchange." Poison Ivy said when Nikita was about to argue, but stops her by raising her hand. "I like to train the student named Ibara for her nature powers."
"And why should I accept that?" Nikita inquires suspiciously.
"It's not like you have a choice, and it's a suggestion." Poison Ivy said with a smirk. "And it's like I said, I don't do it for free. I'll make the cure for his wife, but I want to help Ibara unleash her full potential."
Nikita can tell that she's serious about the exchange by training Ibara, which again, she doesn't make deals with criminals. But with time against her, she has no other options.
"Fine." Nikita said in reluctance. "By tomorrow, we'll get the magenta flower for your cure. And we'll see if we get you to train Ibara."
With Poison Ivy smirk in satisfaction, the law enforcers takes her away while Nikita left the interrogation room to inform the Justice League.
The next day, the Justice League and the Teen Titans are flying toward the Amazon Jungle with their respective flight vehicles. Tigress, B'wana Beast, Deadshot, Tsuyu, and Tetsutetsu were informed of the Doom Patrol held captured in the Amazon Jungle by the Brotherhood of Evil or worse, the Legion of Doom. Poison Ivy is currently in Gotham City to pick up the flower while Nikita, Sunstorm, and Black Canary kept a close eye on her in case she tries anything funny since she kept the deal while help make the cure. Now, the Justice League and Teen Titans are searching for them in the sky at the jungle.
"What could've happened to them?" Tigress asks.
"The Brother of Evil is all we know from the League. Years ago, we stop the black hole device and they went underground. They joined up with the Legion of Doom and we fought them, but we lost too many of our friends. So, we came up with the suggestion by making a cryostasis pods and froze ourselves." Beast Boy explains.
"We've been in frozen state for decades, hoping we can get the future generation of heroes to carry out our legacy and teach them how to use their powers and all that." Cyborg adds when he got beeping sound. "Heads up, I'm picking something up."
Then, they descend down into the ground as they land. Disembark, the Titans, Tigress, Deadshot, B'wana Beast, Tsuyu, and Tetsutetsu got out of the air vehicles, searching through the jungle, cutting the bushes when they saw something with a gasp in shock.
"Beast Boy, is this-"
"The Doom Patrol ship." Beast Boy cuts her off, looking at the crash site of the Doom Patrol ship. "What was left of it, and from the looks of it, I'd say a new members were there. This happened before."
"How?" Tsuyu asks, confused.
"The previous Doom Patrol is being captured here, the same location the Brotherhood of Evil used." Beast Boy told her. "And like I said, this happened before."
"You should try and pay attention more often when the League give us the info." Deadshot points out, holding his Customized AR-15. "The Doom Patrol are legend before your time."
Tsuyu and Tetsutetsu felt offended of his words which was a valid point, but decided not to argue as Cyborg uses his life-waves from his forearm to check if the Doom Patrol is inside of the crash.
"Well nobodies home." Cyborg said.
"Then, we start looking." Nightwing suggested.
"No need, I picked up their tracks." B'wana Beast said, checking at the tracks on the ground. "This way."
B'wana Beast then went ahead of them inside of the jungle.
"You heard the man, but keep your guard up. There are dangers in the jungle." Deadshot warned the two, readied his gun.
"And don't let the gorillas or Tarzan get you." Tigress adds with a teasing smirk, readied her bow and arrow which causes Tetsutetsu to growl.
"THAT'S NOT FUNNY YOU JERK!?" Tetsutetsu snapped as he and Tsuyu followed them.
While they continued to tread towards the jungle, with Deadshot and Tigress readying their weapons in case enemies or dangerous predators are coming, both Tsuyu and Tetsutetsu are beginning to wonder why they haven't heard of the Doom Patrol.
"Um, how come we haven't heard about them?" Tsuyu asks. "I mean, we've heard about the Justice League and Teen Titans, but we never heard about the Doom Patrol, ribbit."
"I've been thinking the same thing." Tetsutetsu adds.
"Well, the Doom Patrol are legends, they've got reputation as heroes." Cyborg told them. "But to give you a heads up, they're a group of outcasts with powers that cause them trauma. Despite being discriminated, they dedicated their lives to protect the people and the world."
"Whoa, that's manly of them despite having hard times!" Tetsutetsu exclaims.
"Just because they survive on missions, doesn't mean they live to talk about it." Tigress remarked seriously. "Another lesson needs to be learned: Real heroes don't brag about it. Though, one who does that."
"Flash?" Tsuyu and Tetsutetsu guesses in deadpan look.
"Flash." Teen Titans, Deadshot, Tigress, and B'wana Beast replied.
"But seriously, Garfield was once a Doom Patrol member, he didn't talk about it." Cyborg points out.
"That's because of Mento being harsh and always berate me during missions, so I left and became a member of the Titans." Beast Boy said with a glare. "You're moving too slow!"
Beast Boy then turns himself into a peregrine falcon and flies away while B'wana Beast follows him.
"Geez, what's got into him?" Tetsutetsu asks, annoyed.
"He's just worried, but you two gotta remember, the Doom Patrol raised him. They're like his family." Nightwing points out.
"Guys, get over here!" The voice of B'wana Beast called them as they rush to his direction and noticed Robot Man been tangled by vines.
"No, Cliff! Come on, wake up!" Beast Boy shouts, shaking the metallic leg as he turns to Cyborg. "Cyborg, you have to fix him!"
"I'll do everything I can." Cyborg replied, turns to Tigress. "Tigress, I need you to cut down those vines so BB and I can grab him."
Tigress replied with a nod, puts her bow and arrow away as she draws out her sword, slicing the vines when Cyborg and Beast Boy grabs him, placing him down to the ground. Cyborg turns his index fingers into a welding torch to fix Robot Man which causes the harness to open, then continued to fix him.
"I'm picking up brainwaves." Cyborg informed them, looking at the monitor from his forearm. "He's alive in there."
"His head, maybe?" Deadshot guesses as Cyborg nods.
"What do you mean by brainwaves?" Tsuyu asks.
"The only part of him that's actually alive, the rest is just machine. And a lot of ways, he's a prototype of me." Cyborg explains. "Cross your fingers."
Soon as Cyborg presses the button from the center of his chest, the device shuts itself closed and Robot Man was activated.
"MENTO! I'm on my way!" Robot Man shouts as he ran past them and through the jungle.
"Robot Man! Stop!" Beast Boy called out.
While Teen Titans, Tigress, B'wana Beast, Deadshot, Tsuyu, and Tetsutetsu tried to catch up, Robot Man kept on running while destroying the trees. But unknown to him, Robot Man set off the trigger arm and the sentry guns firing the blasters at him, which it didn't even affect him and the metallic body reflects right back at them, destroys them in the process. Robot Man kept on running as he leaps in the air and smashes the sentry gun, then bashes the other as the smoke covered him. Robot Man leaps in midair, delivering a headbutt to the final gun and destroys the metal door to find is team.
"Mento! Elasti-Woman! Negative Man! Crazy Jane!" Robot Man called them, then searches when they finally catch up.
"Dude, what happen?" Tetsutetsu asks.
"An ambush came out of nowhere!" Robot Man answered quickly. "They can't have gone far!"
"Robot Man!" Deadshot called him, earned his attention. "Cyborg had to reset your internal chronometer when he prepared you. You've been offline for 5 months."
It got Robot Man shocked when Deadshot told him about it.
"5 MONTHS!?" Robot Man yelled, punches the wall. "I'VE BEEN SHUTDOWN FOR 5 MONTHS?! WHY'D THEY HAVE TO BUILD ME WITH AN OFF-SWITCH WHEN I PROMISED TO HELP THEIR KIDS?!"
"Don't be so hard on yourself. By the look of things, you really took a pounding." Cyborg points out as Robot Man approaches them.
"We should've been able to handle it, we always do! I was the one who trained those kids, all on my own!" Robot Man retorted. "This is your new group of heroes, they're just a bunch of kids."
"Well fuck you, too, 'Tinman'." Tigress remarked rudely as Deadshot flips him off which Robot Man didn't like that reaction.
"They may be new, but they can help out." Nightwing told him. "But just to let you know, they've done some missions."
"Sorry, Nightwing, they got us good." Robot Man said. "We thought we had him."
"It's not too late, Cliff. We can still find him." Beast Boy told him.
"You better believe it we will." Robot Man agrees. "I'm gonna find those kids and squash the Brain if it's the last thing I do."
Then, a loud rumbling sound is heard as they turned to see the trees were destroyed.
"Take cover!" Nightwing ordered when Deadshot and Tigress readied their weapons. "We don't know what we're up against!"
"Uh, you might wanna tell that to him." Tsuyu said, points at Robot Man running towards that direction.
"No way I'm letting him get all the action!?" Tetsutetsu snarls, hardens himself into steel as he follows him.
"Titans, go!" Nightwing said as they ran after them.
Then, the machine starts cutting the tree with a buzzsaw and tosses it right at carrier machine when both Robot Man and Tetsutetsu rushes after it, leaps in midair as they grab hold of its claws. The machine tries to toss them away, which the armor was pierced by a sniper and the arrow shot inside of the hole, shocking it and discharging it as Robot Man and Tetsutetsu pulls the top of the machine, went inside and destroyed it in the process. Both Robot Man and Tetsutetsu revealed themselves from the smoke.
"Not bad, guess I should train you next." Robot Man said with a smirk as Tetsutetsu turns back to normal.
"What the hell was that?!" Nightwing shouts, earned their attention. "That was reckless for pulling that stunt, Tetsutetsu!"
"Hey, I helped!" Tetsutetsu argued.
"No, you didn't!" Tigress argued back. "Because we have the right gadgets to take that robot down before you two are walking yourselves in the meat grinder."
"Not to mention you didn't follow a single order!" Deadshot adds. "This is exactly why we don't babysit! Honestly, I've had half of mind on putting a bullet right in your ass!"
Tetsutetsu couldn't help but flinch at that.
"And you need to remember, we're never going to find them unless we work together." Nightwing points out, crossed his arms. "Attacking everything moves isn't going to help."
"If he builds it, I'm gonna break it. That's how the Doom Patrol works, just like old times." Robot Man told him.
'I'm starting to like the Doom Patrol.' Tetsutetsu mentally thought with an impressed smirk.
"Sorry we're late." The voice of Spartan said when he, Ghost Maker, and Wild Dog walked out of the jungle and approaches them. "We got word that y'all need some help."
Spartan is an African-American with muscular appearance, military shaved black hair, and brown eyes. He wore a black and red leather suit with Kevlar fabric, black helmet with a visor, gun holsters, black combat boots, and black leather gloves. He carries Glock 17, Sig-Sauer P228, and Colt M4A1.
Wild Dog is a Puerto Rican with lean muscular appearance, short black hair, and brown eyes. He wore a hockey mask, a blur shirt with a red dog at the center, black shirt underneath, army cargo pants, brown gloves, gun holsters, combat boots, and black eye paint. He carries two Beretta 93R, Heckler & Koch MP5K, and Remington 870.
"Take it went well?" Nightwing asks.
"That's classified." Spartan remarked, turns to Tsuyu and Tetsutetsu. "They're newbies?"
"They are students at U.A. High in Japan. Apparently, they are completely dead set on becoming heroes like the Pro Heroes, but learning the reality, they were having second thoughts and learn from the Justice League." Ghost Maker informed him telepathically. "Only two are on mission and the others are still in training."
Both Tsuyu and Tetsutetsu were shocked of Ghost Maker's power that can speak with thoughts and can read other people's thoughts.
"Not to take it personal, amigos, he's a mute and he use Telepathy." Wild Dog told them, changing the subject. "Anyway, we saw a couple of robots cutting up the trees. You might wanna see it for yourselves."
While the group of heroes followed Spartan, Wild Dog, and Ghost Maker, they watched the machine destroying the trees and drove away.
"Why is that hunk of junk cutting off those trees? They're in a lumberjack or something?" Tetsutetsu asks, confused.
"The Brain built these things to scavenge raw materials." Robot Man points out. "He's got the whole jungle crawling with them."
"So, if we follow one, it might lead us to the Brotherhood of Evil." Tigress states.
"That's the idea." Nightwing agrees.
And with that, the Teen Titans, the Justice League, Tsuyu, and Tetsutetsu were following the machine without getting caught since the jungle is thick enough for them to hide while Tigress, Deadshot, Spartan, Wild Dog, and Ghost Maker readied their weapons in case the machine tries to go after them. But once the machine kept on moving, they saw the path that led them to the large dam-like facility.
"Looks like we found it." B'wana Beast said.
"Any idea what it is?" Tsuyu inquires curiously when Deadshot goes through his scope while Spartan using his visor and Nightwing goes through the binoculars.
"Looks like the Brotherhood got the materials they want, a ton of them in fact." Deadshot said.
"Enough to make something, but what? Not sure." Spartan added.
Inside of the dam-like facility, a French gorilla named Monsieur Mallah is working on a large device to make the raw material of trees into chargers, placing them into the device to power it up and making the quantum particle for the device while The Brain came out of the capsule.
"It seems our work here is done...I'm so glad you could witness my moment of triumph, like your families before you...Mento." The Brain said in a robotic tone, approaching to the captured Doom Patrol members.
"Triumph over what?" Mento retorted with a scowl. "All I've seen you do is destroying nature and jungle."
"I forgotten...Your current circumstance prevents you from read my mind...Then, allow me to give you a taste what you once destroyed has been rebuild..." The Brain said.
"Even if that's true, you'll never away with it." Mento said.
"You seem to forget, Mento...I am the one who has you..." The Brain told him, activating the device to electrocute him as Mento grunts in pain.
"Leave him alone!" Elasti-Woman shouts, tried to grow her size, but the device prevents her.
Negative Man tried to free himself which the device also preventing him, turns to his body that was standing.
'I've been separated too long...I need to get back to my body...' Negative Man mentally thought with a groan while Mento turns to the Brain, wondering what he is planning.
Few hours later, Deadshot shot two guards at the dam with his Customized AR-15 with a silencer.
"Got those two down." Deadshot informed them. "The rest is on you, Nightwing."
Nightwin nods, turns to them.
"We split up." Nightwing suggested. "Cyborg, you take Tetsutetsu for the front. Starfire, Raven, you take Tsuyu and Tigress to take on the guard towers. Beast Boy, take Spartan, Wild Dog, and Ghost Maker with you so they'll give you cover while you work on the security."
But before Nightwing give any more orders, three tree-cutting machines approach from the trees and heading after them.
"And what about these guys?" Robot Man asks, readying his fists. "Now, can I beat them up?"
"Titans, go!" Nightwing shouts as they rush after the machines.
Back inside of the facility, Monsieur Mallah finished making the quantum particle as he grabs it and shows it to The Brain.
"Congratulations. You built a battery." Mento said sarcastically, earned their attention.
"You mock what you couldn't possibly understand...everything is now in place...my only desire is in admission of defeat..." The Brain said.
"Not gonna happen." Mento remarked.
"Then your suffering will only be prolong...will start with the girl." The Brain said, activating the device to shrink the device down to size, causing Elasti-Woman to shriek in pain.
"Johnny!" Elasti-Woman shouts.
"No!" Mento said in dread.
"Concede...admit that I have won..." The Brain suggested, earned his attention.
However, the tree-cutting machine was thrown inside of the facility and crashes down, explodes in the process which was enough to scare Monsieur Mallah.
"Won what?" The voice of Robot Man rhetorically asks, earned their attention when he crossed his arms. "Sure ain't a beauty contest."
"Your tin soldier seems to be fixed, Mento." The Brain said when the group of Brotherhood of Evil grunts slowly approaches him, but the Teen Titans, Justice League, Tsuyu, and Tetsutetsu arrived behind him.
"You can thank us for that." Beast Boy said in a serious tone.
"Oh, look! The little green one, how nice..." The Brain mocks.
The fight starts when the Teen Titans, Justice League, Tsuyu, and Tetsutetsu leaps down. Both Tetsutetsu and Robot Man smashes the floor with enough force to send them flying. Nightwing and Tigress charges after the grunts, who fired their firearms, which causes them to deflect the attacks with their staff as they leap in midair, throwing their projectiles, knocking the grunts out. Beast Boy turns himself into a T-Rex, charging after the grunts as he rams them. Tsuyu leaps to dodge the projectiles as she flings her tongue to grab hold of that weapon and then knocking one of them out, but she puts her combat to use by delivering a punch to the jaw, knocking another one.
Both Wild Dog and Spartan fired their firearms at the grunts, killing them while Ghost Maker block the bullets with his katanas, slicing the guns and killing the grunts. Robot Man is being piled, but using his strength to send them flying as Monsieur Mallah charges after him. Tetsutetsu punches the gorilla in the sternum while Robot Man delivers a punch combo to the jaw, making him stumble a bit. Enraged, Monsieur Mallah swings his fist when Robot Man and Tetsutetsu ducks and counter by punching him, which the gorilla blocks it and counters by kicking them, sending them down to the ground. Robot Man and Tetsutetsu notices Monsieur Mallah leaps in the air with his fists rising up and about to slam them when the steel hero delivers a headbutt to the stomach, making him cough the air out of his mouth. Robot Man grabs hold of the gorilla, tossing him away.
More grunts arrived to give the Brotherhood of Evil aid, but Starfire fires her starbolts at them, knocking them out while Raven uses her power to break the railing. B'wana Beast and Tsuyu charges after the grunts and started knocking them out with their combat skills while giving Raven and Starfire some cover. Ghost Maker ran towards the capsule and slices it, freeing Negative Man's husk. Cyborg lands on the ground next to Elasti-Woman and slamming their heads, then frees her.
"Thanks." Elasti-Woman said gratefully.
"No problem." Cyborg said. "C'mon, we gotta help the others."
Starfire lands and uses her strength to break the glass, freeing Negative Man as he returns to his body which got him shivered a bit.
"Could you've at least thawed me out first?" Negative Man asks rudely.
"A 'thank you' would be nice." Tigress retorted.
But it's interrupted and causing them to dodge from Monsieur Mallah, who fired his gatling gun. Monsieur Mallah glances at Nightwing, who's fighting against the grunts and beating them easily, about to fire when Tigress fires her trick arrow from her crossbow as it explodes and destroys his weapon, making him stumble a bit.
Mento was watching the entire fight, seeing his team is free and the group of heroes fighting the grunts. He turns as he uses his power to enter The Brains thoughts, which causes him to widen his eyes in horror, finally realizing what he's planning. The Brain activate the device again to electrocute him, making Mento grunts in pain, but Beast Boy turns himself into an Ankylosaurus and swipes the Brain away, then turns into a bear to break the cuffs, freeing him.
"Garfield, that you?" Mento asks.
"Yeah, and you look just like your dad, harsh, and blunt." Beast Boy told him. "Guess I didn't get the time to meet you and your team."
"Well, it'll have to wait because we got to finish this." Mento said as they turned to the Brotherhood of Evil. "All of you, take 'em down!"
Mento then uses his telekinetic power to fire a concussion shot, causing the Brotherhood of Evil to dodge and make him fire the device. With that, Teen Titans, Justice League, Doom Patrol, Tsuyu, and Tetsutetsu are working together, knocking the large amount of grunts. Elasti-Woman grow herself into a giant as she slams her fist down to send them flying, but shrinks after the grunts fired their firearms. Negative Man uses his power to take flight and knocking them down while Starfire and Raven does the same. B'wana Beast, Tsuyu, and Nightwing charges after Monsieur Mallah as they deliver a flurry of punches and kicks, forcing him to block them. Tigress and Ghost Maker slicing the grunts with their blades while Wild Dog and Spartan fired their guns at them and giving their allies a cover fire. Raven appeared from the ground, revealing Cyborg who fires his Sonic Cannon at Monsieur Mallah, sent him flying as he crashes into the wall and causes him to lose the quantum particle.
Deadshot got the shot as he fires his weapon, destroying the quatum particle in the process.
"NO!" The Brain yelled.
"Nice shot." Nightwing said with a smirk through his communicator.
"Never doubt the 'World's Deadliest Marksman'." Deadshot remarked.
Mento uses his power to push the grunts away.
"It's over, give up." Mento said with a scowl.
"I beg to differ, Mento..." The Brain said as he activates the device to create a barrier, surrounding the Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, and Justice League, who tried to break it.
"Oh great." Negative Man said, noticing the large device is about to explode as Monsieur Mallah and The Brain head towards the rocket when it opens the hatch.
"I may have lost the particle for the quantum device, but I've got what I have wanted, a fitting end for you and your team..." The Brain said as he and Monsieur Mallah went inside, launching the rocket to leave.
Beast Boy, Tigress, and Spartan notices them fleeing and the others trapped, as they quickly destroyed the devices to free them.
"Guys, you might wanna hurry up! The place is about to blow!" Deadshot warned them.
"You heard him, let's move!" Nightwing said as they quickly ran out of the facility.
But after they made it out, the dam-like facility is destroyed.
"I wanted to thank you for saving us, and...with the Brotherhood of Evil got away, we just have to find them." Mento said.
"Don't worry, kid, we got time. They always hide somewhere to form another plan, but we'll be ready when it happens." Robot Man assures him.
"But you guys aren't doing it alone, we have a proposition." Nightwing said with a smirk.
At the Watchtower, the Doom Patrol give them the information about the Brotherhood of Evil and an explanation. Of course, the Justice League can tell Mento is pretty upset that the Brotherhood of Evil got away after the fight and they don't blame him, but the only thing that matters is that without the quantum particle, the device won't activate.
"And that's all I can tell you about the Brotherhood of Evil." Mento told him.
"Mento, you and your team did everything you can, that's all it matters." Superman (Clark) points out. "But just to give you some advice, whenever you're on a mission that's proven too much, call us and we'll help you."
Mento doesn't want to admit, but seeing that the Kryptonian is right as he nods in respond. Martain Manhunter walk towards him and extends a communicator to him.
"We like you and you team to have that, as an honorary member of the Justice League. You and your team have proven yourselves as heroes." Martian Manhunter told him as Mento accepts, grabbing it.
Inside of the Brotherhood of Evil's hideout, the Brain and Monsieur Mallah along with the other members of the Brotherhood of Evil, they're now monitoring every hero from the fight back at the facility. But the screen turns into static and then explodes in the process.
"Nice try, guys! But I'm making sure there's no cheating!" The voice of Daito said, ending the transmission, much to their frustration.
"Now that kid is really something, few steps ahead by uploading a bug and look where it gets you, nothing but static and a penalty for being such sore losers!" The voice of Joker said with a laugh as he and Dark Archer reveled themselves from the shadows.
Dark Archer is a lean man in his 30s with short black hair and black eyes. He wore a League of Assassins suit with leather tunic weaved in Kevlar, carries a compound bow, quiver with arrows, combat knife, throwing knives, and a scimitar.
"And who are you?" The woman named Madam Rouge asks with a scowl.
"Me? I'm the Prince of Crimes! I'm the Joker!" Joker answered with a sinister smirk.
Monsieur Mallah is about to charge after them when Dark Archer fires his arrow, shocking him and knocking him down.
"Now with that Frenchie out of the way, we have an offer for you and your team." Dark Archer said seriously.
"And we can promise you, it will be all worth it once we tell you how to get rid of those 'Goody-Two Shoes' and you destroy for what you desire." Joker adds as the Brotherhood of Evil decided to hear the offer from them.
