Chapter 2: Amnesiac

Shaun wiped the tears from his eyes and looked at the dogs standing next to him, there was a blue Heeler with dark blue fur covering her eyes that continued to cover the rest of her head in between her eyes and she had blue spots on her back, standing next to her was a smaller orange Heeler that had the same fur pattern has the blue dog except this one had one large spot on her back.

The Blue dog looked at Shaun and introduced herself, "Hi there! My name's Bluey and this is my little sister Bingo! We saw you crying and wanted to see if you were okay, are you okay?"

Shaun looked in the distance, trying to remember what happened before he found himself in this world. He focused, but it would not come back to him, he remembered standing in a room with two people, but to him, they just looked like shadowy figures.

He looked back to Bluey and Bingo, "I don't know, I remember my name and parents, but I can't figure out what they looked like or where they are." he replied with a sad look, tears beginning to form again.

The girls noticed and asked if he wanted to play with them to help him feel better. "Um y-yeah sure." Shaun looked behind with a surprised look and saw his tail slowly wagging on the dirt. Bluey and Bingo helped Shaun stand up as he found it hard to get his balance, trying to get used to having paws. He dusted himself off and they all walked up to the playground slides.

they all stood at the ladder of the slide as Bluey talked to Shaun while waiting for Bingo to have her turn.

"Oh, I forgot to ask you! What's your name?"

"it's Shaun" he replied to Bluey. "Shaun? That sounds like a nice name." Bluey said in response while smiling. they then both looked at Bingo sitting at the top of the slide as she laid on her stomach and pushed herself down, giggling as she went down the slide and hit the ground with a small thud.

Bingo ran back to the start and waited for Bluey and Shaun to go but Bluey decided to let Shaun go ahead of her. he climbed up and sat on the top of the slide, taking in the beautiful scenery of trees and birds flying around, until his mind wandered back to trying to figure out where he was and what he was doing before he ended up in this strange world of dogs.

However, he was quickly taken out of his trance when Bingo and Bluey yelled at him, "Hey Shaun! Are you gonna go down anytime soon?"

"hmm? Oh Right sorry" he said scratching the back of his head and looking away with slight embarrassment. He slid down and with a smile on his face and stood up a little better after getting off the slide. Bluey quickly had her turn and they all went off to play on the rest of the playground.

After several hours of fun had passed, the sun was starting to set, parents and their kids were leaving the park when a male's voice yelled out,

"Bluey! Bingo! It's time to head home mates!" Bluey and Bingo replied to their father in unison.

"Okay Dad!" they then looked at Shaun, "Is your mom or dad here to get you?"

He looked at them and a frown formed on his face, "I don't know, I know my parents don't live together anymore but neither of them are here. I don't know where to go."

Bluey and Bingo looked at each other for a few seconds before coming up with an idea and smiling back at Shaun.

"Let's ask my mum and dad if you can stay with us! Bluey said, "Yeah! We have a big house! There will be room for you!" Bingo added on.

"well I don't-" Before Shaun could finish his sentence Bluey grabbed him by his hand and they all headed to her parents.

"Dadddd! Can my new friend stay with us? His parents aren't here and he has nowhere to stay!" yelled Bluey.

Their dad bent down to look at Shaun better, he looked similar to his daughter Bluey, besides him having the one large spot on his back and having black fur covering the top of his head.

"I don't know kids, what if his parents come soon?" Bandit told his daughters.

Bingo and Bluey looked at their dad and folded their ears down and gave him puppy dog eyes. "Pleeeesssseee?"

Unable to resist his daughter's cute faces, he accepted defeat.

"Alright but if anyone asks around for him, we bring him back to his family, okay?"

"Yes Dad!" The girls said with tails wagging and giggling, their dad then turned his attention back to Shaun and put out his hand.

"By the way, my name's Bandit Heeler, and what should I call you?"

Shaun took Bandits' hand and shook it.

"My name is Shaun!" he said with a big grin.

"Shaun? that's a cool name." Bandit replied. "well I hope it's alright with you, staying with my family until we find your parents"

Shaun nodded, trusting the blue Heeler. "Yeah it's okay with me, I don't want to be lonely right now."

They all walked to Bandit's red jeep as he pulled out the spare kid's car seat from the trunk and got all the kids packed in and ready to head home.

"My wife Chilli is cooking dinner, I hope you like prawns!" Bandit said looking back at Shaun.

Shaun looked at Bandit confused and tilted his head. "What are prawns?"

"Oh mate you are gonna love them, she cooks them the best, wouldn't have them any other way!" Bandit said happily as he started the car and began to drive back to their house.
