Catch-22: The Hole in The World

By: M14Mouse

Summary: He can honestly say…this isn't his fault. (Okay, one thing was but the other…not so much).

Disclaimer: Don't own them. How sad.

"So, how long will it take him to show up?" He asked as he stared at the carnage around him. Rock, twisted metal railing, and glass lay before him. It didn't look much like the rest area that his students stopped in.

He might have overdid it a little bit.

Opps.

Pretty soon. Hell, if anyone messes with my roots, I would be there in no time at all but Mr. Yabby has more roots than we can destroy.

Then I guess that I have to destroy some more.

He looked up to see the lights from the ceiling start to flicker. The walls started to rattle.

I guess that we made enough noise. Yaggy must love us.

Veles started crackling inside of his head.

The lights went off for a moment then came back on to reveal Yaldabaoth before him.

"I thought that we talked about this. No more using the Igor form."

Yaldabaoth snarled at him.

"My other form doesn't fit into this room."

Then he should turn into his precious mug. He played that angle for a few hundred years. Holy grail my ass. Boring. Although, it was hilarious to see the knights run around like idiots after a damn mug.

"Veles says that you should turn into your cup form. You will definitely fit then."

Yaldabaoth's face turned red.

He Ho.

You are such a beautiful troll, Jacky.

"What are you doing?!"

He looked around at the rest area then at Yaldabaoth.

"My students are busy with Akechi. "Showing" him the ropes of Mementos sort of speaks. I will join them soon, especially since Futaba found something "shiny". I don't know what that means but I know my students. That means trouble. But me? I'm remodeling. What do you think?" He said mildly.

High Pixie made a half dying and half laughing sound.

"You are ruining my work!"

"Ah. So, we were right."

Yaldabaoth's face froze as he smiled slightly.

"We have been taking notes. Veles noted that lower levels look strangely like roots. Of course, I noticed that nothing was coming back out of those tunnels. You have been feeding. Probably using stockpiling the energy to take over the world and most likely kill my students. Neither one is acceptable, of course." He said mildly.

Yaldabaoth groaned as his eyes flashed golden and the room started to shake again.

Should he prepare for the ceiling to fall down on him?

…..

Seems rather wasteful.

Considering he threw a fit about him destroying the rest area.

He sighed as the shaking stopped.

"Good. Now, are you done?"

The lights start to flicker again.

Your kin have better manners than him.

He has always been like this, Izzy. When he can't get his way, he throws a temper tantrum. He was spoiled a lot as a baby angel. So was Lucifer.

Lucifer groaned at Veles.

Finally, the lights stopped flicking.

Yaldabaoth's eyes glowed like a pair of unearthly red. It would almost be scary.

Almost.

He sighed again.

"Are you really done this time?"

"You…"

"I'm insignificant, weak, and human. You have several thoughts on how to kill me or my friends. Possibly break me into a million pieces or set me on fire. Did I cover the bases?"

Wow…I don't think that I really heard you irritable before.

He was going to monolog me to death. I rather hear Ryuji and Goro compare convenience store meals again than sit through another villain's monolog.

I think that you hurt his feelings.

Yaldabaoth was…pouting?

"If you make you feel better, my students would have been scared and impressed."

Yaldabaoth scorned him.

"You have no idea what you have done."

"I have some idea what I have done."

"I'm going to kill you and your students."

"True. Mostly. Not me. It would violate your contract with me."

Yaldabaoth's face froze in surprise.

"There is nothing in our contract about harming you."

He coughed.

"I believe that you stated "no harm will come to you through this persona," He said.

"IF I order him too!"

"Oh? I knew of the spying but ordering harm to be done to me? Interesting. So, you planned to betray our contract much like you did Igor."

"You know nothing. I didn't break my contract with him!"

"Of course, you haven't. You need him. That is how you are able to draw his powers into yours. How else would Akechi have the power of the wild card? Caroline and Justice paid no attention to him when we were out of the Velvet Room. I know what I saw and his persona were definitely not the same. If I take a guess, unlike Ren, Akechi refuses to form bonds unless it suits his cause. Right now, that is how Robin Hood came to be. If I take another guess, he probably has one for me too."

Well…damn.

He could feel Izanagi's amusement.

Yaldabaoth just stared at him.

"You think that you're clever…."

"I'm merely stating the truth."

Yaldabaoth started to chuckle.

"You truly live up to your name…Truth Seeker."

"Why thank you," He said with a bow.

"That knowledge won't save you. Your little…fit won't do any long-term damage to my plans."

"In some ways, you are correct. I can't destroy your roots. You have too many. You draw too much power from them."

For a god who hates humans so, he relieves on them quite a bit.

Iris, dear…he is what we call a hypocrite.

Yaldabaoth looked proud at his realization like he didn't win a thing.

And an idiot.

Knowledge is knowledge. Now, I know what I'm looking for.

"You're correct."

"It should be interesting to see the end game."

"You and your students will lose."

"We shall see."

He started walking toward the exit.

"There will be consequences to your actions." Yaldabaoth said behind him.

He paused and looked over his shoulder.

"Of course. Like there are consequences for your actions," He said as he tapped his cane on the ground. The shadows swallow him up.

So, the plan worked.

Much better than me and you thought.

Ego much?

High Pixie giggled.

We narrowed down where Igor is and we know how to get there.

Now, we need to practice going down that deep.

He turned his attention to his students.

Oracle, where are you?

He frowned at the silence. Where was she?

Veles?

I can't sense her or the others.

Take me to their last location.

Few moments later, he arrived on one of many Memento's tracks and stopped to stare at a glowing portal.

He sighed.

Not again.

What is it, laddie?

We have someone else enter the field…sort of speak.

You know who did this?

No…but it feels familiar. It isn't Zen…or Chronos. It is probably another god.

What the hell is with your life?!

Never boring. Probably, I have to go after them.

You don't know where this portal leads.

Trouble.

Beside that! Izzy, talk to him!

Veles…he has already made up his mind.

You are no help.

He chuckled.

Think of this way…you have something to talk with Igor about when we are done.

Yes, how crazy you are.

He sighed again then took a look at the portal.

He could wait for his students to come back.

He snorted. The amount of trouble they would get into…. especially now Goro is with them.

He took one step toward the portal and

WHISH!

The portal was much like traveling through the tv. He felt himself falling then landing on some stairs.

Well…this is interesting.

He looked around…then looked up. This place was huge. He could make out some sort of tower that stretched toward the sky with stairs and pipes wrapped around it. It looked like it was made of glass and gold.

Veles…

Ready when you are, laddie.

He closed his eyes and focused. He felt his senses explode with different sensations. Much like its appearance, this place was huge in terms of size and energy. It was definitely a palace. He could feel its treasure. He frowned slightly. It felt much like Mementos but…wasn't? It was a strange feeling that he couldn't place. He could sense numerous shadows and cognitive beings but none where he was. He couldn't sense his students.

"So, we are in a palace but not a palace?" He said in confusion.

Hell, if I know.

"Hmm….," He said as he looked down the stairs to see a cognitive being at desk.

Was this palace some sort of business?

"I'm going to ask the person at the desk. Perhaps, she can tell me," He said to himself as he walked down the stairs. Finally, he made it to the front desk. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the glowing door of the Velvet Room. He turned his attention to the front desk.

"Hello, ma'am," He said to the woman at the desk.

"Hello, sir. Welcome to the Laboratory of Sorrow, where all of your pain and sorrows are taken away! If you go to your right, you can start filling out your forms."

He blinked for a moment.

Well….

"Oh, my goodness…my sister is going to kill me," A voice said behind him.

He turned around to see a little girl in a blue dress with a huge book in her arms.

Okay, now that is interesting.

A/N: Welcome to the Royal Arc of this story. :D Don't worry. I plan to do PQ2 as well because who doesn't want to see two different age Yus to interact? I want to thank you guys for sticking with this story. I know that it is several novels long. While I enjoy long stories, not everyone does. So, again. Thank you. I can't really comment on your reviews because some of you are at different points of the story. I don't want to spoil you! I can answer that my Yu based heavily off his anime counterpoint with game personality traits throw in. He is a hoot to write. But know this…I love each every one of them. So, I thank you for them, kudos, the favorites, etc.
