The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "What are you so afraid of?"

"You."

She really didn't know what to make of the situation that she saw in front of her. Jacoba had been sitting and reading in the Hub (she still wasn't sure that having a whole room in the hanger for Thorn to use as his playroom was such a good idea, but she had been overruled; at least she could use it for a hideaway for reading in the meantime). Suddenly, she had heard exuberant voices out in the sitting area. Frowning slightly, she had placed her bookmark back into her book and set it down on the bench before she got up to investigate.

The sight that greeted her when she looked out made her hold in her laughter. There were various members of the team spread out all over the sitting room, for once actually enthralled in whatever story that Galgo was animatedly relaying to them. Smilee was sitting on the floor in front of Luna, leaning back against her legs as she leaned into Thorn's side (Jacoba had been wondering where he had wandered off to). Mars, Barn, Lee, and Gunnar were all sitting on the dining room chairs (which were faced backwards) while Doc looked like he was about to fall out of the recliner he was sitting on from laughing so hard. Standing in the middle of them all (on the coffee table of all places; she was rather glad that they hadn't bought the one that had had glass in the middle of it right now) was Galgo, looking to the outside observer (her, in this case) like he was holding court right there. It was nice for her to see that all the members of the team present were actually listening to the Spaniard instead of just humoring him for once.

Shaking her head, Jacoba decided that she should probably make her presence known and perhaps listen into the small man's story. She began making her way over to Gunnar, not really making any noise, as she was wont to do. When she was about halfway there, Galgo turned as he was talking, now facing in her direction. The moment that he saw her, he jumped and squeaked suddenly, causing the Amazon to shoot him a confused look.

"You alright there, Galgo?"

Now, the rest of the gathered crowd had turned toward her, greeting her before turning back towards the small Spaniard, who was still clutching his chest. "Dios mio, you need to make some noise, Amazonas! I was telling a story!"

Jacoba rolled her eyes as she finally reached Gunnar, placing a kiss on his forehead before turning back to Galgo. "That would defeat the purpose of being a stealthy person. What are you so afraid of?"

He raised his eyebrow as if to ask if she was being serious. When he got no response, he sighed and pointed at her. "You."

She shrugged. "Fair point. Now, why don't you finish your story?"

With a bright smile, Galgo launched back into the story that he had been telling, starting right where he had left off. Leaning into Gunnar's side, Jacoba hid a smirk of her own. She loved it when her family came together.
