After giving her an earpiece, I began walking to the gates below the deck. "So, I didn't catch your name."
The woman was walking toward the observation deck, to open the gates. "And you probably won't. You can call me Rose, though. So what's the plan for getting out of here?"
"Through the front door. We're faking a prison transfer."
Rose opened the gates. "You know this isn't actually a prison, right?"
I continued forward alone. It would be safest if Rose stayed behind for now. "Same concept. We just need the authorization code from the commander."
"Then let's get it. The base commander wears a black berrete. Good luck."
_
Entering the next area, I looped a camera that would be annoying to get around. I entered a kind of zigzag room(what), and upon reaching the doorway, I saw the black beret that signified the commander. I thought for a moment, but the commander started walking away. So I began tailing the man. I followed him to another room, but this one had a closet. I opened the closet with the commander watching. It was spacious enough for two people, which was what I wanted.
I immediately turned to the commander and said, with my gun pointed at him, "Get in here." The base commander, seeing the gun, decided it would be in his best interest to comply(good job), and walked over with his hands up. I closed the door and immediately started grilling him.
'What's the authorization code ?"
"I-I don't know what you mean..."
"Oh, nothing much, just the CODE that will allow a HELICOPTER to LAND."
I was raising my voice, which usually didn't help an interrogation, but it worked here.
"T-The code is 87529..."
"Thank you," I said, and proceeded to knock him out and drag him to the corner.
Speaking through the earpiece, I said, "I've got the code. 87529."
"Good. But you'll need to find his computer, I can't find a way to authorize the landing here."
"...Well that would have been nice to know about thirty seconds ago."
I began checking through every room he could find for the computer. Twice I was nearly caught being in restricted areas. But hey, finally found it in the seventh room I checked. Using the computer, he spoke through my earpiece. "The heli is authorized to land."
"Good," Rose said. "Let's contact our escape."
A new voice came through the earpiece. "Jake's Pizza. What can I get ya?"
I heard an intake of breath, and..
"WREN HURRY UP EVERYONE IS DYING WE NEED THE EVAC NOW!"
Oh, she is gonna be fun. Rose starts opening a blast door.
"R-Rose! Hang on..."
Rose, now with me, said, "Haha, just kidding. We do need that evac though."
"... Rose, REALLY."
Rose finished with the blast door. We walked outside, and toward a landing helicopter.
About ten minutes later, the SC commander was found unconscious. After that, they had an idea why there were so many SC guards not answering their walkies. After checking the security footage, they found no one on screen who did not belong there, but some of the cameras had apparently frozen, and had to be reset.
$8500 in cash was brought to me soon after the helicopter landed in the Halcyon base. Considering I had only spent around $400, this was a definite income. Rose was summoned somewhere else, so I started talking with Wren. Technically, though, Wren started talking with me.
"You did good out there."
"...Thanks... so what happens now?"
"Now, your going to-"
"WREN!"
Rose was coming down the hallway.
"Rose. Welcome back," Wren said.
"Shut up, I know you missed me," Rose said with a small smile that quickly fell away. "They... promoted me, Wren"
"...I know."
"... It's your fault, isn't it..."
After a moment, Rose turned to me. "You. Whiteout, right? I'm your new mission coordinator."
"...Looking forward to working with you."
Rose had a grin on her face as she said her next words.
"You're darn right you are. Now come on. Let's get to work."
